✓ The tool is less important than how you use itI've been an OF user for years now and I've fell in and out of love with OF3 many times. What matters is that an app is flexible and powerful enough to do what I want.That's where OF3, and now 4 shine. OF4 is still buggy, but it is getting there..Version: 4.0.2
✓ Updated PerspectivesI am so happy to see the new options for filters in OmniFocus 4.2 they came at the perfect time. There were many things with filtering single projects, repeating tasks and especially has date in range to be able to see just what I am looking for today and the next week. OmniFocus is nearly where I have wanted it for so many years. I still wish I could customize the colors again, they removed it from version one brought it back sort of years after the release in version 2 and I have missed it with only light and dark modes. I wish I could export and archive my perspectives, could set filters for projects, tags, and perspectives that I never want to show up as options for the quick open dialog. I am so glad to have that on iOS finally in version four. That ilimitates thankfully the need for so many of my perspectives because drilling into tags was always a pain on iOS. Keep up the great work OmniFocus your work is appreceated and noticed!!.Version: 4.2
✓ Big improvementAfter spending (a lot) more time with v4 , I’m raising my rating. Both iOS versions are actually a big improvement over v3, with lots of useful layout options now. The changes are pretty drastic, so be prepared to put in some time. But it’s definitely worth persisting. I’m not as happy with v4 Mac yet - but hopefully that will get better..Version: 4.0.4
✓ It's a good upgradeI have been an Omnifocus user for many years. The version 4 upgrade is not what I had hoped it would be, but there are some nice features and the experience is similar across the Mac and the iPhone. I am looking forward to more development of the app, improving on some things that still need a little work, but in the meantime I am glad I upgraded to version 4 because it does work well for me..Version: 4.0.5
✓ Best version of OmniFocus yet!I’ve been a fan of the philosophy of GTD, and a user of OmniFocus for many years. Although I considered the original interface to have a bit of a learning curve and be a little clunky, I was able to get up to speed with it and use it to effectively organize my tasks. With this new upgrade, I am absolutely please with the ease of use and effectiveness of the new interface. I especially love the uniform interface between the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Bravo to the developers of this new version. It is well worth the cost if you are upgrading all your platforms from the previous version, or if you are a new first time user..Version: 4.0.5
✓ The best gets betterOmniFocus 4 is a major redesign - particularly on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS (which gets a dramatic makeover here!). The flow and design on these platforms are great, and you can enter information about your tasks and any metadata with ease while on the go. The Mac, of course, got a big upgrade too. All platforms now look the same so you can create, edit, complete, and view your tasks no matter which device you're on. The visual clarity and thoughtful features like Review, Deferral, Perspectives, and Nearby mean that your can Get Things Done no matter where you are. Check this out, because it's the king of task managers, and can grow as your needs do. Congrats to the Omni Group on a thoughtful release!.Version: 4.0

