NHS COVID-19 for Negative User Reviews

Great idea, poor execution!Great idea but piss poor execution! So I got a notification about an exposure to someone who is now positive, I clicked the notification for the app to open and then nothing no info! What if I had cleared the notification by accident or my phone went flat then it would be gone! It needs to be updated to have a list where you can see not only past notifications, but when you have been exposed it should list the following Date, time, duration, location. So you can then make further informed decisions about that location and if you want to go back there etc. Unless they do this the app is useless really!.Version: 3.7.1

IneffectiveI live with my parents, two brothers and my boyfriend. My dad tested positive before Christmas and I was never contacted on the app, even though we live in the same house and both have it. Then my brother tested positive and still nothing. I felt unwell so booked a test for me and my boyfriend via the app which came back negative. When I went to check that it had updated i found that it hadn’t even though it says you don’t have to update it if you book through the app. We’ve already isolated for over 10 days now and my mum tested positive today. The app has told me I need to isolate for 9 days now, but NO-ONE else in my household has been informed? The NHS and government website BOTH say that my self isolation should’ve finished as I don’t have symptoms. There’s no clear guidance or advice on this on the app and it just seems to be a complete mess. It’s a shame as I really had faith that it would work but unfortunately I think so many people are given incorrect information or aren’t informed at all that it can’t be working!.Version: 4.1

Not for USAWould be nice to have this in USA but it looks like it’s a UK only app.Version: 3.10.2

A good start but let’s make it betterHey, I think the app is a great start and well overdue. Just a couple of points to say. Went in a weatherspoons today for dinner had to do the NHS track and Trace and then the Weatherspoons track and trace (not sure why I had to do both) but think it should be clearly, surely the NHS one is the official one and in all honesty I would rather have the NHS app know some of my details rather then the weatherspoons one, I know, I know this isn’t really an app / NHS issue but it should be clearer. Secondly I think when you check into a venue it should record the past venues you have been into but most importantly the time you arrived and left, if I arrive at a pub at 12:00 stay for an hour your app records me until midnight, this could mean that if I am only there for an hour and someone comes in after me then later tests positive my understanding is you contact everyone who is there up until midnight which could mean that I have to self isolate for no reason as the positive case was after I had already left, a time in and out feature is much need plus a history of the locations I have visited. Other then that great app, well done and keep up the great work. Thanks.Version: 3.6

Not well designed.Any good app provides value to the user. Value promotes usage and loyalty. This app provides zero value to the user. 1. Should be able to use the camera only and not the app to register. Should allow others to register using your own phone e.g. people who don’t have a phone, foreigners. 2. Should be able to see a history of usage inc. locations visited, In and out times. 3. Should be able to register your leaving an establishment even if you closed the app. Currently if you close they app you cannot explicitly log you that you have left an establishment. 4. Why not show a map with the zones and their risk category. Useful to know where to avoid or take extra precautions..Version: 3.6.1

Not Made For USAI figured I’d download this to be better safe than sorry. It looked pretty straightforward, until it asked me what my postal code was. Here in the USA, we have a 5-digit zip code, for example 90210 (like the soap opera), and it does NOT work only 4 characters as the limit. Please create a US variant of this..Version: 3.10.2

Questions needing an answerAs we are paying a huge amount of public money to private corporations for this supposedly world beating app, we deserve better. I’m deleting app until there are some good answers to key questions e.g. (1) QR codes don’t always work but if you do check in to a location it assumes you are there all day - this obviously raises the risk of incorrect contacts. Why not provide a check out button? (2) Despite previous assurances on confidentiality, the government has admitted that personal data from this app may be shared with the other organisations, such as the police - please could you provide clarity about which organisations and the circumstances under which this will be done? (3) Loads of glitches are being reported, but not being responded to. Rather than providing a boilerplate “thanks” to the uncritical feedback, why don’t you spend more time addressing the real problems?.Version: 3.7.1

Fit for purpose - requires some UI improvementsConsidering how quickly the app had to be developed, thankfully it is fairly well put together and is fit for purpose. I hope future releases will continue to improve the experience - I do have one suggestion. Currently, when you receive a notification of ‘potential exposure’ or ‘exposure assessed, you do not have to do anything else at this time’ etc., the notification disappears once you tap it to go into the application. For people’s sanity, would it be possible to add a notification log within the application - potential exposures could be classed as under review, exposure confirmed and self isolate or a non exposure? Also, my partner and I have had a number of instances where only the first ‘potential exposure’ message is sent, with no follow up confirmation message. As you can imagine this is very anxiety inducing having to wait to hear back and to not receive any follow up message isn’t great. Please could you address this in the next bug fixes?.Version: 3.7.1

