Half dating app half social media, both kinda badThe problem with this platform is that it tries being both a dating app and a social media platform and sadly it does neither of those things well. You can only swipe through a certain amount of people before being told you have to pay money, that’s right, not a limit on how many people you may like but how many you can swipe through. This feels very scummy and further reinforces that they just want your money. The social media side of things is filled with fake people posting superficial content to improve their follower count and likes which is hilarious considering the app denounces other apps for being beauty and popularity contests. Overall this app would be a lot better if they simply focused on one thing rather than creating a bloated over complicated mess. Give it a miss..Version: 1.13.24

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴The app shows all the signs of being a fantastic app for genuine social interactions of all kinds. I've so far had two stints on this app, the first time I made a bunch of cyber pals whom I am still in contact with to this day, honest genuine folk . Here's the problem: There simply isn't enough incentive towards getting people out to travel & meet the friends they have made, there are people who just seem to post all the time simply looking for likes and nothing more, there are other apps which that can be done on, rather than an app which has been advertised as a means to meet new friends from around the world. (Which can also be done on other free apps) I'm not saying everyone has to meet every match, but there are certain types of matches I've made in the past who just want attention from me and refuse to answer the most basic of questions about themselves. As I understand, the goal of the app is connection; yet sadly most of the time all it offers is a watered-down superficial cyber-relationship akin to Instagram, snap chat, or Twitter. It has so many promising elements but I don't want the app to feel like a paid version of free apps that have been out for year's. Take a leaf out of Thursday and Bumbles book and start hosting events, Boo has the potential to be so much more genuine than any of those. I really have liked the app it's just constructive criticism where I feel the app could advance itself & not begin to stagnate..Version: 1.13.11

The bastion of the geeky/alt without higher educationMost dating apps draw an untenably large pool of users, leaving the individual user to swipe interminably, and with little to show for it. Boo, on the other hand, appears to have a corner on a bespoke demographic. Those who self-describe as: nerdy, geeky, alternative, fandom-ites, etc. comprise most of the profiles found on Boo (at least in my local area). Anticipating an inundation of other users, on this app that claims over 9 million downloads, I toggled some filters to narrow down the apses of ages, and to include users pursuing or possessing at least an undergraduate education. I reached the “No Souls Detected” page in under 20 minutes. It was disappointing after I had already committed to a subscription at a promotional rate for several months. The app also touts in advertisements that most dating apps are “beauty contests,” but Boo aspires to be different. This user (whose personal dearth of pulchritude notwithstanding) can confirm: Boo is not a beauty contest..Version: 1.13.14

Data Harvesting?I had tried deleting my profile twice and the data had been kept without my knowledge - this is misleading. I had to manually withdraw my pics and info on my profile as I seem to be still getting matches from other users. (I get email notifications). I do think it is unethical to mislead others to - thinking the person they’re matching is still an active user. I did speak to the customer support only to be under minded as if I was an idiot 🤦🏻‍♀️ thinking I was purposely a activating it… it’s a good app to begin with but you gotta double check and ensure their not harvesting your data and keeping it without telling you..Version: 1.12.6

Decent but missing some key functionalityOut of all the dating apps ive used, this is one of the better ones however its missing two key filters: - Distance: Theres no way from what I can see, to set how far you want to see profiles from. Just local or global. - Looking for: Despite their being a ‘looking for X’ bubble in a users profile, there is no filter for this..Version: 1.13.38

Baffling interface with a small subscriber baseBased on the advertisements, I would have expected much more from this app. The reality is quite disappointing, it is just another swipe fest with a different(and poorly designed) interface. No different than any of the others. Adding to my frustration, everything requires virtual money if you want to contact other users. I understand that companies need to make money, but one could easily go bankrupt sending messages out, when there is no guarantee that the recipient even has an active account, or whether they will respond favorably. this app in no way caters to the “real” you more than other dating sites. All they do is slap on the MBT rating and gauge your compatibility based on that, which is the same thing all of the other apps do. follow that with a painfully small subscriber base, and that you run out of swipes even if you are dismissing people. This is by far the worst dating app I have ever used..Version: 1.13.31

Everything good, but can't set a max distance.I love the fact that they use the zodiac signs, it’s a good touch. The people that I have matched with are pretty cool. But even when I have local on, I see people who are like 2.5 hours away, like I don’t know about you but that ain’t local. And then I saw someone who was and hour away. I’m someone who has to be like MAX 40 mins away, and 40 is pushing it in just being generous right now. There needs to be a way to be away to set max distance, and make it a dealbreaker, so not even when there is no one left, don’t show me people past that limit. Once you’s do that, five stars easily..Version: 1.13.37

Almost as bad as tinderLooks friendly and inviting at the beginning. Been using it for 6 months, even paid premium but now decided to delete. The problems : -most people I matched with had fake locations, most of them were from the Philippines, saying they live in London. - full of fake profiles. I keep reporting them but same people keep adding me , or same pictures with many different accounts and names. -plenty of profiles with no description or photos. Why is it allowed? -I feel like it’s more of a social media platform than dating app, plenty of people only seek followers to like their nonsense posts. They like you, you like them back but they never talk to you..Version: 1.13.37

