✓ A fantastic port of one of the greatest games ever*UPDATED section for 1.1.1* This version is absolutely spectacular! For the first time ever, I really feel like I could feasibly play on iPad without the keyboard. The panning and zooming are just fantastic. I now prefer playing on iPad to playing on my laptop, just because it’s so much easier to look around on iPad now. Amazing work. Can’t wait to see what’s next! *Original review* If you’re here reading these reviews, chances are you already know what CDDA is, so I won’t waste your time talking about the game. What needs to be lauded is the developer’s quiet inclusion of Files support in his port to iOS. Do you play on PC already? Do you have a favorite tileset, soundpack, or mod? Use the Files app by itself or in conjunction with iCloud Drive to install those favorite things right into CDDAs usual file structure. It’s all visible right there in Apple’s Files app. BRAVO! I’m playing with @‘s soundpack and MSXUndeadPeople on my iPad! This is ridiculous, and I love it. iPad users would do well to get themselves a Bluetooth keyboard with a numeric keypad. I had one laying around, and now I’m playing CDDA on my iPad in exactly the same way I would be playing on my PC - but with the convenience and portability of a tablet. Man, it’s great! Developer is active on r/CataclysmDDA, and has a clear love for the game. I can’t wait until he comes up with a way for us to reward him for his hard work. Thank you!!.Version: 1.1.1
✓ *Update* Fantastic port of CataclysmDDA.*UPDATE* You can even install mods, sound packs, tile sets, and more from GitHub then going into the files app. First off I’d like to thank you so much for porting an updated version of the game, I used to play the old mobile port of this game so it’s like I’m playing a completely new game. So many new features to delve into so far I’ve already found a crashed Apache and now am searching for tools to dismount the mini gun that happened to survive the crash so I can mount it to my semi truck I got lucky to find the same day. Runs amazing on the iPad Pro. I’d love to see sound added in a premium version that also removes the banner..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Could you add something?Just like the other game, could you add the feature where you can go down stairs using a button + Swipe up with two fingers to bring all the buttons for the controls? This will be quite beneficial to me, as playing the game is quite hard and slow. Could there also be more optional buttons at the bottom of the screen that can be used for other keybinds, because I don't want to use just the keyboard, and want to instantly press important things I need. Thanks! [EDIT] Thank you for responding. I've also got two more ideas. One of them is the NPC spawn rate. I put it to the highest value as none of them spawned, or at least, not in my location or anywhere near. Would it be possible to have NPC's spawn in a much easier location to see them, or maybe have them to spawn instantly? The second idea is to have the button trancparency be changed. It can be hard to see the controler sometimes in a few locations. Actually, could you also add a way to maybe add mods, or unless there is a way to add mods myself. Thanks! ... I'm enjoying the game so much, including the story. I'm not that good of a player, but having to learn and play along the way really makes it fun, and this game does just that. So, thanks again for having the updated version of CDDA in the Appstore. Building camps and having extensive options of improving/upgrading your camp is exciting and fun, including crafting all sorts of items and vehicles. [EDIT] Even with the internet on, banners/ads no longer appear. Also, the game crashes with the NPC spawn rate maxed out, even thougn seemingly with no NPC's actually spawning near me. If I do see an NPC, I'd have to walk quite far, but in that case I'd only see NPC's rarely. With the debug "Hammerspace", you can't craft certain items in higher levels, as it will say "You no longer have a none...". Could this be fixed, please? Thanks. [EDIT] For people who read this and other comments. There is now a backtab (mutie204) + there might be new UI which should make the controls and gameplay a lot easier and more quick to do certain commands. Is it possible to edit the game or only the things you created (e.g. UI), or you can't edit the game as it will be different from the computer version of the game?.Version: 1.0.2

✓ Some ProblemsGlad to see the latest version of this game ported to iOS! However there are still some problems. A problem I encountered was that I couldn’t scroll through vehicle parts when examining a vehicle. There appear to be keybindings, but even after changing them I still couldn’t scroll through the parts list, making it hard to replace vehicle parts. I’m not sure if this is a problem with the game or the port but I don’t recall having this problem on PC..Version: 1.2.1

✓ Excellent PortExcellent port, stoked that the latest stable has been ported at long last... game is essentially the same as the PC version, with some added touch buttons. For fans of the turn-based rogue like genre, you can’t go wrong with this. I’d like to see the undeadpeople tileset added, although there’s a way to do it through copying folders through iTunes, so not completely necessary. Overall, I’m happy with this port. ✓ I rarely write reviews, but this is worth it.Cataclysm DDA is one of my favorite games all-time, and this is a much welcomed port. While the UI isn’t the easiest to use, I feel that’s more a symptom of the complex controls of the game rather than anything else. With some practice, you can play more than smoothly enough for an enjoyable experience. I’ve had the other IOS port installed on my phone for a long time, but I very rarely opened it. The game version on that one is incredibly out of date, and the UI is far more difficult to use than this one. No disrespect to the developer of the other port, I’m incredibly grateful they decided to upload it even with all the associated fees and troubles of the IOS App Store, but this one is leagues above the old one. While I have yet to do so, the fact that you can install mods and tilesets and such is an incredible feature. While CDDA is a fun game on its own, to me it’s draw comes from the plethora of modded content that provides even more replayability than the base game already offers. I’m surprised I haven’t seen more people talking about this wonderful port. If I weren’t lucky, who knows how long it would have taken me to find this? For those of you reading this who might be unfamiliar with CDDA itself, I cannot recommend it enough. It has a very steep learning curve, and the graphics are someone distracting to the uninitiated, but it is really an incredible game worth every second you’ll put into it. And believe me, you’ll put quite a few in. To the developer, thank you for putting your time into developing this port. While I’m pretty sure it’s against TOS for you to post a donation link on the App Store, is there any sort of profile of yours I could find that might just so happen to have a link for donations?? ✓ Awesome port, but it has a couple of issues.When holding down the movement arrows in one direction, the movement is not continuous and stops every fee frames. This is not a hardware speed issue, as tapping repeatedly works faster and smoothly. For some reason, it works fine on my ipad and my brother’s iphone 8, but when i use my iphone 8, the initial menu is a black screen. The controls work, i can move and open them, but i cant see what im doing, and even when i open them, they are too zoomed in. Also, it is slightly prone to crash for some reason. ✓ Gladly paid for this portYes there is a free version in the App Store but this version is very usable. This was my first time playing this game ever, and after a couple failed characters I made it 21 days before a Dissoluted Devourer outran me (seems wrong). Anyhow I just paid for 0.F, gladly, and will enjoy the newer version. I’m hoping the new version improves the interface a little. I need to be able to create custom shortcut buttons because I’m constantly toggling between keyboard and full screen. Also on iPhone 8 screen size some of the text is truncated off the bottom of the screen, like I can only see monsters listed that are north of me..Version: 1.2.4