Wasn’t tracked or traced.Wasn’t tracked or traced after checking into multiple locations with someone who later tested positive..Version: 3.9

App functions but aspects NEED revisingI’ve given it 3* as it’s not crashed yet & seems to perform as needed Issues however are in the info & things like saying my postcode is ‘high risk’ When I clicked through to see what that meant I was met with this: “You should continue to help control the virus. To protect yourself and others, when you leave home you must: keep washing your hands regularly wear a face covering over your nose and mouth in enclosed spaces stay at least 2 metres away from people not in your household If you're feeling unwell, get a test and do not leave home for at least 10 days.” That is NOT high risk, that’s the general advice since March - it seems mine has been detected because 20 miles away is on a local lockdown but they’re not here, the last time I was there was over a month ago. the net seems too far reaching Additionally the symptom checker is vague and I REALLY don’t think advising ‘to the touch’ over taking a temperature is a great metric - I thought I was ‘hot to touch’ so clicked yes on that question - was told to stay at home for a week & order a test, I asked someone else for their opinion on if I felt ‘hot to the touch’ they disagreed & now I don’t need to stay home for a week and get a test 🤷‍♂️ We shouldn’t be having ‘eyeball it’ as a diagnostic measure - the vast number of users will not be medically trained and a simple difference of opinion can alter the result.Version: 3.6

Exposed to COVID through a wall...Really frustrated that the app is told my partner and I to isolate as our neighbour next door has tested positive. I appreciate new build walls are not what they used to be but come on, this is crazy. Can COVID really travel through plaster board? The developer says that it can’t go though walls but considering my work mobile also said the same thing and that phone has not left my desk since before Christmas I find that hard to believe. In the period no one had been in the flat apart from my partner and I and my phone didn’t leave with me. The notification came the same day my neighbour tested positive and I didn’t leave my flat on the date of exposure so not sure what the app is doing. I haven’t seen them in person for weeks so it can only be through the wall. I have now turned off tracing to avoid further bogus notifications so what is the point of the app apart from a glorified QR scanner Developer doesn’t care and just posts a copy and paste response and link to useless faqs.Version: 4.1

Very unhappyI received a push notification on Saturday 3rd July to self-isolate until Thursday 8th July at midnight because I had been in close contact with someone who had tested positive. I clicked on the notification and the app opened showing me the countdown screen. I searched the app for more information and all I could find was the encounter date and the notification date. No information about where I had the encounter. On the date (and week) in question I had been in work. My phone is kept in my locker on airplane mode and nobody at work has tested positive nor have they been told to isolate. I had been to Aldi and Asda briefly but did not check in with the app. I’ve had no other contact from track and trace (I had to isolate in January and I got 3 texts and a phone call). Nobody I know has tested positive for Covid. Therefore I am at a loss as to why I am isolating. I can only assume there has been an issue with the app. I now have to take 4 days off work, unpaid, and it’s very frustrating because I can’t even find out any more information of where the notification has come from..Version: 4.13.1

Not impressedI’m not gonna lie, the idea and the premise of the app is great, and it is good in terms of checking in to venues. However it does annoy me that you can’t check out and it automatically checks you in until midnight. I have now had to delete the app as it was draining my data and battery like mad. One minute I’d be on 90%, I’d go on and check my emails for 5 minutes and I’m suddenly on 75%! Another issue I’ve had is getting notifications saying I’ve had a possible exposure to COVID, but seeing nothing when I click on the app to explain the notification. Thanks to google, I found that it is a common problem with iPhones and not something I needed to worry about. However, as a cancer patient about to begin chemo, that notification could have caused me a lot of undue stress and panic and could have caused me to delay my treatment if I thought the notification was genuine! As it was I only googled the notification to see whether I needed to call my nurse and say my first treatment needed to be delayed if I needed to isolate. Again, while the idea of the app is great, the flaws could lead to a lot of unneeded stress and worry, and could lead to someone delaying vital treatment, like I almost did..Version: 3.6.1

