It works, but...Look, the globes themselves are cheap as hell, have a solid brightness and work legitimately well. I have no complaints with the hardware. The app however... the app is far too basic for its own good. It does the job it’s meant to do, but not a step beyond this. Pressing and holding on the home screen should have the options to toggle ‘favourite’ lights that you can set in app. On top of this, why is there no widget? Functionality in the real world would be greatly improved with widgets, hold menu options, and even a toggle in the Control Centre. This makes it a lot easier to ‘flick the switch’ as it were. As it stands, it’s actually faster for me to get out of bed, flick the lights off at the switch, then get back into bed than it is to open the app, wait for loading and connecting, then pressing the button and closing the app again. Another option would be for Siri Shortcut integration. As I said earlier, the hardware itself is absolutely on point, no quality issues there, and beats out systems 2-3x the price for me. The app however? That’s the entire breaking point for the system, because there is no redundancy..Version: 1.1.2

Good but needs a lot of workI got this a few months ago and I love changing the colours of it on my phone. But the bad thing about it is that sometimes when I go onto the app to change the colour it just does nothing so I have to reset my phone to change the colour of the lights. Also sometimes when I go on the app now it says “device is offline check you’re wifi” so I check the wifi and the wifi is on so I go back onto the app and it still say the device is offline. I even tried turning my data on but it still didn’t work. This is not that great :/.Version: 1.0.9

App is quite restrainingIf you have bought multiple of these strips and try to use the music feature you are only able to do so with one strip, even so if your phone turns off it stops the music feature which I find quite silly. The presentation of the app is good but I feel they’ve spent more time on aesthetics more than how the app actually works. With the actual strip of lights itself I found quite frustrating as the stick just stuck to the paper bit of the leds and led to a very frustrating 30 minutes. There are a lot of things this strip doesn’t do that many other strips can do..Version: 1.1.3

Used to be 5 starEdit 14 dec 21. With the ios 15 update the cameras no longer work on landscape. Its ok with the phone but bad on the ipads. The technical dept still does not know how to fix it. I don't have problems with other brand camera only the genio. Ill bring back to 5 star when it get fixed. Considering i have 12 genio cameras altogether i want this fixed asap. Thanks. Love it. The bulbs are affordable and easy to install. I can’t believe I got Phillips hue and missed this product. Got the bulbs, down lights which is 3 times less in value compared to the hue and it fits on our existing down lights. Didn’t need an electrician to install whew thank goodness. It didn’t need a bridge as the hue. Connects on its own individual items. Really easy to set up. Now I can tell google to turn all the lights off at once. Does anyone want to buy my hues? Now off to get the security cameras..Version: 1.1.4

V1.2.6 needs updatingUsually a half decent app, but since updating my iOS, my devices one by one have reset themselves and will not re-sync to my account. The devices enter pairing mode when turned on manually, do not register as being on in the app, and every time I try to add the device back it says ‘failed to add’ or ‘can’t find wifi’ and just start flashing again. I’ve deleted the devices and tried re-adding them but that does not work either. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. The devices sync just fine to my partners phone who is still on the old iOS. This is incredibly infuriating, not being able to use any of my lamps or downlights because they just flash (VERY brightly and fast, whose idea was that!?).Version: 1.2.6

No yellow or white light in my fairy lightsI know my fairy lights can do yellow (I see it for a fraction of a second when it’s on gradient fade pattern) but the app has in calibrated wrong or the lights are calibrated wrong. Yellow is green, and white is cyan. Really disappointed because they are very pretty otherwise. I tried almost every set of lights in the store and they were all like this, (both the matte extra colours version, and the glassy 7 lights+combo version do this). If the lights are calibrated wrong on their default setting, please please please just let me customise the RGB values instead of using the colour picker. (The glassy lights have even less customisation then the matte lights and it really doesn’t need to be so). Please let me calibrate both the matte and glassy sets through the app. I feel like these should be recalled but I know they can work!.Version: 1.2.6

Can’t get the globes to stay connectedI will never waist my money on these gloves ever again. The system is so frustrating you will walk into the room turn on the light switch manually and the lights blink needing to be reconnected to the phone app always at the worse time. Or like now I downloaded an update and lost all my connections to two rooms and now for the life of me I can’t get the globes to blink so that I can set each light to the app. What a waste of money and time. Why do the globes have to be what we control wouldn’t it be better to have the light switch that connects to wifi so you can Just use any globes. WILL NEVER BUY THIS BRAND AGAIN..Version: 1.1.4

