✓ Do not updateI updated to the latest firmware version and now I lost all of my saved snapshots, the button for the EQ doesn’t work so it’s stuck in ‘speech mode’ which sounds terrible, the buttons don’t work for the reverb so you can’t choose between small/med/large reverb and the EQ button can’t be toggled for channel 3. DON’T UPDATE TO V.5.1. Also, software aside - the hardware is cheap and the power button has been broken and fixed twice now. This is cheap equipment. Purchase with caution..Version: 1.0.4

✓ Not workingI have the same exact problem as the other two gentlemen or ladies. I just bought a pair of these speakers right out of the box i was able to connect them to the app and now nothing. the app only opens and it does nothing. i noticed something not mentioned though, the front LED on the bottom of the speaker is now off when powered on, it comes on as soon as turn the speaker on and then is goes off after a few seconds and yesterday when one speaker stoped working with the app the one that was still able to be visible in the app had the LED on..Version: 1.0.2
✓ App is unusableReceived a pair of Eon Compacts yesterday. App worked for several seconds (Bluetooth mixer) and no longer loads on either my iPhone or iPad Pro. The option to locate and connect to speakers is no longer visible, although both speakers are on and ready. Bluetooth music streaming to one speaker seems to work although it is of poor quality audio with many audio dropouts from both my iPhone and iPad several feet away. Several hours of troubleshooting and research have yielded no results. Fix this app ASAP, as this battery powered speaker does have potential in remote pro audio applications in groups of two or four, but the app is trash..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Virtually useless junkHow does a company like JBL allow janky garbage software like this stand by their name. ✓ Great speakers for wired use terrible appThe app rarely works, often crashes, sometimes needs to be completely removed and reinstalled to even see the speakers and the Bluetooth is sketchy at best. BT on the party box is rock solid but lots of skips and dropouts and the broadcast feature rarely works right. That being said the speakers are awesome but JBL really needs to hire some app devs.Version: 1.0.4