Not well explainedHad the app early on and used the QR checker when we could still go to a garden centre for COVID-19 secure coffee. Since latest lockdown rarely looked at it as we didn’t go out and had nobody in our house. Knew our area was already T3. Today looked at it by chance and it told me I should isolate as we’d been near an infected person. Then noticed that I should have been isolating for 3days already with only 7 to go. Worked back the dates and realised that the message came on Christmas Day. That day I was alone at home all day apart from a walk round my estate where I saw very few people and avoided all of them by some distance. Only spoke to one family who are friends and live near by. Talked socially distanced outdoors for a few minutes. None of them have tested positive recently though one did have the virus last March. Only after and email from the developer did I find out how to determine when the encounter was. Didn’t see the notification until 3days later. Are we expected to watch the app all day and everyday..Version: 4.1

Decent but improvements could be madeI understand why this hasn’t been done as standard for privacy readiness but I’d personally rather the COVID level changed on the app depending on where I am. Could this be added as optional as its good to be aware now that areas are changing all the time? Please could the app accept non NHS tracj and trace COVID tests? I had a test at a private hospital as part of some surgery I am having and it occurred to me that if it had been positive it would be important to be able to log it on the app. This is not possible currently. I’m sure all the results are processed in the same private labs anyway. Having just been to Scotland its a real shame that this doesn't link with the Scottish app/they aren’t using this app too. It must be annoying if you live near the border. This app is better than the Scottish one as they don’t have a proper electronic track and trace system..Version: 3.7.1

Buggy and potentially harmful applicationOur family undertook voluntary covid-19 test as part of a school initiative. Upon entering a positive result the app miscalculated the isolation period resulting in shorter dates. We ignored that. Moreover I entered a negative test result and my wife entered a positive result. The phones were on top of each other with tracing on and I got all green. 14 days later after being locked in the house for the whole time the app decided to trigger my isolation as I had been in touch with a positive person. What an absolute joke. This app is based on unproven technology and appears to have several design issues. Updated review after developer feedback having checked on the app the exposure date was January 1st on that day I had no contact with anyone. We went for a walk and my wife was with me. Two issues first why did the notification arrive 2 days later? If this is not prompt this is useless second the app is not able to limit to two meters as low power Bluetooth is not distance aware so doesn’t know who is actually close to you. I understand the situation is desperate but if the technology can’t do something better do nothing than came up with botched job like this. If the technology was able to detect proximity there would have been wide commercial use but obviously this is not the case. Do us a favour and disable this buggy and unreliable functionality and make sure data is updated real time as clearly isn’t.Version: 4.1

Notification Not Helpful & Provide No ValueThe intent of this app is great, but it provides little end user value. I’ve received a notification about possible exposure, but it has no information on when or where. If I click the notification, it takes me to the App and then disappears, again with not further information, or even anything in the App reaffirming the notification I just received. What if I clicked it by mistake without reading it fully? Without any actual information, this app is just yet another failure of the test and trace screen..Version: 3.7

Faulty notificationsI received two notifications which I tapped on and then they immediately disappeared. So I have no idea what they actually said, however, one seemed to say I had been exposed and then the other was a clarification of that exposure. Meanwhile I have no idea what the app is trying to tell me what I should know and do!! Not at all helpful. Would be nice if the Government could at least get this right..Version: 3.7.1

NHS TRACK AND TRACE, my first impressions. To be honest, after all the drama that’s gone on throughout this pandemic, this is what we needed, we need a clear understanding of where there are infected people, if they have followed the government advice, don’t get me wrong I’m not entirely fond of Boris or his advice as we all know it hasn’t been too clear, but the advice I have been following to a T is the advice from our very own NHS! Its a simple app, you check in at whatever venue you’re at, it shows you the threat level in the area you’re at as it scans the area for any signs of an infected person, although again it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re in the clear as not everyone will be too comfortable with this app. But you can TURN OFF the scanning option, you can set a reminder if you wish to have it scanning again at a later date or the option DONT REMIND ME is also there for those that don’t care much for it. All in all a pretty basic app, does it’s job, I’ve given Three stars simply because it does tend to drain your battery when you have the app scanning in the background, other than that I can’t see why the general public don’t want to use/download the app, Boris isn’t trying to control everyone, after his handling of the lockdown do we really believe he can control us with an app? Definitely not, he’s a fool, keep safe, keep your distance and we’ll hopefully see each other on the other side of this, peace x.Version: 3.6.1

