Life changing program! Dishonest appI loved Ex90, the movement and my fraternity made a huge difference in my life. I subscribed to the app and bought the book. I do believe in charity, however the app itself is not incredibly clear on payment, before Jan 1st at the start, or at the end. I continued to pay a 10/mo membership without realizing it all the way into may. Which is my mistake of course- and I’m not upset about it on my end for my own sake! But I do hope that the developers try to make a more clear option for the app to continue, or end membership at the end of 90 days. The fact is, Promoting a 90 day fellowship program, that you sign up with a continuous auto-debited payment doesn’t look good. It looks like a worldly money grab. I’m not saying it is, but that as a representative of the faith it’s important to take every step possible to be forthright as possible, and I think a feature like that prompting or reminding the user would look a lot better. Will definitely be doing this again!.Version: 1.0.3

Not for every Christian manI wanted to like this, I really did, but I can see that not all Christian men will in good conscience be able to use the materials as provided. Now maybe to a Roman Catholic praying to Michael the archangel is actually a spiritual necessity (is it?), but for a Christian anchored in the protestant tradition, praying to anyone but God is morally wrong and dangerous. I’ve no problem accommodating a number of practices and traditions that are more or less unique to Roman Catholics, and I acknowledge them as my brothers in Christ, so it’s not out of prejudice or intolerance that I take my position. I was more looking for the fraternity aspect of this program, as I’ve already integrated cold showers, fasting and other ascetic disciplines on my own..Version: 3.0.1

It’s a great program but needs to be on paperThe spiritual value of the program and the depth of the content is undeniable. The life of prayer, fraternity and asceticism it promotes has brought great changes in my life and I continue to use it with my fraternity. The app has also been improving over the years. The only problem I have is that one of my main obstacles to vanquish is reducing my screen time. The first round of E90 has a book in print for that. But none of the program is available in print after that. As a result I spend screen time when I’m praying which is distracting to me or others when I’m at church, or even worse, shines screen light on my eyes at home at times when I’m trying to wind down. Sometimes the screen time spent reading the app at bedtime is enough for keeping me awake all night. And here I am, being asked to write a review for the App Store when I’m supposed to be praying. I’ve contacted the E90 team suggesting this program needs to be on paper, but to no avail. Still, I admire and thank them and pray for them for their amazing and transforming work..Version: 3.0.1

A little questionable.I must say when I heard of Exodus 90, I decided to do it because it was and is a good challenge. The premise is good. The discipline is good. The word of the lord in Exodus throughout 90 days is great. But the commentary on the Exodus readings feels too common sense and shallow, if you don’t rate the app then it’s shoved in your face every time you open the app whether you say later, or just flat out no. On top of that, to pay $10 a month just for a semi helpful field guide, unmemorable commentary, and a checklist feels more like a cash grab than a worthy expense. Don’t get me wrong, I have and will continue to challenge other men to follow all of the Exodus 90’s disciplines, but to have to pay $30 just for a minute of daily commentary, and have it shoved in your face constantly that the app is oh so important ruins all of what this app can offer that 5 minutes, a piece of paper, and a pen can’t. So to make a long story short, you should follow the discipline, I wish there was a better way to get commentary and a reading plan, but the app is less than worth it..Version: 3.0.1

Content is great, but it’s buggy and flawedI’ve been surprisingly impressed with the content and the program so far. I’m 22 days in. The design/fonts/layout is very well done. But sometimes the app just won’t open, which can be frustrating when you’re on a tight schedule for your holy hour. (I’m a lawyer with five kids.) I’ll text my group, and they will experience the same problem of the app just not opening. Another criticism: the disciplines work like streaks that you check off upon completion, which is great. But the streaks get reset back to zero, not if you forget to do one, but if you forget to check it off that day. If your trying to stay off your phone, it’s frustrating to have remember to pick it up and check off your disciplines at the end of the day. So that part of the app became useless the first week because I couldn’t check off disciplines for the previous day. It would be more motivating to look at your contiguous days of disciplines, but you’ll need a paper habit tracker for that. For $10 a month, you expect more. If I did it again, I’d by the book. I’ll definitely cancel after completing 90 days. Nevertheless, I do recommend the program, but not the app..Version: 3.4.0

