Marvis Pro for Positive User Reviews

Beautiful appThis app is brilliant, I love the customisability and the beautiful clean interface. It has helped me discover music a lot easier than the native Apple Music app. This app is so much better, no competition..Version: 5.0

Best Music PlayerAs the title says it, this is easily the best music player out right now. The customization is limitless and completely replicates what most computer software can do. I especially love how I can use specific filters and smart rules to create random mixes on the fly. Not only that, but the people behind this software have excellent customer service. At one point I wanted some help and when I reached out I got a response within minutes. I have no complaints at all, only praise. My only desire is if crossfading was integrated when it’s not dependent on the stock app. Other then that Marvis is amazing! Thank you so much for this great app!.Version: 5.2

Pretty Much Essential For Apple Music FansA huge amount of customisation makes this an essential app for Apple Music fans. Being able to configure where and how you want your music to be displayed is so refreshing rather than being tied down to what someone else thinks you should be looking at when browsing a music app. Highly recommended..Version: 6.5

My New Favorite AppAfter being disappointed with the native IOS 14 music widgets I was curious if there were other alternatives. This app is it! Not only does it have widgets but it also displays music stats such as most played songs, albums, artists etc. You can basically customize every aspect of this app, except actual widget customization. Hoping to maybe see that in another update. I would also love to see the Full Player use the entire screen in the iPad version of the app, and I’m DYING to see a music visualizer feature. With the hyper customization available through this app, having a super customizable visualizer would be a dream come true. Excited to see future updates!.Version: 6.4

One App to Rule All AppsThe best of the best so far. Now even better with live activities. Just FYI there’re some minor bugs with the meta in the live activities though (time left stopped when the song is repeated, or lyrics doesn’t show anything…) but I’m sure this amazing dev will squash them all..Version: 8.3

Deep, powerful, and beautifulI have been using Marvis Pro for several years now, and it has genuinely changed how I listen to music. The idea of streaming has so much potential, but the default apps (Apple Music, Spotify etc.) are so restrictive, and feel designed in a way that works against real discovery and exploration. Marvis has basically let me build my own custom 'music exploration' app, powered under the hood by Apple Music. The customisation options it allows are so deep and powerful, it is perhaps best understood as a 'kit' you use to build your own music app, exactly how you want to. If you can think of something, there's probably a way to do it — the possibilities are almost endless. Having said that, it's also really well-designed, so feels safe to mess around with; it's essentially foolproof, so you can never mess anything up. It also looks and feels beautiful to use, feeling like a native app. This app won't be for everyone, but if a deep level of customisation appeals to you, you will absolutely love it. A huge thank you to the developer, who (amazingly) built this more-or-less by himself I believe!.Version: 9.4

Great app!Great review but I wish there was a way for you to sort playlists by last played..Version: 6.4.1

Very good, needs MV supportI’m very impressed by Marvis. The layout and functionality is surprisingly customizable. I have a number of filters and sort criteria on the home section that streamline navigating my library while also being more aesthetically pleasing than the stock music app. I have only a couple of negatives to mention. One is the lack up support for manipulating the “Up Next” queue. This may not be something specific to this app, but rather a limitation of iOS. It’s tolerable though, since the drag-and-drop option menu essentially functions the same way. If I only want to hear a single song, I can tap and hold a song and drag it to the “Now Playing” option, rather than being forced to swipe left on every individual song in the “Up Next” queue that follows it. Another thing that would improve this app is music video support. Currently, I can play music videos from my library in this player, but only with audio. The video is replaced with a still thumbnail image taken from the video. I reopened the stock music app for the first time in several weeks because I wanted to watch some of my music videos. Other than some small bugs and desirable features, I thoroughly recommend Marvis. It is completely worth the price I paid for it, and it’s several times better than Apple’s Music app..Version: 5.0.6

I couldn’t ask for anything betterThis is honestly just a praise for this app. it’s everything i’ve wanted and been looking for. I can organize my playlists on a grid and in multiple rows. how’s the developer even going to update an already perfect app, I don’t know but i’m so excited to find out. why are you even reading this, it has 5 stars and it’s literally free. 🫶🏼.Version: 8.3.2

Almost perfectOne key feature missing: ability to download songs from within the app Would also LOVE a small cloud icon on the top right of the homepage to toggle the local/iCloud songs without having to open the sidebar. But overall this is incredible. Can organize my music exactly how I like!! Edit: thank you for the developer response!.Version: 5.0.1

Best app I’ve ever spent my money onThis app is the reason I’ve grown to love Apple Music. While I love the design of the stock Apple Music app, absolutely nothing beats the shocking amount of things this app can do. The two things that made me fall in love with this app was built in and background Last.FM scrobbling (I bought the Last.FM+ IAP) and the gestures used to navigate between the pages in the app. It’s so convenient to swipe right and hold to navigate through the app! Plus, you can customize your app and pages literally however you’d like. Thank you dev for this beautiful app!!.Version: 7.0

It’s a 5 star experience…The player however is just not it, like no. I’m sorry the album art should be centred with the text to the left please 🙏 also the lyrics need to show up in app like how Spotify/Apple Music do it. If that was changed I literally wouldn’t use any other music app. As a side note idk if y’all can do this but the ability to use chromecast as well as airplay would be pretty groovy!.Version: 8.1

Thank You! Love it, but I do have one issueThis makes my Apple Music experience much improved! However, in the app on the Home Screen, the top left three lines to click to get into the main menu is cut off and can barely just see the edges of those lines to click to get into…. Using iPhone Pro 13 iOS 16.3 - I try to rely on the swipe gesture but even that seems like it’s detection might be cut off or something as I have to do the tiniest swipe from the exact edge.Version: 8.3.2

What the stock player should beThis app is wonderfully laid out, has a fluent, well considered UI and is a celebration of ergonomic design. For some reason, when I first searched for an alternative to the stock application, this application never surfaced. It is the best replacement for those not interested in Apple Music. With the stock app I was always fighting with the interface, three clicks to rate a song and no way to see ratings in track listings. This application is fully customisable, choose the meta data you would like to see in listings be it ratings or play counts etc. Dark mode and a customisable home screen, lovely stuff. Due to Apple API restrictions, you can't add to a playlist or download from iCloud. The app allows you to open the Music app from within which helps. You can also create a Siri shortcut to add to a playlist which works well. Stop reading this and download it!.Version: 2.0