Vague and Terrifying NotificationsI’ve received 3 pop up notifications telling me I’ve had a possible exposure and to open the app for more info. There’s never any info in the app. It only ever shows the same basic screen. So I guess that means they’ve been false alarms?.Version: 3.7

Well designed but...I think this app is intuitive and works well for contact tracing and for checking into locations. However, I think it’s a shame that Scotland and England have developed separate apps. I believe this is because the NHS is a devolved matter in Scotland. If you live on the border it must be very frustrating, especially if you go back and forth frequently as you’ll have to make sure you use them both. I also think that this may cause problems down the line particularly for English people who aren’t aware that there is a separate app for Scotland. The test and track system would be more robust if a UK-wide app had been created through an NHS Scotland and NHS England collaboration. Is there data sharing between the app developers? With no travel restrictions between the countries or sharing of info, the test and trace system can only be as strong as the its weakest link..Version: 3.6.1

Bug in the application and suggestion to improve applicationI have put in the application i have one symptom which is cough then it shows me i need to do test as soon as possible and self isolate for 10 day. Then i delete this application and all data loss. It count me as a new account and shows me nothing. Its good if we store each account information and when the same person re-instal the application it shows all the previous data. Suggestion to improve application: Mark NHS number as a primary Key. Each user needs their NHS number to login into the application. Its good if user uninstalled the application and install again then all data automatically retrieved which is stored with respect to NHS number. It is also good because every person in UK has their individual NHS number. When individual do their Covid-19 Test what ever the result automatically update into this application with the help of NHS number like how we get result through email and mobile text. So we not need to update individually by go to “Enter the Test Result”. Because now through this application we can also book our test. But the problem is how you stores the data because if individual delete this app all the data gone..Version: 3.6.1

Terrible app - deleting it from my phoneAs per previous reviews, this app keeps you logged into a venue until midnight unless you check in elsewhere. How hard can it be to include a feature whereby you can log out? I note the responses to reviews by the app developer simply confirm you will be logged out of a venue at midnight. There is zero clarity as to whether you can be notified to isolate based on someone who was at the venue after you had gone. I went to a restaurant with three friends, two of us checked in with the app and the other only had contact tracing on with the Bluetooth feature yet she received no notification to isolate… I question how I could have been exposed when the restaurant I was in had tables so far apart. Once this self isolation period is up I will be deleting the app and relying on the manual check in wherever I go as I have more faith that the restaurants will properly consider who needs to be notified of potential exposure rather than anyone who was in the restaurant in an 8 hour or so window. Again as per other reviews, I was notified to isolate days after ‘exposure’ so had been carrying on with activities/socialising without any knowledge of said exposure. I also agree with others - why is there no ability to enter lateral flow results within the app? You need to go to a separate website away from the specific covid app to log results..Version: 4.12

No help at allTold to self isolate as a result of being a “close contact” of someone. On the day in question I only went to one place, was socially distanced / wearing a mask all the time and don’t believe I was nearer enough to anyone for any lengthy period of time. E.g: someone might have walked along the aisle next to me within 2 metres for a minute choosing their products but that’s it. I have absolutely 0 matched key counts on my phone for any of the days surrounding the supposed exposure. So why on earth am I being told to isolate? Only 2 out of our family, all with apps, told to isolate so missing people?! When I’ve tried to contact to address these problems they tell you to phone 111. Having no medical concerns, I’m not going to overwhelm a medical helpline in the middle of a pandemic! Totally understand not telling you the name / address of who you were supposedly near, but an indicator of risk e.g “at X location, on X date, you were exposed to X number of people who have since tested positive, for up to X minutes”. Also live in an apartment block where next door neighbour is isolating for same length of time, so possibly him. But haven’t seen him face to face for months, but our Bluetooth will say we’re close because we’re the other side of the wall and connect to each other’s Bluetooth speakers for example. This seems to be happening to lots of other people from a social media search. We’re all deleting this app..Version: 3.9

DisgustingNot a citizen here in the UK but am required to download this app in order to submit my 2 negative test results during quarantine. It’s an indication of a depraved society that we have imprisoned healthy, often times immune or vaccinated people for weeks on end. Now add to that an app that tracks your location “anonymously” just so a “free” people might be allowed, by their benevolent government, to leave their own homes and attend their own businesses within their own communities. What’s worse is that everyone has begged for this level of surveillance and control in order to FEEL just a gram safer. I feel physically ill and I’m overcome with a sense of dread that I cannot fully explain with this app installed on my tracking device. I will delete as soon as possible! “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety” Benjamin Franklin.Version: 4.7

