✓ Don’t get me wrong I like this appIt’s a really good app and I moved from ai dungeon to here. One of my main problems, however, is how it seems obviously used for fanfiction. For example if I try to make a story about a character named Finn it will turn it into a Star Wars fanfiction. If possible there should be a switch that turns some sort of “fanfiction mode” on/off. Also why does it always say that it has pasted things when I enter the app? I’m just a bit suspicious but it’s probably nothing.Version: 1.5.0
✓ It’s alright, but I remember the AI being better.I haven’t used the app in a while, but recently started (trying) to use it again. For some reason the AI seems weird. The grammar is wrong, the AI rarely takes past sentences into account, and the stories have become uninteresting. I’ve written legit most of it because the generated responses were generic or made no sense. I remember being able to make long stories on the generated responses alone, with very little prompting on my end. Maybe it’s just me, but eh. I used to be obsessed with dreamily, but I’m not really a fan of the new update. I miss the old interface, and the create a world button thing taking up a fifth of the page is very annoying..Version: 2.4.1
✓ Great game but new bugIt’s an amazing app, I love it a lot, but recently there’s a bug. I’ve tried restarting my phone, deleting the app and reinstalling it, trying new characters, trying different accounts, but nothing works. For some reason, whenever I message a character, they completely ignore my message and go on about something else. I started to notice this when the whole alpha testing was going on, but idk if it’s connected. Please fix it, otherwise half of the app to me is pointless. I’m giving three stars because it’s an amazing app, it’s just the bug.Version: 2.1.0
✓ Don’t want to payI’ve had this app for a while now and now it is asking me to pay for something that I am not even monetizing. I like it better when the app allowed me to write as much as I wanted without any limits. Dreamily is supposed to be a place where FanFiction writers can write freely but now they are asking us to pay to continue writing. I’m not paying money for something like that and I really want dreamily to take that back. If you are going to make an app that allows people to write FanFiction than you need to make the app free. No one is going to want to use the app anymore if you do something like this and your gonna lose more money by doing so. So if I were you, I would let it be free again and not waste anyone’s time or money..Version: 2.4.1
✓ Love it but can’t payI seriously loved this app but then it stopped letting me do stuff for free and asked me to pay for the stuff I had been doing for free. This is the problem with Ai stuff similar to this, when you use it enough it makes you pay to continue. I understand the the developers need money but I was really enjoying the app but I can’t pay to use it. Very disappointed that I have to stop playing because of this.Version: 2.1.0
✓ Used to be GoodI'm not going to get into too much detail, but according to apple, I set up an account using my id to sign up since 2022. I haven't used dreamily in a while because the new updates have been severely disappointing, but I had an account with tons of stories I made when it was still decent in my eyes. I try to log in with my apple ID and it makes a whole new account. I'm devastated that after all that effort I put into my stories, they're all gone..Version: 2.7.3
✓ Data leaking?Be careful while you are using this app. I was researching about the app due to like it’s too good to be true and what did I find? I heard that our own data can be leaked. Like our health, date and time, website we’ve searched for. In every device we use, it collects data from us. Here is what I gather online. (They are not my words but their own) Dreamily is NOT free, your personal information is the price. Dreamily is NOT against censorship and could become Latitude 2 eclectic boogaloo at any moment. Today there has been several posts on this subreddit recommending Dreamily getting hundreds of upvotes claiming it was a good free alternative to AID. I too was exited by the great understanding of fanfiction it displayed when I tried it. However after some research into the product and the company behind it I have become concerned. First red flag. According to this sites TOS they are a Chinese company called ColorfulClouds Tech. They also state they are not responsible if users information gets leaked. "Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, the transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk." Getting Latitude flashbacks or just me? Second Red Flag. They admit to collecting a lot of your information. "When you use the Website or App's network services, we collect the data such as information about your computer, phone, tablet, or other devices you use to access the Services. Depending on the device used, this data may include but not limited to information such as your health data, language used, date and time of access, hardware, and software characteristics, and records of