Amazon Halo for Positive User Reviews

New & Easy to useI received my Halo about a month ago. I find it similar to other devices I have such as FitBit and Apple. Halo has elements that are similar to the other devices, counts steps, sleep activity, exercise programs. What is has that is unique and that I really enjoy is the Activity app. It records any activity I do without me having to add it or I can add one if I want to. The body scan. Helped get me more motivated to move. It was easy to use and set up. I like the exercise videos better than the others I’ve used. I would like to see a wake up alarm added or link to my apple phone to vibrate if I get a text or call. It has a voice app that you can choose to monitor tone of speech but after trying it. Doesn’t appeal to me. I would like to be able to remove apps I don’t use from main screen. Overall I am very satisfied with the Halo..Version: 1.0.23.1

Feature Rich w a Few DrawbacksFirst this is more than a band. More than an app. It's a focus on your overall health. Labs from super qualified groups including Orange Theory. Lots of great advice. For me anger management is a key and it's got at least three areas where it helps w this. Voice tone. Sleep. Stress and meditation. It has so many labs you will never use them all (at least for a really long time). But they are there. A whole library of activities and guides for you. Have an area you want to improve... It's there. It has a fat measurement feature using AI that I believe is as good as a Dexascan from what I have read so far. So it's great. Why only 4 stars? It misses some steps that my fitbit doesn't. And yes I've tracked the FB against Garmin and made sure. Second the battery is only good for 1 -2 days (less than a day more recently). It's activity score is nonsensical. I walked 16K steps yesterday. It registered almost none of them and I have an activity score of zero. Yikes In gen 2 these will be fixed I am sure. Maybe they will connect to your insurance Co and help get you reduced rates too..Version: 1.0.26.0

I was looking for a Stress indicating deviceI was looking for a device which can help with tracking sleep and overall stress throughout the day. This device is on the right track with all the measurements it’s tracking. While I am unable to see my body temperature yet, the sleep indicator has been accurate and the temperature will only make it better. I have left the tone detection feature on for more often collection and would like to see the app show me the conversations that it used to make those detections, and allow me to suggest what it got wrong for better learning. The labs are also very good, typically personalized short audios about certain topics. I have been looking at the communication articles and have been trying the exercises. Overall this is one the few trackers which does not focus only on movement and adds stress detection. I would like more enhancements on the stress detection features which this already has such as ability to detect power naps or more detailed sleep quality info, and using tone detection along with heart rate and temperature to suggest a stress score at certain points during the day..Version: 1.0.18.0

Haloband with IPadI got Haloband during the Invitation period. I like innovative products. I don’t have an IPhone — only IPad. I was delighted that the set-up was easy with IPad. For last 4 weeks I used only the Fitness and Sleep. They worked well with IPad. Finally, I got the courage to try body mass with IPad. To my surprise, the instructions to position the body was very clear. And the IPad camera worked with Halo Software! I am over 80 years usually a regular gym person. But not during COVID. I am underweight for my height but the still the body mass showed I had too much body fat. I agree with the results of HALOBAND. IMO HALOBAND is a fun tool to use. I was an early user of first version of FITBIT and prior to that used POLAR for over 20 years..Version: 1.0.26.0

Good app, but not all activity is ‘exercise’I find this is a total wellness and health app and tracker. The activity tracker is the most accurate I’ve had, which recognizes not just the physical shifting of the devise, but increased heart rate as well. I still have issues with it recognizing I’m doing something if I’m pushing a cart or carrying something stationary in my band arm, but that’s less of an issue than with most trackers. The app also doesn’t allow for marking activities as a daily living activity. I find my most intense activity is often during family chores and necessities. I should be able to mark them as ‘chores,’ ‘morning prep’ or preferably something of my choice rather than other or stairs. If I do, then I can see my progress of improvement even on days I don’t make specific workouts a priority due to time constraints. Also, the ability to track cycles, lunar, hormonal, or even mood cycles, would make this much more complete for tracking total health. Update: with iOS 15 updates I can’t see beyond my basic data! I’ve updated and the data graphs and content are not visible. It’s tweaked off to the side like I need to scroll sideways..Version: 1.2.18.0

