TpPLC for Negative User Reviews

Worked fine until for a monthIt worked fine for about a month but then anything you clicked on would tell you “operation timeout” I can’t even change my password because of this please fix ASAP.Version: 1.3.7

Can’t see network!Doesn’t show up in list of apps to grant permission to..Version: 1.3.12

No Ethernet supportThis app does not work for their entire Powerlink product line, which is not acceptable. TP-link should support their customers by keeping their app up to date. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS..Version: 1.3.1

It doesn't workI've got 4 x 8010P devices on the same network as my phone. I'm writing this review on the internet connection that traverses the Powerline adapters but still the app doesn't find any. The app on my PC on the same wireless network finds them without an issue..Version: 1.1.1

No WPA4220 v1 coverageThis app doesn’t work with WPA4220 v1, though it says it works with v2, 3, and 4. Not a really big deal, unless, like me, you’re rocking the old original, v1. Please send money so that I can throw out my perfectly good v1 and buy new units!! Oh, the windows tpPLC works great, as do my 4229 v1s. Just would like to add iPad compatibility ..Version: 1.3.1

Time wasterThank you for minis 30 minutes it took from my life to discover the app advertised on the product page does not work for this product!!!.Version: 1.2.4

Broken appThe app fails to ask iOS for local network permissions, and therefore fails to work as I can’t add it manually without the app requesting access..Version: 1.5.1

Ease of timeDoesn’t detect tl-wpa4220. Waste of time and effort..Version: 1.2.4

Missing ‘Power Save’ functionThe app ‘found’ my adapter and extender no problem and the functions seem to work fine. However it is missing the ‘power save’ option. The adapter unit is set to save power after 5 minutes of inactivity as a default. This means that when watching a video it turns itself off after 5 minutes. Very frustrating. This function isn’t mentioned in the manual or set up guide. To switch off Power Save Mode you have to download the utility app and enter the advanced settings to find Power Save Mode. For something that is likely to impact every user it’s crazy it’s not in the app and not mentioned in the set up guide..Version: 1.2.23

Not greatApp will not connect to my devices or recognize them.Version: 1.2.30

How the **** do I change a password with this app??Changed the password on setup but it still defaulted. What a waste of $300.Version: 1.3.12

Not workingUnable to find my eop devices... back to the desktop version for now.Version: 1.2.4

Security inadequateJust go the hardware and installation was a snap. After pairing and configuring the device settings the hardware worked well. Once logging in to the app with admin Id and password, there is no way to log out of it. Closing the app by swiping up does not log you out of the app. The only way is to delete the app entirely and reload from the App Store. Also, The Wi-Fi password is visible when app is open. It should be hidden..Version: 1.3.4

Waste of time...Unfortunately, this app is not up-to-date and does not support my TL-PA9020P kit... After spending few minutes resetting everything with the hope to see something coming live, the conclusion was quite deceptive... Unless there is a major update, do not download....Version: 1.3.1

Good and badWhen it works, it is great. I have 4 units, one of them is Wi-Fi, the others are Ethernet only. Installation took a couple of hours to settle down, but once this was complete, it worked very well. At the moment the Wi-fi unit seems to ‘go to sleep’ about once per week and needs a reboot to get it working! Frustrating to say the least..Version: 1.3.7

Good Design.... But doesn’t work.Useless app that stopped working after a few months. The customer service keeps you on the phone forever (as they charge the calls per minute) and send you on a wild goose chase trying to the locate the right version for the right device for the right country..Version: 1.2.23

Useless appI have two power lines and 1 wifi extender and it never picked them up. It’s making the product unusable. Won’t buy any TO link stuff again, more trouble than it’s worth. Shame as it was so good when I started using them a few years ago..Version: 1.4.6

Can’t access my local networkJust installed this on my iPhone and it asked me to go to settings and give it local network access. I went to settings and the app isn’t there. Seems like it could work if it was … but who knows ….Version: 1.3.7

Powerlines not detectedThree powerlines in the house, none detected..Version: 1.2.4