✓ I am changing my ratingChanging my rating!!! “I had gotten the free two week trial, but it is impossible to find a place to cancel the App so that I am not charged. “ Sent them a note on this and they immediately got back to me. So sweet. Unlike most App’s that start charging you immediately after your trial expires and you failed to cancel in time, these people don’t. It just reverts back to the “free” section. NOW THAT IS GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! And a good policy. They must be a good company. I have found I just don’t have that many “to do’s” to use such a detailed App. This would be good for an executive or some one with lots of to do’s in different areas. ✓ Gilding the LilyThis was—and still is— a great app. Already the best in its class, it didn't need improvement . . . and it didn't change much in the update to version 4. That's why the $75 upgrade price strikes me as way too high. The iPhone app got all the benefit of the update, and for people who live out of their phone the extra $$$ may be worth it. Previously, I preferred the Mac interface over the iOS/iPadOS interfaces but using the mobile devices more I worked with that interface most often. ✓ Best productivity app in existenceI’ve used OmniFocus for seven years and it has become an integrated part of my life. I’ve tried every single other app out there, and nothing compares. OmniFocus 4 has massive improvements over 3, mainly around iOS, and the watch app. The improvements who have been completely amazing. But in terms of the Mac app, that also is greatly improved with better UI and more functionality around perspectives and lots of other things. ✓ I returned to Omnifocus after a whileI used Omnifocus 2 for a few years. Then I left and tried Todoist, Things 3, and Apple Reminders. With Omnifocus, I decided to return and give it another try. I'm really enjoying it. The key for me is to not feel like I need to use every single feature, but just focus only on the features that work for my workflow. ✓ Best of the bestThis is not an upgrade. It feels like a brand new Application. Designed with the simplicity of things with the utter sophistication of Omni focus. Fast across all the platforms and definitely not clunky. I will never switch from this app. The previous version pales in comparison. It was clunky and content intuitive and required too many steps for simple actions. Those steps are gone. It was definitely worth the wait and if you were the ones who complained about them rewriting a new app from the ground up well the delay was worth it. ✓ Excellent app for organising tasksOmniFocus is a great app for organising tasks which are more complex than just a simple ToDo list can cope with. It supports multiple tags and a universal app, so buy once and use on phone / mac / ipad. (Prior versions required two purchases.) The data can be kept local and will not be data-mined. I really like the Omnigroup and the software they have put out into the world. I have had a few hiccups with updating to Omnifocus 4, but as with any newly updated software, there can be little kinks to work out. ✓ Premium GoldNow retired, I have experienced a lifetime of concepts and processes on doing something (which I did). I used Omnifocus 1 and 2 for a few years but in the nature of my work they were more overhead than impact so I switched to another thing for near a decade. Now I have far more and varied projects and routine things to do so I tried v4. It is sweet. The power was always there and the useability is greatly improved on what I recall. I also like the E2E encryption that many other products do not offer. My view is that if you are employed or in business, get Pro. If you are not then think seriously about affording Pro, not because standard is not good but because perspectives in Pro lend still more strength. Plan your own self-organisation and be willing to strip back or change to suit yourself. OF4 will support it..Version: 4.2.1
✓ I Don’t Understand The Negative Reviews!On all devices, this works perfectly for me. Per.fect.ly! Having been on the beta, I’m fairly competent at using the app. I don’t know individual contexts with things like: - Available Storage Space - Device Age - Internet Connection Speed And all other variables you can possibly think of that can affect the app in the way reviewers report. It’s always easy to blame others! What I do know is: it’s often true that many people don’t always look at ‘How To’s’ or User Guides etc. before they jump in and slam an app. I happily get mad at bad apps, poor management etc. This app had something like a 2-3 year beta and to my mind, it’s a big jump forward. Personally, I like the UI a lot more than 3.0, I find the viewing options intuitive, never have sync issues, so.. yeah! OmniFocus is the coolest functional, UI, performance ‘GTD’ App on the market, currently. The folks there ALWAYS reply to support emails - ALWAYS. I don’t believe they didn’t reply, check sent msgs. As for statements like: ‘Hatefully’, ‘Complete Downgrade’, or ‘Hard Avoid!!!’ (That’s some real stupid buzz wordy fool talk, right there!!!) - it’s utter silliness, work with the app, learn it, check ur kit! Honestly, if you are considering buying this app, do it with confidence. It does NOT deserve the poor ratings you see here. Folks need to hold back on hateful talk & spiteful buzz talk etc.! Go, Omni, I’m 100% behind all of the great apps and hard work you all put in to my favourite Creativity, GTD and (OO) Writing Bazaar! All the best..Version: 4.2
✓ Like the upgrade...So I've been using Omnifocus since version 2, and I did kind of step away from version 3. I thought I would see how 4 is going. I do like it, however- with out my background in Omni, I wonder how I would figure it out. Some of the ios U/I is a little non-intuitive. I find myself wanting to click on things to bring about a next interface move, that doesn't happen. But all in all- I compared it to my old v. 3 and I really do like the upgrade. I'm having fun using Omni. There's just something about it that clicks in your brain, and makes sense (maybe the GTD?), that sets it apart from Todoist and Things. I get so bored with those other apps. Especially Things. Omnifocus 4 is making me excited to work right now..Version: 4.2.1

✓ Since the beginnningI've been an Omnifocus user since the beginning, and even before (if you count the Kinkless GTD script!). I've strayed a few times but never for long. This release shows why. It's snappier, more intuitive, better designed, and the iOS is finally just as useful as the MacOS app. So much thought goes into OF to make incredibly powerful and flexible, meeting any user's needs. At this point I've got a hardcoded workflow that only works in Omnifocus, and that is just fine. It's a joy to use and nothing else helps me clear my head and get my work done..Version: 4.0.1

OF4 takes what was a very good tool and makes it excellent- I cannot imagine my workflow without this app. It is also the opposite of so many digital products today: no forced subscriptions (which end up much more expensive long term), users are treated as intelligent actors, constant improvements and transparency about them, and near-endless customisation options. The overall experience is aesthetically enjoyable and powerful. ✓ IndispensibleI've tried virtually every task manager for mac over the years but this is the one I keep coming back to and stayed with. it is unbelievably good and flexible particularly, with the ability to set up customised perspectives and the control over what you want to see and prioritise. I couldn't run my practice without it and V 4 is even better. it is easily my favourite and the most important piece of software that I use in life and work and nothing on the market could replace it. I think any task manager works when you have a relatively small number of tasks but Omnifocus really shines where you have hundreds to thousands of competing tasks along with GTD.Version: 4.0.1
✓ So far so goodI've used OF3 for a few years, going between Todoist and OmniFocus. The update to version 4 compelled me to give it another try. I find that OmniFocus works better with my way of working, where everything goes into the inbox quickly before being processed "in batch" (whenever I get ~5 minutes of free time). The updated way of tagging and the small UI updates are welcome. The killer features for me are the "review" tab and the custom perspectives. Being able to customize the frequency of review and have a "work" and "non-work" mode is phenomenal. From my way of working, OF4 provides only small updates vs. OF3, but the ability to pay once makes it very cost effective. The upgrade makes the review and inbox processing process much easier on the iPhone/iPad, so overall it's a win..Version: 4.0.3
