✓ My new favourite looper!This is the first that checks all of the boxes I’ve been looking for in a looper since the beginning of iOS. And most importantly to me is that it’s Auv3. My search for a looper is done. Thanks! Edit: I forgot in my initial review to speak to the pricing model. YES! This I hope becomes the standard. Subscriptions are a no-go for me. There too many subscriptions trying to vampire my bank account and it’s too hard to keep track. This model is perfect. ✓ Loopy just got even better! Loop Pro is unbelievable!!I’ve been using apps from this developer for close to a decade… and just when I thought things couldn’t get better… things did! This app goes from simple looping with beat boxing (you can edit/trim/pitch correct/ time correct the audio on the fly from within the loop) and even retrospectively record after you get something right… right up to grouping loops and having follow actions between groups, loops and even colour groups - another simple but powerful idea for treating bunches of things the same… and a sequencing page that DAW users will fall in love with… and it is compatible with Audio Units, giving us no end of flexibility (it can be an audio unit in another host - or it can be the host). And for Musos… Loopy Pro’s MIDI learnability (does such a word exist?!) and the power of its saveable MIDI bindings means hands free control is right at our fingertips, er… I mean at the tip of our toes! For me, Loop Pro is the spinal cord that brings all the other iOS music Apps to life and makes them easier to use!! By the way: this developer is one of the most engaged, active developers of iOS music apps I’ve come across. If people find a problem with his Apps… there’s always a solution coming… even if he has to badger other developers, even Apple, to fix things that are out of his control. ✓ Fantastic core/DAW app to centre your workflow aroundI bought this app a year ago and didn’t really use it as bought too many apps at that time. ✓ BrilliantThis is not a subscription. You own the software once you buy it, period. The subsequent annual payments are just paying for feature releases. If you don't want that, no obligation. Use it as is forever. A subscription wouldn't allow that. You still get fixes for OS updates, too. If you want a product that improves over time, invest in it. If you don't see the value in that or it already does everything you need, then don't pay the measly ~$20/year and you still get to keep using the software. As for the person who left a bad review because they misunderstood this payment model, I counter that "greed" also applies to the consumer who thinks a developer owes them eternal time and effort for extra features with no additional compensation. ✓ Love it!I’m syncing loopy pro with my Roland mc-707 and the two are a perfect match! The mc-707 lacks enough ram for long audio clips and loopy is the answer! They are synced perfectly right now! I can record synth tracks straight into loopy from the 707 and free up tracks on the 707! I can’t wait for loopy to have midi loops! Must have if you own hardware gear! ✓ Flat out amazing!I've been using Loopy Pro for livestreaming since it came out and it's been capable and rock solid for all that time. The flexibility offered by its configuration options means that someone like me can easily set it up to let me harmonise with myself in folk song choruses, while beatboxers like Inkie can use it to replace an MC-505 and more. If you have some dream looper configuration in mind, then Loopy Pro will let you build it. I'm lucky enough to be a beta tester, so I've been using the 1.1 features for a while and the experience has been amazing. I've barely begun to stretch the new features, but those I have used are glorious. The feedback control in particular has meant I can sing everything in my repertoire without leaving Loopy Pro. Michael, the developer, is always responsive and friendly and the community of users on his Discord are a great bunch too. ✓ State of the Art LooperThis has been built as everything and the kitchen sink for Beatboxers. But I spent an entire day trying to see how I could use it as a backup to my singing and guitar playing. I must admit that initially it left me a bit frustrated. ✓ Great WorkflowMan. This app surprised me. I was originally looking just for an app to have good routing between various iOS apps and maybe record some guitar loops here and there. I quickly found the workflow super intuitive. I could layer stuff as fast as I could think of ideas. Being able to then sequence them on a timeline was even better. I was able to sync up my MC707 groovebox with it and now I get all the good tones of the 707, along with guitar or vocals through the 707 into my iPad and can do the fun arranging and experimenting in Loopy Pro. Once I have polished ideas, I can export stems to Zenbeats or Reaper and finish mixing and mastering there. I mainly needed the fast arranging piece that was missing on the 707 and in DAWs, and this seems to be the app. Well worth the $$ and the developer did a great job with UI. Being a former developer myself with an eye for UI, I can greatly appreciate that part of the experience. I'm sure I haven’t scratched the surface at all it can do either..Version: 1.1.6