web pages you have requested." Further down they also say "If you are accessing our Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed by us in our facilities and by those third parties with whom we may share your personal information, in the United States, and other countries. In addition, we enabled the cloud server and the necessary information will be sent to Google." I hope nobody has been using this for NSFW because I cant think of any reason to collect all this information except to sell, after all how else could they paying for this AI? This business practice is something users of another one of their apps has complained about here is "Jake's" review of colorfulclouds weather app. "Quite a pretty app, but the permissions are very concerning. The rather lengthy privacy-policy, poorly Google-Translated from Chinese, suggests that they request so many unrelated permisions all for their financial benefit. At least, it's incredibly concerning, and you should hold off even installing until the developer addresses why they need your contacts, phone number, and files, TO SHOW THE WEATHER. ✓ Its nice but..!I love dreamily. I’ve used it for a while and it’s just so fun to have help creating fun little stories. But i have a complaint. I used to be able to write whenever, and it didn’t have any limit! I never paid for anything. It was so nice and i love using it when i’m bored.. but now it’s not been that fun to use due to the weird limit. I used it only once today because i haven't used it in a couple weeks and now all of a sudden it keeps showing the premium/buy option and i can’t write anything. I’m pretty upset.. im starting to not use the app. I understand you need the money but a few ads and an exit button with the pop up, instead of not letting us not use it for a while with a limit is not fun and that’s how you lose viewers/downloads. 😅 i still respect the app and enjoy it, just not the limit. <3.Version: 2.5.0
✓ Fall from graceDreamily is an AI that is fundamentally basic, which is fine, AI needs thing gas to learn from and it needs context, so seeing the AI in such a basic state is okay, but it’s not okay to monetise and restrict the learning of the AI, it’s very weak in comparison to other story AI (Character AI and AI dungeon are comparatively much better) and the things that it offers are too weak and don’t have the backing of a good AI behind them. Yet another AI app falling into subscription services, and not a particularly good one in the first place..Version: 2.4.1
✓ It’s okay, but could use adjustmentsOkay, so I actually quite like this app, but there are many things that I don’t like, such as the word limit. I feel like the word limit is unnecessary. Paid features could be chatting/calling that AIs and sharing worlds, but not words. There should also be a report button for the world sharing feature, since some worlds that are shared include very, very gross (and sometimes illegal) things. The app also crashes every time I try to use the expand feature in the app, and the AI often tries to make characters related or dating when in the world, it’s stated that the characters aren’t dating or related. Sometimes it also gets the character details wrong, even though they’re written down in the character description. And I also don’t understand what ‘power’ is for in the app. What I do like about the app is the text enhancement features (expand, condense, re-write, etc.); these features have greatly increased the quality of my stories. The ability to establish relationships with the characters in the world is also incredibly useful, and the AI assistant is wonderful to have, especially as an un-paid feature..Version: 2.7.3
✓ Loved it once, no so much anymoreI’ve been using Dreamily for a while now, and it was easy to see in how I had multiple words running and even more stories. One day I logged in to look at the stories I had created the day prior. I discovered that not only were my worlds gone without a trace, but so were my stories. It was like I had a brand new account. This infuriated me and I haven’t really used this app since. My recommendation? Save everything you write or generate on a separate writing app. The stories that you can create on this app are worth saving..Version: 2.8.3
✓ Was awesome, becoming a cash grabIt was a great free alternative for a writing app that has great features, but all good and free things come to an end. Soon we will have to pay for the same features we currently use free. I get devs need money, but don’t market something as free, then turn on your word as soon as you amass a following. That’s why SoundCloud died. We have free prompts with no limits, that they decided to cap and hide behind a paywall. Poor move guys. ✓ Dreamily glitching and acting weird.Hello, I’ve came to write this review because I have payed tons of money for this ai to be broken now. Dreamily ai’s haven’t been perfect and that’s okay I don’t expect them to be. Lately the bots will almost never pay attention to what you have to say, They’ll role play your character and adjust it to whatever they want to say and it’s just glitched. Most times they won’t