Exceeded my Expectations!I’m so happy I found this app. Marvis completely changes how I access & discover music. I love the many customization options and the slick, clean UI (the gestures, in particular, are very intuitive). I also love the ability to export/backup preferences and configurations. This provides peace of mind in case I ever need to reinstall the app or reset my phone. It also allows me to easily keep the setup in-sync between my iPhone and iPad. The stock Apple Music app has been replaced with Marvis on my primary iPhone Home Screen..Version: 6.7

Just perfect !!!Been using Marvis from the start and it just gets better and better . The new update fixed the issues with 13.4 :) Marvis just ticks all the right boxes and if your looking for a beautiful and more intuitive replacement for the mashed together stock music app ! Marvis has you covered and it’s what the stock app SHOULD have been like . Thank you Aditya Rajveer.Version: 5.0.6

Wish I could edit genres. This app shines for what it doesn’t have compared to Apple Music: the clutter, the dark patterns pushing you away from your library, the queueing nightmare. It brings its own complexity in the form of extensive settings for power users, but these are optional. The one limitation I’m still frustrated with is Genres, specifically the inability to change them. Apple Music is terrible at assigning genres, they’re all over the place and often outright wrong. But maybe there’s a hidden setting? Developer response was very good, updated review to 4 stars. But I wish there were in-app help to save us all some time..Version: 6.7.1

Best music app...Have used ios for years and only just discovered this app! Always been frustrated by apples own music app but this is exactly what a music app should be, well worth the money. Lots of different settings to make it how you want it so worth spending few minutes to set it up. Very user friendly, looks great! Clearly a well thought through, well designed app..Version: 6.4.3

HANDS DOWN THE BEST iOS MUSIC APP!I have been dreaming of a day when I can finally stop looking for decent music player app and I am excited to say my search is finally over. This Is the best music app I have ever used on iOS. Every detail, every action, every aspect of the app has been painfully designed with care and is natural to the user. Thank you for this stunning app. Please everyone buy this and support the author. Tip him and tip him often using in app purchases. I am a very pleased customer who finds beautifully designed software so blissful to use. There’s only a handful on iOS and this is one of them..Version: 4.1.1

Where has this app been all my life?So much customisation!! This app makes it so much easier to get straight into playlists I regularly listen to, and really make use of metadata. Love it.Version: 8.1

Fantastic!Does EVERYTHING and more! I love being able to customise every aspect of the app but the best part is being able to sort playlists. Thank you to the dev!!.Version: 6.7.1

Great app! Just one recommendationI love this app! It’s definitely the most reliable and cleanest music player app I’ve found. It would be great if you guys could add an equalizer. I would definitely pay for that as an additional feature. I’m not really a fan of apples built in presets since all headphones, speakers and monitors sound so different with the same EQ preset and would love the option to create our own EQ presets. Thanks a bunch for the great quality app!.Version: 4.1.3

Much better than IOS 13 Music AppBig improvement over IOS 13 standard app.Version: 5.0

This is what Apple Music should have beenThis is what Apple Music should have been.Version: 9.0.1

The best way to use Apple Music in iOSIt’s really nice to be able to open a music app and not be bombarded with whatever political affiliation or fringe ideology that Apple wants to shove in our faces. Are there some bugs? Sure, but they’re almost always entirely the fault of terrible iOS functionality. One day Apple will learn how to build an actual operating system, but Marvis will fill the hole for music in the meantime..Version: 9.0.1

Excellent music app upgradeWhat a great app. This doesn’t replace the stock app but more like a highly customizable pane of glass into the music app. The developer is active, responsive and listens to suggestions from his users on how to improve the app experience even more. Kudos!!!.Version: 9.0

The best Music experience on iOS!This is what the music app from Apple should be. I have a huge collection of music that I’ve built over the years. Over the past few iOS updates it seems like Apple is less focused on allowing me to browse my own library of music and more focused on pushing Apple Music. I love this app because it finally makes it feel like I can easily browse my library as easily as the original iPods. I especially like the ability to build a custom homepage of your music which includes pinning albums and playlists. I highly recommend this app to anyone with a large library who wants to take control of their music!.Version: 6.4.2

Brilliant app!I struggled a lot with library management as it is implemented in stock music player. Mostly jazz, classics and rock listener, I always wanted them to be visually separated and sorted differently – classics by composers, the other two by artists. Marvis with its filters and tabs solves that brilliantly and visually appealing. Well done!.Version: 6.5

Must-have for those who want to customise every single bit of their Apple Music experience.Great way to customise Apple Music. Working flawlessly with nearby HomePods too..Version: 6.7

Awesome appGreat Apple Music interface alternative. No real complaints beyond the limitations iOS has that Marvis is held back by.Version: 9.2.1

Amazing! Couple suggestions thoI love this app! the amount of customization is crazy good! however, I think the blurred backgrounds would look much nicer if they faded to the background for the next song, instead of just instantly changing. also I wish there was a setting to remove the sidebar button on the home page. i just swipe to trigger the sidebar and that button takes up a lot of space..Version: 9.3.5

Please bring back old sidebarI love this app and have used it for a couple years now. It has been given many new features overtime which is awesome, but for an app that prides itself in being highly customisable, it is weird to me the recently changed navigation sidebar can’t be switched to its classic version. I’ve used the new sidebar for a good while now so I’m used to it, but I still don’t like it. Also, with so many settings now present, a settings search would be highly beneficial if possible to implement. Those are my only suggestions, otherwise an amazing app that I highly recommend to anyone who uses Apple Music..Version: 9.3.5

Amazing, what Music app should be!This is what the Music app on iOS should be. The amount of customization options is mind blowing. I’m usually not one for excessive customization, but I think in the case of music, everyone listens to their music so differently that it just makes sense. The design, polish, function, and features here make this app an absolute must-have for music lovers. Thanks to the developer for so much time and care. I think the only thing I would change is the sidebar, which is often finicky to navigate and I think I’d rather have a customizable tab bar at the bottom in its place. But everything else is just so incredible about this app. I’d recommend it to anyone..Version: 5.0.1