✓ Loopy opinionI am technologically illegitimate ☺️…and I wish I could comprehend all the things this app is capable of…. I am trying to use this app as a writing tool rather than a live looper perse… if I were to use it live I would use it with some pre recorded chord changes (as in more like backing tracks) I could perform over rather than a single chord or progression looped infinitely…. I think it’s hard to do a whole show of looping and keep people interested(at least from my experience)…. The quality of sound in loopy pro is phenomenal to me and with the apps available these days it’s almost overwhelming…. I continually have to strip things back down to guitar /vocal to write with or I start going around in circles😉….. ✓ Is this too much?This looper is really big and can do so much, perhaps even too much. Certainly much more than I need. I would like to suggest that the empty space in the centre circles be used to give a better indication of what mode we are in. For instance, Red in the centre circle while recording, Green for playback, and Orange for overdubs, rather than just relying on the wave forms. ✓ 😍 this is a paradigm shift for iOSIt’s a looper, a clip launcher, an AU host. It’s basically a DAW since you can record to a timeline and I guess it’s getting MIDI soon too. Have been using Ableton since v2, long before it had MIDI and this on the same level of special. It’s reminiscent of Ableton, but you can change the interface elements and touch them. It’s very deep and the dev has put A LOT of thought into so many details of the interface. Truly impressive 👌. Still early days and I have a feeling when more templates come out many MANY minds will be blown. Also, I hate subscriptions, and this is not one. ✓ The best for looping, not editing.Loopy Pro can be simple or complex covering a wide variety of needs. It’s among the best most versatile options for recording in stand-alone mode, or as an AU3. It is very useful to be able to precisely preset a loop length and set audio threshold, meaning input will be recorded only when a sound is detected and to the exact required length. New features are regularly added and bugs squashed. The developer is also easy to contact and very helpful. The one serious downer for those who, like me, are looking for a DAW replacement is the continued absence of full editable audio tracks. That feature remains on the roadmap, but is presently a long way down the road. That said, the app is already a wonderful product for IOS musicians and sonic dabblers alike. ✓ The Best Experimental & Live Platform for Music yet (for me at least)I’ve been working for quite sometime with AUM trying to build my perfect workflow for Jamming / Creating / Producing and then Live performing - This is it Yes it’s currently missing some features and has quirks, but man is it powerful, flexible and super customisable - and FUN I haven’t come across any problems I haven’t been able to solve with either custom action or a 3rd party App. Looking forward to having inbuilt Midi looping functionality, but dummy clips launching Helium / Atom or other sequencer works fine once setup. ✓ One of the best music making apps on iOSThe functions this app has are phenomenal. It can be just a looper, but it hosts AUv3 plugins allowing you to setup a “virtual” studio with audio and midi routing the way you want to work. The controllers you can setup are flexible, dynamic in functioning. You can have multiple audio routings that are switchable at the push of a button. It has an arranger mode for laying out your track but also… it’s live performance capabilities are almost insane. Its easy enough to get going/learn the basics, but I expect most people won’t use half of its features but they’re there if you want, and I’ve not mentioned 95% of them. there’s a manual online and the developer Michael is keenly active, listening and advising on the apps Facebook page. ✓ Cannot say enough good things about this app!!!As a professional performer that specializes in loop-based performance. I’ve used almost there, from hardware pedal loopers by boss, digitech, EH, headrush, and TC electronic to complex midi setups with Ableton and the Mac. Loopy pro is as more powerful than all of hardware pedals, it’s not even close. And it outdoes ableton for one HUGE reason: Customization! Ableton is it’s own thing, and while it’s very good, it is not designed with looping as the focus point. Whereas every feature and design point of loopy pro is geared towards the workflow of either performance or composition. It’s really astounding what this app is capable of. As someone who performs with sample based percussion, vocals, guitar and keys, I can set up sessions with fully customizable templates on a song by song basis, complete with widgets