Habit Hunter: Habit tracker for Positive User Reviews

Great fun way to tick off tasksFun way to get through that to do list..Version: 1.2.1

Fun app to develop habits and get stuff doneI love that there are different sections. The habit section for reoccurring stuff that you can set and forget knowing the app will add the item to the daily tasks when appropriate. The task section for random and one-off stuff. And my favorite the goal section for big stuff, which then asks you to break it down into smaller tasks. I think my biggest suggestion would be to allow the user more customization options for the avatar. I’m not a blonde white dude and not being able to set hair color, skin color, and gender isn’t the best Dev choice in 2020. (Even adding fantasy races like elves would be cool...but first add gender and color choices) Also if there were different options for armor and weapons at each level. Like a set for building a knight vs an archer vs a mage. Basically all the armor is knight stuff and you can only use a bow or a staff when you reach higher levels.Version: 1.1.3

Excellent Way to Keep Track of HabitsGreat app ! It really helps not only keep track of task and habits you’re trying to achieve on a daily basis but it does so by adding a nice RPG gaming element to it which makes it stand out from the rest of the habit tracking apps..Version: 1.4.0

Super Fun!I love RPG so a very interactive rpg to track habits, tasks, and goals is so helpful. I'm also doing a fitness/lifestyle challenge for the next 75 days so this will definitely make checking in daily all the more worth while!.Version: 1.4.5

This is really cool I love itI’m a gamer specially love RPG games and this app is just my dream task app. I just want one thing: please make a Apple Watch companion for it I see you have made Apple Watch apps for other apps, so you are already there. Please think about it. I love the app. If fulfills my gamers brain, my ADHD brain that needs reminders and of course my tech brain because it’s an app with cool images and stuff. Thanks devs And again please make an Apple Watch companion for this awesome app.Version: 1.2.4

Great RPG habit app! This app allow you to add to do items, habits, and goals. However, I use it primarily for health and fitness (habits). I have a recurring exercise habit, meditation habit, and protein habit, and this app helps motivate me to accomplish them every day! I love the little battles, purchasing equipment for my avatar, and progressing through the story line. Great app! Please make more like this so I have another to go to once I finish this story line!!.Version: 1.1.3

At the end of the day I realize that I’ve done everythingBefore this app, getting my checklist done was based on how often the checklist appeared in front of me. I tried putting my checklist on my computer, on the background of my phone, but often times I get to the end of the day and not have anything done. This app has change that! The fun element of leveling up a character and buying new equipment, gets me to open up my phone and look at the task list. Because I want those sweet sweet coins, I try to check off a few. By the time I get to the end of my day, I have repeated this a couple hundred times, and have managed to get everything I wanted done complete. I am very supportive of this app and I hope to keep up my streak..Version: 1.3.2

So far…Has potential. Better than most other offerings with this idea but I feel like it’s missing sub tasks. Prepare dinner could be a task that uses sub tasks to itemize what needs to be prepared or what ingredients are needed to be purchased. I’m just getting into the gameplay which is passable but not too engaging so far. Still better than simply checking things off a list, though..Version: 1.3.8

Long awaitedFinally! A rpg gamified habit app.Version: 1.1.7

Fantastic PotentialThis is unlike any other goal setting app... It needs to be developed and I hope this will happen!.Version: 1.0.3

Perfect for ADD!!Finally a habit checker with rewards! I really need the sense of accomplishment when trying to learn new habits. I have a child with autism, a toddler, and a baby. Finding the time and motivation to do more than just keep us all fed and clean is super overwhelming. I constantly get side tracked. Kids interrupt every chore I try to do. At night when they go to sleep, I turn to video games just to get SOME sense of accomplishment. But this does it all! I get my video game. I get my motivation and dopamine rush from leveling up. This is absolutely what I needed! Thank you!.Version: 1.1.3

Helpful so farI’ve only been using this app for a couple of days but it has been helping motivate me so far..Version: 1.3.1

Fun Organizational appI’ve been experimenting with this app for 3 weeks. as someone who has not played a lot of online computer games, it is really fun. I’m able to frame my big goals as epic journeys. In order to move forward, you have to develop the habits that you’ve chosen, which has helped to keep me accountable. At first, I did the free version and that is wonderful. Finally, I decided to pay just to get rid of excess ads. I have found this app most useful in just developing one or two habits, and with one good goal with multiple milestones. Though it has the capacity for much more. Thanks!.Version: 1.4.5

