PlantSnap - identify plants for Positive User Reviews

Punches above its weightThis app makes it real easy to be in the field an remain informed on what plant, what problems and how to care for plants. Somewhat limited on Australian natives but otherwise pretty accurate..Version: 5.00.07

I love ❤️ plantsI love the way you can identify plants in just seconds 👍✌️❤️🌲🌱🍀🍃🌵🌳🌿🎍🌴☘️🎋.Version: 3.00.18

Great learning toolHelps educate you on your garden..Version: 4.00.11

Awesome app, using it for our garden plantsI left a review recently saying that I couldn’t get in in the app without paying, my bad, that review was meant for the plantyx app and I got the reviews mixed up! I have found this app does an excellent job at identifying plants, I’m using it to detect plants in my mums garden. 5/5..Version: 4.00.4

Pretty goodI’ve used this app for a while and while it’s not 100% accurate, It’s very useful. You really need to focus on a single flower without the leaves and make sure there’s a lot of light. Highly recommend!.Version: 4.00.14

Seems easy to useI was looking for an app to identify plants tried a few seemed ok to start then packed up since down loading this app it is fine.Version: 3.00.23

Hit and MissSometimes it’s great, particularly good with flowers. Other times it gives absurd responses. I’ve tested it out on plants I know and it will give REALLY incorrect answers, no matter how perfect the photograph. Don’t expect it to be able to recognise leaves! Don’t take the results for absolute truth, always do further research. I do really like how it tells you straight away if a plant is toxic to people or animals. This has helped with moving into a new house a lot..Version: 2.02.06

PlantsmapI started using this App this Spring and am totally amazed at how often It has answered questions for me! I am very happy with this App!.Version: 6.2.0

Easy and accurateJust how amazing is this? Just point and click and the answer is there. How often have I seen a flower in the woods and wondered what it is, - and decided to look it up when I get home? - and never got round to it. Well, no more!!.Version: 3.00.23

A good app but doesn’t always give you the right answerI like using this app and it is very good the only thing is I took a picture of a plant from all angles and it didn’t recognise it but accept from that it is a great app😀.Version: 4.00.16

Not impressedI don't know if this app is specific to the USA but it can't recognise many UK plants. Some of the 'suggested' IDs are frankly ludicrous - I took photos of one plant 15 times and each time I got a different answer. The plant in question was a dandelion! I took an incredibly easily identified plant in order to check the accuracy of the app - you failed dismally..Version: 3.00.27

Awesome!New favourite app. Thank you!.Version: 2.01.15

Great AppNot sure why so many have given poor reviews as U have been using the free version for a year or 2 now and it’s great for identifying wild flowers, garden plants as well as common weeds. It even identified a rare Birds Nest orchid of the beaten track in the Peak District! Impressed. I can save my identified photos to my collection. For occasional use when out and about it’s perfect.Version: 6.2.4

BestestI started using this app about 6 months ago and it did ok with identifying my plants. I recently started using it again because I found it was more accurately identifying plants (tested at nurseries and such). The love the app design putting the camera ID button in an easy to find place so I can quickly ID those useless "hi, I'm a plant" labels in the big box stores. I love the photo and note journaling capabilities so I can chronicalize my plants journey through life. The water and fertilizing tracking and notifications are great since you have the option to either use their seasonal calculations based on the plant species, or set it up manually. I've used some of the genus-specific soil recipes that it offers and they have worked well for my plants..Version: 6.2.7

Invaluable; just one niggleI’ve just moved to southwest France and am finding the App invaluable. My only criticism is that I wish I could store snaps of plants I discover when out and about where WiFi access is poor to look up when I get home..Version: 2.02.04

Such a useful app!Really enjoy this app and the quick access to information about the plants I find around me. I have been able to identify wildflowers, trees and supposed weeds!.Version: 4.00.16

Wrong Plant name.We have often found that we are given the wrong name of the correct plant we have taken photo of! Why is this so??We pay for the subscription we would expect simple name as well as the genius the family and of course the botanical name please help us?.Version: 5.01.17

Almost 5 stars!I thought the app was really good except I couldn’t tell if people were posting on the app to identify their plants like I was or if they were just posting their beautiful plants/flowers. Which is fine to post and all because they are wonderful to look at I was just a little confused about that part. The other part is when I snapped the plant I wanted to identify I only got 2 selections, neither of which were mine. At least I don’t believe so. So maybe it was my plant or maybe people need more of a selection to choose from. Other than that, loved it. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Also if it was in my budget I’d get a subscription..Version: 6.2.5