Scam productI bought the Av600 powerline wifi kit - TL-WPA4220 KIT and try to setup this app which doesn’t even show up in apps to do the prompts when first click on it… why produce a product that you can’t even setup the management side of things honestly fix this ASAP otherwise I’m returning all my products for something that is actually going to work properly.Version: 1.3.7

TL-PA9020 not supported yet???How can you not do what it need to control your devices on Apple OS?!.Version: 1.4.2

UselessI have a TL-PA8010 and this app is useless for it.Version: 1.3.7

Very temperamentalWhen my TP Link system actually works it works well, but will stop working for no apparent reason. I have had to reset it many times. The iOS app and the Mac app have confusingly different features, some of which aren’t even mentioned in the user guide..Version: 1.3.1

Only supports TL-WPA devicesDespite the TL-PA* manuals all indicating that you can manage the device using this app, the app itself only lists a handful of TL-WPA* devices (i.e. those thst also include a wifi radio) as supported, with "More coming soon..." As this app is years old, I'm not holding my breath, and may be returning the devices themselves..Version: 1.3.7

Simply doesn’t see the adapters (AV2000 / TP-WPA9610)I’m writing this on my iPhone m, connected via Wifi to my mesh disk which is connected to my router via a set of the TP-Link AV2000 adapters (TP-WPA9610). The adapters themselves seem brilliant but the app is absolutely useless as it simply doesn’t seem to work (as evidenced by the vast majority of people leaving 1 star reviews)..Version: 1.4.1

PointlessFound this app from a link on the TP-Link for my PowerLine devices. Run the app and says no devices found - even though there are six and all working. The app says my devices are supported but it doesn’t appear that they are. Pointless application and the developers have clearly spent very little time in test and acceptance..Version: 1.2.23

Useless AppI find it hard to say anything good about this app. What I do find odd, is that in the screenshots on the App page within the App Store it actually shows my model of devices connected on their network but when I download the app and run it I’m told I have no compatible devices? On the bright side? At the end of the list it tells me more devices coming soon? Unfortunately, that list hasn’t changed at all since I’ve had the app and that’s probably a couple of years? I suppose time is relative and to TP a couple of years is probably a soon?.Version: 1.3.7

Doesn't workTpPLC doesn't exist in settings to set network access permissions..Version: 1.3.7

Poor customer supportThis app was worthless. I called customer service to find they are not available. Waited 20 minutes in queue for an agent on chat. I got a response from ‘Daryl’ once every 4 minutes, and was ultimately disconnected with no resolution. Ridiculous product and service support.Version: 1.3.4

Doesn’t work on iOS 15Requires access to the local network, but app is not listed in the iOS Settings menu so that you can provide permission to access the local network. Hopefully vendor will update app to solve this..Version: 1.3.7

AbandonedI think considering how long the last update was ago, the fact the Powerline Community forum on the TP-Link website and the fact there are so many bugs on this app shows TP Link have abandoned Powerline users. The app struggles to every show the devices, unless they are Powerline work Wi-Fi. You race against the app to select the adapters in the list before getting an operation timeout error..Version: 1.3.1

UselessI'd give it no stars if possible, never detects my power line adapters..Version: 1.2.4

I don’t think it works with meI’ve downloaded the app since my powerline devices are not working as they should and I wanted to check how much speed they actually get via powerline... however, this app can identify my devices but according to it they are not connected to each other, when thats’s not true as they are communicating right now since I’m connected to the internet using them!.Version: 1.3.7

UselessMight be OK if it worked - but I'll never know because it fails to find any of my Powerline adapters. So it's a waste of your time. Don't bother, there are plenty of other time wasters out there to choose from!.Version: 1.2.4

PowerlinesI installed one connected to my router and two to various sockets. I then added a WiFi one. All showed in the app. No problem. Now non are viewable. This may be due to the app update recently. I’ve restarted the base one - no change. I’ve pressed the ‘pair’ button numerous times for different times and different number of quick presses - apart from the buttons flashing, no change. Some have said to insert a pin into the reset hole - what reset hole? All the powerlines work but the app is 100% useless at the moment..Version: 1.5.1