Best alt stock music app out thereLove how it looks & how there’s a bigger focus on album artwork in this one. There is some issue though, when the app is in the background for some time, it seems to freeze up the playing controls, I can skip or go to previous songs fine but it won’t play any song again until I restart the app. Haven’t come across any other issues so far..Version: 5.2

Pleasant Surprise - Best Player YetI’ve been searching for a full time music player ever since Apple took all the functionality out of the Music App. I was a long time user of Cesium until the app became completely unstable and regressed. After much searching, saw this app creep up the charts and took the plunge. It has nearly EVERYTHING I’ve been looking for, in some form. The new Smart criteria allow me to start a lengthy playlist and resume whenever I please or organize my 25,000 song collection without the help of iTunes. My 100+ playlists are a breeze to navigate and sort. I haven’t even talked about how simple and beautiful the interface is. You can customize almost any view from the menus, to the navigation, to the player itself. Kudos to the developer. This may be my favorite app in the 11 years I’ve owned an iPhone..Version: 4.0.1

Best out thereThis app is the best Apple Music player out there. There is so much customization available it seems almost endless. UI and UX is amazing. Just from the user experience alone it is one of the best not just exclusive to music apps. There have been continuous additions made since its release. To top it off the app’s dev is probably the most responsive and open to suggestions one I’ve come across on the App Store. I wish this app and developer much success..Version: 3.2

Best Apple Music app everI wish I had discovered this sooner. Without any doubt this app has changed my Apple Music experience beyond recognition. Amazing..Version: 8.3.2

Packs a ton of options under the hoodThis app gives you the ability to use smart rules to filter and extract songs from both your music library and Apple Music, which unlocks music discovery and organization just the way you like it. The customization options are plentiful. Most limitations of the stock music app go away by using Marvis. If you love music and wish to rediscover your library, as well as amp up new music discovery on Apple Music, this app is for you..Version: 6.7.3

Closest app I know of to the original iPod music appUnlike Apple’s current music player app and other apps that strive to emulate it, this app shows the number of songs played in a playlist along with the total number of songs. This allows the number of remaining songs to be easily calculated. This capability helps ensure that songs are not deleted or repeated, which has been a common problem with recent versions of Apple’s music app since IOS 8, which this app successfully avoids. This app also shows relatively large album art on its screen compared to more recent Apple Music player app versions. Cesium used to be my third party music player of choice up until its recent versions eliminated the ability to see the list of upcoming songs, thereby eliminating the capability of determining if songs have been skipped or repeated. Mavis is now my music player app of choice and I highly recommend it for those who long for the simplicity of the original iPod music player, which can no longer be obtained from Apple..Version: 5.0.1

Get this app now if you have Apple MusicI have been using this app for about 3 years and let me tell you this app is a life changer. Imagine all the things that you can’t do in the native app or wished you could do. I’m pretty sure this app will let you do just that. This app is basically 100% customizable and also has lots of info you can access and sort by. This app has improved greatly between the first time I used it. The updates just keep making the app better and better. I appreciate the dedication the developer puts towards this app!.Version: 8.1

Marvis ProSimply the best music app out there. A joy to use. Looking forward to the native iPad version. Can't wait 👍.Version: 4.0.1

I’m loving itWhat a fantastic app - I love how it works. A couple of improvements I would suggest: A universal pull down to search. Ability to favourite a playlist or album, so it always appears on the top, regardless of the sort order. Cesuim - another music player app - does this to great effect..Version: 1.2

Magnificent music app!I’m really impressed with this app. It has a LOT of options, so it took me a while to get to grips with the customisation but it was well worth the effort. I now have a dashboard for Apple Music that presents my music preferences in exactly the way I want to see them. It’s great that it has an iPad version that takes full advantage of the larger screen too. Apple Music could learn a lot from this app! I’ve relegated Apple’s official app to the last page of my home screen and Marvis is now my go-to music portal. It does seem to make my iPhone XS Max run hot so I’ll have to keep an eye on that, but that’s the only minor criticism I have. Highly recommended!.Version: 5.3.1

It’s ‘THE’ Best In Class, Look No Further.I’ve used many apps in this category with many disappointments. This app has now attained a level of capability second to none. The UI, UX and the functionality cover almost everything you need. Simply buy it, don’t waste time and money on any others..Version: 9.4.1

Way better than the Apple Music appLots of options, looks nice, easy to use. And I love that I can scrobble albums without actually listening to them—I use this when I listen to an album on vinyl. Such a great app..Version: 7.0

Hannah LizzieA very good app.Version: 6.7.1

Money sell spentMy new default music app! I have moved the Apple Music app out of my dock. Great music application..Version: 5.1.2

Best music app I’ve ever foundIn the decade or so I’ve had an iPod and then an iPhone, I’ve struggled with the ups and mostly major downs of the native music app. I’ve probably worked through five or six various replacement music apps over the years. With the ios13 update rendering my most recent app unusable and the native app still unacceptable, I gambled on this one. Unequivocally it’s the best music app ever I’ve tried. It just simply works, is intuitive, and can very likely be customized for your personal tastes. So many choices!! Highly recommended. I don’t think you will be disappointed. I wasn’t..Version: 4.1.1

Must have for Apple Music Users! A couple suggestions.App is great but please add playback speed like other players have. Edit: Proactive developer responded to my review. Wish I was using this app years ago. Stop thinking just buy. Review changed from 4>5 I absolutely love this app after months of using it. It is a must have and really the only reason I keep an iPhone. Worth every penny. Please make lyrics automatic when the song switches so I don’t have to hit the button every song 🙏.Version: 8.4

The bestMarvis is the best music player I’ve found for the iPhone and I’ve tried quite a few. It basically operates as an improved interface to the Apple Music app, so, if I’m not mistaken, it has the same limitations to music quality (AAC files). However, if that isn’t an issue to you, this app has a very nice looking interface, intuitive swipe gestures, customizable screen and colors and lots of options. Well maintained as well, it’s always worked flawlessly for me. Since I got it, I’ve never felt the need to use any other music app. So good, many thanks to the Marvis team..Version: 6.7