Horrible execution, solid ideaI was excited for this app, but it’s terrible trying to get set up and figure out. The UX/UI is catastrophic, it’s not nearly as intuitive as your product team thinks it is. Gave up after 25 minutes of Trying to start a conversation with somebody within 3,000 miles of me..Version: 1.13.16

BooBoo, the dating app, presents an interface that is sleek and intuitive, facilitating seamless navigation and user interaction. Despite its aesthetic appeal, Boo falls short in delivering high-quality matches, often resulting in generic suggestions that lack depth and compatibility. The absence of stringent verification measures leaves the platform vulnerable to fake profiles and catfishing, eroding trust and authenticity within the user community. While Boo's messaging system functions adequately, it lacks innovative features and interactive elements, limiting users' ability to engage meaningfully with their matches. Subscription options and premium features are available, offering users greater control over their online dating experience, albeit at an additional cost. However, these perks may not justify the expense for users seeking more robust functionality and genuine connections. In summary, Boo presents itself as a promising contender in the online dating landscape but falls short of its potential due to deficiencies in matchmaking accuracy, profile authenticity, and interactive features. While suitable for casual encounters, individuals seeking meaningful relationships may find Boo lacking compared to more comprehensive alternatives. Ultimately, Boo's modest 3 out of 5 stars rating reflects its mixed performance and room for improvement in delivering fulfilling online dating experiences..Version: 1.13.35

More Bots Than Anywhere ElseI have been “liked” by more people promoting OnlyFans/other “services” here than any other app I’ve used combined. I get 4+ “likes” a day from people promoting their content. And no matter how many times you adjust your preferences such as search radius it always resets. I’ve set my search radius 15+ times now. It’s really annoying, I see someone I like, but oh no, they’re on the other side of the country. I’ve set my radius to within 25 miles so many times. The app it riddled with bugs and no different from any other dating app. I’d go as far to say this app is as bad as tinder. There are less bots and promoters on Bumble. BUMBLE! Save your time and try something else. But back to the preference issue. I tried their paid premium function for one week, all the problems I was having (except the bots) went away. It appears they purposefully bug the app for free users. Very disappointing. The number of notifications this app sends is also absurd. Questions of the day (which are pointless), 2-5 ads for premium, any time anyone looks at you regardless if they like you or not, as well as other junk are guaranteed. It’s ridiculous. I hope the developers take these criticisms well and improve their app, because the concept it phenomenal but the execution is terrible..Version: 1.13.40

Theoretically Good, Disappointing in PracticeI like the idea of a dating app that matches people based on personality type, shared interests, and such. But most of my potential matches are farther away than just across town. The algorithm paired me with somebody based on complimentary personality types… I never met him face to face, he was intimidating and brusque rather than engaging and friendly. He more or less said that his schedule precluded meeting face to face in the near future. I’m half convinced that he was a scammer. I have met somebody else who began inundating me about his financial activity and gave vague and sometimes contradictory information about himself, in addition to the exuberant flirting, and we hadn’t known each other for a week. I’m sure that he’s also a scammer. I don’t know whether it’s because it’s a relatively new app, but it’s been pretty disappointing for me, especially since I’m not in a position to travel halfway across the country just to meet a potential match..Version: 1.11.83

Developer ResponseHum… everyone who has left a review gets a generic response! Downloaded app, jumped through all the painstaking hoops. Unable to set radius, so most people shown are a gazillion miles away. Only a small amount of swipes, around 10 or so, unless you pay an extortionate fee, one being £200 for a lifetime… Really? what is the app developer on? Deleted app after around half an hour… thats good for my patients when it comes to frustrating technology. You have to watch all the jargon, before the ‘next’ button is available. Why not have a advertisement option I wonder?… Maybe the app is not as popular as its rivals, which are far ahead of the game. Rant over….Version: 1.13.30

Safety with locationI am very disappoint that my exact location is up for everyone to see and the only way to change it is to pay a subscription. Same with hiding it. I like to keep my location private or set it for a different area for safety. You just don’t know who’s out there in this world. And it takes a whole calendar month for the boo to delete your account. Not happy at all.Version: 1.13.31

I like itHaven’t found major issues with this app yet.Version: 1.13.39

NotificationsGreat app but many people including myself are having difficulties with notifications coming through even if the settings are turned on both on the phone and the app..Version: 1.13.16

3/5 Stars: Good, But BuggyIssues: 1. I was given limited matches (about 5-6) for the FIRST day I had it but wasn’t given any after that point. It’s been about 4 days and the message displayed is “You’ve reached your limit on matches for the day.” It is extremely inconvenient. 2. The second issue was with message notifications. I would get notifications from the person who messaged me through iPhone banners, but when I went into the app, the message would not show up or refresh automatically. I would have to close and re-close the app to see the messages in order almost every time, even though my internet connection was intact. I would also appreciate specific sounds for notifications through the app. 3. Messages come in from Person 1 while I’m responding to Person 2 in their chat. It gets really confusing. Overall, I love the idea of Boo and have had a good experience so far, almost immediately. I’m a person that deletes dating apps rather quickly, but I can see keeping this one for a while. I can also see multiple people finding good matches here, depending on their openness and maturity levels. Users can see developers do care about the underlying purpose - to find great matches and partners - and that goes a long way. It just seems to be buggy and that takes away from the entire experience, I’m sad to say..Version: 1.3.2