Can’t do one Powerline thingTry changing Powerline name from default on two PLC devices after they are linked up via powerline. The initial PLC adapter device loses its IP after it links up with a second PLC device, such as WiFi extender. You can see it in this app as one of your powerline devices, but you can’t configure or do anything with it from this app. Nor from the web GUI, as it does not have and IP address anyone once it’s linked up over powerline. For how elementary this app is, it can’t even do one thing which is directly related to powerline configuration. The WiFi extender settings could have been covered by Tether app (not that Tether offers anything beyond just the very very basic WiFi configuration, even there with very limited options)..Version: 1.4.6

Useless appI have no idea what this app is really for except maybe turn the LED lights on and off !!! The devices show sporadically and then disappear. Please please make this app do something and help us to more practically control and monitor our devices and network. Surely this is within your power to do and will make your clients so much happier !!!! Please do something.. otherwise I guess people will move to a competitor!.Version: 1.5.1

No deal with my many 2Gb PLCsJust no go for any of my either older or new 2Gb PLCs. TP - why not release an app like this once you’ve hooked it up to all your PLCs? Even the desktop app suffers on modern high res screens - having tiny unreadable text. Have to literally use the Windows magnifier utility to read it. Your software team need a bit of a kick!.Version: 1.3.1

Dosent work on appleUnimaginable how can u put something that dosent work on apple.Version: 1.4.0

Utility for Mac and IOSOn Mac version, it is really nothing and cannot work at all. App cannot open On IOS, it open and find nothing. Don’t know what is this apps. Very disappointed.Version: 1.4.2

Info about this app not alignedIn the website the 4220 Kit is referring to this app but this kit is not supported. Add it guys! :).Version: 1.2.23

Useless...Only supporting a small list of units....Version: 1.3.1

Does not support TL-WPA4220Not many powerline devices supported.Version: 1.2.4

A stone would have more functionality… than this app..Version: 1.4.2

BrutalDoes not work as IOS APP, for the powerline adapter. Then the MAC download you cannot install either. How do you sell products and not support them or leave people hanging on something that should be easy. BRUTAL.Version: 1.4.0

Very slow speedI have the fastest fibre rate yet speed coming out is only 135 max!! Slow slow slow..Version: 1.3.1

Does not work for all Powerline devicesWas excited to expand my network throughout my house. Sadly this app doesn’t work for me to manage the devices I just ordered TP-WAP7617.Version: 1.3.12

Initially okSo now after about two weeks, these devices appear to become saturated after a few days and internet grinds to a halt. I have the SSID cloned, so same name throughout the house. So I find myself switching all off and on every morning. The data rate graphic usually shows second adapter around 11Mbps Now after a couple of weeks I find myself having to switch the system on and off once a day otherwise it just grinds to a halt ! WiFi Does now extend into the garden which it did not previously, so some success Setup was ok, cloned network. Variable data rate depending, according to graphic, on where the extenders are positioned, but that might be due to separate electrical circuits. Can quite remember which are on the new circuit. Changed names through mobile app, and expended this to be same for iPad app, but clearly not broadcast to other devices. For now working. Have to change router next week and rip it all apart so will see if goes back ok. Week on and it quite often will not find devices, just says none available, clearly they are and I’m on the same network. Rather frustrating. developer, check you error messages “Do not have a hyfi devices”. In this situation when I select LED, this is what reports!.Version: 1.3.1

UselessI have a pair of TL-PA8030P (power inline with 3 Ethernet ports). Doesn’t see them. They are not supported apparently. The Mac OS version doesn’t even start. Is TP-Link even trying? I have now also 3 Devolo Magic 2 and no problems... don’t way to write off perfectly working hardware (I have some speed issues on one... that I want to trouble shoot).Version: 1.3.5

Ignored SWI use tp2000 and 1300 Hardware is ok it seems to work Sw is neglected by the company Does not even come up on Mac iOS version is buggy Most of the time it does not find the devices.Version: 1.3.1