I am still a newbieI like this for my habit tracking system instead of my journal but the only thing is I very much need reminders but not times to do things. Without reminding I forget to get in the app. And being a teacher I just don’t know what will drag me away. I am sure I will figure something out in the app. I seriously really like this. Is there a place where I can see progress on my habits?.Version: 1.2.4

5 stars from a PHD studentI think this is a great idea with good execution and functioning so far. I’m excited to see how it continues to develop. It would be great if bad things happened to your character if you didn’t complete a task or goal in time. Some of the english needs to be edited..Version: 1.0.3

Excellent Habit / To Do TrackerI love this app. It allows you to track regular habits, daily to do list, and long term goals. The gamification is fun but the utility of the app has me won. I bought the full app after a couple weeks. Well worth it..Version: 1.4.5

Gamify my life!I’m absolutely terrible about procrastinating and this app makes me want to get the annoying tasks done right now! Also I love the calendar feature to see the bigger picture especially for habits I need to do daily like taking meds. Thanks!.Version: 1.2.4

Loved the app but can be improvedI really enjoy using this app. But as others have suggested, there are too many ads even with premium & pro bundle purchase!! I also find it annoying that I kept being kicked off when switching between my phone and iPad. It should allow simultaneous signing in across devices. On the same end, the syncing part only works with tasks, dailies and goals. Progress in the game will NOT be synced — New players watch out!.Version: 1.4.5

Exactly how it should beLove the concept, easy to use, great music. The text plays automatically so it might be good to stop each dialogue and click to move forward..Version: 1.1.3

Great routine builder for adhd! This app has a super user friendly interface. I love how it’s designed and how engaging it is. Nothing is too complicated, so it’s simple to quickly put down a task.It would be great if they could update some of the game features..Version: 1.0.3

Better than other gamification apps I’ve triedOthers don’t let you actually fight the monsters, they just use your completed tasks as hits why the monsters & uncompleted tasks as damage against the player- no real interaction This is MUCH better!.Version: 1.4.5

Great motivationI really struggle with habits because I don’t have a visual representation of my progress, and it’s a long term goal, so having something fun to do every day as a reward for doing tasks just makes it so much easier to stay on task, and I find myself excited to do habits. I highly recommend this app and am so glad I found it.Version: 1.4.7

Love this appThis app is well thought out and is fun to play, it has really got me achieving more. It has lots of useful features and there is not much I would improve, there are small improvements mainly. I have recommended to two friends..Version: 1.1.3

Really fun to do trackerWould only be better if habits had an “x times per week” option instead of a specific day of the week. Great tool!.Version: 1.3.0

Better Than It’s Rival AppsI tried a couple other list/task rpg apps like this briefly and so far I think this one beats the others out in terms of visuals, sound, and gameplay. Also, I think because you can tell more work was put into it it makes me return to it and respect it more than it’s competition. It’s too soon to tell if it’s making me more productive or not, but I am liking it so far, and I think it’s a worthy experiment..Version: 1.3.8

Best chore app out thereI’ve used this and habitica and I like this one much better. I only wish that on the tasks screen it would display all my tasks to do and completed on the same screen but otherwise it’s amazing thank you!.Version: 1.2.3

MotivatingI really benefit from this app! Also it’s fun.Version: 1.4.0

Great App!It’s a really fun and good looking app. It would be nice to be able to filter out habits that are not set for the current day or have already been conpleted and sort based on reminder time so you can always see the next priority at the top of your screen when you look at your habits..Version: 1.1.2

Great app BUT…While I love this app the only negative I have found is how I have to add each task in and and I can’t just duplicate a task that I complete multiple times a day…. This has helped get my ADHD more under control and I plan on contusions use to see how well I can get things under control..Version: 1.3.0

Fun task listI really have enjoyed the gamification of my task list that this provides. Habits, tasks, and goals are easy to set and modify. I would like it if habits could be set for every other week or once a month but these are not options. My main criticism is that the story in the English language version is hard to understand because it is poorly translated. It is still fun and useful. The free version has super annoying ads, so it did not take long before I paid for the upgraded ad free version..Version: 1.3.3

GENIUS. Helps gamers like me get their lives togetherThis concept is absolutely terrific. I'm overcoming a video game addiction and this is a super useful tool. It harnesses that desire to achieve that we gamers have, but instead of using that energy toward video games, I'm actually doing things that matter in life. Thank you all so much. 👍👍.Version: 1.0.3

Has potential…Basically a to-do list you set yourself. With the simplicity of the graphics, they should have more variety in the character customization. You can basically only be a knight, archer or mage, so you will only ever use 1 or 2 of the stats. If being used for fitness, you could program a randomizer so the user can input multiple exercises and have the tasks randomly set each day. You could relate the skills to different types of stats. For example, reading and learning would attribute to the intelligence stat. Physical exercise (excluding cardio) can be strength, etc. I could go on, but that may change the app too much..Version: 1.4.6