Don’t waste time….fake app looking for a cash grabFull of bots.Version: 1.13.38

AverageGreat to have more filters than other apps. A little confusing with the points layout/system.Version: 1.13.26

Glitchy appVery glitchy I couldn’t find how to upload a picture and load a profile. I tried and tried and eventually deleted the app more hassle and likely chargeable for the same flakes as on other sites. I like the idea but not user friendly. Support, Thank you for the email, but as I have deleted the app I can’t be bothered to try again. The Badoo app you can call/video chat without sharing contact details, it’s better than POF and neither are that great, it’s not the apps, fault in general it’s the poor intent users, that only want a virtual interaction ego stroke from any women replying. There is very little dating going on in real life, and I’m asked several times a day..Version: 1.13.33

Unsafe for women. Wouldn’t recommend appI’ve unfortunately had the displeasing experience of being harassed on this app by a man. I reported the man’s profile to the app developers by making a report via their in-built system as well as blocking him. However, they’ve failed to do anything regarding this issue, a week has passed and they haven’t responded to report. I’ve even heard from other matches as well as female friendships I’ve made- that they’ve had similar encounters with the exact same man. I was really impressed by the dating/friendship app but this experience has left me scared to interact with others..Version: 1.13.38

Not convincedFirst 2 “Loves” were obviously fake profiles. The whole thing just seems a bit complicated, I understand what they’re trying to do but I think they took it too far. Tinder is simple, Hinge has a lot of options/features, this is just a bit much..Version: 1.13.37

Great…. If you’re richI joined Boo because of the adds making it seem like a newer type of app that actually wanted to help people find love. Sadly this isn’t the case when you can only “match” with people 5 people a day without paying over $30 a month! They hide their best profiles behind a paywall so they are just as bad as Tinder or Bumble. At least on those apps I don’t have limits on profiles I can view a day.Version: 1.13.31

LolNice app.Version: 1.13.38

No human moderationNot only do you have no way to appeal any reports, no humans to communicate with regarding your profile, they straight up shadow ban you for whatever they deem as inappropriate or if others report your profile for any reason. For my case, and many others, if someone wanted to get back at you out of spite or boredom, they will report your profile for being inappropriate and guess what? Nobody there to actually appeal to. It wasn’t automated moderation or my picture wouldn’t have been approved since uploading it months ago and it certainly would be keeping full bikini photos from being used for hundreds of other profiles. Did you know they will shadowban you for using even the most rated G painting of Bacchus (the Young Sick Bacchus by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio) - which can be proudly displayed in elementary schools without any issues from any student, parent, or teacher (actually LOOK at the painting) oh but what are clearly bot and scam accounts are okay. I guess Boo just doesn’t like classic art but as long as they get their money from you (yes, they want to charge for subscriptions). Example: many profiles that’ll like you are using the same exact photos or are doing the exact block-face with phone in mirror photos for all of their pictures except MAYBE one and of course nothing in their bio..Version: 1.13.37

Cool featuresI like the personality tests, compatibility recommendations and social media features. The one major disadvantage I’ve found is the message requests I’ve had are predominantly from people overseas who don’t have the same language as me. I also don’t understand the “love” scoring or the “rating/ranking” and how to influence these categories..Version: 1.13.12

I can’t use the app anymore and there is no one I can contact as their email is noreplyI was using this app for a week maybe two, all was going good and then 2-3 hours ago I tried to go on the app and it wouldn’t load, I checked my Wi-Fi, and it’s working on all other apps except this one. I tried to email the company but the email is no reply’s so I can’t, I’ve tried to email them countless times by now but it’s still not working and I have no way to get onto the app. Do not suggest downloading the app, it’s a waste of your own time..Version: 1.13.36

My thoughts so farHas been good so far. Not a lot of people on my area but great to be able to interact with people all over the globe. Would possibly give more stars once I have been on here longer. Also have not had one single scammer so far so that is great !!!! Keep up the good work Boo !.Version: 1.13.26

Good concept, very laggy :(I love this app! It’s a great concept, even with the paywall limitations it’s good. I can see my matches have messaged but I can’t see their message past the preview, it worked absolutely fine for about a day and now the app is laggy and frustrating to use :( I would’ve blamed my phone for this but it’s brand new with no storage problems. Hopefully there can be an update to fix this soon so I can continue to use this great app! Unfortunately if there’s not then I’ll have to delete it :(.Version: 1.13.31

