✓ ConfusionI am new to the smart home adventure, so my only goal was to get my smart appliances working together. I took the plunge and brought a T-P link plug, this came with the Kasa app. In my hast to get another device, because the first one was so simple. I did not realise that Tapo, was a separate app and system from T-P link. This is my only gripe. I can log in with my Kasa app but I need a separate app to control the bulb. Not cool. I have begun to notice this and this appeared to cause people confusion. Please, if the Tapo app is a better app then delete the Kasa and port everyone over..Version: 2.2.35
✓ Great camerasI wanted something for inside my detached garages. These cameras work great and are a good value. Easy to install. Great picture. App is easy and fast. Only thing that kept me from giving five stars is they don’t provide a video clip when motion is detected to my Alexa Show like Ring does but does give a verbal notice..Version: 2.11.25
✓ Please add seconds to the schedule/timer!A great app and great, easy to use products. I was a little disappointed, though, as I had bought a TP100 smartplug after being told you could set it on a timer to the exact second, which is what I need (minutes aren’t specific enough for my needs). Unfortunately it turns out that this functionality isn’t included after all – it can only be set to hours and minutes. However, this is a limitation of the app rather than the plug, so it should be fairly straightforward to add to the app – so please add it in! In the meantime, I have repurposed the plug for a living room light, which isn’t what I bought it for, but hope to see this feature added soon in which case I’ll buy another one for its original purpose. It’s an excellent plug – small, inexpensive and simple to use, as is the app, but just disappointed it didn’t actually meet my needs over something that’s relatively simple..Version: 2.4.25

I got a set of two cameras for a very good price and it was super easy to set up!! The motion detection is amazing it alerts me when there is a person or motion! ✓ A cam system that worksLiterally less than 1minute tk set up and have running, unlike other brands I have tried and are flakey if they work at all. Only 4 days in but have had 100% coverage with no problems. Alarm works as it should, detecting either people, cars or both with not any false alarms yet. The cat walked across screen without tripping it while set to person detect, which then promptly notified me when a person walked into view moments later. I’m running a Tapo C110 and Tapo C320WS, and am having the same experience with both cams. I will be buying more soon..Version: 2.17.1
✓ Helped the humans rest!Wow are my husband and I glad we bought this. We have a new puppy and couldn’t distinguish her calls from needing a wee to being needy. Or be confident she wasn’t destroying the living room. This little camera was so easy to setup and has given us a lot of peace of mind. Not going to knock it down on stars but it would be nice if it came with a couple of different attachment options not just screws. Sticky tabs or clips maybe? First one was to use on my espresso coffee machine so I can now ask Alexa to turn Silvia on and when I go down to the kitchen the machine is all warmed and ready to go. Have since bought another 5! ✓ PhenomenalThis little camera is fantastic. HD quality pictures, easy set up, excellent app. Brilliant! I liked it so much I bought 3. One gripe I have now is that it regularly requires me to “tap to refresh” otherwise the picture freezes. My routine now is: 1/ open app 2/ wait for it to initialise and make contact with the cameras 3/ tap to view one of the cameras and then select multi view to pick up the others 4/ tap to refresh each camera as they freeze 5/ shut down and restart the app 6/ proceed with 2 and 3 above and it is then usually successful in showing live pictures from each camera without freezing. Can you please get rid of the “tap to refresh” function and fix whatever is triggering it? This will save me from trashing them in frustration!.Version: 2.2.35