that be assigned to about anything you can think of. It really can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. On top of that, the community is fantastic and the lead developer is always listening and engaging with it. ✓ Amazing looper!Great looper with great response time from the developer when having problems. The best part for me is sequenced looping! I quickly and easily set up a multi part song that starts with a drum beat and follows with two guitar parts. I set it up to do auto beat detection so I just play the drum part, and play the guitar parts at the correct times, based on the defined sequence, and away we go. ✓ Wow!!!I have used loopy extensively and assumed that this would be a slightly better version, if you like a capacitive upgrade at higher quality/ volume thresholds, but instead it has quickly become my preferred platform for everything music composition related. The retrospective looping feature alone allows me to build up loops and sequences on the fly in a natural way, just building like an audio minecraft, but once iv’e got the basics fleshed out, I can develop and refine, and sequence and develop that idea into a fuller idea. I just to export my bits from loopy into Cubases/ ableton/ logic, now I’m refining in loopy pro. Everyday I’m finding new ways in which this clever application supports and allows me to adapt to its way of working, whilst at the same time allowing me to integtrate my old workflow into an environment of composition, which so far has no boundaries. ✓ Amazing live performance appI’m new to live looping and have tried a few different setups but Loopy Pro has been the best by far. It can be as simple or as complicated as you want. If you just want to hop in and record some audio, you can just load it up and the default project is perfect to get started. From there, you can quickly add interface elements if there’s something specific you want to be able to do for whatever music you’re currently playing. More importantly, everything is fast. Most things you’d want to do in the moment, you can do immediately using gestures. You can turn down the volume on an individual clip just by spinning your finger around it. It even helps with small interface elements in clever ways to quickly and temporarily make them larger. If you want to jump down the rabbit hole, the interface is incredibly customizable with a large number of actions that you can map directly to controls or gestures on those controls. The color groups are an amazingly intuitive way to deal with shared behavior. All of the I/O you’d want out of an iOS music app is there. It has its own arranger. I could go on. It also has a free trial, so if it looks good, try it out. Just make sure you actually set aside some time to really try to make music with it. I toyed around with it a bit an then put off buying it for a while, but once I hooked it up to my hardware rig and starting using it for real, I quickly fell in love..Version: 1.0.37

This is a performance tool for playing live. This is a sampler. This is a customizable audio and midi router. The donut layout can be off putting to some. It’s just the waveform on a clock face. Many are put off by the pricing plan. You pay for the app and you have it forever. After a year, you don’t have to purchase again. It’s not a subscription. If after a year and half or two years, they add features that you must have, then it will be worth paying again for year. Or don’t, the bug fixes and IOS compatibility update will still be free. After much use though I found myself having to start to create work-arounds to get more flexibility out of my hardware to keep up with ideas that started to develop in my mind over this time. ✓ Powerful but (perhaps) overly complexI’m a huge fan of Loopy HD i generally build all my tracks with it at some point so i was pretty psyched when Loopy Pro came out and i bought it as soon as i could. Personally i find it overly complex, not as direct as Loopy HD, it takes me awhile to build my loops and they generally end up a mess and essentially unusable by the time i’m thru. obviously this is just me, i’m sure other people can use it with great accuracy, i just find it cluttered and difficult to work with. i wish the developer had used the same format as HD and simply added the ability to link the loops to outside apps etc. Instead there’s too many controls, too much to go wrong and, in my case, it generally does. Nevertheless im still experimenting with it, maybe at some point it’ll click and i’ll be able to produce something viable with it. ✓ Seriously Great App. Interface is AmazingI’m a guitarist and generally new to looping. This app is amazing and quite intuitive. I use it both with digital amp applications (ie. Tonex, Bias FX, etc) on my iPad and also effectively as an in-line looper pedal hooked up to my Fender tube amp (fyi if you’re trying to do this you’ll need an audio interface with some sort of “amp out” feature and place it between your guitar/effects pedals and the amp). Loopy