even really respond to what you do. It wasn’t always like this and it used to be a bit more responsive to your actions and not roleplay your character or glitch out as much. The ai was never completely perfect but this is really bugging me because it’s getting in the way of some nice roleplays. And figuring I’ve payed money for this app, Please resolve this problem asap! ✓ It's good, but...I find it rather weird that despite being a supposed app made by a Chinese company, it, or dreamily does not generate anything after you write something in Korean, Mandarin, Japanese, and probably other languages too. That makes it very hard to write in my opinion. This Dreamily AI also really loves to make its way around LGBTQ subjects, and though I've found a way to make it work, it is FRUSTRATING. There are still a lot of things to work on with the app, like how dreamily cannot comprehend what happened the last five sentences ago or how it generates entirely different stuff from the paragraphs already written. Besides these things, it is a good app, I just hope you can fix these things. Please and thank you..Version: 2.1.0
✓ Poor managementIt's clear that the devs have gotten a bit too ambitious with the budget that they have. The addition of pretty useless features such as the character chat/call and discover (full of low effort worlds) have likely led to the horrible word limit and the degradation of the overall ai quality. It's unbelievable that the devs would prioritize keeping useless features instead of improving on their main attraction: the ai. I wouldn't even be surprised if at some point, they decided to shut down their service due to poor management of their money and resources 😊.Version: 2.5.0
✓ Where did my stuff go !!!I like this app and it is very helpful and i was just about to write a good review, but i logged back in and all my stuff is gone!! It says i have no worlds or stories but i do and they’re gone! I didn’t have much on here but it is unfortunate the stuff i did have is gone. I mean what if i had an entire story on there? ✓ One problemDon’t get me wrong, everything else about this app is great, it’s just that for longer stories (anything over 50,000 characters), it can seriously impact the performance of it (a 1-2 second delay to everything). Maybe there’s a way to possibly load only a few thousand character at a time to reduce slowdown? It’s the only thing that majorly impacts my experience with the app..Version: 1.2.1
✓ More updates, more restrictionsAt first I really liked dreamily because I could write stories and use the AI to fill in what I was too lazy to write or just create stories for my own entertainment out of boredom but paying for the amount of words? Cmon dreamily, paying the Ai chat should’ve been enough and you could’ve added a paywall to sharing worlds or something (maybe it would prevent the mass amounts of minor nsfw being posted), also add a report button! I think that’s a pretty basic feature for a social app, it boggles me that it wasn’t included since the beginning. Adding more paywalls is going to drive a lot of the regular dreamily users away, I would hope they would at least get rid of the word limit.Version: 2.4.1
✓ Once great app turned midDuring Dreamily's beta stage, it was just an AI writing tool. No account needed, no quota, no Character AI feature. It should have stayed that way. But instead, the developers continuously added features that made the app worse. The AI got worse, with it outputting sentences or anything nonsensical that don't relate to the context of what the user has written. There are more bugs such as: - stories being randomly deleted - the Undo button malfunctioning (words and letters get mixed up). - Stories not showing up in the user's menu The quota is also stupid, with there being a daily AND monthly quota. I get that AI is expensive and the devs need to pay the bills somehow, but they could have just gone with daily quota or put banner ads and users would be okay with that. But having a monthly quota would just literally make the app unusable for a few days or weeks, depending on how much you use the app. Sure, they give you a free daily recap of 500 words to use in your stories, but it's not enough given how terrible the AI is. ✓ Make it free when?I been using this app for a while and I really enjoy it but I hate how we have to stop at 100k why can’t it be like 2m or a bit higher? For people who doesn’t spend money? I really enjoy how free it was, but now I have to wait for days just to continue my story while the old update I could just stop what I was doing make a new one. Maybe add the cap limit a bit higher than 100k because I can use all of that in one siting like give use like 1m 5m of words than using having to white all because our words limit is 100k or go back making it completely free..Version: 2.5.0
✓ Lost all my storiesIt was a good app and I enjoyed it for a year. But upon returning to the recent update, all my data was deleted and my account was started over. I was really disappointed because despite the help from the ai, most of the time I wrote a majority of my stories all on my own.