FRUSTATINGI got my mirabella colour changing light for my room and at first it refused to connect. i tried every single connection way and it took way too much time and every time told me my connection was too weak even though it was fine as it was. wifi got a little annoying so i caved in and bought a $90 wifi extender. it took 30 MINUTES to connect and now every time i want to connect it to the app i need to go through another pain staking 5 minutes of waiting for it to read it as online before i can use it and on top of that it’s unbelievably laggy. i hate this and i’ve been trying to get it to connect now for 15 minutes straight and it just says it’s offline but it’s stuck on the last colour i put it as.Version: 1.1.3

Would of given 5, but the latest update has massive bugsAfter the recent update (past week) the app is turning on different lights, saying that lights are on when they aren’t (after I turned them off). This is hard when I turn off our lounge room light and instead the app turns on my baby’s room lamp. But the app shows that both lights are off. To add to this, my latest bulb, and only rainbow bulb, never connects/stays connected, to the point I’m going to buy a normal globe and not have a smart globe. Almost uselessI’ve 5 connected devices, 4 lights and a smart IR, all located mere meters away from my modem. The one star is for the smart IR as it works 100% of the time and has been a godsend as I’ve managed to lose all of my remote controls…. But otherwise this app/product is a complete fail. A few years ago all the lights functioned ok as in they worked maybe 2/3 of the time, but for a good year now NONE of them remain connected for more than a day before mysteriously going offline, something that requires a ridiculously complicated and time consuming amount of wizardry to rectify, tho it often won’t work and if it does it won’t last. Seriously Genio, how hard should it be to turn on a light? A smart home app? Hell no, buying light bulbs three time the price of regular ones that almost never work so when you’re all cozy in bed and about to drift off to sleep you have to get up to turn off the f$@%ing light, that’s a stupid home. I’ve gone back the old school method, ie my finger.Version: 1.2.6

Its ok but needs major improvemebts for all compatible apps for the Universal IR RemoteGiving it a 3 Star because not enough features for the remote, instructions are crappy, it wont get like VCR option remote if you don't have one for it like LG CC993TW for example, turns on/off TV great but cant change the other TV functions like imputs with google assistant, the brand Bauhn for soundbar is not included, Sony PS4 is not Compatible, Apple TV wont turn on with google assistant, Arlec is a better app and was developed by them but all apps supports the IR remotes needs an update asap to get it compatible with all remotes including Apple TV, All VCRs and vice versa..Version: 1.1.4

Could use more featuresI don't understand why using a "scene" with a rotation of colours has such harsh transitions; even at the slowest speed and with the breath setting, the changes between colours aren't smooth at all- less like a relaxing visual experience and more like a rave where the lighting is malfunctioning. And yes, it's obviously possible for the changes to be smoother, because when you manually change the colours on the wheel it travels through the all the colours in a nice gradient..Version: 1.2.1

Do not recommendThe worst thing i’ve ever downloaded. it’s so bad i do not recommend buying it or anything involved using this. i had to log in and when i try to connect my device it never worked even when i followed the instructions. i am not dissing this product in any way i am simply informing people about the issues of the product. This device is very bad and it’s very hard to connect, you have to sign up which in my opinion is very stupid considering all your trying to do is just connect your item. I was trying to connect it and it didn’t work at all it just kept flashing, which is very bad for people with epilepsy which could lead to bad outcomes for them. I would recommend putting a warning on the app that states that there is going to be flashing lights. It really hurts peoples eyes. Once again very bad app and do not recommend downloading it.Version: 1.1.4

Good concept, horrible executionThis lightbulb may seem super convenient, but the app design and usability renders this bulb almost useless. The time it takes to open this slow app and flick the switch is considerably slower and more inconvenient than just getting up and using the light switch on the wall. Connecting bulbs to the app is equally as inconvenient. If your Mobile, bulb and modem aren’t very close together you will find it quite hard to connect. And once connected, a bulb can’t be moved to a different room even if it still uses the same wifi and it will have to be reset and re connected. Would not waste my money on this again..Version: 1.1.2

