The NHS COVID-19 app features:
Alerts: Find out when you’ve been near other app users who have since tested positive for COVID-19.
Latest information: Find out the latest COVID-19 guidance and know the level of COVID-19 risk in your local area.
Symptoms: Check if you have COVID-19 symptoms and follow the latest guidance.
Test: Enter any positive test result (NHS or paid-for) to anonymously notify other app users who were near you that they might be at risk. You'll also get the latest health advice.
Available in English, Welsh, Arabic (Modern Standard), Bengali, Chinese (Simplified), Gujarati, Polish, Punjabi (Gurmukhi script), Romanian, Somali, Turkish and Urdu.
The app can be used when travelling across England, Wales, Jersey and Gibraltar, detecting contact tracing app users (regardless of them using different official apps), and alerting them if they have been in contact with someone who later reported a positive test result in the app.
The app has been built in collaboration with some of the most innovative organisations in the world. We have worked with medical experts, privacy groups, at-risk communities and we’ve shared knowledge with the teams working on similar apps in many countries.
The app is UKCA marked as Class I medical device in the United Kingdom and developed in compliance with Medical Devices Regulations 2002 (SI 2002 No 618, as amended).

✓ Released Today | Excellent | England and WalesIgnore all the one star reviews from people who did not understand this app was not generally released in England and Wales until today (24 Sept 2020). Everyone should install it in my humble opinion to help do whatever we can to reduce spread of Covid-19, especially to those who are most vulnerable. All data is anonymous, not collected (only stays on own iPhone) and can be deleted by the user at any time. The app uses the Apple / Google API per many other countries’ equivalent apps. Developers / NHS: Please update it to remove the question about “are you over 16?”. Teenagers are more than capable of responsibly installing and running this app too. EVERYONE with an iPhone on iOS 13.5 (May 2020) or newer should run this. I am not in any way affiliated, nor know anyone who is. Installing this can significantly help, but only if enough people do so..Version: 3.6.1

✗ Won’t work on my iphoneUploaded the app (not happy about details being stored for up to 20 years but hey ho) only for it to say ‘unfortunately you can’t run this app’. It states this is due to it being either a company phone (it’s not) or another app collecting the same data is on my phone preventing this app from running (there’s not another app doing this on my phone). *Update* - had a very strange email response today from Apple all about data protection re:my review above (even though the bulk was around their app not running!). Would rather have had helpful info as to ‘how’ to sort out the reason why this app won’t install than a data protection less lesson. I did raise a surprised eyebrow though when the email contained this line ‘the app cannot track your location’. Really? I thought that was the whole point? Otherwise how does it know i’ve been beside a positive person if it doesn’t even know where i nam/have been? Am still none the wiser as to how to get this app to run on my iphone........Version: 3.6.1