Useful for teachers? Community nurses? Trades people? Gyms?+ Very easy to use, good clear UI. - Asks if you are 16 or over to use, so not useful in schools if kids are not using it where social distancing is non existent at current full opening. - Also, if your phone isn’t on your person such as when away from your desk, if what you’re wearing doesn’t have pockets, or using machines at a gym it is not going to work as intended. Maybe an equivalent/partnered watch app would be more helpful. - As per previous reviewer - you are asked for your postcode when setting up the app and that becomes the focus for your risk area. Hardly very useful for community nurses, people who travel for work etc. An option for it to be able to use you location would be good or even just the ability to change your location to check other areas. The the only way I could change postcode was to uninstall and reinstall the app. Summary Very disappointed that considering we have waited so long for this app compared to other countries that the functionality seems basic and limited and doesn’t seem to take into account that in areas like schools were social distancing in nonexistent, teacher often don’t have phones attached to them and kids are under 16 so according to ts and cs shouldn’t use it. I will use it as it is the only thing we have - could be so much better though - even my GCSE computer science class suggested valid improvements..Version: 3.6

Poor implementation- given three different dates for when my isolation ends!Update 10th November: I’ve received a reply with a generic link to FAQ, which are not applicable to me. It seems that my feedback has not been properly read by the dev team! Initial feedback: The interface of the app is pretty intuitive and straightforward. Unfortunately, it seems there is a lack of brain-power behind it! I’ve been given three different dates for when my self-isolation would end. I initially tested positive on 31 October, and was asked to isolate until 10 November. Recently, my wife tested positive as well - and I’ve received another notification from track and trace, advising me I have been identified as a contact for someone with COVID. The new advice is that I isolate until 18 November. (To make the matters even worse, I have also been called twice by NHS track and trace - and was given a third date: 7 November!) The whole thing seems very disjointed and uncoordinated - at a time when people need to be provided with clear information! When I was contacted by NHS track and trace, the operator did not seem to understand me, spoke in poor English and just read questions from a script - and was unable to answer any of my questions! It is rather ridiculous there is no way of contacting NHS track and trace to clarify all the inconsistencies above. I am hoping that at least I would get some support from the development team. Thank you Alex.Version: 3.10

Doesn’t download iPhone 6+ IOS 12.4.8I guess only people with the newest smart phones and IOS are worth tracing and notifying of covid alerts. Thanks for not making this available to everyone..Version: 3.6

Horrendous!I have barely left the house over the last year as I am seen as vulnerable. But I have twice had to isolate due to the app. 1) I only found out as I opened the app to click into a venue an it was flashing 7 days. No notifications, even though I double checked they were switched on. I had been at work that day, 4 days earlier I had been with a shielding person (who I would not have met if I had been notified). I rang the number, and was told the person I came in contact with, was 3 days earlier (so a whole week had gone by) I didn't qualify for the financial grant as I’d not isolated from the 1st day. But how would I have known?!!! Then 2) last week I had only left my house twice to meet two friends separately outside. They never got pinged. Again - no notifications, just I opened it as I realised one of those friends had been to Wembley! And again 8 days to isolate flashing. Again NO notifications. 3) today as I’m suppose to end my isolation, the app says it’s broken and I did get a notification for that!.Version: 4.14

BrokenThis app used to work and be recommended by me to all that I knew. Since having covid recently and working in oncology I knew the importance of self isolation to keep those with weaker immune immunity safe. So why wouldn’t I recommended it now? Simply, it doesn’t work. Here’s why… 1. Venue Check-in removed? Why? 2. Positive status doesn’t make the slightest difference to anyone else’s app, even in close proximity, so one assumes this is now just a pseudo way of making people feel safer. How do I come to that conclusion… Well 2 phones with 1 personal running the app for the last 2 years and one work that didn’t. When I tested positive and self isolated I set my work phone up and left it literally next to my personal for 8 days. No response to the proximity and no ‘ping’. Additionally my partners phone didn’t alert them to my self isolation status. Then the other way round, when they tested positive and put their results into the app, whilst I was ‘clear’ my app did not alert me to my close proximity, even though we slept in the same bed with the phones charging every night in the same spot. So 3 phones, no alerts, no point. I can only assume that this is because of the government meddling that’s taken place. It’s simply now simply a waste of storage space and energy. 3. The government have royally messed this situation up. Covid is here to stay, however they had an opportunity to get this right on so many occasions. They have failed..Version: 4.26.2