I love itI got this to help motivate me to be more active and for the info it tracks a provides on sleep as well. Seeing how lazy I really am is an eye opener and does make me want to do more. I did the body scan once so far, that was depressing but also a motivator, it’s different than looking in the mirror. You see what you look like to others and it tells you your body fat ratio. I really like the sleep tracking aspect. I see how long I slept, my sleep cycle durations, and body temp averages. There are also helpful activities you can accept and work on throughout your week. There are all kinds like yoga, workouts, average sleep times, meditations, etc. They are either tracked automatically like the average sleep time or you use your phone to complete them like the workouts or meditations. Like I said I love this thing, the data I get it helpful. I still need to put more effort into fitness but I’ll get there. I bought the sport strap too, I’ve used it since day one and like it. No issues so far, haven't tried the speech analysis yet, not sure I want to know how I sound with my mood swings. I would recommend to others and buy again..Version: 1.0.23.1

Pretty good but room for improvementI like that it’s pretty small and light weight. The band it comes with is comfortable. The data is good, I’m not sure if it’s too new to know how accurate it actually is. It states I get roughly 3-4 hours of sleep per night, I can’t imagine that to be true, I go to sleep at 10pm and wake at 4:45, with occasional interruptions of going to the bathroom or cats waking me up. The data again seems pretty accurate but I’m not exactly sure how accurate. Improvements I think could be more detail of data, I can see they tried to make it user friendly but for those of us that want to see more of science behind how and why would be nice. I also think it would be good if they made this a watch, as I’m always looking at my wrist to expect to see the time..Version: 1.0.24.0

Mixed feelingsI like the band and the app, easy to use, keeps track of everything. However, like most automated systems it doesn’t make allowances for people with joint pain, a bout of illness, other conditions. It assumes you are fairly fit to begin with. I hurt my knee on one of the exercises and with bad joints I cannot always do the physical demands of 150 points per week. I just might go to *only* the step counter and work from there. I don’t have this problem but I do wonder how people with desk jobs who work a lot of overtime do it, especially with family at home. It’s a good idea and app, but it seems designed by young healthy people with no demands on their time. I’ve been ill the last 4 days and obviously the points I got the other three days will be gone. Not very motivating. I’d still recommend it for the young and healthy - but not for my senior friends who are (mostly) diabetics, overweight, and have rheumatoid and osteoarthritis..Version: 1.3.11.0

Great Improvement!I had the first iteration and sent it back because it didn’t do enough and wasn’t really a fully baked product. This one, however, is a n excellent product. It offers a lot for the money and does a good job in tracking my steps, heart rate and how well I sleep plus being a watch. It has other features that I haven’t used yet but all the them are ones that I will use. No bloat-ware here. Very easy to use phone app and battery life is very good. I top off the battery while I am showering each day. However, the battery will last several days without charging. The watch strap took some getting used to but it works well and I am glad that it is not leather so I can wipe it down when needed..Version: 1.2.26.0

Everything is great except nutrition!Totally worth the price the app is easy and so informative about so many elements. I especially like the body and movement sections. Sleep is analyzes in a very detailed manner too. And the activity tracker is inspiring. I love that the band wraps all the way around so there is nothing to break. However… the nutrition section leaves a ton to be desired, at least if you’re doing keto. I selected ketogenic friendly and just one meal a day hoping to encounter new recipes. It’s like they don’t even know what keto is! The first recipe has 40 carbs!! My DAILY max is 25. If I tried to “balance out” my macro stating with 40 carbs, the fat calories I would have to eat would blow me out of the water. I’d start gaining for sheer excess calories. Maybe it was a fluke? Nope, checked every single recipe for the week and had to smdelete every one. Decided to use Senza for nutrition, which is great for Keto tracking. Despite this one area of low quality who h may only apply to keto, the rest of the halo app is wonderful and I highly recommend it. Thus 4 stars!.Version: 1.3.12.0