Boo ReviewThere it’s a lot to like with this app compared to others. The coins to unlock what would typically be premium features are not that hard to get especially if you don’t mind watching ads. There are a ton of things you can do with your coins like send people messages without matching first. Now with that being said I still feel like the coin gain could be just av little more generous but the fact that there is an option to get premium features is way better than most of the other apps. My biggest issue it’s that amount of people you can see a day on the free tier. It’s not like they cap you by the amount of people that you like it’s purely on the amount of people you see. So if you don’t line someone and move to the next that still counts against you in terms of the amount of people you’ll get to see before having to wait 24 or 12hrs to start matching again. They probably do this since they don’t have as big of a user base as some other apps but it’s still super frustrating. Slight update, I feel like this app more so than other dating apps has just an overwhelming amount of users promoting Only Fans or Sexual Services, I’d honestly say probably 90% or more users that like you are just out for money and reporting these accounts doss nothing at all. This why I’m dropping my rating from 4 to 3 stars, hopefully this will improve it’s just extremely annoying.Version: 1.13.36

Good potential but no activityI’ve used the app fairly regularly over the last week. This app has a views feature which is a useful tool which tells you how many users have viewed your profile, however this leads into the app’s biggest issue, being someone who lives in a large town of over 500,000 people, you’d expect a fair few people to see your profile. This isn’t the case, in a week, a grand total of 4 people have even seen me on the app, let alone liked. For this reason, it isn’t worth bothering with, stick to an app people actually use..Version: 1.13.10

It’s goodI like the idea. I think the personality test aspect is really interesting. The app doesn’t particularly feel like a dating app which I like but ide say it does feel a bit disorganized especially as a girl. There’s so many notifications of someone liking my profile that I don’t actually see when I get a message.Version: 1.13.20

BooI’ve heard from female friends that the men are awful on this app so if your a woman you’ll probably have to sift through quite a few guys until you find someone who’s decent, unless my friends just don’t like people ☠️ and for guys most people you send likes to don’t really respond because you have no idea whose profile is still active and being used or not 💀BUT, it doesn’t make it a bad dating app because there are genuinely good people on this app more so apposed to other dating apps..Version: 1.13.21

Updated*. Looks interesting - it will succeed or it will crash and burnIt’s a ghost town. New user signs up. They get to see the best profiles in the beginning and then it starts to dwindle. The app pushes for a paid membership to unlock more freedom. Then realize not many people are actually using the app and you wasted your money. Just like all the other dating apps out there - It will either do well or it will flop. I’m not impressed with how many people use the app so far. I did a hard test run and I sent over a few hundred likes and messages in the first day and 12 people have looked at my profile. I think it will fail in the long run. It’s not super female friendly. Even as a guy who sends messages to girls he hasn’t matched with, I can imagine girls get really overwhelmed by the amount of messages they’re getting from random dudes on the app that they haven’t liked or disliked yet. Day 3. No one uses the app. It’s completely vacant. Absolutely a waste of money. Extremely disappointing.Version: 1.13.30

ReviewHave used for a little bit haven’t matched with anybody yet but much easier than other apps and seems like there are a lot of like minded people on here.Version: 1.13.23

SickeningLet’s be honest this app was marketed as better than Tinder, Bumble etc but it’s the same if not even worse as you get matched with people in foreign countries even if the setting for oversees is turned off, and the app encourages men and women to become narcissistic and self obsessed about their image as it includes a social media feed in which people post things for attention and likes. Its completely out of place for a dating app and doesn’t make sense. For example, men can pay extra to send ‘compliments’ to women which is INSANE and basically turned the whole thing into a donations site or OnlyFans. Why would I want to match or try to date a girl who has a profile that’s received tons of these? It just shows she chats to a ton of other men and milking it instead of actually trying to find a ‘date’. It’s absolutely disgusting and the opposite of trying to find ‘the one’, as I thought the whole point in this app was to find a decent person to take on a date, and not someone who’s openly got a profile full of man meat liking and PAYING tips to see their every move. Someone matched with me the other day with 100K followers, eww gross..Version: 1.13.31

Why do I even use dating appsI just hop through multiple apps where I’ve sent every message I can, used every swipe I can, and just receive nothing back. It’s like I’m sending out a signal and just receive complete radio silence. As if everyone in the world is dead and I’m the only person. Everybody says “try this app, have you tried this?” And none of them are any different. It’s like profoundly sad, to witness myself just open my phone and hop through like 3 or 4 different apps and there’s no messages. Nothing I can even do. Spent all the time building a profile again and again and again, put in all the effort swiping mindfully, creative messages everything. And it doesn’t matter. It’s incredibly disheartening and yeah sad. It’s sad as fk, not just in like a “poor you” sympathy way, like this makes me cry, I am sad about it, it makes me sad, it’s sad as fk. Tired of being told “you’re not alone” cuz I have like 5 friends. Jus nobody gets it bro, and I try to explain it and they just don’t get it..Version: 1.13.23