2 axis solar tracking array controllerI use the app to control my 2 axis tracking solar arrays, my security, pool chlorination and home automations, so my Automations are quite complex. Some technical instructions (help) would be helpful as you are left to learn via trial and error. It would be good if you could edit Tasks once they are made or edit/change their order. It would be helpful if you had the option to select date and month in the Schedule (I change my solar tracking monthly). It would be helpful if there was indication of what Tap-to-run is linked to what Automation and what ones are active..Version: 1.1.1

Too late nowIf you are reading this, it is too late for you now as you have probably already purchased a bulb. You will soon find that no matter what you do, even if you have a Phd in Electronic Communication that it is not possible to join the bulb to your wifi network. Further to this, you won’t be able to return it because you will have jumped up and down on the bulb as a favour to anyone else foolish enough to try it themselves. This goes way beyond being a consumer quality concern, all the repeated bulb flashing, timeouts, wifi password entry is a danger to anyones mental state. Mirabella, you have a serious functional defect going on here..Version: 1.1.4

Camera with light set upEverything works well with connecting to lights and they work perfectly. The camera works at the best of times. You can watch in real time while it is recording. Though the issue for us has been with connectivity with the inserted memory card, it doesn’t always record properly with still frame or not downloading at all to the card to watch a replay. In the past update it has been better though. Hopefully with continuing updates it will get better..Version: 1.1.4

Getting better slowlyThe app has come quite a long way, however it’s functionality is still a bit slow and the interface is still slightly laggy. Also it’s very infuriating not being able to connect my Mirabella Genio light up to Apple Home to be able to use with Siri. Even though you have the option to integrate Tap to Run scenes into Siri, she will does not have access to carry out this command without Genio being added to Apple home, you can still use Apple Quick View to activate Tap to Run scenes from the Lock Screen, but still. It’s frustrating that I would have to buy an Alexa just to turn the light on with my voice when Siri should be able to just do it for me, until Siri has proper integration with the app. I will be leaving this review here for you to motivate you, cheers..Version: 1.2.2

Good but needs workStarted using schedules but found: 1. Time zone for South Australia is 30 minutes out so that I have to offset the times to make it work properly. 2. Time zones are indexed/grouped by alpha geographic area and then alpha by city. Very strange way to present as when I scrolled down alphabetically my city appeared to be missing. Most other time zone lists are simply alpha by city. Not easy to find a city until I realised there is a search option. Simple stuff usually but should it be so hard? 3. When setting the on off schedule the word currently is used. eg currently on and then currently off. Is this just bad use of English language as I think what is meant is turn on and turn off or switch on or switch off rather than the current or actual state of the device as of this moment..Version: 1.1

Not great home securityThis camera is ok to look at live but to go back through pictures is very painful. It picks up every slight little movement and your phone is constantly buzzing even on the lowest movement alarm setting. I tried to go over footage for a week I was away and it’s got a snap shot of every single minute in a long list that you have to scroll hours to get through. I’ve been trying for three hours and I’m only up to 28th of December. Not a good system at all. Zero updates to help this. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who wants to go back over photos and footage but to look through live is ok..Version: 1.1.3

Power Boards are terrible from this company!Power boards from this company are the worst to connect and keep connected. just turn themselves off on their own and disconnect from wifi even when there is a strong wifi signal on other mygenio products next to the power boards. Try to reconnect and the process is changed and keeps failing to connect when there is a strong wifi signal. The app and products are janky and sometimes do not work… Mirabella always just keep saying the same story “check your wifi. Your modem is the problem… my powerboard now doesn’t even show on the list of products when trying to reconnect. I have 3 power boards that are exactly the same. Turn themselves off and now can’t reconnect them and use with google. Waste of time!.Version: 1.2.2

App crashingI have had my light for over a year now and it has been great, but lately any time i go into the app to change the colour or turn it off/on it always says my device is offline even when my light is on right in front of me, and i check im connected to the wifi,that im on the proper device, that the switch on the wall is on. Nothing works and then i have to go and reset the light completely by flicking it until it’s flashing which takes ages and isn’t convenient when i’ve just woken up or trying to sleep, i brought these lights because my bedroom switch is far from where my bed is and i have back problems but having to get up over and over because of the app is making things overly difficult it’s very poor.Version: 1.1.4