Good and funKeeps you on task and is good fun.Version: 1.1.9

Nice AppGreat idea for keeping track of habits..Version: 1.4.0

ADHD WIN!!!This app has made it fun to do the things I hate to do. I finally did three errands yesterday that I hadn’t done for two months. It’s awesome. If you get addicted to games, and you also have crippling ADHD, this is the app for you. I cannot express my gratitude to the developers enough. Thank you thank you thank you!.Version: 1.4.6

Great But There’s An Annoying ProblemI absolutely love this app! It’s been really great to help me remember certain tasks and habits. My only problem is that for some reason some habits even though they are daily tasks come up with the message that I cannot do them except on the days they are planned. This makes no sense because they are set to daily which I did double check. The only solution is to remake the task which defeats the purpose since I can’t track how often I’ve done it for. This is the only reason I have not given the app five stars! Once this is fixed I feel the game will deserve five stars! 🤗.Version: 1.1.3

So far so goodI’ve only used it for a few days, but really enjoy what it invokes from a habit-keeping / task-management perspective. Also, with the inclusion of an actual game, it’s quickly become my go-to app for when i have a few spare minutes. Ads are few when I haven’t intentionally triggered them, which is obviously my own doing..Version: 1.3.8

Habits made fun!My sister and I were talking the other day about how we wished that life could be like a game where you get exp points for doing your daily things and you can work toward quests etc… Then I found this app and it is exactly what I was hoping for. It’s simple, but fun and I get experience points for brushing my teeth and working out! My little avatar is already at lvl 4 and decked out with a new sword and shield! Good stuff!.Version: 1.3.1

Loading problemsI love the idea and it’s a motivating game so far, but it doesn’t always load properly, so sometimes pressing buttons doesn’t work PLEASE NOTE: Paying 3.99 to “remove ads” only removes the spontaneous ads, not the ones offered with double coins as incentives. Those of us who struggle to focus and need a game to help us stay motivated are probably the people who LEAST want the game to offer us 30-second time wasters all day long..Version: 1.3.3

Tw: eating/edThis app is really good for getting yourself to do things. i struggle with eating a lot, and i'm using this app to get myself to eat lunch daily. it's working really well so far :D.Version: 1.2.2

Keeps me coming backI use Habitica for my everyday tasks and habits, and for random to-dos, but I use Habit Hunter for life/long-term goals. The cool music and addicting Candy Crush-like progression through the story/game make me excited to check in with the app every day. The artwork is aesthetically pleasing, too, probably the nicest of all the life rpg apps (and I’ve tried them all)..Version: 1.1.2

Great appUsing it to maintain momentum on mundane work tasks as well as building habits in home life. Dopamine hits help!.Version: 1.4.7

One day inSo, I am only one day into this game, but it is very encouraging. As a person who enjoys RPG’s in general and could sit mindlessly playing for hours, but also as a person who has a great list of things I need to do, this is a really fun option for me. It has just enough game elements to make me want to come back to it, and because your progress depends on how many things you accomplish, I find myself wanting to add more things to it so that I can progress more and continue to play the game..Version: 1.1.3

Novel and helpful. Room for improvementNot overly exciting but it’s a fun and novel way to bring some order to your life..Version: 1.3.8

Great appGreat way to stay on top of daily stuff. Lot of fun!.Version: 1.2.3

Incredible for those with mental illnessI have severe depression and most days find it impossible to get out of bed, this game really helped! I think growing up we’re constantly given some kind of reward for doing tasks whether it was an allowance or praise or special treat, but when you’re an adult you’re left to do things without praise and that can be difficult to navigate the right way. I’ve been using this app to reward anything from brushing my teeth to working on projects for work. My job has tasks that often last a long time and it can be hard to stay motivated, so I often add a task that just says “work on xyz” and I’ll get a little reward for doing work that day. It helps the day feel finished as well, especially working for myself at home where there’s not much that signifies the end of a day. Anyway! Basically this app is great to bring that motivation and reward system back into your life as an adult, it also makes mundane tasks more fun which is great. This has been the only do to list or habit tracker that’s worked for me, and I think it’d have the most benefits for anyone with mental illness and or who has adhd or symptoms similare to adhd. On another note it’s replacing my need to reward myself with food which is making me feel great Thanks for this app, much love 💕.Version: 1.2.0