Fantastic AppHow often are you out and about and you see a tree or a plant even a flower and you would like to know what it is, well with this app all you need to do is take a picture and you have the answer. I have found it irreplaceable..Version: 4.00.1

Australian nativesAppears that the app has trouble recognising Australian natives - at least in my Melbourne garden..Version: 2.01.20

Plant SnapLove it. Excellent and accurate plant id’s..Version: 6.2.4

Not bad for what it isI liked that you can see everyone’s post. More so than that you can like, dislike, send commentary on the pictures, report them, etc if need be to admin. The app is very through in that respect. The app wasn’t able to identify my plants specifically but in general it did identify them. It does a better job with flowers than with plants. I didn’t do the free trial because I’m rarely around too many plants but it’s a nice resource to have if you are a lover of plants and flower..Version: 6.2.5

Bought one thing and got something better! This app fails on promised plant care and feeding but the associated online community shows promise as my best app in years and leadsuntold new friends who are happe to help..Version: 6.2.7

PlantSnapVery good app and easy to use. I recommend it to my friends and family. Cheers..Version: 4.00.11

Karic151I’ve had limited experience with the app so far, but it has correctly identified two very unusual flowers for me. I’ve previously used two other apps with totally mistaken results, so I’m thrilled to have discovered this one. This was recommended by a friend who has also been highly satisfied, particularly with the results regarding Australian natives..Version: 2.01.25

Clunky interface but high accuracyAt least from my small comparison example it seemed more accurate than PlantNet.Version: 3.00.20

Great App for all who like plants....but not there names.Brilliant app, works most times and the where to buy suggestions that come up too are great, l love the app my wife adores the app.....we now look like a small tropical forest....only if the app could water and feed the plants it would be perfect..Version: 4.00.14

Great appThe results are so quick and accurate. No more wondering what my flowers in the bee mix are..Version: 3.00.24

Very cool.I love the whole layout and how you can request it to be identified by a real person. However I think the home screen is a bit full, the advertisement banner takes up 1/5 of my entire screen, and then another fifth is taken up by the camera options. But apart from that keep it up :) I love it..Version: 2.02.00

Had for years & now they want me to “start free trial”.*Update ~ PlantSnap contacted me and I figured out how to get to my old “snaps” without the free trial. Turns out, there is a VERY faint “cancel” in the the upper right hand corner of the “free trial” screen. Thank you for getting back to me PlantSnap, I will continue using and enjoying this app. Note ~ I tried another app and didn’t like it at all. I’ve enjoyed this app for at LEAST five years. Evidently it’s been revamped and now I can’t even access my old “snaps.” It’s always been nice to go back to remind me what a certain plant was called. It has needed room for improvement, but I just don’t want to pay for something that was working just fine for me already. So frustrated! I guess I’ll be looking for a different app now..Version: 6.0.5

PlantsnapI think I like Plantsnap, but each time I take a photo,it comes up with a different result!.Version: 3.00.03

Extremely accurate and helpfulI‘ve had a garden that I started recently with a packet of wildflowers. When the flowers finally sprouted, I had no idea what it was. The back of the packet had a list of what it might be, but none of the pictures online matched; I was worried I’d been growing a weed of sorts this whole time. When I got this app, it gave me an accurate identification on the first try. I’ve never been more satisfied with an app’s work. It’s nice to know how to properly care for my new Zinnias ❤️.Version: 2.02.03

NiceThis app is not something I use everyday but as someone who really loves plants, it’s great to be able to whip it out every once a while and find the name and type of something I see and love. The app will give you a range of options to choose from based on your photo and when you select them they will tell you the basic facts about them. I find this is good if you want to see whether you should grow it or not. If I do think it would be good with my garden and weather, then I can search the name up on the internet. I would recommend it as a nice app to have for those occasions when you want to be a bit more mindful or your surroundings..Version: 5.01.08