Powerful alternative music playerThis music player is very powerful. It can feel busy at times, but if you scrutinize, rate, organize your music experience then this is for you. The ability to have landscape mode is a great addition. My only thing I would like to see if some way to differentiate songs when viewing music in the drop down option. It’s hard to tell where the last song of an album is before the next one is. Perhaps highlight the songs in a different gradient to its easier to see. Other than that. I love it..Version: 5.3.1

I don’t usually write reviews, but...This app is truly a work of art. I was on the fence about buying it without trying for $4, but I 100% made the right choice. There is a ton of customization you can make on this app. If you’re wondering if it’s possible, it probably is. There’s more customization than I actually needed, but it’s nice to have the extra options and I’m sure people will be using the options I don’t. The app runs very smoothly with no bugs that I’ve seen yet. The app icons are a nice touch, and the aesthetic of the app in general is pleasing. Lastly, the developer is very responsive on social media, including reddit. He was happy to help me with any questions I had, and went into great detail explaining how his app works regarding my question. I am more than happy to spend $4 to support a fellow developer that’s doing a fantastic job! All in all, this is a must have if you’re a power user for managing your music library. There’s a reason this app has overwhelmingly positive reviews!.Version: 3.3.1

AmazingAmazing app! What the stock app should be! My only problem is that there needs to be a option to turn on and off lyrics. And a visualiser would be amazing ( just like vox music player). Other that it’s amazing, would of paid £10 if I had to.Version: 2.1.1

A great front end for AMI would also add that the developer has been very responsive to requests for advice and help both individually and on social media..Version: 9.4.1

As necessary as Apple Music itselfMarvis Pro’s last.fm support is enough. It’s hard to find a working Apple Music scrobbler, and this one is good: it consistently catches those that could have slipped through with other live scrobblers. The customization, nice use of colours, widgets, icons and more are gravy, too..Version: 6.7.3

WonderfulI can’t believe I have only just discovered this. It is truly wonderful and would recommend to anyone who wants a music app that can do more than the default apple app..Version: 8.3.2

Absolutely essential for those who've long hated the stock Music appThis app is nothing short of amazing, albeit embarrassing, in comparison to Apple's breathtakingly underwhelming and non-user friendly stock Music app. it does everything you've wanted the Music app to do for years, and even more. the level of customization is nothing short of critical for us (digitally) neurotic organizers who were stranded and left ignored by Apple long ago when it came to "Music". this IS the only solution when looking for a replacement to the ridiculously dumbed-down and offensively un-customizable stock app we've been stuck with for so many years. there is almost nothing negative to say about this app; don't waste time testing any other free music players or managers. this is the new flagship for a music library (both Apple Music, and local) on the iPhone. money more than well spent..Version: 6.4

AmazingWhat I’ve been looking for! What a solid app, works way more smoothly than the default Apple Music app. Airplay is way more solid, and the customizability is insane. Impressed!.Version: 6.5

Great app! This app is a very aesthetically pleasing app and is customisable for your needs/likes. This has a much richer and premium design than the basic stock Music app design and lets you customise your background, theme style (light or dark mode) and many more! It helps you find your music easier by letting you sort your music by date added, year, last played, etc. You can also track your play count which is very interesting to watch how your music taste evolves. Overall, this app is great and gives you many more advantages over the everyday Apple Music user and is definitely worth the money! One thing i suggest is a new section to “Home” which includes your favourite albums for easy access to the music you like..Version: 2.1.2

This is how it is done!Apple - take note of this. A beautiful interface to your Apple Music and iTunes collections. Amazing sorting and grouping functions that reflects how we used to interact with piles of cds, boxes of cassettes or racks of records. I have created playlists to dump stuff in - Marvis allows me to make sense of my own library. Love it but please release an iPad version!.Version: 4.1.3

Just WOW!!This is hands down the best music player app that I have ever come across. Money well spent on an awesome & amazing music player app that gives me so much happiness. I’ve tried plenty of Apple Music player apps but nothing comes close to Marvis pro, a spectacular music player app for iPad. Two thumbs up!! Keep up the good work..Version: 5.3.1

Great at everything I wanted to do!I wanted to be able to view playlists by artists, see a count of the number of artists in playlists, and not waste a lot of space on a huge header when viewing playlists as album covers, and this app does a great job of all of that. I also love being able to customize the home page: I’m currently displaying a few playlists, recently added albums, recently played songs, and most played artists. Creating a shuffle playlist of album covers and pulling down to refresh it to get some random albums to listen to is also really nice. It looks like it could handle anything I might want to do in the future as well..Version: 7.1

Nothing Less Than ImpressiveClean, DARK MODE, can turn off or on icloud (I don't like using data), tonnes of customization options but simplistic in layout. Well thought out and worth the one time price. Finally something great! I hate the default app and apple's music service in general.Version: 1.2.1

Fantastic appI’ve only had this app for a few hours but so far I’m blown away with it. I’ve been using WidgetPod by the same developer for ages so thought I’d try this out and I’m glad I did, it’s great. I did have one thing that I needed clarification on (I couldn’t find my downloaded music) so I emailed Aditya, the developer, who very quickly got back to me and explained everything I needed to know (and more). I literally couldn’t ask for more. If you listen to Apple Music on your phone you should absolutely purchase this app..Version: 9.3.5

Just amazing. Design it how you wantI’m very picky with my music players (Cesium, Doppi and Soor) and this one is absolutely fantastic. You can customise to fit you and developer responds promptly to feedback and suggestions.Version: 4.0.1

Hands Down the Best Music AppI am continuously impressed by the features I keep finding in this app. As someone who listens to entire albums at a time, it’s great being able to create a playlist full of albums I want to listen to, then group it as actual albums instead of songs. Every single bit of this app is customizable, but in an approachable way that doesn’t overwhelm. Couple that with a very responsive developer and this is one of my favorite apps of all time..Version: 3.1.1

The bestBest music app on the store, simple as that..Version: 5.1.1

Wonderful Music app!The organization of this app is fantastic! I love the ability to change my search features and display, while still being able to use my personal library. The widget is also fantastic to use! Displays the current song and it will even allow you to turn on notifications for when the song changes (which is great when you are zoned out and want to know you song choices)! Thanks again for some great development and can't wait to see how this app evolves for the future!.Version: 6.4.3

