✓ The app I’ve been waiting for!!After trading on both Binance and Coinbase (gdax) and having problems with both apps (including receiving a CP2000 from the IRS due to Coinbase carelessly sending gross proceeds from all transactions I’ve made 😡 instead of just the gains), I am so thrilled to have my crypto account with River. They operate like a financial institution and the company provides retail investors with a high-touch platform and the customer care to buy and sell Bitcoin. ✓ I love their app and websiteThey’ve done a great job at making DCA’ing into bitcoin very easy. There is no fee after 1 week of a reoccurring order, which is nice. However, you’re limited to 3 reoccurring orders at a time, which is kinda annoying. Their fees for spot buying and selling are relatively low I think it’s like 1.2% or something for orders less than 250,009, which is still probably competitive for an exchange. Their spread is quite high meaning their price is always higher than the actual current spot market, but in the long term if you’re DCA’ing imo it’s better to have the free fee if you’re doing a large amount of orders..Version: 3.7.12

✓ Extremely disappointedA few months ago I opened an account through the River app. I did it the day I found out I could in my state. After a few months, I received an email from River stating my account was closed. I never received any details regarding why my account was closed. Was it my bad credit history??? Was it a criminal offense from 20 years ago??? No details. I’m a hard working Union Laborer, completely legit family man. I have bank accounts and retirement accounts with legit financial institutions. So I’m still puzzled as to why this happened. I thought that River was a legit legal company who is focused on Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining and focused on the Bitcoin ethos. I guess I was wrong, I feel like all the podcasts I’ve heard the CEO on are full of crap with the things they speak about. It seems to me they are not a truly “Bitcoin ethos” company. It would of been great to be able to use one app for Bitcoin investing and mining. Hopefully this isn’t just another company building a new version of traditional banking..Version: 2.8.4
✓ Best experience for buying BitcoinThis is hands-down the best way to purchase Bitcoin. The UI is clear, simple, elegant, and intuitive. You don’t get confused by the listings of multiple coins, or have to toggle between buying bitcoin and other assets like stocks in other apps. For buying bitcoin, this is the way to go. I also love the prominent customer support feature right at the bottom, where you can get in touch with the River team easily. You can do a one time purchase or set up a recurring buy. ✓ Great app for buying bitcoinThe interface is super clean and easy to navigate and the fees are very low for purchasing. Plus the price given tends to be VERY close to the actual market price and generally better than what you can find on Cash app or Strike. My only complaint is they don’t allow me to set the bitcoin mining fee on withdrawal of “on chain” Bitcoin. However they do have Lightning for receiving and sending which has almost zero fees. Definitely a solid option and one of the best I’ve used and I have tested quite a few. It also is available for Hawaii residence which is a plus!.Version: 2.6.7

They seem to put a lot of effort into their iOS app, and I think they have the best widgets for monitoring the price. Also, their web version is great, and it helps you get a snapshot of your cost basis and an easy to export way so you can move between Web and mobile, which I really appreciate.