PlantSnap identification tool- It allows users to snap a photo of any plant, flower, or tree and receive instant information about it. Users can explore a vast database of plants, learn about their characteristics, habitats, and growing conditions. - PlantSnap boasts an impressive accuracy rate in identifying plants, thanks to its advanced image recognition technology and constantly updated database. - PlantSnap is typically free to download and use, but it may offer in-app purchases or a premium subscription for access to additional features or an ad-free experience - Overall, PlantSnap is a valuable tool for plant enthusiasts, gardeners, hikers, and anyone curious about the flora around them. With its easy-to-use interface, accurate identification capabilities, and educational resources, it's a handy companion for exploring the botanical world. However, users should keep in mind that while PlantSnap is highly accurate, it's not flawless, and occasional errors may occur..Version: 6.2.7

PlantSnapJust downloaded this app and thought I’d try it out, took a snap of the honeysuckle in my garden and I was told it was a ‘banana tree’.I took another of my dwarf irises and was told they were ‘crocuses’ this app is rubbish, I would expect it at least be able to do the easy ones. Now, where’s the ‘delete’ button?.Version: 2.01.14

Fantastic app but sadly now to expensiveI have used this for the last four or five years and it is amazing. It is not very intuitive and it took me a while to work out how to see the alternative possibilities. Sadly, it is no longer free and as an old man on pension watching every cent, I cannot afford it, especially as I only used it a couple of times a year so it is goodbye, but I was really impressed by the depth of the database as it correctly identified a plant only growing in a very limited area of Australia.Version: 5.1.23

Usually never write reviews but this app is worth one.I had the same idea for this app to snap and I’d flora &fauna back with iPhone 3 and so glad that others had it too to make it possible. Been using this app for a few days and it’s great, some times some IDs get mess up even if you follow the instructions but it’s definitely not broken like some people have been committing and like any computers recognition software there’s never always 100% but if you take another pic of a different sister flower or leaf you’ll get it at least 9/10 times what your looking for. An ideas to make it more interactive is to have & earn badges that you can collect when you find and snap different species and maybe even colors. kind of like a Pokédex style..Version: 2.02.04

QuestionHi, I’m using this app to teach my child plant types, the only thing is,, she can’t read yet. Is there anyway that the app actually speaks to us when it has identified a plant species?.Version: 2.02.04

Simple and Easy to UseThis is a cute little app for anyone who is obsessed with plants and always wants to share it with friends but hey if your friends don’t want to hear about it, here’s your app. You can add people and check out their plants and go wild. UI is simple and the green shades are a nice color scheme. It can identify plants though that may need some tweaking, but if the AI can’t immediately get it then you always have the community to ask. Settings were also simple to find - sometimes it’s hard to find and change your email and password in a lot of apps but this one is simple..Version: 6.2.5

BrilliantThis is so good!!! It identifies my plants so aurally and fast!!! Definitely recommend it!!!.Version: 5.00.12

Excellent App for learning about plants and flowersWow! I was really surprised. This app is great and very easy to use. I have learned so much about my Australian native garden. Highly Recommended!.Version: 3.00.05

Great appLike a Pokédex but for blooms, plants etc... it’s great. Not 100% all the time but it’s very close! I’m studying to become a florist so this app is a great tool to help me identify and learn on the go. It is limited asking you to sign up for certain features but I find you can get by easily with a normal account..Version: 2.01.21

It’ll get you close!I docked a star for rarely getting the plant correct as the first option but usually having it on the list of other options somewhere down the line. More on that and the reason for the second star I docked. One identification told me my plant (my fault for not knowing my own plants 😅) was a zamioculcas zamiifolia. But then I found in a google search my specific ZZ is a zenzi. So I searched zenzi in the app and found that it’s not anywhere in the app. So while this is an excellent start and well worth the $1 a month (first 3 months) some more info needs to be entered from the farmer’s almanac. 😁 Actually I’m gonna add another star because it is super helpful. Eh. To hell with it! 5 stars! Hahaha I’m a push over! This app is amazing actually. I wouldn’t know what I had in front of me without it. Fair’s fair. Thanks so much!.Version: 3.00.18

I don’t think I can live without PlantSnapI downloaded PS a while back and used it here and there. Then I purchased with the annual fee. I use it when I forget what I planted. I use it in my walks to identify interesting plants I see then to decide whether I want to purchase them for my garden. I’m a photographer and one of my post-processing steps is to identify flowers I’ve photographed so that I can label them. It’s one of the best apps I use. It just keeps getting better and better..Version: 6.1.9