Fatal flaw ...I downloaded the app as soon as it was available, but as a shielder undergoing chemotherapy I rarely go anywhere but hospital & get home visits from nurses - so I haven’t QR coded anywhere (I do know where I’ve been). Monday I was asked to get a Covid test checked, so went into the app to book a test - found this really straightforward so happy with that bit. My concern was that the app told me that I ‘still had 3 days left to self-isolate’ as I had been in contact with someone with a positive test - looking at the timing no idea who could possibly be (except one of my nurses and she’s not tested positive) - but I am concerned that I didn’t seem to get some kind of notification - or at least didn’t seem to get one that couldn’t be ignored. This seems to be a fatal flaw - do we need to rely on people opening the app regularly for it to work? My Covid test was negative - but I am concerned that I went onto the chemotherapy suite twice during a time it appears I should have been self-isolating. I’m pretty digitally savvy so quite concerned about if there’s something wrong with the app or something simple that I and others may have missed. Lots of friends have now checked their apps and say doesn’t seem to wake up until we manually check on it... Hope this helps either feed development of the app, or a comms campaign to help people use it better..Version: 3.10.2

Won’t work on my iphoneUploaded the app (not happy about details being stored for up to 20 years but hey ho) only for it to say ‘unfortunately you can’t run this app’. It states this is due to it being either a company phone (it’s not) or another app collecting the same data is on my phone preventing this app from running (there’s not another app doing this on my phone). *Update* - had a very strange email response today from Apple all about data protection re:my review above (even though the bulk was around their app not running!). Would rather have had helpful info as to ‘how’ to sort out the reason why this app won’t install than a data protection less lesson. I did raise a surprised eyebrow though when the email contained this line ‘the app cannot track your location’. Really? I thought that was the whole point? Otherwise how does it know i’ve been beside a positive person if it doesn’t even know where i nam/have been? Am still none the wiser as to how to get this app to run on my iphone........Version: 3.6.1

Definitely a good start 👍🏼Overall seems a decent app so far. However, unless I just haven’t figured it out yet, you should be able to update your location on the app as to the risk within the direct area you are in (for example, if you work somewhere other than where you live or if you’re spending a few nights away somewhere, rules permitting) as well as the area you live. Especially if you’re not actually going anywhere that requires you to “check-in”. As although it’s helpful knowing the risk for the area you live, if you’re miles from that location for even just a day, it’s not very helpful knowing the risk at home and not where you are! Also, this needs to be developed to include slightly older iOS compatibility - I know of so many people unable to download the app because they’re running, even only slightly, older versions (e.g. iPhone 6’s, which aren’t even that old, aren’t compatible as they’re running iOS 12)!.Version: 3.6.1

It’s good, but....I can understand this is most likely still a work in progress, even though we’re all trying it out Live! The thing that’s gotten me is, how can the notifications on your Lock Screen say, “You may have been exposed to someone with Covid 19. Please log in to the app for more info.” You go there and nothing, literally, nothing! Surely there would be a notifications section in there?! An extra section to view any potential problems! But nope, nothing. Having been tested by UCL, I’m negative, which leads to another problem! You don’t seem to be able to log tests by other companies/institutes, their codes aren’t recognised. Also, having only just discovered, apparently when in work, I should be turning the app off (I work in fast food, out of the way of customers, staff are all wearing masks, washing hands every 30 minutes; and sectioned off behind moveable screens). Yet, because a Covid case walked in through the front door, sat down and stayed for more than 15 minutes in the same building, this app notified me that I may need to self isolate! Bit strange, when you haven’t come into contact with a customer for 8 hours! Clarification on if we need to turn off the app in work, needs to be made. ......and for those reading this, please tell your children/teenagers not to share their face masks with fellow class mates, so that they may enter our premises (McD), staff have to refuse them entry if they do!.Version: 3.6.1

Isolation days incorrectInput my test result code and the app has the remaining number of isolation days wrong. Very annoying.Version: 4.22.2

It’s barely ever worked. Only shows a start screen. To be honest, when it works, it seemed nice. Clunky, but it worked. But sadly it has only worked once. It seems buggy, and even on an up-to-date iPhone XR, it doesn’t work. It just opens and stays stuck on an intro screen screen. I’m embarrassed that this is what we’ll rely on with COVID. Yikes..Version: 3.10.1