I like it but could use improvementI love the sleep and activities part although it would be nice if it measured daytime naps too, and I’d love to see more details on the activities. Like how many calories I burned during a workout on the intense level. Or how much time did the intense level take, not just for the whole day but during a particular time. And how many calories did that burn. Would be nice to have a section on nutrition to enter and monitor nutrition intake and macros. Or have an ability to sync with MyFitnessPal so I can import the activity data there. The tone thing is useless. I was depressed today over a bird that died, so of course it wouldn’t pick that up because I was quiet. And other days I might yell at my computer out of frustration but that’s a healthy way of expressing it. It has nothing to do with my interactions with others..Version: 1.2.10.0

Halo band- pretty greatPositives: I am quite pleased with band. I find the sleep tracking very helpful as well as all the labs to help meet small goals. The body scan seems pretty accurate; it matches my body fat scale. The setup is really user friendly and motivating. And the workouts are top notch, if not a little hard to do off the phone. Could be better: I got the pink band, and its pretty much trashed after a couple of days. I wish it was silicone. Also, a watch really would be helpful and probably heart rate too for exercise. I don’t want to have to check my phone while exercising. If it had meal tracking, you wouldn't need any other health apps. But overall, two of my friends have gotten one, because I wouldn't stop talking about how good it is. It’s worth the money and the subscription for what you get..Version: 1.0.20.0

ObsessedOk, I didn’t want to get into this for a long time… I didn’t want to be “one of them” constantly stressed by being over connected…. but I finally got one and I’m obsessed. I absolutely love it. It is very helpful in jump starting and sustaining a healthy lifestyle. It tracks sleep, activity, calories burned and your heart. It has great tips on meals programs and workouts. It’s motivation on your wrist… get one and you won’t regret it. I’ll keep exploring, as I just got it a couple of days ago. It is a great tool to zone in and focus on one’s health without getting sidetracked for long… it’s on your wrist and it’ll probably stay there permanently once you get one..Version: 1.3.19.0

The BEST / Most AFFORDABLE Health assistant EVERThis is the BEST, most AFFORDABLE health solution available on the market. If you are serious about changing your approach to self care, personal health and overall well-being STOP READING and get the Halo View right now. It helps you find where you currently are at for a starting level and then suggests programs and exercise bits available via the app. Literally a one stop health shop. Fitness, meditation, sleep, recipes, mobility assessments. The whole sha bang!! I suggest you find a free / flexible macro nutrition app for tracking and tweaking your intake and then make the HALO jump. You won’t regret it! Make sure you take yoga with Elena. She is fabulous and is very helpful and supportive during her sessions!!!.Version: 1.2.25.0

Rating HaloFirst, I must say I have complete trust in the overall performance of my Halo. I’ve had it a month and have found several features very useful and important to my daily health regime. The set up was easy. The look very sleek and comfortable. Halo charges easily and let’s me know when my band needs to be charged. Second, I find myself checking my sleep patterns every morning. It’s like I get a sleep study every night and truly explains how I slept, how deeply and rates my overall quality in an easy to understand way. I understand if I’m tired midday or if I have extra energy . It helps me to balance my migraines with my sleep patterns. Lastly, there are two other features I love and it’s the body scan and exercise analyzers. Wow, it’s my own private weight clinic. It analyzes my weight vs body fat and gives me not only a physical view but detailed record in the palm of my hand. It Literally Scans my body and displays my progress through my Halo app on my cell phone. Having a visual understanding of my workouts is motivating and yet, gives me a kick in the pants to work harder. I can sync it to my Weight Watchers App. and share workout information. There are several other features I haven’t mentioned: voice analysis, helpful exercise tips, heart rate and more. Get Halo, if your serious about how your own health. I truly find it a modern way to take charge and have information at my fingertips. You won’t be disappointed!.Version: 1.0.23.1