InformativeI’ve really enjoy using this app. I’m beginning to recognize plants by their foliage/greenery leaves and actually getting them correct! Also, I have a plant (tree palm) that was just dumped on me and the only information I was given was that it was 24 yrs old. & it was huge palm in need of attention… but I knew nothing more about it. This app has helped me care for so many of my plants. I bought 2 plants to lighten up my house after my abusive ex left and now I can’t get enough of them but I’ve also learned valuable information by this app about outdoor weeds/greenery and etc. Such as poison ivy and some of the other toxic plants that should be avoided. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS APP!.Version: 5.01.06

Amazing app! However one question! 😊I think this app is brilliant! Weather your young or old. I only have one question that I wanted to ask: if I take a snapshot of a picture and then share it, if I delete that picture I’ve taken and then shared from my photos, will my post be deleted to? Thank you 😊.Version: 3.00.23

Good appI’d like to thank everyone involved in creating this great app, it may need a little fine tuning, but it's a great app..Version: 3.00.13

Fantastic app! This is a fantastic app, and for those with a little patience, an incredible resource. Because of the diversity in nature, it is naive to expect any app to look at a picture and identify a plant species with 100% accuracy; however, I have had incredible success by changing the angles of my pictures and taking a little extra time to scroll through the result options. I loved the temporary campaign that ran during Mother’s Day that identified the endangered plant species and would be thrilled if that became a permanent feature..Version: 2.01.30

GreatImpressive and quick.Version: 2.02.04

Really impressed!I’ve had this app for a few months now and I’m really impressed! I got it as I’m fairly new to gardening and wanted to check if a few things were weeds before I pulled them out. It is very simple and easy and I’ve been able to save the few unusual flowers etc to my page so that I can refer back to them too. Great app!.Version: 3.00.23

Does not workI’m a photographer so I know how to take a decently framed and properly lit photograph. I have built ground truth databases for face recognition and other biometrics. The same principles are applicable to plant identification. Good ground truth and eliminate the false positives. I have made many attempts to ID plants and it has failed miserably. And now I see that they are pushing a social networking experience for their app. I think they should spend their money developing the capture side of the app and get that right. I love the concept and was excited to use it but it’s not ready for prime time. Sorry..Version: 3.00.01

So helpfulThis app has been brilliant! Moved to a new place with a large garden. No idea what most the plants were until I started using this app. So so helpful!!!.Version: 2.01.25

I’ve been looking for this app all my life!As a certified plant freak, I love to spend my time wandering the lands observing different buds, blooms and leaves. The problem was I didn’t know what most of them were and found it hard to keep a clean record of all the ones I loved and would like to plant or research one day. Now I have found my ultimate tool!!! I am so excited about this app. I purchased the premium service so I could look at the snaps taken around the world and I can’t stop looking and learning! So worth it. Thank you for creating this wonderful database for all us plant freaks out there. This will continue to be an invaluable tool for me as a sustainable design and landscape architecture grad student..Version: 2.02.03

Wil from Wallington AustraliaLove the app.. helpful for me being a landscaper... cheers....Version: 3.00.24

Great findLove this app. Take a photo and look up what it is whilst out walking. No more trying to remember and look in a book when you get home..Version: 3.00.28

AmazingHonestly one of the best apps I have.Version: 2.01.17

Not FreeI’ve seen some of the comments on here about not free! nothing in life is free anymore if you want good advice to save a fortune on dying plants then use this app. You will save the £19 or so on plants. If not jog on!!.Version: 6.2.4

Really helpfulFor someone like me with little plant knowledge this is a great app. So far every plant I snapped the app has identified and it gives you a selection if it’s not sure from the photo..Version: 2.02.00

ReviewThe constant interference with subscription ads and profiles is irritating -could be less obvious-Get more bees with honey so to speak.Version: 3.00.26

Good appI took a picture of a banksia that I knew, and it got the species correct first try..Version: 5.00.08

Hold on to this app!I’ve had pictures it couldn’t identify, but I’ve had plenty it has identified. I believe the only reason it may not pull up what you are looking for is the image of the plant isn’t being identified correctly on our part while taking the picture. Was very amazed after searching on google for a tree near my home, couldn’t find it, and pulled this app out and gave it another chance, it identified it immediately! Not a very common tree, and it had an amazing image and a ton of background info on it..Version: 5.01.06