BuggyHard to give this app a proper review when it doesn’t seem to work. I had half a dozen matches on Day 1, but now it just says “no souls detected. Try expanding your filters” every time I open the app. My filters are pretty broad as it is but I tested changing them just to fix it and nothing. The app will notify me that they have new people for me to see, but when I go to open it, it’s the same issue. If it was actually functional, I’d only have one complaint and it’s that there are A LOT of myer’s Briggs information reserved for premium users. This is kind of dumb to me since I can just google myer’s Briggs to get more information. I get something has to be reserved for premium, but maybe I could at least have points I could spend to unlock them. And then I could either buy more points or get a little just from logging on and liking or whatnot. Anyway, I haven’t really had enough time to decide how I feel about the app since it’s completely unusable :/ Edit: so interplanetary mode does fix the issue... kind of. I don’t really want to consider people 400 miles away because I’m not in a position to do a lot of traveling. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY way to get the system to show me anyone at all. Also, there’s no “like” button from what I can see, which means you HAVE to message someone or give them a hard “no”. Idk, I appreciate the developers responding and trying to make the app more approachable but it’s kind of rough to get anywhere..Version: 1.5.4

No one respondsAs an ENFJ this is worrying to me, ai feel bad for everyone in there… Especially the guys that are wasting their time and probably getting themselves into some deep depression...Version: 1.10.30

LiarThis app would be good if it stuck to their theme of ghosts. You're saying that people are matching based off personality but the lay out is practically the same as a lot of big brand dating apps. The ads made this seem like a blind dating app where you could reveal a picture of yourself if you wanted, however it asks you for pictures and displays them. It's literally badoo. Concept for you: allow people to make avatars of ghosts, then after talking for a period of time allow them to have a photo feature (they have to talk for at least two hours and you can't just match with them it and wait). This would make this app so much more true to the advertising..Version: 1.13.36

Giving Boo a Fair ChanceAs I sit down to write this review for the Boo app, I find myself in a bit of a unique position. To be entirely transparent, I haven’t had the chance to dive deep into everything Boo has to offer. As such, my current opinion on the app is still forming, and I believe it’s only fair to share my initial impressions. So far, Boo seems OK—nothing has particularly stood out to make it significantly better or worse than other apps in its category. However, I recognize that the true value of an app can often be discovered with more time and exploration. With that in mind, I’m approaching Boo with an open mind and a willingness to see what it might have to offer as I spend more time with it. I’ve decided to write this review not just as a placeholder but as a commitment to give Boo a fair shot. If, down the road, I find features or aspects of the app that truly distinguish it from its peers—or if my experience leads me to discover areas for improvement—I’ll be sure to update this review to reflect those insights. For now, consider this review as my honest take at the beginning of my journey with Boo. If you don’t see an update from me, it might mean that my feelings about the app have remained consistent. But who knows? The potential for change is always there, and I’m open to having my perspective shifted as I continue to explore what Boo has to offer. Stay tuned for any future updates, and here’s to hoping for a journey with Boo that’s worth sharing!.Version: 1.13.39

Its ok but it needs more people in my areaLike the title says.Version: 1.13.19

Way too much informationEach profile is over crowded and confusing, so much information that is supposedly used to match you with appropriate people but every second profile is a “challenging” personality type. The layout of the app is confusing and hectic, far too much happening.Version: 1.13.28

Feature rich, jury still out.It has some interesting features. They are behind paywalls. These features include a couple different personality tests. When you’re looking for a match, they display a lot of information about these personality types, how you would match with them how you wouldn’t . Maybe this is a dating site that at least has a benefit of giving you some feedback on yourself? It’s kind of a stark contrast of An in-depth attempt to match you based on a few questions you answered in a survey to the excessive speed, and or quantity of swiping that happens in modern dating. There’s all sorts of little micro transactions to get something to fix you up but that seems to be standard for dating sites these days. Like all the dating sites you get to search for free, but you can’t see your matches unless you pay. And theory a few mutually thumbs up each other, life is great and you can chat. Definitely more tools on this website to help you with your profile. That said there’s a lot of icons and I don’t understand what they all do. I’ve only used the mobile app. There may be some other interesting features. If you could find someone that’s paid to lock these features, and it sounds appealing. This might be a site to check out, however, I don’t think it could be fully appreciated unless you’ve been on other sites before. Once a new site was launched, where during the process of making a profile, I was not flooded with bots..Version: 1.13.39

Better than others, but still mediocreBoo has a bit better structure than other dating apps, but it is very pushy about buying premium, even more so than other apps. If you want to find a relationship and have either a full wallet or the stubbornness of a mule look no further..Version: 1.13.23

Just another appThis app like the rest of them will not let you set your location. Requires location and tracking data. I personally do not like that part about dating apps. They all have a gimmick of helping you find someone. But if they actually worked they would be worth a subscription. They should let people test the waters and see if its worth the money. Theres no guarantee that you are going to meet someone. Theres a lot of apps out there and none of them work to help you meet anyone unless you pay for something. The developer has to be able to make something for the work they put in making the app. I get that. But todays dating world is different and theres a lot more of people like me out here every day. If i find a better experience from one then i will write a review on their page. But currently the apps just dont work. Even if i pay for them. I give two start because its catchy. If it had more content before money was required i would give it more..Version: 1.13.38