DecoDoesn’t work.Version: 1.4.2

Needs updatedDoesn’t support my newer devices. desktop app works fine..Version: 1.2.30

Average control appGreat product (TL-WPA7510 KIT), taken down a notch by a very average setup and control app. The great news is that you really don’t need this except for special case setup..Version: 1.3.1

Doesn't work at allThe Mac OS app finds all my Powerline adapters and let's me adjustable them, see the speed, etc. This iOS app sees no adapters and as such is completely useless (and yes, all devices are compatible)..Version: 1.1.1

Doesn’t work with new TL-PA7010 I just boughtNot supported yet?.Version: 1.2.30

Still no Support for TL-PA4010PChecking the reviews and yep, still no support for a severely outdated app, I thought TP-along were on their game, clearly not..Version: 1.5.1

No support for the 4220No support for the 4220 despite what it says in the description..Version: 1.2.30

Great idea but will not work with my power lineWhen will this app be able to work with TL-WPA4226KIT V1.2. Can the developer advise when this would be happening. You say more models are being added but it seems you only adding the newer ones. How about supporting the older models as well..Version: 1.2.30

Stopped workingHorrible and really unreliable app. Just stopped working after the latest iOS update..Version: 1.3.7

Does not workMac version of the app finds powerline adapters just fine but this one doesn’t. Non-functional junk..Version: 1.4.2

Doesn’t work for actual tp-link power line adaptersI have four, and this app doesn’t see them. I have to use a desktop app, which is wonky. Why?.Version: 1.3.7

Needs an updateYou cannot proceed to use this app in iOS 14.2 as the app doesn’t appear in settings leaving it impossible to allow network access so effectively doesn’t work. Also, you don’t really need an app to tell you that the TP link device isn’t functioning as intended. All you need to do for that, is buy one and plug it in. It won’t be long until it is disappointing you..Version: 1.3.7

This might be tp-links worst appAbsolute rubbish. You people should be ashamed of yourselves..Version: 1.3.1

Can't even find it in my settingsWhen downloading and opening the app for the first time it says it needs local network permissions and instructs you to turn this on on settings. Couldn't see it so used the search on my iPhone xs just in case I was blurry eyed but iPhone can't see it either 🤷🏻‍♀️.Version: 1.3.7

DisasterSo this app didn't find anything and there is no way to add device. The instruction is rubbish as well. Did everything as in it and still didn't work. How annoying is this. Btw highly overpriced for something not working! Why I need to login somewhere to have posibility to set upnthis crap? I think it's going back. Don't have any more patients in to it..Version: 1.3.5

Quick and easy to set-up and view connection speed but…I think this is a great app to view and manage your Powerline network. I have (5) TP Link Powerlines and it’s really handy to see the connection speed between each individual Powerline. However I do find it frustrating that the Desktop app on my PC gives me more options, such as being able to change the QoS on each individual Powerline, which is something that cannot be done through the mobile app. This makes the app less accessible or provides less features if I did not own a PC. If the desktop tpPLC app features that run on my PC could be integrated into the mobile app then it would be 5 stars from myself and I’m sure many others would agree..Version: 1.4.1

No device foundApp insists on “no device found” even though it’s obviously connected to one..Version: 1.3.1

Can’t detect any of my power line devicesNone of them. Useless tool..Version: 1.2.30

App is poor but wpa4220 kit works wellWill need to download the tpPLC software for your computer to have full access to manage the devices. App is next to useless. Had a problem with wifi dropping frequently. Found to be caused by frequent internet drops with the ISP. If Ethernet connected to the extender unit, you will see the LAN light flick off & on showing the drop out. Wifi then fails despite wifi light staying lit. A third party wifi device is more forgiving of internet drops and will keep the wifi connected. Needed to run PINGPLOTTER to find the internet fault. Once I resolved with the ISP to get a stable connection, wifi issue on the extender was fixed..Version: 1.4.1