Best app everMarvis Pro is truly the best app in the App Store. This is the reason the App Store was created in the first place, an amazing developer scratching his own itch and creating something so amazing that thousands of people now cannot live without. If you use Apple Music, either the streaming service or just with your own library (or both), you need to get this app and then join the official subreddit. It’ll transform how you interact with your music and you’ll realise just how bad the Apple Music app is. I can’t remember the last time I opened Apple Music and I pay for the streaming service!.Version: 9.0

Brilliant! Well done.I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for more than what the music has to offer. Beautiful design, create user interface with the ability to customise fully. Widgets are also fantastic. Well worth the money!.Version: 8.1

My favorite music app! This is the best, Apple Music companion app I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried pretty much all of them. I consider myself a super user, and I can pretty much customize just about every single thing about the app that I want to. And it doesn’t have any of the things that I consider annoying from Apple Music like advertising and pushing artists that I don’t want to listen to. It’s really fun to fit it to my exact needs and wants and it has unquestionably helped me enjoy music more..Version: 8.3.2

AwesomeMy music how I want it. Lots of choices but result is ideal views for each grouping. Would be even better if plex was a choice as well as Apple Music..Version: 4.1.2

Must have for Apple Music usersThis takes Apple Music to a whole new level—so many customization options to help you experience your music just the way you like it..Version: 9.3.5

Simply the bestEvery day I wonder how I lived without this app. Apple should be ashamed of the state of the stock music app, and learn something from this developer. Marvis provides very intuitive controls with innovative solutions to navigation with the sidebar for example. It even provides more information than is viewable in iTunes on desktop! 10/10 app, literally indispensable for me now..Version: 8.3.1

Brilliantly made, brilliantly played! No, I don’t know what it’s supposed to mean. IT RHYMES, AND YOU KNOW IT RHYMES! ADMIT IT! Oh yeah — this app is the teets, my dude..Version: 8.3.1

Solid app. Solid sound. At last! This has the best sound of any music player in the app store. And believe me I've tried loads. Just needs cue/up next feature and I'll be happy..Version: 1.0.2

Great App! A Few Suggestions...Is it possible to have a search bar at the top. This way it avoids a swipe and tap to search a song? This option could be turned off and on in settings. Another suggestion is for the New Releases and Coming Soon, can we customize it to the genre of music we like? Also, I've noticed if I'm playing a song in the background and I open the app, the time where it shows the song at is wrong, the time bar has to catch up. Can it be changed to show the correct time right away? Can the volume bar at the bottom be longer? Thanks! I totally recommend this app!.Version: 3.1.1

Fantastic App! Unbelievable interaction and support!I was looking for an alternative to the base music app. After spending some time searching and researching, i stumbled across Marvis on a blog online. I read the article then the comments on it. And to my absolute astonishment the creator of the app was there talking to people and building on their feedback and ideas. I then noticed how almost every if not every single review on here had developer feedback. I looked at the reviews and purchased the app. Within 1 hour of downloading and using the app i ran across a problem (that turned out to be user error on my end). I DM’d the Twitter profile for this app and had a response in 5 minutes. Me and the person i was talking to trouble shot for 15 minutes until i realized my error. I do not have enough kind and supportive words for this app and it’s developer..Version: 1.2.1

Can’t stop using it.This continues to be the best player for playing music on iOS, by far. Now not only does it have Apple Music integration, but it also still offers crazy amounts of customization on visuals and sorting. There’s little things like metadata that I always appreciate as well. Thanks for letting me beta test the app as well to work around an issue I was facing. The issue is resolved, and the developers are super responsive and friendly on Twitter and are at the ready to fix issues. My favourite app update was the one that included an issue resolution for a single user running iOS 11. That’s dedication. Looking forward to the little upcoming changes like true black Dark Mode and artist/playlist/album banner art. The developers have even mentioned that dedicated iPad and Watch apps are in the wings. Watch app and complication would be a game changer, and I can’t imagine just how beautiful this app will look on the new iPad Pro..Version: 3.0

Everything I’ve WantedThis app came highly recommended on Reddit. Just got it today and already it’s one of my top 5 apps. It offers almost everything I’ve found lacking with the Music iOS app. Tons of customizations, listing track count at the TOP of playlist, even on outside of playlist, now playing notifications, and an actual live, working widget just to name a few..Version: 6.5

Great app for Apple MusicGreat app to sort and play your Apple Music library with loads of features and a customisable UI. Just wish the stock AM app had half the functionality. * Create your own home screen with a mixture of artists, albums, songs, playlists, radio stations, recommendations etc. that you want to access easily. * Order/sort all of the above based on date added, play count, last played. * Gesture controls make navigating the UI easy and intuitive. * Only downsides are due to the limitations of AM’s API - can add to queue, but not edit it within the app. Can add music to your library, but not remove it. Can’t view social/follower profiles and music. Relies on the stock app for playback. Overall though, fantastic 3rd party app for AM users..Version: 3.3.1

AmazingJust awesome. Lets me set up my Apple music interface the way I want.Version: 8.3

Worth every pennyIf you’ve been using the stock Music app for long enough, eventually you run into things you wished it did better. Widgets behaviors you wished you could tweak, UI layout doesn’t fit your specific needs, things you have no interest in but can’t remove, elements and metadata you’d rather see, etc. This music player lets you fairly easily handcraft a music player that fits your precise needs in terms of features and aesthetics, and I have yet to feel any wonkiness or clunkiness despite all the customization options. This is an absolute gem of an app..Version: 8.3.2

Great Customer ServiceWell let’s just say I may have previously prematurely rated this app and gave it two stars. But after finding the “contact” button in app, I voice my concern and in five minutes that changed my entire user experience. Now, this is the only music app I will be using to discover and listen to music. Everything is customizable to what I want to see and how I want to see it. Well worth it. Can’t wait for future update (widget customization ).Version: 6.0.1

Love this app.I use this all the time on my iphone and love it, it just keeps getting better. Would be fantastic if this app ever made it to the mac..Version: 8.2