Pro is (for me) the next step on this journey. As it is an environment that can practically replace anything (depending on your musical approach) as an environment for creating music on the iPad. Provided, that you are into loops! ✓ Game changer app on ipad! But… buggyThis is my favorite app now for writing music on the iPad. It’s very similar to having Ableton Live on iPadOS. Workflow is excellent and you can turn the program into almost anything with it’s customization. That said, there are a fair amount of bugs to be ironed out yet. Using the program I discovered a few that were disappointing, such as the ability to change midi controller profiles on the fly and I also had an issue with selecting your last tapped clipped. ✓ Canceled my 505Ordered an RC505MKII months ago. Back ordered everywhere, but I could wait a few weeks, no problem. Got notified they’re looking at a 3-4 month setback. Bummer. Later that week I was reminded of the Loopy upgrade from a post on Reddit. Realized I had everything already set up to utilize my iPad in my otherwise hardware setup. A few videos later I saw this was not the LoopyHD I knew with some bells and whistles, but much more. Between looping korg gadget instruments and the moog model D app running thru different fx apps, and recording live drums and layering hardware synths and guitars, loopy pro has so far filled the gap in my setup and then some. I’m hoping to utilize midi out to sequence hardware and launch sections on the fly. That’s the next trial run. The sequencer section lets me sit at the drums and jam with myself with much more variety than my hardware alone can allow. I’ve barely scratched the surface and I’ve already surpassed the capabilities of the 505. The number of loops alone makes it a no brainer. Also, very pleased with the purchase method. ✓ The mothership has arrivedThis is what I’ve been looking for in my journey of iOS music software as a hub for live clip launching and looping. Although there are features to use as a full DAW (that I’ve not yet explored), the possibilities for live set up, looping, clip manipulation are endless. Especially since it integrates AUV3s so well. This is as close (and in some ways better) as you will get to ableton live for the iOS. This software, although simple and colorful in appearance is very deep. So beware, it will take some time to figure out how to customize and learn your way around this. It’s easy to get lost in the weeds and frustrated. I almost considered a 4 star review as I’m learning (and sometimes getting lost) on all the functions, but this is still just head and shoulders above any clip launcher or looping software that’s on the iOS. You also have a very responsive support network for troubleshooting and a developer that is responsive and committed to continue to make this even more awesome. I am certain this will keep getting better and better. I feel like I can change the world with this app. Being able to configure the interface how I like really helps me to visualise my workflow. I control my guitar loops with a MIDI footswitch and my synth ones with my finger on the iPad. I use auv3 effects pre- and post- loop and have actions to mute my mic input when I record guitar etc to reduce noise. You can get instant results with this thing but I’ve discovered that with a bit of careful planning, you can build the dream looping setup you’ve always dreamed about… and the one you never knew you needed in the first place! I’ve been messing around in the settings for a bit, connected it to the interface I use on my PC on a daily basis. It was seamless - immediately ready to take these inputs. I’ve spent a ton of time building my own looper in ableton, routing my instruments to specific channels in my loop so that certain instruments can be played while recording vocals and not loop in one clip, but loop both in another clip. I thought this whole time Loopy Pro was the same app I bought years ago… oh how I’ve been sleeping.. I’ve tried so many looping systems Rc505, Ableton, Rc600, MainStage, Logic, Quantiloop app (also very good) but nothing compares to the scope of this app. Michael (who regularly contributes to the Facebook forum) has to be among the most talented and dedicated software engineers on the planet. This app is ever evolving, very stable and also has modular building capabilities so you can design your perfect GUI! This app goes well beyond its brief and does it really well. It’s a Looper, Mixer, Plug-in host, midi control surface/designer, and can be made into an instrument of your design. I had an RC600, one of the most expensive/established brand looper on the market and it is so disappointing… my unit would crash every hour or so of use requiring a reboot. Support is useless, there is no customer interaction/beta/feature-requests and it’s been nearly a year since their last firmware update. ✓ So far it’s amazing!I actually can’t believe this app is as good as it is! i was very hesitant to pay $40 for an app but i tried the demo and it exceeded my expectations! i’m using an ipad air 5th gen and running this through my rme ufx interface with 6 inputs and 7 outputs and haven’t had any hiccups yet that weren’t my own fault! i bought the turnado auv3 effects and have a couple instances on buses with sends from 4 of my inputs and my ipad cpu meter is only showing 2-4%! i’m used to running ableton on my 2015 macbook i7 and having higher cpu numbers than that, so i’m extremely happy with the performance! I’ve used this at two 4-hour gigs now and haven’t had any issues once i figured out how to set it up. Time will tell, but i’m optimistic that many of the bugs are already worked out..Version: 1.1.17