Great, but plan feature does not workI like the app and all its features, but they do not necessarily work like they should. The plan feature for example does not work. Only really connects & does not work with Apple HomeLiterally spent 20 minutes trying to set this up flicking the switch on and off with nothing working. I came back a few days later and it was working for one day and then stopped working again asking me to set it up again. Also it only works with Amazon Alexa and Google assistant I’m not Apple Home. My smart home automation is Apple Home so this bulb is useless for use with Siri..Version: 1.1.4

Please fix the “detected movement” notificationsThis app would be incredible if not for the constant, bogus “detected movement” notifications that are every 7 minutes or so. every time i check there’s nothing there so it is clearly either a glitch or way too sensitive (it might be sending the movement of the trees in the distance? not sure). it’s the second time these have started happening out of nowhere (first time i just took the camera down and didn’t use it for weeks and then set it up again). if this can please be rectified as getting these notifications round-the-clock is overwhelming. it makes me not bother checking them or the app at all which defeats the purpose for me entirely.Version: 1.2.6

LED Bar LightsI love my led bar lights but there is one inconvenience, and thats the music mode/ option because when i go to use the music mode i have to have my phone still turned on for it to work and i cant use bluetooth devises with it. So i went to the F&Q and went to the ‘Music comes out of the phone instead of the Bluetooth when i turn the app on’ and it told Me to upgrade the app and i went to the app store to see if it would update and it said latest update was 1yr ago. and i was wondering if there is any other way for me to use Bluetooth devises with the app? Ps:could you please reply with a solution or idea please.Version: 1.1.4

App keeps crashingI have been using this app for about a year and it wasn’t the easiest to attach cameras and lights but eventually happened. From that point there weren’t too many issues except connecting up the the battery controlled cameras once in awhile. Over the last month though the battery cameras rarely connect and when connecting to the mains camera it has crashed the app so badly it wouldn’t even allow me to do a reset and had to wait 5 minutes for it to reset the phone by itself..Version: 1.2.2

Don’t even try the pet feeder!First machine was working fine for 1 day then started to feed at random times. Customer service really tried to help, but I did countless amount of tries to reconnect it, delete app, monitor it, a lot of stress when you go to work and don’t know if your cat is going to be fed. A week of communicating with customer service every day and I ended up returning it to the store and getting replacement thinking that first one was faulty. Second one worked for 2 weeks which made me believe everything was fine! BUT it also started giving food at random times. Customer service again was pretty efficient and the engineers made an update which seemed to work for a week. Today it just stopped working. Reconnection is not happening, impossible to add the device to the app. Lights behaving weird, not like before. (Feeder is full of food and wifi is working). This was it. Ordered a non wifi one from AliExpress. This one goes back to the store. Just a thought, we can’t even make a normal pet feeder but trust electronics to move our bodies on the roads. I wouldn’t let my life be depended on electronics. We are too far from that yet..Version: 1.2.2

One hour of my life lost technologyTechnology should just work. Unfortunately, I have tried to make this device work without success. The help and support tools are terrible. The pairing process requires the lite the flicker on and off quickly until the device pairs. WARNING for epilepsy sufferers this can trigger an episode. I must have tried to pair 10 times. I would recommend anyone affected by epilepsy to not perform this pairing process it is dangerous. Another frustrating thing was having to enter my password details even though I was logged into the Genio App. I can tolerate this once but 10 times becomes painful. Unfortunately, the cost of this device is beyond the supermarket price and I will struggle to see any value purely because I’m scarred by first impressions..Version: 1.1.4

What’s wrong with the App?I’m in love with my Mirabella Smart Home light, it works like a charm. The only thing I don’t like is the app. It’s currently very slow as to connecting and I have to go in and out of the app several times just to change the colour. I would like to see an update in order to help better improve the apps issues resolving around this. Other than that, I highly recommend getting yourself one of these products😊.Version: 1.2.6

Something updated in the app and now i cant use itI bought the sunset lamp from kmart last year and thought it was great. It connected to my phone no problems and i never had any issues with it. I have now gone to use it again and i apparently have ti connect to the wifi through the app and then connect the device. The wifi connects. great! or so i think. i have restarted the lamp 10 times and i still cant connect my phone to it. its now completely useless and i feel like ive been scammed out if my money. disappointing af..Version: 1.2.6