Swipes are misleadingI would say Boo as a dating is pretty good in some areas. You can match with others in a reasonable amount of area. You don’t have to make a payment to talk with others and it seems that boo wants to try to do better than apps like tinder or bumble. But there are some parts I'm annoyed with. With the amount of swipes you get per day, when you swipe no on a person, that counts as if you were to swipe yes and takes one of your limited amount of swipes you get. This needs to go away as I only swiped on 3 people today and swiped no on the rest before i got the notification that i was out of swipes..Version: 1.13.40

Well, at least you tried.Don’t take my review as a general experience, though, most of you are going to be very disappointed when using dating apps. Boo is no different to Hinge, Bumble, Tinder whatever. There might be different functionalities as in different monetisation, but, in the end, you are not prying for a service, in fact, you are the product being sold. Anyway… Boo? Lots of fake profiles. Great user interface and lots of work into making the app. However, it’s not like it uses any raw material that is different than other apps. You want to meet someone? Read a book, start cycling, go to the gym, do the things that are you and get together with likeminded ppl: The only illusion dating apps are selling is that you will cheat on the work needs to find someone and that there is always someone better. You can’t and there might be. You just don’t have the time to find out..Version: 1.13.19

Nothing to write home about, yetThe 16 types personality aspect is really interesting & the apps only really unique feature, the ability to filter search options without paying a fee is also great to see. However the inability to adjust your search radius outside of local or global is poor. Particularly as some “local” suggestions are in excess of a 1h30 drive from my location. The ability to fine tune your search radius like all competitor apps (tinder, bumble, hinge) is much needed in my opinion, for this platform to compete with those..Version: 1.13.19

DeceptiveYou do a lot of work setting up your profile before it says you have to pay.Version: 1.13.38

Won’t let me verifyI’m sure that the app is good and you can meet some actual good people but I can’t give it any higher than a 1 star since I can’t for the life of me get a verification on my profile no matter what I do; matching the nose challenge, I’m met with a failed verification and I’ve tried it at least 3 dozen times now. I tried the manual verification and I tried that the same amount of times and not even 30 seconds later it says it’s “not clear enough” and I’ve tried it every which way. And since you need verification to have people see your profile, I’m getting no matches or message or anything. Like I said, I’m sure it’s a good app but I can’t give it any higher than a 1 star until I’m able to actually get a proper verification. I hope this can be fixed or I can be in contact with the creators to get myself proper verification, and until that changes my review won’t change..Version: 1.13.38

RefreshingLooks to be overrun by spammers and the like. Many requests from what looks like fake users and people from Africa… early days but doesn’t look good so far. Very few aussie interactions. The usual array of local nut job / pedantic , “single forever” women who have u realistic expectations and would scare off any decent man with their laundry lists of requirements (the usual array with online dating really). I’ll stick at it, but don’t have my hopes up! 😂.Version: 1.13.38

Would give zero stars if I couldThe idea behind this app is great, but they’ve really implemented it as horribly as possible. They hire fake accounts and BOTS to promote their content in a spammy way all across the MBTI groups on Facebook, even getting several of them permanently zucced for spam. They don’t care, they just keep going. The developers of this app are unethical, and I wouldn’t trust them with my data or privacy for that reason. They don’t know what they are doing. Two years of SPAMMING Facebook to DEATH (literally for the groups they selfishly killed with their spam), and still less than 300 reviews. I don’t trust these people. They’re doing a LOT wrong, and I simply don’t trust the developers as far as I could throw them. Absolute trash. Someone PLEASE make a better MBTI based app. The ones doing it so far are FAILING (like these guys), and such an app is actually really needed! Just not one run by unethical, crappy programmers who leave their work full of bugs. The worst part? When you try to offer them feedback, they ask you to change your review to a positive one but they never actually fix the problem. So who knows how many of these reviews are fake as well, all of the five star reviews are in question, probably written by the same bots that they hired to spam Facebook. Scam much, Derek & Team?.Version: 1.9.8

Seems okay as of nowNothing bad about it just figuring it out.Version: 1.13.38

Not enough daily swipes.Just not enough.Version: 1.13.17

Too Many people with Fake MBTI results.I was on this app for about a week and a half to make friends. Unfortunately a lot of people want to pretend to be a personality type they are not. This problem can cause relationships to be very inauthentic and difficult to understand. I recommend before using this app to understand that a lot of people create a facade to pose as something or someone they’re not. For example…there are a lot of intuitive personality types on this app. But statistically speaking; only 3/10 of people on the planet have intuitive traits as their primary or secondary function. Why is it that almost everyone on this app is intuitive with extremely rare and complex traits?!! I understand that this is an app made for a small group of people but the same criteria applies with using it. There should be more sensors than intuitive personalies. Its very disheartening to see people lie about their personality type because they cannot be comfortable learning how to be themselves. Just be yourself..Version: 1.13.32

🤬Been on there for one day and it sucks it a ghost town don't download it, just like the other dating apps on here waste of time.Version: 1.13.31

Figuring it outGood concepts needs tweeking.Version: 1.13.39

It’s alrightLocation finding is little werid, gives you people further away then closer. Like 50mile differences.Version: 1.13.39