Best Apple Music and local music player!!This is the best app to play your local MP3’s for the iPhone if you are tired of the design of the Apple Music app! It’s extremely configurable as far as sorting of music and viewing it in different ways. For instance I have my main album screen sorted by artists. On the screen for a selected artist, the albums are sorted chronologically. If your picky about your music apps this will likely be the right app for you!.Version: 3.1.1

Fantastic appGot it to view playlists of albums but the UI as it stands is just fantastic..Version: 9.1

Great appWhat a great looking, feature rich, and easy to use app. Top notch..Version: 2.0

The New Reigning King Of Music Apps!Infinitely better than the stock app! So highly customizable in every part of the app. There are literally too many to list! I can’t say enough about Aditya, the developer! Always open to ideas and feature requests and will converse with you on how to best implement it (when possible). We’ve had many conversations bouncing ideas back and forth!.Version: 3.1.1

Amazing Apple Music IntegrationI’ve been using the stock Music app for the entire duration of my iTunes/Apple Music usage, but recently I wanted a little more leeway in terms of filtering my library to rediscover old music. I took a chance and forked over my five dollars only to discover a much more elegant and customizable Apple Music experience than what I thought I’d be buying. I absolutely love the ability to create new sections on the Home screen, to which you can apply rules, filters, and reorder every time of item in your library. The first thing I did was make a section for weekly releases but from years past. Even though I’ve never played around with other AM clients before, I was amazed. You can also customize the Home screen by lifting sections from AM’s For You and Discover tabs, which is amazing for putting everything you actually care about on one page. My current Home screen setup has sections for Recently Added, releases from previous years, Hot Tracks, New Releases, and Music By Mood. I don’t care much for a lot of the sections that the stock AM app has on each page, so being able to pick and choose is mind blowing. The only problems I’ve encountered so far with this app are that you have to open the regular AM app to delete songs from your library and that when you open the default AM app, closing it resets playback in Marvis. Aside from these issues, this app is PERFECT..Version: 5.1.2

AstonishingThis app is simply astonishing at what it does. It’s hard to describe the sheer customisation that is available to the user in setting up the app just the way you want it. If your prepared to spend a little time customising the app you are rewarded with an app that is beyond anything else available and works just for you. The developer continues to update, refine and add features every few weeks and frankly has developed an app that leaves every other music app pointless. Worth every penny and I hope we continue to see development and I would urge everyone looking for THE BEST music player app to support the developer and buy it!!.Version: 6.0.2

AmazingThis is honestly one of the best iOS apps out there. The functionality and polish is amazing and the updates are frequent. It’s easily replaced the Music app on my home screen. My only request would be for a more native iOS UI style, like Cardhop has achieved..Version: 3.1.1

Great app, lyrics broken. This app works really well and does what it’s meant to, it looks a lot nicer than the OG music app and serves as my main music player. I have installed and setup Musixmatch, but whenever I press the lyrics button, it first shows the share sheet, where I then have to manually select Musixmatch. Which is annoying, and I hope that there is something that the developers can do. So that the only option that shows up (Musixmatch), is automatically selected. So when I press the lyrics button it just opens the lyrics in the Marvis app. Rather than opening the share sheet, making me select Musixmatch, then showing me the lyrics in the Marvis app..Version: 4.0.1

Amazing. Worth every penny.I’ll admit I was hesitant to buy the app at first. But it was worth every penny. I like keeping my music offline, and Apple continues to limit the functionally of the default music app. This solves every single gripe I have! My only recommendation to the developer is to put together some documentation because there are so many features and some of them can be a little hard to discover..Version: 6.5

Amazing, Full featured music appFull featured music app. Can be configured so many different ways. Highly recommend. Works like the native iOS music app should. **** There was an issue with how the app worked on my phone, and the developer ran through some trouble shooting steps with me personally, and identified the issue was in my iTunes. They suggested a fix and it is working fine. *******.Version: 6.7.3

Great app, but somewhat brokenMarvis is by far the best music player I’ve used since 2009. Super fluid and customisable user experience, truly top notch. Unfortunately the native music app sometimes won’t play nice with Marvis and can cause some occasional issues, but overall the UX is far above and beyond Apple’s default music player, especially on iPad. One thing I would like to see in the future is better support for the slide over-size window on iPad. For some reason in that small window size, album art/artist pics etc are the same size as the full window, which can be cramped in that small space..Version: 5.2

ValueLevels of customisation that aren’t available elsewhere on iOS..Version: 6.5

Need option for list view of artistsI get that it looks nice to see either the artists or album artwork when looking through your library but if you have a large library this makes for very slow scrolling. I can see six artists per screen whereas in Apple Music I can see 12. I don’t need large images for scrolling through the Artists section. Either small images like AM has or no image would be fine and the latter would likely allow more to be visible..Version: 7.1

The bestGreat app and has great support. Support responds across all customer service channels. I really think Marvis is fantastic. I use more than Apple Music itself. /dgsoliv.Version: 5.0

WowAmazing app, so much better than apple music. Just wish there was an option to “discover” music a bit easier, like a browse function. Otherwise perfect!.Version: 5.0.5

A fantastic app to organize your musicIt took me a while to understand this app, but once I dive in I fell in love with it and my music collection again! It’s extremely customizable to the point of being a little overwhelming to setup, but thankfully there’s a decent community online helping others figure things out. Once I got my Home Screen setup the way I wanted, I found myself diving back into new and old music much more than I used to. Music became a part of my daily routine in a way it never had before. I took off one star simply because I wish it had shortcuts integration, but the widgets are close enough to what I’d want. I also think there should be an easier way to add specific playlists/albums/artists/etc. to a Home screen without having to add a filter for its specific name. Little things like that make it cumbersome sometimes, but otherwise it’s an extremely good music client!.Version: 8.3.2

Excellent! This is the best music player app period. So much customization and options. Spectacular interface and you can customize that as well. What a real music player is all about! Huge kudos to the developer. Well done!.Version: 7.1

Brilliantly designed appThe only issue is that you can not fully remove iOS music app due to iOS without deleting your music library or “offloading it”..Version: 9.3.4