Good but subscription model is not suitableExodus is a good and helpful tool for spiritual growth and I’d recommend it. However, the app forces you to enter a monthly ongoing subscription even though most customers are just interested in 90 days only. There obviously needs to be an way to sign up for 90 days for a fixed and reasonable fee..Version: 3.0.1

SpamImpossible to find how to cancel your membership or delete your account. Plus they send your emails without possibility tu unsubscribe which is CLEARLY a violation to Canada’s federal regulations to which they are supposed to comply as I am located in Canada. Finally, they ask you to pay $90 for 0 added value. Save your money, stay away..Version: 3.0.1

App has improvedFrom when I first started it’s improved but messaging needs a lot more improvement.Version: 3.4.0

Skip it, it’s a cash grab, get the book instead. This app really let me down. They advertised free download, but after a couple weeks charge $10 per month. That’s $30 for the program. On top of that it does not include all the info you need from the book, $45 if I remember correctly. This really felt counter to the spirit of the lessons and aesthetic nature of the program. Most of my group bought in, but all agreed we felt like we were being taken advantage of, or it felt underhanded. To each their own. This would make more sense if all the info was included, and you had the ability to go back and forth and access the info as desired. I’d say but the book, and text or WhatsApp with your fraternity, it’s cheaper if you share, easier, and gets you full access to all the info, and probably features a better messenger. The app is a tad wonky and counterintuitive to navigate. Fine if it was free, awful at the subscription rate of $10 per month. Besides, it further tethers one to his cellular device, which is probably a problem for most men in the program. In summary, Exodus 90 is incredible, all men should uplift themselves and take it on... the app feels like a sad cash grab, pass it up and go for the book..Version: 1.0.2

Needs updating/ fixingThe app doesn’t seem to be as responsive on the touch as normal apps do, it may need some updating or bug fixing as it is a $10 app..Version: 1.0.3

Cannot Sign Up!!!Constantly cannot get SMS verification sent to my phone number. Have emailed to get assistance to no avail. Please this app looks amazing! Help me.Version: 3.0.1

The program is great! The app could do with improvement.I love the pillars of the Spiritual Exercises! It has been formed with the Wisdom of the Ages that the Church treasures and seeks to share with the world in every age... desperately needed in ours and so easily drowned out by other noise. The app could do with some tweaks. 1. In app magnification would be great. 2. It seems to be pretty hungry for battery power and data use..Version: 1.0.3

App needs work and too expensiveI’ve done exodus 90 before and it was great!!! I have nothing wrong with the program. However I can’t believe the app has five stars, people must be lying because the app never loads and is so hard to use/ navigate. And the thing as a whole is sooooo expensive. I recommend all catholic men do exodus 90, just don’t download and pay for the app (get the book, you’ll pay for it once and get to use it forever).Version: 3.9.1

Verification issuesNot able to join community due to being unable to phone number verification issues (from Australia).Version: 3.9.1

Good but used to be betterAs a long time user of the app I see progress in some areas and problems in others. I am always frustrated with developers that take away capabilities within an app. It’s okay to add new features but why remove existing capabilities? I used to be able to manage my fraternity easily, now I cannot remove people that are no longer in and have moved away! Seems like “the thing” to do is constantly change for the sake of change, instead of keeping things simple and practical. Sort of defeats the purpose as I have to completely relearn how to use the app every year! On the good side they now offer new reflections that are different from the original ones and that has been a pleasant experience..Version: 3.0.1

Money making rather than faith focusedThe CEO of Exodus had paid himself $190,000 last year, $150,000 the year before and $100,000 the year before that. This is a lot of money and huge pay rises for non profit. The Exodus 90 concept is great. But the app and website are hugely commercialised and they smell of sales and marketing instead of evangelisation and encouraging men in their faith. They could easily make the app free and donation based. The app cost excludes men who want to grow in their faith. The way they are doing this feels wrong - selling Catholicism. You really don’t need an app or website to do Exodus 90. And they should be asking you for money to do it..Version: 3.9.4