Please get this utility working on other TP Link Power line adaptersI have some of the latest TP Link Power line adapter, but I do not get the version that includes Wireless and this is a conscious decision as I use the Deco Wireless Mesh product and the last thing I want is a lot more unnecessary Wirless signals around the place. I use the TP Link Poer line product in part to provide Deco Back haul channels and it is important to know how they are working…… and there is NO app to do this……amazing.Version: 1.4.2

MediocreThe app works, but you are better off opening up the laptop and using the web interface. Biggest problem on the app is once you enter the password the keyboard can obscure the button to submit the credentials. The app doesn’t work well with the OSs inbuilt password manager. If you can enter your password. It’s generally hot and miss whether any command will be carried out..Version: 1.3.1

App doesn’t work. Will not connect to my TP-Link TL-PA9020 power line network. My laptop will connect to it using TP-Link’s Windows app so I know they are there and can configure them that way. Both the iPhone and laptop are connected to the same wifi ssid so I’m not sure what the issue is! And yes, I’ve allowed the app access to my network. Anyway, 1 star as it doesn’t work at all for me..Version: 1.4.0

Stupid programming?Wireless off scheduler is badly programmed. It will not accept wifi off from: 23h00 until 06h00 the next day. Error message that the next time is before the first. Which is technically correct. But it is the only way I see to have it off those times. Since it has no option to have WiFi on from 06h00 until 23h00..Version: 1.2.30

App doesn’t show up in setting pageCan’t manage it from the app because the app doesn’t show up in iPhone settings to allow network access. That’s a poorly written app..Version: 1.3.12

ExtenderVery poor quality, last dlink product I will ever buy..Version: 1.5.1

Need to add more modelsNeed to add this models TL-WPA4220 and TL-PA4016P.Version: 1.2.23

UselessThe app is next to useless. It isn't clear if you need to connect your phone to your normal home wifi SSID or 1 of the 2 SSID from the device. I have tried all 3 and eventually found 1 device, which it then refuses to connect to. May as throw the app in the bin as its poorly designed..Version: 1.1.1

Needs support for more devicesNeeds support for non-WiFi devices, like the TL-PA9020P..Version: 1.3.5

Basically abandonedDoesn’t support the Av2000 after years of waiting..Version: 1.4.2

Doesn’t really workKeeps crashing on MacBook and can’t find the device via app on iPhone...useless.Version: 1.3.7

Please PLEASE fix the app and save your brand!!!Please just hire a good developer and work with your engineers to make the app functional! I just want to see my powerlines data rates but the app can’t even find the devices most of the time even tho I am connected to them..Version: 1.4.2

Devices are only found in the app 10% of the timeI am constantly refreshing the app as most of the time I get Device not Found. I feel is it most likely a TP-Link issue and not an issue in the app as when I get device not found, I also cannot connect to the adapter directly using the tp-link panel using the IP in a browser. Constantly cutting out and when it does connect it disconnects and goes back to device not found and the IP in the browser no longer connects..Version: 1.4.6

TL-WPA4220Cannot be detected using iOS apps, desktop works fine but mobile much easier please fix this issue ASAP.Version: 1.2.30

Doesn’t see my devicesUpdated due to user error. Once I plugged in my new device, the app could see every TP-LINK device on my network, through the new device. I was able to go in and rename everything to create a seamless experience for users (they only see two networks, one for normal, one for 5G). I have one device that is dramatically underperforming out of 4, and the app helped identify, but not troubleshoot that. ——————— Like other reviewers, this app does not see any of my devices, old or new..Version: 1.2.30

Have Company Got Their Non Tech Staff to Test This? It’s a rhetorical question to which I suspect the answer is no. I have tried to use the instructions that came with the twin devices and the first problem is that neither of the devices looks anything like the ones in the installation guide. On the packaging box, neither of the devices is described as adapter or extender so maybe they are interchangeable? This would be useful to know in case one is master and slave. Is a Powerline network the same as a home network? The App is dreadful and assumes like the website that you will know the difference between various technical terminology. Is a Powerline Adapter the same as a pass through Powerline ac WiFi kit or is it a Range Extender Devices are not found even though they are 5ft away and working (the extender). The web interface is not secure and.Version: 1.4.5

