✓ If the black side bars truly bother you, then download this app.This app is not a magic fix for the Ipad’s display issues. That does not mean that it is poorly designed like I’ve seen said in some of the other reviews. It is a fantastic attempt to remove those ugly black bars at the sides of your shiny new monitor, and really the only successful one out there. What you need to understand before downloading this app is that it is a completely separate application of its own. When you open it, it acts independently of the iPads own apps. Shiftscreen has its own independent browser, its own Google docs (which can also be accessed online), it’s own Google meets, its own calculator, its own calendar, and a few other things within the app itself. The option that brings the greatest freedom is the web browser, which can be used to access a majority of what you can’t, within the Shiftscreen app itself..Version: 1.0
✓ Great appThe first version was fine but had to look at the iPad too much this one is so much better. If you look at the roadmap in settings it said those things would be done by end of 2021 and being 2022 I’m a little disappointed there’s no changes but I hope the developer can get the out by the end of this year..Version: 1.0

✓ It’s fine but there are rooms for improvementThis is much better than the older app. There are still some bugs, for example the trackpad gets so buggy in some websites and keeps freezing. Also the price is a bit high specially for those who had already paid for the older version..Version: 1.0
✓ Innovative Window-DraggingThe window management in Shiftscreen by Yannik Schroeder is brilliant. Tap anywhere in the UI bar, hold and drag, and the window moves. An excellent solution to diminishing draggable space in modern UI windows..Version: 1.0
✓ So Much Potential, But Great SoftwareThis is a great concept, and I applaud the developer for creating this before a trillion dollar company could (Apple.) Unfortunately Most of these apps are worthless to me. I would love to use the internet browser more often, but its too cumbersome to use. I give it 4 stars for the effort..Version: 1.0

✓ Very clever but totally misleadingThe 3rd app slide advertising this states… “Use your monitor in full screen” Which is precisely what I wanted… I need to use pages full screen and photos on Mum ipad however… This only allows web based apps… NOT any apps on your ipad. Very misleading… useless basically for me… I’ve given it 4 stars for ingenuity but I’m guessing half the purchasers have higher expectation than what they’ll have delivered by what is inferred… Thought it was too good to be true… and it is LOL! Most ratings seem overly harsh for the wrong reasons IMHO though… suggest clearer description to set the right expectation from this app… unless intentionally sucking people in deceptively is the plan?.Version: 1.0

✓ What’s a Computer?My old MacBook is on it’s way out, I really don’t feel like shelling out another $1,300+ for a MacBook Pro on top of the money I spent recently on an iPad. I started to toy with the idea of trying to use my iPad full time and completely nix the need for a laptop or desk top, but quickly found that plugging my iPad into an external monitor is a horrible experience (black bars ugh). With some digging I found this awesome app. It allows me to do day to day tasks (bill paying, tracking finances, quick web searches and shopping) on a bigger screen, and with the option to have multiple windows open at once. The Notion app being build in is also a massive plus. Link up a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you’re cooking with gas. Complete game changer!! What this app won’t do is run photo editing apps, video editing apps, etc but 1. That’s not advertised and 2. I bought an iPad so I could use creativity apps with the touch screen. Screenshift is exactly what I want it to be, a bridge between my iPad and my occasional need for a computer. The price tag of $8 is a no brainer as it’s likely going to save me the need to spend $1,300+ on a computer..Version: 1.0

✓ Makes the iPad Pro, more ProI love it! It allows me to see stuff on a screen bigger than my 11 inch screen. The only complaint I have is its missing Microsoft office integration and iWork integration. But its such a great app it deserves 5 stars!.Version: 1.0
✓ A really good app but…This app is pretty solid but I think it would be super helpful if there was a feature where you could hide the app on the side (while multitasking) whilst still projecting to the monitor. That way you can use your iPad as usual whilst also having the desktop experience..Version: 1.0
✓ A great tool for some people, but not everyoneThis version is a lot better than the previous one and gives me hope about what is coming down the pipeline. It has its bug, glitches and limitations but it is a marked improvement on using the iPad native apps which is like pulling teeth at times if you rely on using an external monitor for your workflow or type of work. For work I use a lot of web apps and therefore the browser and floating windows work well and makes the experience much closer to using MacOS. For a casual user it may not add much value, but for someone either choosing to or, as in my case, being forced to use a iPad for your main computer this is a great tool and one I would not hesitate to recommend. It has been a life saver for me as I have had to use the iPad Pro as my main device while my MacBook Pro battery is being replaced. I was a heavier user of my iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard but only when I was without my main MacBook did I start to find out the limitations and frustrations of using an external monitor on the iPad. This app has helped me to maintain my work output over the period I am without my Macbook. I was tempted to give 5 stars as they are solving a problem Apple should be doing, but as there are still improvements to make/come, I am holding back a star in reserve for when the experience is more seamless. For my part, this is money well spent..Version: 1.0
✓ A fantastic app working within iPadOS limitationsThe app works well for me but that might be because I only use it for the web browsing + calculator functionality. Of course, you can’t use native iPad apps in it. But for what it does, it does it really well. I also like the customizability of the apps appearance (colors, wallpapers, etc). It has certainly left me wanting apple to build something similar to this for the entirety of iPadOS. Kudos to Yannik the dev..Version: 1.0

✓ Great app with great monitor support!What a great app, just downloaded it when I found out that my 2020 iPad Pro (without M1) wound have support for the desktop like experience which really got me frustrated, until I found Shiftscreen, now what an innovation and a great product this is, to be able to use your iPad like a desktop computer (with the use of web apps). Can’t wait to see more progress! I’m really looking forward to seeing what this amazing app will turn into. One suggestion by the way, and that would be to add the ability to add web apps to the launchpad, just for ease of use. And I absolutely can’t wait to see Figma support too! I’ve been using just the website which has done the job but have seen the roadmap of 2021… it’s 2022 now so hope you haven’t given up but I just can’t say it enough how happy I am! ✓ A wonderful tool for a certain audienceThis app is a wonderfully designed app. That is currently lacking in a lot of features. I am a big Notion user, and this enables me to get the best experience from the app. I wouldn’t hesitate to get this if you use the apps it supports but don’t buy this app thinking it can do something with your existing apps. This is where alot of the negative reviews are unfairly coming from imo. The roadmap looked great and I was eagerly awaiting the updates for a long time, but they never arrived. but I suspect it has been abandoned now because the review scores are brutal. Also the new stage manager for M1 only ipads may also be responsible for the lack of updates. But as a Notion user with a 2020 ipad pro. This app is genuinely outstanding..Version: 1.0