So many failingsThere are just so many failings with this app. For instance just three very basic failings. 1: it can only work on more modern smart phones. Given that many if not most of the most vulnerable elderly folk don’t have smart phones or at least probably not a recent model (if they even have a mobile) it’s usefulness is immediately limited. 2: the app only tells you the risk level of your home. It should (and could easily) pick up where you are and tell you the risk level there. I’ve spent time it two other parts of the country and it would have been so helpful if the app had told me the risk level there. 3: when you turn contact tracing off as I do when I’m at home in he evening, it says it will remind me to turn it back on. It doesn’t! So if I don’t remember I head off out with contact tracing turned off. Not much use! This app could be a very valuable tool, but as it clearly had not been carefully thought out it cannot be the useful tool that it should be..Version: 3.6.1

Pretty Poor.I’ve given this 2 stars as I have no way of knowing if it’s proximity features actually work. What I do know is the app has sent me notifications stating I’ve been in close contact with someone who has tested positive and it was assessing the risk that this posed to me. The notifications disappeared into the ether when I pressed on them not to be found anywhere including in the app itself. After a little research I found this part of the poor design of the app and nothing for me to worry about as I haven’t been in close contact with a positive case. It has also falsely changed the alert level in my area. Lastly, after booking a test through the app and receiving a negative result via email and text the app hasn’t updated and still tells me I need to self isolate for a further eight days. If it wasn’t so important to the health of the country I’d delete the app from my phone. I’m keeping it on in the hope that some of its features actually work as they should..Version: 3.7.1

£36 Million 🤦🏼‍♂️I mean it works okay, has bugs and some thing don’t function properly. But for a £36 million (tax payer’s money) app I expect a lot better and more testing to have been done..Version: 4.1.1

The updateThe app was supposed to update yesterday, this morning I found the update, and updated it, expecting the amount of days on my isolation period to go down. But they didn’t. I am now unsure which day to stop. I got notified to start self-isolating yesterday and it said 11 days left, from which I assume, that three days prior was when I made contact, why did it not tell me to self isolate earlier? I then worked out (by the websites advice) that you go from the last day you made contact (Monday)- this would cause me finish isolating on Christmas Eve. I assumed the app would reflect this after updating but it hasn’t. I am unsure of a reason why. I have looked up on the NHS website but am unsure what to do, especially as, on the day I made contact, I only attended one venue and all cases have to be reported to the school, but the day I got notified there were no new cases reported to the school. I had double checked my app each day and it always said that I wasn’t in isolation. What should I do? Other than this, the app seems okay and easy to use..Version: 4.1

Ok game but would suggest some improvementsI ve given this game 3 stars. It was launched 2 years ago, a number of variants have been released since but I feel the rules are too complicated for players to follow. It seems even the game developers found the rules confusing. I quite liked it when they released the booster feature but in the end it proved to be somewhat of a disappointment- everybody caught Covid with or without the booster feature. I feel the game would be better if there were any routes that did not lead to Covid. With a 99.9% survival rate this game got a bit boring after a while although the myocarditis etc did add some spice. In the end this game mostly isolated me away in my bedroom and it was not that much fun. I feel £37 billion seems like quite a lot of money to plough into this game. I would suggest some improvements if it’s released on PS5..Version: 4.22.3

Battery Drain too HighSee below for my problem. The developer offered no real solution other than a retry of the app. So I did. So far, it is behaving ok. So what went wrong? There is the problem, I just don’t know. What’s different. I did check for conflicts, so I stopped using my fitness watch Bluetooth as I think there may have been a conflict, in as much, that when I wanted to pause the COVID app I did have problems with WiFi and the watch. So, I believe the app gets stuck in a loop trying to restart after the 8 hour pause in tracking. This may have prevented my phone from going into standby mode, just a though. I am using the app scanning into venues and is working well. Also, it has updated and still working ok, so the previous update was not responsible for the previous problem. Had this app installed before the Update App was released. My phones Wi-fi then had problems at home, it kept losing connection with the BT Hub. The phone was fully charged but dropped to 5% capacity within 12 hours. I looked at the battery monitor which showed that the app had been in use 99% of the time during the last 12 hour period, stopping my phone from going into standby mode. I have deleted the app as this is unacceptable. My phone is just over 12 months old - iPhone 7 Plus..Version: 3.6.1