HopelessWorks briefly then drops out never to return. It may crash your network with all users getting message “your “Ethernet” does not have a valid ip. If you see that your well and truly screwed..Version: 1.3.7

TrashThis company blows this is extremely difficult to manage and directions are unclear..Version: 1.3.1

Outdated, does not work with recent hardwareSimilar experience as others. The PC ap works fine but the iOS ap does not recognize the latest hardware. I have the 9610 kit and the 9020 kit. Website lists the ap as compatible for both but it is not!!!!.Version: 1.2.30

Doesn’t recognize listed deviceI’m connected to the extender WiFi network, but the app isn’t recognizing the device despite the device being listed as compatible on the app..Version: 1.3.1

Great app until updateUnable to detect devices after upgrade. Was a great app when it was working. Less 2 stars!.Version: 1.3.7

Add support for more model typesPlease.Version: 1.3.7

WOEFUL support for Mac usersYou people really need to up your game in support for Mac users you don’t have enough applications and support programs to cover all your items available to be service on all Mac platforms It’s not as if Apple I need to start a business this year get it together.Version: 1.2.4

PointlessIt has one job and couldn’t even get started. Doesn’t even appear in the list of app settings..Version: 1.3.7

Works but not transparentlyWorks but not transparently. There are two speeds but the + & - of using them is lost (if it is there at all) in the very ‘small print’. To optimise one’s use you seem to have to be a real techi. To the lay user it works, but one is never sure if you are getting the most out of it’s potential capabilities. D.Version: 1.3.7

Total junk. Does not work at allI have a compatible power linedevice and got the app by scanning my box and instructions. The app saw my device and kept asking me to create a new password. Many very careful attempts later it still would not let me create one. The apps features are pretty low end but nice IF they work. They indicate you can turn off the lights which is nice for a bedroom. But that never worked. Just spoke to my son who has the mesh units in his house which he bought yesterday. The units work great but exactly the same issue with this confounded app. It is total crap and should be pulled from the store..Version: 1.5.1

This App is trashIt doesn’t work at all. Followed instruction and nothing. Won’t pick up the power line extender with its own network and pass or with WPS and cloning my wifi router. Don’t waste your time downloading this..Version: 1.5.1

Can’t find my adaptorsThey’re supposed to be supported but can’t be found..Version: 1.2.4

Rubbish app - doesn't workDoes work on 4227 model adapter.Version: 1.2.4

Horrible…used to work greatUsed to be able to see all 6 of my Powerline adapters. NOW…it can not see any of them!? Tried deleting the app and then reinstalling it…nothing! Used to be a great app! Please fix.Version: 1.3.12

App is uselessInitially I when I brought the extender’s (TL-WPA7617) a few months ago the app sort of worked and could see the extenders and Powerline adapter but now everything is working fine but the app will not find the extenders or adapter and so the only way of altering anything is going in via the browser making the app completely useless. Does not show up in the iOS settings so nothing can be changed. Only place it does show up is under privacy and I have given it local network access in there and still nothing..Version: 1.4.2

App doesn’t support model 4220TP-Link App Developers please add support for this model number!.Version: 1.2.23

Buggy, intermittent app function.I have the TL-WPA4220 KIT to get internet to a dead spot in one bedroom. There is very little app or firmware support for issues on these devices, but I did get it up and running and was able to use this app and the link to web based settings from inside the app for some time. I had the base unit in an old router from maybe 2005 (router being used as AP) and in general I could load the app and check settings and status. I upgraded the AP router to an old NetgearR6300 for better AP speeds. After that, I can not see any of the PLC through this app. I can see on the PC program (off and on) and I know the WiFi is working on the PLC, but it doesn't load on the app. Tried resetting, re-syncing, etc etc. again, can see when connect a computer to the WiFi or LAN port on the PLC, but not the app. I also find on my phone only the internet from the PLC constantly loses access and comes up with some random funky IP. Again, only on my iPhone which is the only phone with the app. But all other devices work. Anyway, 1 star since the devices are working and can access settings via LAN but not the phone app after just a change of the AP it's running through. One more note. If I move the 2 devices to one same outlet spot and connect, then the app sees them sometimes. It's useless unsupported tech and program. Very disappointing.....Version: 1.4.2