My new favoriteI've been using another music app for years, and to be honest, it's been great, and I have been (and am) very happy with it, and with its developer. And yet, I have to be honest, Marvis has completely blown me away by being all that and more. It is very nearly everything I've ever wanted, or even imagined wanting. With apologies to my other music app, Marvis has stolen my heart away. Marvis's developer has been outstandingly responsive, working with me to help me understand all of its nuances and taking time to understand how I use it, and what I'm looking for in a music app. I didn't really "get" all that Marvis is capable of at first, and his attention to my concerns really made a world of difference in helping me get the most out of it and understand what it is capable of. I'm very grateful for that. The one thing that stopped me, especially at first, from making a wholesale switch to Marvis was the lack of support for iPad. In my view, that's really a must-have. There is a beta that does support iPad, and that's what I've been using. Once that's generally available, honestly, this will be the new standard-bearer, as far as I'm concerned..Version: 4.1.1

An oasis in a sea of crappy streaming appsI’d been reluctant to migrate to Apple Music from <insert any other streaming platform> because of how the library treats songs and albums, and how the native Music app doesn’t allow for advanced sorting. Marvis makes Apple Music usable. I get to build my own interface with as many custom queries as I want, the goal being to reduce taps. - Loved tracks, instead of having to rely on a smart playlist that updates whenever - Loved playlists, to keep my faves within reach - Albums, but only ones that have all tracks saved (as the gods intended 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹) - Apple Music algorithm suggestions, which I can bury at the bottom If you’ve been struggling with the stupid UX/UI decisions that other streaming services keep making, switch to Apple Music, get this, customize the heck out of it, and never look back..Version: 9.1.1

All-Time Favourite Music AppThank you for making older versions available for all of us “iPod Touch/pre-iOS 16” users! There was a brief window following a device reset on my end where an older version wasn’t available to reinstall; that time I spent using other apps really drove home how amazing all the Marvis features are in comparison. This is one of the best music apps for managing my music library: choosing my own artist & genre images, integrating with Last.fm in live time (also the killer plus features), accessing in depth details for all my tracks, albums, and artists, and generally being able to display the metadata that matters most to me in a way that’s aesthetically pleasing. For users who use Apple Music or have newer iOS devices with widget functions — Marvis is an extra level of seamless integration. It almost tempts me to get Apple Music, which is saying something. The only area in which it lacks somewhat is the ability to edit & remove playlists while in the app. That’s an issue stemming from the original Music app though..Version: 9.2.1

SO GOODOh my goodness this app is literally the best thing I’ve ever experienced.Version: 6.5

Problems now fixed.Initially I couldn’t add songs or albums to my library. However for some reason that changed today. Not sure what but it now works as advertised..Version: 6.0.2

Amazing music experienceOutperforms the stock Apple Music app in pretty much every way. The customization is seemingly unlimited and the possibilities are endless. The UI is great and the ability to customize a home page with elements and folders to your liking is an amazing feature. My favourite thing is changing metadata on the full player screen to show the most important information to me such as a release date, the genre, album, artist, device I’m playing the song through, etc. overall an amazing music experience..Version: 8.4.2

Worth the effort to customiseI agree with a previous reviewer; the app can seem a bit overwhelming when you first use it, and some of the out-of-the-box UI may not seem to match the way you use the music app, but when you find out what's available, and importantly how to hide the stuff you don't want and how to customise the stuff you want to see, it's amazingly powerful and beautiful as well. Brilliant customer service, too. You need to understand that the app works through the native Music app and has to adapt to the Apple APIs so there are sometimes limits to what it can do (and if it's open you can't close the native Music app without stopping Marvis from playing your music). All that said, f you want to navigate through your music easily, see your library exactly as you choose to see it and play music via the cloud as well as locally this is the music player to use without a doubt..Version: 9.3.5

Outstanding Best Ever Music AppThese guys have brought my offline music library alive in ways iTunes only wished they could. Customisable homepage layout, gorgeous cover art imagery, nice librarian controls. Would be good to see a favourite playlist function/feature and to see the 4-cover-thumbnails as iTunes do on their playlists (while they feature the wrong artwork on your playlists, the idea is good). Bravo guys, keep adding ideas. Well worth paying for.Version: 5.0.1

Stunning. Wanted Something Like This For So Long!Genuinely a brilliant app. I prefer Apple Music for a few different reasons but always hated the library management options. The biggest issue I had was separating my playlists from Apple playlists, and saved songs from full albums. With this app I’ve been able to do it in minutes. Filtering out albums into a grid which are full albums, sorting songs into a more logical order, displaying playlists that only I created all on one customisable home screen with the latest releases and hottest songs! Thank you so much for creating this app!.Version: 5.3

PerfectAn amazing replacement for apple music app. I got fed up of apple music trying to sale me apple music streaming service and having apple music streaming icons that can’t be removed on there app. Now that has been solved with this app as it is so Customisable. Just what I have been looking for!.Version: 5.3.1

MacOS app (or at least compatibility with iOS app), please!Just downloaded this to help me better tolerate Apple Music, but I was disappointed to see that the app won’t run on my M1 MacBook Air, which if I’m honest is where I have the most problems with Apple’s horrendously clunky and poorly designed Music app. If this could either be fixed or the iOS app ported to work on Mac, I’d be endlessly grateful!.Version: 6.5

The best money ever spentMarvis is simply worth the $35 or so i dropped on it to have last.fm integration and an overall better music player for apple music. it’s customisability to fit literally any aesthetic drives home just how versatile this app truly is. 12/10 would drop $100 to buy again.Version: 9.3.4

Number One Scrobbles for Apple Music! So much greatness about this App, I could spend a while talking about it. The simple fact for me and single best feature is the Last FM Scrobbles. The detailed information it shows on your music is unmatched. The immediate link to everything in the Apple Music App is excellent. Awesome App! I came back to add, I knew nothing, so many more features its phenomenal ! You really need to dig in, but that is what makes it so awesome, you'll soon realize as I have, that Marvis is hands down the single best App on iOS Im not kidding, I'd rather have Marvis than settings if I had to choose 😂.Version: 9.3.5

Absolutely fantastic!Skipped a latte last week and bought this instead, and I use it dozens of times a day. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and the gestures and animations inside the app are a joy to use. If you love music, then loving the app that controls your music only makes the experience better. Highly recommend this, works perfectly with my Apple Music subscription, and has found the holy grail of places on my phone - the dock. 😍.Version: 5.0.6