Its fake! The algorithm this thing uses is pretty misleading, fake accounts, details and they really really got me buying an subscription but guess what definitely not worth it because it matches you people from really far away from the globe and i really can tell you something as a fact is that most accounts are FAKE , try it try using it for around and 30mins and you’ll see the same pictures repeating under a different name tag (which will look as verified)! THEY REALLY SOLD THE IDEA TO THE PEOPLE (WHICH SEALING THE ACTUAL SERVICE)!.Version: 1.13.20

Interesting, but not engagingThe app has a lot left to be desired. I would say it’s a pretty sub par dating app. The user experience when writing messages is pretty terrible. Putting in punctuation and hitting space leaves you in the punctuation/number keyboard and doesn’t switch back to the alphabet once you hit spacebar like every other iOS application and it’s really frustrating. The dating stuff and personality analysis seems cool, but borders on pseudoscience and psychic cold reading. I get matched dating with people extremely far away from me (Eastern Europe. I’m in the US) so it really just doesn’t work as a dating app at all despite regular use and putting my settings not to match me with people who are far from me. The social media aspect is pretty neat and you can find some nice discussions here and there, and the interface design is quite pleasant though. I’ll probably stick with it for a bit to see where it goes, but I’m not going to keep high expectations to get dates or anything from this app. It still has a very long way to go and leave much to be desired regarding user experience, messaging, and dating..Version: 1.13.31

First impressionsI love the concept, the personality quiz is a good idea. However you have very limited number of swipes per day without paying for a premium subscription which makes it hard to talk to people. You also have a limited number of DMs. I think there should be unlimited DMs and more available free swipes..Version: 1.13.37

So buggy…The concept is great, except half the time I can’t like or dislike someone’s profile because it just… doesn’t work… App has also been sending me a message daily telling me that “someone left me on read” when I’ve got no damned messages..Version: 1.13.36

If you try this app DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHINGThis app is in its infancy it seems. While it boasts 10 million downloads it definitely doesn’t seem to have the range of individuals when looking locally. This is what will happen when you download this app. It will ask you a “long survey” which is basically like 15 myers-briggs question and then assign you the type indicator. Btw this test has been considered unreliable amongst most professionals. The original myers-Briggs can be taken multiple times by the same individual with completely different results. Anyway. You get to the app and you put in some pictures and some things you like then you finally get to the swiping. I think after 10 or 15 swipes it’s going to tell you to either upgrade or wait. I foolishly decided to pay only to realize my dating/friend pool was 100 people with 20 or so being bots. There’s no way to get your money back, don’t waste your time (especially if you’re male). If you look at the male vs female followers you’ll see females get 100s of follows and guys get 5 at most. This isn’t necessarily atypical for dating apps… but when your location only has 100 or so females there must be 1000s of males. Go on tinder or bumble or hinge, it’ll cost you money but you’ll actually get results..Version: 1.13.23

Just startedThey want me to write a review but I’ve just started using it. So far the set up is goo, I enjoyed the extensive quiz and the information provided on my personality, I think it’s accurate. Haven’t found anyone to talk with yet and been on no dates..Version: 1.13.29

Money grabNot very many local (Canadian) people. All profiles seem to come from the Philippines. App has very little functionality unless you pay for membership. Most features are behind a paywall. Might be better if it gained more popularity in North America but right now Would not reccomend this app..Version: 1.13.19

AverageIdk maybe bit better then tender because it has the testing part.Version: 1.13.35

PrettyinkinkUpdate: I somehow got banned? I assume… there was no communication on it. I sent feedback asking as well as looked online, but I came to my own conclusion that this happened. There is no information regarding the timeline - is this a permanent or temporary ban? I wish there was more information readily made available and communicated on these things because I have matches that aren’t receiving messages from me, and I don’t know when I can communicate with them again… so they will likely unmatch me during this time period. The app is really great! I enjoy that you take the typical MBTI and Enneagram personality tests, and the compatibility is rated more on that rather than other aspects. But it actually explains those to you as well as what types you would be compatible with and in what challenges could present. You’re able to fill in a bio and prompts similar to other popular dating apps like Bumble. But what those don’t have is a social media feature like Twitter and a live feed like IG that allows for hobby hashtags interaction with other users. You can also search for friends, and there is the option for global connections too similar to OKCupid. The only downfall is that it is so new, and there aren’t many users on it - hopefully that changes soon!.Version: 1.13.7

NewSo far so good.Version: 1.13.39

More like Ghost TownBoo advertises itself as “different”. As a guy who’s spent way too much time on dating apps, it’s really not. The only thing different about it is its use of personality tests to help guide you on how compatible you might be with potential matches. Admittedly this would be pretty good - if there was actually anyone to match with. Add to this the fact that Boo still insists that you pay for the app in order to get any benefit out of it. My personal opinion is that Boo is too big for it’s britches and needs to actually grow before it starts demanding money from lonely men. I understand it’s a new app - it takes time for people to find it and join it. But when there’s next to nobody to even swipe on it feels a bit insulting to keep getting pestered for money. If Boo had brains they’d be giving away premium subscriptions in order to quickly build their user base - they can start nickel and diming like every other app once they’ve proven there’s a reason to pay for the app in the first place..Version: 1.13.31