It's good but fitbit is betterI like the halo. Nice that it doesn't have a screen, syncs to your phone when you need to look at data, and is comfortable. But, my old fitbit was just better. Especially for tracking sleep. The halo only takes between 10pm and 6am because that's what I told it to do. If I wake up in the middle of the night, it doesn't always track the awake time and if I take a nap in the middle of the day. It doesn't track. Example..I didn't sleep well the other night and I woke up at 1:30am. The 20 min I was awake wasn't tracked. I woke up at 5am and played on my phone for an hour, halo tracked that as me sleeping. I finally went back to sleep at 6am and slept for 2.5 hours, but since that was outside my sleep time, it doesn't show on my tracker. Battery, heart rate, and activity is also better or same on fitbit and fitbit is better in the water since they don't have a fabric band. More expensive, but Fitbit is still the standard..Version: 1.3.22.0

Fabulous!I’ve had my halo band for 2 weeks. It was simple to setup with sleek packaging and instructions, very Apple-like. There are more features that I am actually using than I expected. If you like getting credit for and tracking your activities this may be for you. I’ve exercised daily for a long time but the way it tracks intensity has made a difference to how hard I work during my workouts. I love the sleep tracker and how it shows sleep patterns and the body scan for body fat. I plan to try out some of the meditation sessions and like the different health suggestions like trying partial fasting. I also like that it tracks my resting heartrate. I haven’t quite figured out the tone tracker, I think I inadvertently turned it off. I have not used another fitness tracker for comparison but have already recommended this to friends. Having something on my wrist is not great but its pretty small and light. So far, this has been fun! If you are concerned about your health data there is a lot that is captured, that might be a drawback which is discussed/addressed at setup..Version: 1.0.24.0

Love the device, like the app & hate lack of integrationI’ve had the original ‘no screen’ Halo and it’s become a big part of my fitness & health lifestyle. The Halo app has made solid improvements over the past year but I feel it is not achieving its potential at all when compared to other wearables & what could be done with the sensors and data it collects. A big piece of that is how this is effectively a closed end device & service with no serious integration with other health tracking services. In my case a basic integration with Apple Health would enable my work’s insurance health app Virgin Pulse (for insurance discounts) to get basic data like my step count. The Halo app/service also doesn’t support direct integration with the vast majority of the common services on the market. I’m really hoping that will change soon as I love the device otherwise!.Version: 1.2.22.0

I love this band!I love the way it gives you points according to intensity of your workout. So it rates the quality of your workout as well as how much you move. The only thing I wish it could recognize is weight training. It doesn’t seem to measure as intense during weight training. I also wish I could have it connected to my iHealth app. So that it could pick up and use the data that I am weight training. I really love the sleep quality tracking. It measures 4 different levels.... not only does it track light, deep, & awake.... but it also measures REM sleep. However, it doesn’t pick up naps. I wish it would pick up naps. So the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that I can’t link any of my iPhone exercise apps or health app to this one and it doesn’t pick up naps. Otherwise, I really love the halo band and app..Version: 1.2.5.1

Good app but 2 issuesSo far I like my Halo. The app is easy to use and understand. It has a lot of good data that is well organized. I am use to wearing a Fitbit. I like the way the halo app works better. It has labs to help you improve things like sleep and exercise . The body scan is amazing. I am use to looking at myself in the mirror, looking at my scan and reading the analysis is both an eye opener and a motivator. I haven’t used the tone feature yet. I have two issues: (1) sleep. In the evening if I sit down to watch TV or read, It often decides I’m asleep. That messes up the whole sleep analysis making the info useless. When it does record my sleep times correctly, I find the information useful and it seems to be accurate based on how I feel. (2). Steps. These are way off. I know it is using some standard metric but I am a 73 year old woman and apparently don’t fall into that metric. I have counted my steps while walking and find that for 10 actual steps the app is only recording 2-3. This is a big issue for me. I am trying to increase my activity and the count is just too far offered. It is also demotivating..Version: 1.0.24.0

When it works I love itWhen I first got this, I was really excited. I still am. For the first couple weeks of having it the app worked fine. Now it crashes constantly, especially for the body scan, it tells me it’s not connected, and has problems syncing. I really like the band, and I find myself becoming more active by wearing and using it. It’s just that it can’t go for an hour without crashing, lagging or not syncing. But to be fair, I understand it’s an early access and there will be hiccups. Other than those issues it has become really fun and exciting to use in everyday life. I exercise more, I’m more conscious of how long and often I laze around, etc..Version: 1.0.24.0