Worth downloadingEasy to use, feels like an rpg adventure app. Minimal ads. Does the job it claims to do.Version: 1.3.1

Love it!Added this to my folder of favorite go to games. Be forewarned though, all late tasks have penalties, as does unchecking a task, so put all recurring tasks under habits. Speaking of which, the habits section could be improved: when you set something for weekly, you have to specify a day of the week, and there is no section for monthly habits. There are also no bad habit monsters to defeat..Version: 1.4.6

Was skeptical, but now I’m loving itI’m still new to the app so I have yet to see if long term use lives up to expectation, but so far I’m really enjoying this. The differences between tasks, habits, and goals perfectly fits my way of mentally organizing projects..Version: 1.1.2

Family friendlyOur family uses this to track goals, it’s great to connect over. I like the functionality, and my son likes it. The number of ads are annoying..Version: 1.3.3

Love itThos is honestly what I’ve been looking for - great for tracking habits and game at the same time.Version: 1.4.7

Fun way to be productive!I’ve been using task tracker apps for many years, but this gives you a lot more satisfaction makes the whole process a little more fun..Version: 1.4.7

Helpful App for Chores and GoalsI got this for my son and we both love it! Makes the less appealing chores or tasks more fun for my son. The quest and game features help motivate him to do his daily chores as well as working toward a goal he has in mind. He’s able to keep track of his goal/goals and see his progress. He enjoys the battles and leveling up of his character. Definitely recommend for parents that have a child that is ADHD or not easily motivated..Version: 1.3.3

Great Habit Builder for RPG FansI have been going through a tough life transition recently and needed to build good structure and habits to keep it together. This has all the aspects I’ve looked for in a gamified life RPG. Looks clean, easy to manage tasks and habits and makes you want to work hard to get to the next level. Plus the ads give you bonuses and are t that invasive. It’s helping me through a rough Tim to stay on track so highly recommend..Version: 1.3.4

An interesting alternative to HabiticaThis personal management system is a more active version of habitica. You’re able to have more engaging battles with enemies and see changes in your avatar’s appearance based on purchased items. Joining a tribe functions to same as being in a guild in Habitica. Overall is an interesting experience if you have the fully paid for version. Otherwise, the ads become a bit annoying and can take away from the immersion experience. You may also become annoyed if you like to re-organize tasks, based on your own preferences instead of the preset criteria, they have pre-selected all in all, it’s worth the cost..Version: 1.4.5

Very promising. One major issue. Several suggested featuresI have tried several gamified productivity apps and so far this one seems the most promising because leveling up actually has a purpose beyond a number thanks to the battle system/story progression. The major issue I’ve been having (and why I can’t give it 5 stars) is with the repeated tasks - if I don’t complete all of them in one day they don’t seem to reset correctly. This is really annoying and I don’t know how to fix it other than manually resetting each one every day, which kind of defeats the purpose. A couple of features I would like to see from other apps are the ability to customize your avatar/character’s base appearance, allowing you to sort tasks by due date, allowing you to categorize and/or filter and search tasks, and allowing you to set task difficulty, with more difficult tasks earning you more EXP. This app is still pretty young so I’m sure many more features are in the works - I look forward to watching it evolve!.Version: 1.1.1

My inner Journey is visibleThe app cannot not replace the immense pleasure I feel in continuously embarking on my inner journey. This journey has also lead to transformations in my external world and self too, but it all starts within. Habit Hunter gives all of us a visual representation of our avatar, character, player in this game called life. I can not express how a absolutely satisfying it is to check off a box that you genuinely put effort into completing and looking back at how far you have come. Tip of the hat to the creator ☺️.Version: 1.4.5

Just figuring things outI guess i was expecting cool dragons and not mushrooms to battle? lol, and I’m trying to use my tablet on a keyboard and I can only play the game portrait style which makes it difficult to type in my Goals etc. Switching from my phone to my tablet and vice versa does not seem to work well either which complicates things because I’d like to use my keyboard to type in everything and then use my phone other times. I do like that I can type in anything for my own goals, nothing is preset and that I can set dates to complete them by. Also like that my daily tasks can be listed and some things set for certain days of the week. I was attracted to this app because I really need something to help me get my schedule on track and I enjoy playing games to make me think I’m not really adulting, lol….Version: 1.4.7

Great App!I love this app. It’s great for gamifying habit forming. It’s fun to play, easy to use and best of all it is not at all pushy about in-app purchases and there are very few ads. I have recommended it to several friends..Version: 1.4.5