Incredible conseptThis app seems amazing. If i could use it. I keep getting an infinite loading screen whenever i click to start matchmaking. I love the style of the app and the way it works and its so much cheeper and i like the way you can choose the membership plan rather than tinders year subscription only offer it has a one month plan for only £5 not £60 which is insane. Id love to use the app but please fix the loading errors thanks🙂.Version: 1.13.33

Very goodWay more in depth than any other apps. But has it really been any different in achieving anything more than any other app? Not really, but then it’s horses for courses isn’t it really. Maybe apps aren’t the way to meet people. Meeting people in real life is better. Join groups of people with mutual interests. Volunteer somewhere. Just be nice and people will like you. You don’t need apps to find people . Not really. But good luck in your quest and I hope, unlike Bono, you DO find what you’re looking for. All the best. X.Version: 1.13.37

It's so difficult to deleteWanted to meet ppl in my area just to make friends and it's shows me mostly people outside of my country ? and so many ppl don't even have pictures on their profile. so i'm like okay this just isn't for me, nothing wrong with that i guess. my frustration comes from how difficult it is to delete an account. i don't want my online footprint to be huge so if i'm deleting an app i'd like to delete all traces of me on it. i press the delete button all the way on the bottom of the accounts page which is in the settings page. and after confirming that i want to delete my account so many times it still keeps trying to convince me too keep an account by showing me other peoples success stories and other things i can do on the app. oh my god just let me delete the account. and when i finally do delete my account it takes me to my home page which shows "continue as 'my name' " basically indicating that my account hasn't been deleted ?? after i basically went through 10 slides confirming i wanted to delete my account. apparently it still keeps the account active and online and on display for a whole month ?!!!!!!! that is so long? that's insane. i really want my account delete when i request for it otherwise i would not have requested for it, especially if i requested for it to be deleted so many times. that is insane. that is so insane. please just please delete my account. this is giving weird vibes i don't want my profile on the app if i'm not on it..Version: 1.13.15

Ms Tanya whiteBe extremely careful 5 out of 5 of the men I was chatting to were fake! They are very clever and believable. Signs to watch for are widowed, father died when young , wife caught in bed with best friend. They were all foreigners (Spanish, Belgium, Finland ) working in the US , California, Texas. They could send voice recordings and videos but these were faked somehow. STAY ON THE SITE. They opted for google chat, telegram and signal. I’m not even sure how you can check, I found out when I called one who was foreign but the video he sent was American. Check instagram and Facebook but they probably fake these too..Version: 1.12.11

It’s “okay” and that’s saying a lot.I kept seeing this ad for “boo”, a dating app. I kept ignoring it because I knew it was full of spam, stalkers, creeps and bots. I could never find a good review so I was wary. So curiosity killed this cat and I downloaded it. I expected to create a slapped together profile with some random pics from my album but before I could do that, “Boo” gave me a personality quiz. I thought it was cool to match personalities instead of just likes. Also there are other options than just dating. There are little rooms for certain likes to have convos in and post thoughts or questions to other users. From subjects about writing to food. Your profile has all your traits so you can get an idea of compatibility before going through the loop of “hi what’s your fav color?” 100 times… Anyway, there ARE cons… Like being charged to do every little thing. I get they’re trying to weed out the people there to waste time but I can’t have a convo a certain amount of texts without going for a prescription? Or changing details on my profile? There are still and will always be creeps on these apps. As soon as I created my profile I was spammed by at least 6 solicitors. There’s only one conversation so far that’s okay. Overall : nothing to jump up about, but has some cool features. Still has creeps..Version: 1.13.31

Unsure yetSeems like a good concept however the gamification of everything seems like they are brazenly trying to capitalise on the pay to win business model, which solely relies on whales, and leaves the free players struggling to enjoy the app at the same level as others. Which if you take the gaming metaphor away means you could lose out on interacting with someone you could really get on with. So your options are struggle or pay lots of money for coins. Insidious..Version: 1.13.23

View limitSo after a couple of days of using the app it actually seems that unlike other dating apps who have like limits per day, boo seems to have view limits which is just objectively way worse. If your entire daily allotment is people you don’t find attractive then you’re just out of luck until tomorrow. This should probably be fixed to be in line with other apps that offer a fixed amount of likes per day instead. I find myself only sending off 2 likes a day at the moment on Boo..Version: 1.13.12

Boo the app to be ghosted on!Like most dating apps (and all the tricks and cons they employ) things start off well you’ll get bombarded with likes and potential matches, but these soon dry up, most turn into dead ends with no response, imagine my surprise! Then all you’ll get is the standard barrel scrapers and profiles trying to direct you to only fans and the likes. I’m now only getting views and potential matches from far off countries in such places as Asia and South America, that’s handy if I had a boat load of frequent flyer miles! It might work for some, the idea on paper sounded good, but the test is irrelevant and matches, certainly in my area, are thin on the ground. The payment options seem pricey to me and now I’ve used the app certainly not worth the cost..Version: 1.13.34