ShoddySimply doesn’t work or recognise devices on the same network - even after going into settings to allow it access to the network. The app also doesn’t appear in Apple settings as an app in its own right. Sort your app out! Waste of time downloading - just use the web address..Version: 1.4.6

Why is TL-PA7017 not supported?Might be a great app, if it supported more recent Tp-link powerline extenders..Version: 1.3.7

Wish zero stars was an optionDoesn’t work. Useless and poor design, no diagnostics or help. Just doesn’t work. Mac one does just about - Shame though it’s not via Mac store. Really very disappointing. Same as upgrade fail. Realised it’s because already at latest version - as no firmware updates since first release. Really? Not a single bug or improvement in you firmware?.Version: 1.3.7

AwfulThey need to update this app or include the functionality in Tether. There are no permissions to access the network so this app won’t work..Version: 1.3.7

Does the limited job intendedIt does a reasonable, if uninspiring job of setting up TP-Link powerline units. It does need to refresh quite often and doesn’t respect portrait/landscape changes but overall, it works..Version: 1.4.6

AwfulWell I’ve set switches and hubs up for years at work, no expert but plenty of experience with networks. Spent a day setting 5 of these up, 2 with WiFi to extend the house range. After sorting the sync order, all worked great. The day after everything stopped working and couldn’t see any devices. Re set the whole lot again and everything’s great. Today, I unplugged the lead item that plugs Into the WiFi hub, this has happened twice since btw - and plugged it back in again (tidying cables) and now nothing - no tp showing in the app. I’ll probably have to re set it all again. Awful awful experience - get it sorted tp!!.Version: 1.2.30

Utter cr*pGot 4 of these to replace old Devolo power line plug ins. Like other reviewers, at first all went well, but then after updating the firmware on three plugins , the drop outs have been constant. Re starting the unit will usually get it working again but that is hardly the point! Oh, and you can’t even find the correct firmware for the mater u it that plugs into the router. TP LINK don’t even list it under the model name on their support website. Don’t bother and get a Mesh system.Version: 1.3.1

Needs an updatePlease make more devices compatibile..Version: 1.1.1

What's the point?!All you can do is see the devices, name them, and see connection speed between them. Ooh, and turn the lights off and on. You can't set QoS like with the Windows app, which is only marginally better because of that feature. The names dont even translate from this app top the windows app.Version: 1.2.23

TL WPA4220 KIT (probably V1)This app will not connect anyone have any idea when more versions are going to come online?.Version: 1.3.1

Impossible to provide permission it requiresAs the app requires permission to connect to iOS 14 devices (the vast majority now), it clearly tells you at launch you need to allow this permission. However, the app itself doesn’t even show up in the settings app (that itself is a worry), let alone provide the required system-level option to grant the permission needed. As this basic necessity is missing, the rest of the app cannot be accessed. This renders the whole process impossible to move forward. Useless app, stops using the devices with any degree of ease as it is an essential part of the configuration process to fully benefit from the purchased product..Version: 1.3.7

ClunkyIt works but it’s awkward and slow to use. It rescans every time you go back to the main screen, so looking at another device is too slow..Version: 1.4.0

HorribleThis app is useless much like the hardware. Just burn your money it’d be more satisfying than owning a TP-Link product..Version: 1.4.1

No option to disable DHCPDoesn't give you the ability to manually disable the DHCP server, so the wifi extender causes havoc on a network which already has a DHCP server.Version: 1.2.30