Reality check neededA ‘date of exposure’ is visible in ‘manage my data’. It took me a while to find that. Publicly available information indicates that the app collects the date and time of exposure so why are both not visible to the app user? Here is the dilemma: If the app tells me to isolate because I’ve been exposed on a date when I know I was home alone, why should I comply? And if I can prove that fact, why is there no mechanism for me to do that, to help improve the accuracy of app notifications? And why do the developer responses not actually address the points raised in these reviews? Copying and pasting stock responses is not replying to public feedback. This is clearly damaging confidence in the app as is clear from recent reviews. So, predictably, I received a stock response telling me that if the app tells me to self isolate, I should do so. There is no apparent interest in exploring feedback from users who believe they have been sent false notifications. This might actually improve the accuracy and reliability of the app..Version: 3.10

It’s okI like that I can scan locations in and that it keeps me updated as to the tier of my area. However. I have just received a notification saying i might have been in contact with someone, and then another saying my risk has been assessed and I don’t need to worry. I click on both of those and it takes me to the main page. There is no option to look into these further. It would be easy to accidentally delete these notifications because there doesn’t appear to be any history on the app to refer back to. I’d like to have a record of the notifications and currently that isn’t possible which is the bit I dislike. I’d like to update my review to say that i am still unhappy that although notifications occasionally appear on my screen (although not for a while) there is no record of them in the app. I think it is important there should be. They don’t have to say where, but just the notification history along with the dates would be useful. As otherwise you’re holding my data without allowing me to see it. I shouldn’t have to ask for my data, in a situation like this with covid tracking it should be readily available..Version: 4.1

Suggestions for improvementAppreciate the aim of the app and totally on board with having it. ✨ However can’t get my head around why I receive alerts saying ‘potential COVID exposure’, followed by ‘we’ve checked it out and you’re fine’, then when you click on the alert, there’s no record of the alert on the app and there’s no detail of when/where the exposure supposedly happened. In addition, if there has been a potential exposure but then you’re deemed to be fine literally immediately afterwards, why send the alert and unnecessarily worry someone. I think the app would be really improved with a log of time/date of potential exposures, so it could show people where they’ve been more at risk (esp if it’s regularly in the supermarket say, then they could take extra precautions or even get shops delivered). Confused how this app has 4.6 stars to be honest but hopefully you take the feedback on board..Version: 3.7.1

Worst ever!Yesterday I received a notification saying possible exposure followed by a message telling me self-isolate for 9 days! Now don’t get me wrong if I need to self-isolate I need to self isolate but it doesn’t tell me where the exposure was or what day it was! I was trying to pin point it as I work with vulnerable people in the community and if it was with them then they need to be informed but nothing. Then I was confused about why it was only 9 days so I started to read up about the app like you do... and it says the app will tell you to isolate for 14 days from the day you were exposed to this person that’s tested positive. Ok so firstly why the heck did they wait 5 days before telling me to go into isolation because I have quite literally been here there and everywhere!!! Secondly 5 days ago (Thursday) I was in hospital and I rang them to find out if it was them and they said no! So I didn’t go out on the Wednesday or the Friday so when did this exposure happen because the time I’ve got to self isolate with the 14 days period doesn’t add up!.Version: 3.7

App has been rushed and doesn’t updateI downloaded this app as advised and to use as an extra precaution to protect my family. The app is simple to install and set up. Whilst having the app tracking and updating i had tested positive for covid-19. The app had already known I’d tested positive and told me to isolate until a certain date which I thought was good. I then changed phones a few days into isolation but when I had to down load the app again it didn’t update the test result it actually said I was still green (scanner turns red if covid positive). My partner had also downloaded the app and not once did it mention that he had been in close contact with a positive case of covid which I find quite worrying as we live in the same house and sleep in the same bed etc snd not once has his app updated so you do really have to question the reliability of the test. It is however handy to have a the check in feature makes it easy to check in to certain places. All in all easy app to use but the reliability leaves a lot of unanswered questions. After recurring feedback from the developer I would just like to say the this App does not work as I was the positive COVID-19 case described above. You say the soo notifies people. IT DOES NOT in the whole 10 days if mine and 14 days of my partners isolation at no point was my partner notified that he has been in contact with a positive case that case being me his partner..Version: 3.7.1
