TpPLC for Positive User Reviews

P gudTook a couple minutes to set up the extender and clone the existing network settings. LED toggle is a nice feature and name changes etc seem pretty responsive.Version: 1.2.23

AV1300 Wi-fi extenderAbsolutely awesome products easy to set up and modify settings. Great price and value also there are a lot more expensive ways to do what these do bargain!!!.Version: 1.4.0

Cannot display in LandscapeApp is not as bad as a lot of the review. Have working fine on a couple of phones, but will not display in Landscape on my iPad. Bit of niggle when I have iPad in a keyboard case!.Version: 1.4.2

Works for meThe kit worked out of the box but wouldn’t auto sync password settings. Once I had downloaded the manual from tp-link’s website the app was easy to use and I changed the SSID and password to my existing ones in a couple of minutes..Version: 1.2.23

Was very unsure, but works amazinglyMy garage is 200’ from the router making a reaper almost impossible. Literally plugging in both devices took 5 minutes, and my garage has internet!.Version: 1.3.1

Useful App (version 1.3.7)Installation was easy. It works as expected. It does what it says it would do in the description. I am using it with tplink model TL-WPA8631P KIT, which is excellent. This app allows to administer your tplink network at the basic level. It also gives you access to the web interfase for a more complete configuration. Just remember that the password to enter the web interfase is the same one as the 2.4 Ghz or 5 GHz networks. This password comes in the label on the side of the extender unit, and you can change this password with this app. Overall, I am very satisfied with this app..Version: 1.3.7

Good WiFi power line extender.I have a home internet computer system with WiFi capability using a router and a WiFi extender. My house is not wired with Ethernet cable. To operate a WiFi sprinkler controller, located in my garage, from my house or yard; I needed to get a WiFi signal to go through a brick wall. Using the house and garage electrical wiring, this power extender worked very well and the price was much lower than any other alternative..Version: 1.2.30

Simple to setup and use… when the units are the right way aroundI bought an AV1300 kit that came with a main unit and a repeater unit that has Wi-Fi. To be clear for the sake of this review, only the repeater unit has Wi-Fi and that’s perfectly fine. I kept plugging in the large main unit into the modem and the smaller repeater unit into a power point further away but it would connect and then drop out. I chatted with TP-Link and was helped in 2 minutes: the small unit is the main unit and the larger unit is the repeater! Makes sense since the repeater has more functionality, i.e. it has Wi-Fi. Once that was sorted and I stopped being embarrassed, I have only one issue left: the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi download (only the download) drops to <1 Mbps when it should be around 50Mbps. The upload is fine. Although this app lets me see the powerline speeds in both directions, it doesn’t really let me check much about the Wi-Fi. However, for all other functions, it is simple and easy to use. The app could do with a few extra features, namely more Wi-Fi troubleshooting capability..Version: 1.4.6

Works wellDespite instructions saying not to, I had to use extension lead for main unit to connect to router. Doesn’t seem to effect it! Wi-fi which barely reached the end of patio, now gives full signal strength to bottom of garden from extender plugged into lounge wall socket. Well pleased..Version: 1.2.30

Reviews are too harshWhat did people expect it to do? I live in a Victorian home with very thick walls and regular extenders can’t connect far enough. I bought a set of three power line adapters for £40 and now every room has a solid 30mbps download speed, down from 60mbps on the router itself. The extenders (if they worked) would only ever reach 5mbps..Version: 1.3.7

Very Nice!Setup was simple! Addition of 4220’s simple. My condo is covered with WiFi. My TV’s are wired now and are working much better..Version: 1.3.1

FlawlessHad no problems setting up the power line units nor controlling basic setting with the app..Version: 1.2.4

Tplink WiFi booster / extenderThe app is useful to set up larger networks or guest access for a small business/hotel. Systems are easy to set up and the app allows you to schedule on / off times for WiFi.Version: 1.5.1

Works wellResponsive to all connected powerline devices. Very useful tool and appreciate the well written instructions for all TP-Link devices..Version: 1.3.1

Works pretty well, limited controlsPLC networking depends on your electrical installation, which is to blame if your PLC network is not reliable or provides poor data speeds, not necessarily the PLC hardware. As per the app, it works, though it was updated only once in the last twelve months! I would expect more controls and access to logs from within the app directly..Version: 1.2.4

Not sure about the other reviewsIn my experience the app does what it is supposed to do and does it first time. 4 stars only as I needed a bit more info from the app. Perhaps it can be combined with other tp link apps to provide an all in one solution.Version: 1.3.7

Not bad!!Wish I had more control of the end units, but it met my needs! Nice work.Version: 1.3.7

Handy additionEasy to setup and access my power line network as it’s plug and play. The app gives access to device names and passwords for each, which has meant I have been able to upgrade from the simple numerical passwords supplied with the kit. Speed of the network is a useful measure..Version: 1.3.12

Stable once setupA bit of fussing to get wifi to one of the out buildings on our ranch. Had to add another plug outlet on the circuit and that did the trick. Now have a stable 522 - 544 MPS more than enough for Alexa and smartphone apps.Version: 1.3.12

Works fine for me as well..Nothing wrong with this app. Seems to be working perfectly fine here...Version: 1.2.30

Seamless✨I was skeptical 🤨 at first, due to past experiences with new and innovative products that get your money and leave a person stupefied in wires and bad instructions. Not the case with this “tp-link 300Mbps Wi-Fi” outfit. After opening the box and gandering at the instructions a bit. I followed the easy to understand instructions and BAM!!! Done. I moved the Extender to my desired location and again, things worked as explained. So far so good 😊 I’m a happy camper, and so is the rest of the family. I didn’t have to unplug or shut down my WiFi connection to do it. That was impressive and SEAMLESS!!!.Version: 1.3.1

Great hardware, app now uselessPower line pretty much does what it says on the box and a real bonus in a large Victorian house with a few RSJs slotted in here and there. The app seems dead with iOS 14 and needs an update ASAP or a message to use an alternative.Version: 1.3.7

Does everything it needs to.You can see your devices, name them how you like and even toggle the led’s. You can change the WiFi name and password or disable it. You can also go to the web configuration page. I also tested the desktop software but uninstalled since I can just use this app. I’m not sure why this has got so many 1 stars. Perhaps some users had issues with older versions..Version: 1.3.7

Can’t buy individual unitsI bought the WiFi kit - actually works great - but they don’t seem to sell individual add ons ( like additional WiFi ends ) so it’s sort of a con - to add another single unit, you need to buy another base with a kit - seems like a waste to me.Version: 1.2.23

Great Wi-Fi for grandkids roomIt linked up on my first attempt with no issues and it has been working ever sense. The kids are no longer complaining about buffering during movies. According to the app the link speed through the electrical wiring is running over 300 Mbs. Being an old timer from the 1940s I am really impressed with the simplicity of this system..Version: 1.2.30

Works FineI’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews on this app. It’s not designed to do much, but it does do what it says. I found it very helpful in diagnosing the bottleneck in my power line network. I have 5 devices, and seeing the up and download rates of each device to the other 4 was very helpful. As a side note, I discovered this helpful bit of info in the forums. If you see a big discrepancy between up vs download speed between two devices, the source of noise is likely closer to the one receiving the slower rate. eg if A->B is fast but B->A is slow, the noise source is likely near A..Version: 1.3.7