It turns out creating new ID somehow does not work with Hotmail. Used another email and everything worked. The app itself is very well designed and intuitive to use. ✓ I don’t like the update for iPadJust one little issue I’ve found on iPad 9. I had trouble changing the Brightness setting of my smart-bulb when making a Shortcut. The brightness slider has been changed to the bottom of the screen where you now have to scroll down to find it. I prefer the older design, as the brightness slider was right in front of you. ✓ Tapo C110A nice compact security camera. The downside is that it can be controlled from one account only. Would have liked the ability to be controlled by my wife’s account also, so that if she returns home before me, she is able to turn the camera off herself. This is not possible at the moment. Seems useless to be able to view from 2 phones but only controlled by one. Hopefully a future update will solve this. ✓ Good upgrade to Kasa appWhen my new P300 power board wouldn’t connect with the Kasa app I thought I would have to use 2 apps to control my devices. However I signed in with the same credentials and all my older Kasa devices were moved to the new app and the addition of the new device was extremely easy. The motion detection is awesome, as soon as Manny makes a move “Manny’s Nanny” sends me a motion detection alert on my phone, so I can see what he’s up to!! I have several lamps connected to tapo plugs, all are assigned to different rooms in the tapo app, however when picking which lamps to turn on at sunset all I see is a list of devices called lamp. The Tapo app is GREAT and is the only one so far with a *PRIVACY* mode which instantly disables recording and streaming. BEST THING is internet is NOT required to see your cameras or get playback from the camera SD card. All the cheap Chinese ones make you view your camera them through their server. ✓ Quickest smart appI have got a few Smart devices now and recently bought a Tapo smart plug. I always dread setting up a new one after experiencing difficulties in the past and taking ages to connect things. I have to say though, this is the quickest I’ve ever set anything up. I was so impressed that I have bought another Tapo Smart Plug, and even though, I only had 11% charge left on my iPad, I managed to set it up even quicker - as I already had an account. ✓ Works nicely.I looked around for something to give me an idea of how much power my computers were consuming, and this does exactly that. One of my computers uses around 30 watts while idle, but as soon as I start encoding a video, it jumps up to around 200 watts, but it does hit peaks of around 238 watts at times. It’s also handy for being to turn on and off electrical devices likes lamps. ✓ Nice CamerasI did a lot of research before I bought these I’m March 2023. They are very easy to set up and the app is very functional. Clear picture and zoom feature is nice. Negatives Voice from the camera to your phone is fine. Voice from you phone to the camera in not really good and choppy. Not a deal breaker as I bought those to watch my dog and I’d call the police if I seen someone. With that said, you can be notified anytime there is motion within the camera view or not be notified. There is an alarm that can be set to go off but it’s not loud and sounds like a child’s toy. I just keep it off and call the police if needed. Overall, wifi is great but does require a plug or outlet. App is also great at managing multiple cameras. Storage is nice on the SD card or you can put in the cloud for a price of course. ✓ Affordable, reliable and easy to useI started out with one camera (c200) and had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. The app is pleasant to use with good features and interface. I’ve expanded my camera range after the good experience from the c200 and the app handles all the cameras live streaming simultaneously very well. What the stand out thing for me was how instant and quick motion detection notifications are sent to your device. I compared the tapo against two higher end hikvision cameras that were placed next to the tapo and viewing the exact same scene and on every occasion when I purposely walked in front of the cameras to set off the motion detection the tapo was the first camera that I received a notification of motion detection to my phone out of the three. The other two were not far behind but never did they beat the tapo. That’s pretty impressive compared to the price difference between hikvision and tapo cameras. Also recording and play back on an installed SIM card in the camera works well. And the wifi connection is unreal. The live feed is like it’s a wired connection. Setting the camera up was so easy and so quick I had it all done in about 5 minutes if that. The footage is crystal clear. I use the camera to detect motion at a door for packages, family, intruders, etc. All they let you use is the iPhone “tri tone” which most people use when receiving a text message. This sounds minor except if you’re busy you might miss an important motion detection while the phones in your pocket, thinking it’s just another text message. ✓ Good plugs, great value and great convenience.Got four (for the price of two, on Black Friday) so for under £10 each they are great. Easy to connect and with the app, easy to use. If you think slightly laterally they are even better. Both the plugs and lights remember their last setting before being powered down so I can put the bulb on an ordinary light, switch on via Tapo then use it as normal on a light switch then if I go away I just turn on the light switch before leaving and I can use the bulb as a security light and return to normal on my return without any need to set up. Similarly the plugs have a manual on/off switch so can use as normal then switch over without set-up. The “away” function is a bit sketchy on its random switching but I suppose that is its purpose but I think I may programme it myself. ✓ Not bad at all, needs HomeKit support!Thought I’d try a C100 camera out as very cheap to buy! Of course the main omission is no native HomeKit support, which I have worked around to some extent using HomeBridge. Now the app is quite nicely laid out and functionality is good, only two issues I find so far are: 1. Sharing an image inside the app via Messages gets you stuck in that submenu, go cannot get out of the messages ‘slide up’ after sending without force quitting the app. 2. Favourites is spelt wrong for the U.K., it has a U in British English. The camera image quality I find very good, even in night mode. I’d go as far as to say amazing for under £20! The audio is clearly discernible at either end (mic/speaker). And motion detection works nicely too. Now if the app/device had HomeKit support it would be 5 star and I’d fill my house with their cameras. Eufy, another Chinese brand has announced a similar camera for US launch shipping June, at a compatible RRP, that has native HomeKit support and HomeKit secure video promised via a firmware update. Come on TP-Link you could grab some of this market too, especially as you sell in stores unlike Eufy/Anker. Overall like the app and camera, but need native HomeKit support..Version: 2.2.6

It supports my Tapo TC70 camera which was easy to set up and use via the app. The controls are straightforward and simple to use. On tapping I’m left with a completely black screen which requires a certain amount of fiddling about to rectify. Also it keeps changing itself from HQ to LQ. I’d like to request a new feature though… In the Cameras tab you can set either Home or Away detection modes. What these do can be customised to your preferences. Please could you add the ability for users to create their own new modes? Home is fine when I’m home and moving around the whole house / garden / garage. Away is fine when I’m away. But I’d like to be able to add more modes, let’s say I’m home but I’m not going into the garage.