✓ App doesn’t work!!!Cannot get the app to work on my iPhone. The Bluetooth does connect and works. App does not work on my iPad either!! In fact the speaker will not even connect to my iPad via Bluetooth. Useless without the app imo! The speaker itself is awesome but the app not working is a dealbreaker for me!! ✓ Won’t pairThe speaker pairs with my phone (visible from the Bluetooth menu), enabling me to play iTunes or YouTube or whatever. That’s not why I dropped HUNDREDS of dollars on this speaker. That is also where compatibility with my phone ends. After a couple of successful gigs using the app and the speaker and feeling very excited about it, the app ceased to recognize the speaker, even when it’s paired with my phone. I’ve tried everything. Forgetting the device, reinstalling the app, restarting the phone and the speaker. Trying to pair only through the app rather than the settings menu on my phone, etc. I’ve done all these things in every permutation possible, several times. Got it to work one other time for a few minutes, and that’s it. The end. Get your act together, JBL!.Version: 1.0.4
✓ Junk appI have the same problem as everyone on here. Got today will ship back this week get money back if I don’t get any support. I’ll spend the extra on the BOSE S1, better sound, quality and most of all customer support. Such great potential in these speakers, such a shame..Version: 1.0.3
✓ App unreliable as not app I used beforeIm so mad I did not read all this before getting a pair of EON’s. The idea was to manipulate the sound while DJing etc but reliability its BAD. App not able to locate speakers at all sometimes locate one but never both. Changed the names add numbers to the name. NADA. Why this is happening in almost year 2023. Does JBL care about customers. ✓ Bluetooth Fail!I have spent 3 hours fighting to get the pair of these connect. When they do connect, they go in and out and skip all over the place. Tried my iPhone and iPad and both fail. Have done 2 firmware updates hoping that would help, but no. Frustrating for the ease of how it was presented in the YouTube video. ✓ Baffled—-update!!! Found the magic bullet. Hard reset on the device...while on with all channels selected, press Phantom and Ducking simultaneously until it starts blinking. Then link, mixer, firmware and get update. I never got this far before but I’m dl’ing the update. It’s slow. Good luck to all - this is a great piece of gear potentially. ———-/// After listening to all the raves about this particular feature, it’s maddening experience its failure! As with others, it kinda sorta worked exactly once. After that, I’ve not seen several of those screens and pop ups ever again. ✓ Needs improvementThese speakers are awesome but the app to control them is clunky... obviously NOT developed by a professional sound person (or at least OPERATED by a professional sound person or they would have fixed this basic problem before release!) There are plenty of features but the resolution of the volume sliders is horrible so if you are trying to adjust the volume just a slight touch will move them up or down by several db... quite awkward when trying to control a live performance. I even tried loading the app on my iPad thinking I would have more range of movement on the sliders but no luck... if they could improve the resolution of the volume controls this app would rock. This isn’t a Behringer 32 mixer but there’s no reason the app can’t work like their app does! Yes I agree switching between multiple speakers is a bit clunky but once you get the hang of it it’s workable... and there are nice eq features and FX features... just fix the sliders!!!.Version: 1.0.4
✓ Reset Option Needed!Older version was buggy and eventually stopped communicating with the unit, worked on my iph7; ipad mini & ipad air. Now all 3 won’t work with the app including latest update. ✓ Please fix this appI have been trying for weeks to get this to work. I want to play video and audio media with VLC and have this app broadcast in stereo. I have tried using a Galaxy Note 8, a Tab 6, a Galaxy Tab S6, an IPad Air (3rd gen) and now an iPad Pro 11”. I pair 1 speaker with the device and start the app. I link speakers “A” and “B” in the app and setup BT broadcast for a host (left) and remote (right). Playback is full of glitches, dropouts, speeds up and slows down. If this software actually works I wish JBL would provide some information. Otherwise it is useless for performance. Would be fantastic if it worked. Not what I expect from JBL Professional speakers..Version: 1.0.3

When both were loaded, only able to stream to one OR the other, not both, at least one at normal volume and the other very faintly. ✓ So very disappointedSpent over a thousand dollars on a professional pair of JBL speakers to use for wedding ceremony music and cocktail hours. I was excited to hear these speakers in action. I am using them for “professional” entertainment and have been in the biz 39 years. I can’t afford mis-fires. This app is really non-functional. Just like so many other reviews…the app stopped working after a few minutes!! What do I do JBL/HK? Seriously…what is my next move?…I have a gig this weekend and it’s Tuesday! Obviously, I will experiment with running a cable, but one of the selling points was being able to stream to the speakers. ✓ Speakers are uselessThe only thing this app does is confirm that there’s a firmware update. Of course, it hangs trying to install the update. I have tried deleting, re-downloading app, removing and adding Bluetooth, force quitting, opening in different orders and have run out of ideas. ✓ Clunky interface.I bought the JBL rather than the similar Bose because it goes a bit louder and has a couple more features, but the user interfaces, both on the speaker and via the app, are very poorly designed. Like, knobs on the speaker that don’t let you see clearly where they are set; a ‘CH SELECT’ button labeled in small font that makes the controls unusable for inexperienced user (ie. most of the people in my workplace who try to use it). It took me ages to find how to get out of Demo mode on the app, which doesn’t seem robust enough for me to trust it at a gig. JBL make good hardware but they need to take some lessons on user interface..Version: 1.0.4

I have 2 EON ONE COMPACTS and only one of them connects to the App. Not sure how to get the other one to connect but man it needs some work. Also, the one thing about these speaker is the Bluetooth loses connection or speeds up the music when connected. Straight after unboxing I updated firmware via JBL Compact Connect app. Then the app didn’t recognise my phone even though bluetooth was connected. I took back to the store and we tried on 2 different phones, but it still didn’t work. Please update firmware to avoid this problem for other users..Version: 1.0.3