Ok but needs reboot oftenThe wired connections & WiFi extender work ok - setup was fairly simple. Every few days the device downstairs for my PlusNet TV just goes down. A simple switch off switch on fixes it but I have to move my mahoosive tv which is an utter pain. This app doesn’t recognise my devices when this happens so is pretty useless!.Version: 1.3.4

Need to reset to many timesSet up was fine - although I found I could not clone my WiFi name as it seemed to cause problems When it works it’s great but find I have to turn the units off and on regularly.Version: 1.3.1

UselessI just purchased a TL-PA7017 kit and this app doesn’t even work with my PowerLine Ethernet adapter. If I could leave zero stars I would. Waste of time installing!.Version: 1.3.7

The app is uselessUsing this with the Av600 powerline kit. Terrible. The only real function of this is to turn the LEDs off and on again. Which in my opinion is completely useless because the LEDs are indicators of if its working. Needs way better uses. Cant even see internet speed..Version: 1.4.5

Ridiculously uselessA brands reputation rests on its ability to do what it says it can. I’d get rid of your software app developers and bring in a new team that value your brand name!!! I’d put a 0-stars if I could but you can’t write a review without at least one. I suppose they got that right..Version: 1.3.7

Great devices, but value of app unclearThe TP-link powerline extender devices seem very good, but it’s not yet clear how this app helps. Initially I couldn’t get this app to work with my TP-link devices at all. The devices themselves, including the wi-fi powerline extender, all seem to work very well, but this app couldn’t see them. It just said “No device found. Please connect to the wi-fi network of a compatible powerline extender...” ...but I’d already done that... Update: tried switching off my wi-fi extender and switching on again. Now the app shows it and the powerline network devices. However, I’ve not yet been able to find anything the app itself can do particularly useful..Version: 1.3.7

Needs WorkThe local pc app works better. Could be good if it detected all adapters..Version: 1.2.4

Fails to recognize devicesMost of the time it doesn't recognize TP devices, even when they are close by. Occasionally it will see them, but it is very unpredictable..Version: 1.2.23

Newer devices not supportedCompletely useless as newer devices are not supported by the application. Will have to uninstall this junk..Version: 1.3.7

Junk App!If you're here it means you've already bought the hardware - consider returning for another product that has a working software package. This junk App doesn't have the all models and isn't certified for MacOS. The hardware works well enough though it's very difficult to do any management via the App(s) - you need to apply workaorunds to get in and manage the hardware via the software..Version: 1.4.1

Unusable.Step 1: Grant the app permissions in Settings. Step 2: Go mad wondering where on earth in the settings the permissions are managed. Step 3: Realise it’s a clearly untested app that needs fixed pronto. Step 4: Leave a scathing review on the App Store in the vain hope that the developers might bother to make it useable..Version: 1.3.7

Doesn’t show network - Meanwhile desktop version worksThe app, connected to the same Wi-Fi network, doesn’t show the power line devices at all. Meanwhile my Mac laptop running the TPLink PLC utility from the same manufacturer works fine..Version: 1.3.1

Wow, worst app everCan’t believe this app actually asks you to rate it. The screen shots look as if the app might actually contribute something to setting up your powerline and wireless network. At the moment, nothing could be further from the truth. Why haven’t Tp link reacted to the same comments for over a year ?.Version: 1.3.12

Doesn’t work iOS 15.7My old iPad Air 1st edition battery died running last update iOS 12, not bad 9 years old. This app used to work on that although a bit hit and miss. I bought a new iPad 9th generation and really like it. All other apps have downloaded and work fine. This app downloads and then when opened asks to access local network. Click on settings and although the tpPLC app is on my Home Screen, even a search in settings reveals no sign of the app. Very confusing !! And therefore unusable..Version: 1.4.1

Doesn’t workCan’t see any of my tp-link powerline devices. Please fix.Version: 1.2.30

Out of dateDoesn’t support TL-PA9020. A mobile app would be extremely useful for testing a link while trying to optimize the powerline configuration. Too bad this app doesn’t support current units..Version: 1.3.7

Useless for current modelsPlease update app for current models..Version: 1.3.7