Fantastic, fun, deep, and just one he// of a great app. The developer is a wonderful guy who has made a perfect companion app to the original Loopy. I have a Boss RC-505 and I rarely use it. I still use this app and the original Loopy at 90% of any live gigs I do. I just really dig the workflow of both apps. Also, this app is NOT subscription based. You can get a cheaper yearly subscription if you don’t want to spend a few more dollars but it isn’t one of those ‘money grab’ subscription apps. That is awesome. Yes-you have to dish out a bit more money up front but it is way cheaper than most of Korg’s apps and this is not a big corporation. This is a sole developer. If you have a question and send him an email-he will always respond. That is just one more thing that makes this app special. This and Loopy are hands down the best loopers for iOS..Version: 1.0.39
✓ A magnificent app on a crippled platformThis app is elegant in design and function, and deserves all the praise it is getting. Really well though out with a mild learning curve to learn all the tools available. Powerful. However ios offers very limited connectivity with external hardware without investing in several peripherals for wired headphones, instruments, midi, charging, and additional ports. Apple continues to cripple audio connectivity on newer devices, so I feel like the ios platform doesn’t deserve this app. I hope Apple appreciates developers making their app store great with innovations like this app. You can get some great results from just the internal mic and au plugins, but you will probably need an adapter for wired headphones because bluetooth latency is an issue with real time audio. I encourage Michael to branch out to other platforms that offer better audio connectivity to realize loopy’s full potential, because the design sensibilities here are top notch. If this interface was on a touchscreen hardware device with real audio connectivity it would blow away the entire Boss product lineup..Version: 1.0.12

I’ve tried for thirty years now. I get to a point were I learn how to play a new instrument but never master anything the talent just isn’t there. With Loopy Pro I can take 5 or 6 instruments that sound okay and tweak and rearrange correct pitch, speed and tempo add FX bus sounds together. And create my own on screen controls quickly and intuitively then assign actions to those controls to control just about anything you can think of. Or map midi instruments and actions to your own controllers. I’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars on music software over the years and never had more fun or been able to create anything so quickly and easily before. ✓ Return To Loopy-nessI have been using an earlier version of Loopy for a while & then I got a great deal on a Boomerang III. So, I have spent some time getting my head around the Boomerang & I wanted to see how integrating Loopy with the pedal would work. Then I saw this version had come out, saw the new features & bought it the same day. I am running 2 projects now, maxing out my RAM & the difference is amazing. On the one hand, being able to do things in this version is so much quicker & easier. Some of the features are still a challenge but I’ve only had it for a few days. Once I got accustomed to the obvious features, like REPEAT/ONE SHOT & such it’s a massive upgrade from the previous version. Assigning colors also is very helpful: ORANGE = perc/drums YELLOW = repeat Loops RED SQUARE = one shots BLUE = outro loops This makes keeping track easier & of course, naming the audio helps keep track of what the audio is for. ✓ A genius work of art!Best looper ever! The only thing I’m wishing for, is the option to chose Apps in the mixer inputs as well as Audio Units. I have an old iPad (Air 1st gen) and I can’t use many instances of Loopy Pro in Audiobus in order to run let’s say four apps. I’m running IBassist, Rock Drum Machine, SampleTank, and a live nylon guitar. It’d be awesome if I can free loop on the fly these 4 inputs for some impromptu solos. The thing is that those 3 apps don’t show in Loopy Pro (obviously) and I’d have to run everything through Audiobus with four instances (at least 3) of Loopy Pro. Am I doing something wrong? Or I just need to upgrade my iPad? I would greatly appreciate any feedback. God bless you Michael, you are a genius.