Much better once I set it upI was greeted by a fairly full screen and initially after adding too many options I didn’t quite like it. But after coming back, setting it up properly, and trying again I’ve fallen in love. It’s very easy to find the music I want to listen to. Everything is a swipe and tap away and great to use alongside Apple Music 👍.Version: 4.1.1

Much better than stock playerMuch better designed and with the ability to customise this is a must have. I only wish it had the symbol like Apple Music does to show which songs are most popular on an album..Version: 6.7.2

Best music app everApple should make this the stock app.Version: 6.5

Unlimited customization. Worth learning.Aditya Rajveer (the developer) of this application really did a great job creating Marvis. With so many features, personalising the app does takes a while to get a hang of, but if you're a music enthusiast like myself, it's completely worth going through the learning process. Additionally, Rajveer hand-types thorough solutions to any queries users may have ( app updates) on the r/MarvisApp subreddit, so I'd check that out if I were you. So happy that Marvis exists - makes me glad to have been a loyal apple music subscriber all this time. Looking forward to more updates :).Version: 9.3.4

Incredible music player!Highly recommend! Top 3 requests for developers: - Make option for song star rating to be visible along with song info at all times rather than toggle- there's plenty of room. - Have option to have a playing now screen with upcoming songs instead of album art - Give option to enable more fields (biterate, audio format, etc) or just a metadata viewer - bonus stretch: would be omg amazing to have a seekable waveform bar displayed, like soundcloud does or like music bee..Version: 3.0

Scrobbling inconsistencyWhy do I continuously have to "renew" my apple music token to get accurate scrobbles? Seems like my scrobbles aren't always active, but can be refreshed periodically from within the settings.Version: 6.5

No control over AirPlayI hate not being able to reorganize playlists, but I understand that MusicKit is fairly limiting with what you can do. However, whenever I AirPlay from the app, it plays through the Apple TV but I lose ALL control after that. Everything must be controlled from the TV or the stock Music app. EDIT: Switched to a 5 star for awesome developer response explaining why. :).Version: 5.1.2

Fantastic app but lack some feature i wantAlphabetical slider within the playlist, and option to make it always show..Version: 5.0.6

Best music player ever!I usually don’t write reviews but I had no idea there are music players for Apple Music until I randomly found out about this app. It beats Apple Music’s default player even after the iOS 13 update and I don’t think I can go back to the default one. Great job to the developers and big thanks! Music is a big part of my life and your player made it so much better! One thing I couldn’t figure out is how to manually reorder tracks on a playlist by dragging and dropping but I’ll play a little bit more with it and hopefully figure it out. Also, that extra step for the Musixmatch lyrics is a little annoying and I hope it can be removed in the future, but I’m sure it can’t be done at this point because of the way Apple has set up things. Once again, big thanks to the developers and sorry for the long rant but this app made me really excited!.Version: 4.1.1

Would 100% recommendThis app is such a massive improvement on the built-in music app that it’s allowed me to rediscover so many great songs and albums that I have in my collection. Worth the £$ investment.Version: 5.1.2

WowRight off the bat, I'm incredibly impressed. So much detailed precise control is offered in such a clean and polished interface. That's not easy to do. And this app does exactly what I have long wanted: the ability to categorize my /albums/. Not just make playlists of songs. To anyone who is particular about their music and has a lot of it, get this app. You won't regret it..Version: 8.3.1

Absolutely amazing, must have music appHands down the absolute best app to play and discover music on iPhone for Apple Music users. The Home Screen offers an unbelievable amount of integration with Apple Music and is totally customizable. I’ve been using this app for the last 4 years and have rarely opened the native music app since. The developer is dedicated to continuously improving the app and user experience and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the number of updates provided. My only suggestion is possibly adding an option to have the search bar on the Home Screen? Not sure if that options exists and I just can’t find it, but it’s really the only improvement I can think of. Absolutely no lag, songs and playlists that are downloaded via Apple Music appear instantly. Using on iPhone 13 Pro Max Absolutely flawless execution all around- Apple needs to seriously replace the music app with this!! Bravo!.Version: 8.1

Unfortunately unresponsiveEdit: Thank you to the developer for a quick and really helpful response to my initial review. As you mentioned, after going back into the proper music app first and then into Marvis afterwards, it seems to be working fine. I didn’t know that it was dependant on the music app running in the background. It’s a shame this is the case but, now I know what’s up, it’s not the worst workaround and the app is lovely to use. I never completely quit apps unless they’re misbehaving but I’ll definitely bear this in mind for the future and open the music app from time to time. The customisation is really great in this app and helps bring forward a lot of varied music to listen to, be it things in my library or new music I haven’t heard before. Thanks again for the heads up. ____________ Original: I’ve had the app a while now after being convinced by the positive reviews but all I’ve had are problems. Primarily the app doesn’t respond. It takes ages to open and then it’s completely unresponsive. I try quitting the app completely and reopening it but nothing changes. I revert back to the in-house music app more often than not. I’m sorry to have spent my money on this one now. Hopefully it behaves a little better in the future after some updates..Version: 6.4.3

SuperbAn outstanding achievement in design and functionality. This app satisfies the most demanding music fan with seemingly limitless customisations. I’ve been looking for something like this for years. Looks great on the iPad Pro screen. This app makes my library fun to use again. Congratulations..Version: 5.0.1

Literally the best music player on iOS.It may seem a little expensive since your music player comes free with your phone, but the customizable UI has made me never want to touch the default music app again, since this one is so much easier to navigate..Version: 9.4

This app is amazingYou can customize literally everything and make it your own. I love adding my own photos to the sidebar and the whole app itself.Version: 9.1.1

FreshNice customisable Apple Music client that’s bound to be Sherlocked sometime in the future ..Version: 3.0

The best music app I have ever used.Title says enough. It’s the best. This app gives you absolutely everything and every customization you could ever dream of. All in an elegant and beautiful package..Version: 6.7.1

Best music appExcellent.Version: 8.3.2

Considerably better than using Apple Music on its own, but…(EDITED) I really admire the drag-and-drop functionality when adding songs to a queue and the sheer customisability… But why can I no longer drag & drop playlist folders? Really admired the ability to do this for listening to particular eras..Version: 5.2