Love it exactly what I was looking forGreat app easy and to straight to the point. I do wish there was a way for the habits instead of only choosing the dates to do them having the option of how many times per week you’d like to do such activity. Other than that it’s pretty good so far . So thanks devs.Version: 1.3.8

Absolutely love it!Discovered this app while looking for a way to help my kids develop healthy routines and take a bit more responsibility for being organised and helping out around the house. All I can say is - result! Today my eldest (10yo) asked if he could hoover the living room to get more XP so he could battle the next monster! Only extra I’d like would be to be able to drag and drop the order of the entries - I don’t always group them when I put them in and it would be easier for the boys to have all the morning tasks together :-) Overall a super free app and I will be buying the upgrade as it has been so successful using the free version..Version: 1.2.4

Love it!! 3 “flaws” preventing me from upgrading. It’s great and motivating to lil’ ADHD me!! Three “flaws” that I see so far: 1) I can’t find a way to make the end of day a different time, other than midnight! 2) theres no way to mark a habit as “done” if you don’t have it planned for that day. This makes me not want to upgrade because if I do, I can’t have an accurate account of how many times per week I’ve actually done a habit. 3) there’s no way to have habits be a certain # of times per week (unplanned). If these were fixed (at least 1 & 2), I’d upgrade, but as it is, I don’t know if I can even use it for what I want. Being able to go back and check off tasks in the past would also go a long way!.Version: 1.2.3

Pretty goodSwitched to this after my previous gamified schedule builder broke. While completely different this works just as well, and also has a competitive aspect that might just be enough to motivate me through my bad days..Version: 1.3.0

It’s great!! 😀I’ve had difficulty for quite a while, completing things to do on my to do list even with ample time in the day. this app really helped me to gamify much of my life and goals. The only thing that’s lacking for me is not having monthly or bi-monthly habits. There are only daily habits that you can select days of the week to complete on..Version: 1.4.6

So far so goodSo far I like it. It’s nice to have gear and rewards for doing life tasks. I like that I can choose what kind of task is worthy of coins. I got it to help me do life with ADHD I think the only thing I’d pick on is the fact that the art is nice but it’s not the most appealing. I wish it was a little less cartoon and more of a beautiful epic game like League of Legends style or something. This style is kinda childish but it’s fine..Version: 1.3.8

I love this gamified habit trackerFirst and foremost I love this app! I’ve been searching for a habit tracker that is both functional and engaging/attractive to look at. I love gamification, and I think this is the best gamified habit tracker on the App Store. A few small suggestions after using it for a while: It would be great to add a “note” section to the habit and task entries. Also for the habits, it would be good if we could have additional frequency options such as “weekly,” “bi-weekly,” “monthly,” etc. And the English is very good, but there are still a few minor errors here and there. Again these are just some small suggestions, I think the app is great! Looking forward to future updates..Version: 1.1.2

Happy with Habit HunterMy accountability partner sound this app and to be honest I thought it was kind of nerdy. But after using it a bit, I actually like it! I find the app easy to navigate.I like that I can do tasks habits and goals. And I can customize due dates reminders and priority. I like that encourages larger goals and milestones within those goals. I’d definitely recommend this app..Version: 1.3.3

Level up your lifeI love the idea of leveling up my life and making progress towards my goals now if it could just pop up a window in my head whenever I want to say eat something I don’t need that would be great! Haha.Version: 1.4.5

Your Quest AwaitsI have always been a gamer and adventure by nature and I think the concept behind this App is Absolutely Brilliant! I really do feel it helps tremendously at structuring your day, completing “To Do” tasks and developing habits and I would love to see this app succeed and continue in its development. A couple suggestions I’d encourage for the developers; 1) the battle scenes could be a little more dramatic; I find the boost “advertisement break” absolutely kills the fighting experience. 2) I Loved meeting other characters in the game, but I wish there could be more interactions with them (maybe they could motivate you to accomplish some sort of personal development achievement and once completed they could help you on your quest; maybe give you bread and water for your journey = energy or let you trade for better weapons, magic spell or protection amulet). The Concept is Truly Brilliant and I think with a few tweaks it can be incredible.Version: 1.1.7

New habits possibleEspecially good for ADHD brains as you get a little dopamine hit for checking off your dailies like taking meds, doing dishes, self care, whatever. If you struggle with a thing you know SHOULD do, but you just CANT or don’t want to, THIS WILL HELP! Tasks can be assigned to days of the week, but monthly tasks would be a nice addition (bill payment and the like, y’all don’t under the struggle to remember this stuff). Monsters can be hard to fight in the beginning, but you get 30% revives by watching a commercial (totally got one of the games too)..Version: 1.3.1
