AT&T Cell Booster for Positive User Reviews

Works Just FineGot the Booster. Scanned code, downloaded app, registered, plugged it in, got it activated and went from 1 bar to 5. Total time from unpacking to in use, 20 minutes. I can’t see any problems with the app or the instructions or the device..Version: 1.21750.2

Don’t listen to naysayersThe hardest part of setup was remembering my username & password. It was very simple following the app from the QR code on the booster itself after that. TBD how it actually works once it quits blinking..Version: 1.21750.2

It really is that easyAfter reading the other reviews here I prepared myself for the long haul. Grabbed some popcorn, set the microwave to pop but then boom … cell set up was complete before popcorn was popped. Simply READ THE DIRECTIONS. There is a QR code for the app and then a second and separate QR code on the cell itself. Log into the app, register yourself, scan into the QR code on the cell which will then activate the cell. And then you wait, let technology do the rest. No time wasted making calls with tech support if you read the very simple and short directions. Tech support can’t help you if you can’t help yourself 🤷🏻‍♀️.Version: 1.21750.2

Easy setupOpen box Scan QR Open App Sign in Scan device QR Follow instructions Connect cables Register Wait…~20 min Received text and email activation complete and active. All Lights on device confirm operation, top 4 solid white, bottom blinking. App did not automatically refresh, had to close and reopen to show active device. Detecting optimal GPS signal strength for antenna placement option would have made 5 stars.Version: 1.21750.2

Not sure why all the bad reviews.I scanned the QR on the card. Followed the steps for signing in, hooked it up in under 5 minutes. ATT did their part and activated it in about 10 minutes. I live high in the mountains and I went from 1 bar to 4. FaceTime now works and I have about 100 ft range from the house..Version: 1.21750.4

Fast set upNote the QR on the box is different than the one on the booster ( that one is the boosters serial number info ) . I was avoiding setting this up. I downloaded this app and it was annoying to log in . I decided to update my password ( I used the same password ) that worked . Once I logged in the instructions were there and took me step by step through the process of set up. Plenty of time and pics . No disrupted signal . I don’t know how else I will use this app yet but so far my device is verified set up and in the process of being registered..Version: 1.21750.2

Don’t believe all the negative reviewsI’m not sure what has triggered so many negative reviews. There are a few things I do agree with but nothing that would make me give a one star rating. Let me explain. First off I do agree that the app has way too many AT&T ads for extra services that you probably don’t want. You open up this app and you go to a couple of pages and it’s sometimes hard to find the parts that you really need. But if you’re diligent and you know what you’re looking for, you’ll be fine. I was able to get my AT&T Cell Booster up and running within 2 hrs with only a three little hitches. First hitch, the documentation is not 100% clear about things like where to place the Cell Booster unit. As it turns out it really needs to be as high up as possible - say 7 to 8 feet mounted on a wall, maybe not a closet. Second hitch, is the GPS module. It really needs to be stuck on a window. Won’t work unless it can talk to a little sky (and you NEED GPS so that 911 services knows where you are). In retrospect, I should have figured that out - but, hey, at least I didn’t freak out when I didn’t find documentation! Lol. Third and final hitch, the documentation in the app says that the registration process takes only a few minutes. It can take up to a few hours for AT&T to detect your Cell Booster and register it. Boom, that’s it. By the way… if you have difficulty reading the instructions from the app, Google “AT&T Cell Booster installation instructions” - easy peasy. Good luck!.Version: 1.21750.4

No instructions but online support was wonderfulAs many reviews have stated there are NO instructions included in the package and the cell booster application is absolutely worthless in even indicating whether the device is working properly. But verbal support (by dialing 611) and remote screen sharing is wonderful. What a wonderful and pleasant surprise. Eva spent a half an hour walking me through the setup and she managed to get the booster working.Version: 1.21750.4

Acceptable AppHaving read all the negative reviews, I was apprehensive to set up this booster to replace my old 3G setup. I just followed the instructions after scanning the QR code on the device, NOT the one on the box. Just follow the instructions on the app in the order noted. My only glitch was which data port to use for the internet connection. First used LAN as instructed, but this failed to set up. Switched to WAN port, removed/replaced power cord, and voila. Works fine. App is only useful to check status after installation..Version: 1.21750.2

Add User listDevice can be used by anyone, not just people registered to the device. Please add user list for just people on the specific account..Version: 1.21750.2

Be patientI simply followed the instructions from the QR code and been patient. The setup was smooth but it took about 15-20 minutes after activation to work. You’ll receive an email once activated AND when your device is working. Suggestion… follow the instructions and be patient..Version: 1.21750.2

Fine but needs FaceID supportThe Cell Booster was a snap to set up. Yes, I had a problem at first too, but it was because my router needed to have some settings changed to permit the cell booster to get through to the internet. The tech support page on at&t’s website about firewall and router is actually very helpful and tells you precisely what to do. Plus I have gone from 1 bar to full service. Anyway the app is fine insofar as it goes. My biggest complaint about it is that it does not support FaceID and there’s a bug with passwords stored on the iPhone keychain. Seems like a simple fix..Version: 1.21750.4

Not the experience, others apparently have hadFirst of all, I need to say that I purchased this for use around my home which at best I would get one bar. Most of the time I had no bars. This was my last ditch effort to get a decent cell phone signal in the house, and hopefully do better than Wi-Fi calling. My biggest challenge with Wi-Fi calling is that it would flip-flop between cell and Wi-Fi and drop my call mid conversation. We tried multiple carriers, like T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T, and all have the same result. Installation was a snap. I downloaded the app. I then scan the QR code on the front of the device and follow the directions. Once I connected to the Internet and had the GPS connected to the window, I was able to get a decent GPS signal and the device registered and was connected. A few minutes later, AT&T sent me a notification that the booster was registered and online and from that point forward I’ve had 4 full bars of connectivity. So my experience is definitely different than most. Others reported here, so obviously something is very different in the conditions of their environment versus mine. Bottom line this was a pretty decent experience and very pleased with the wireless signal. I made a few calls, and they sounded crystal clear. I’m a happy guy..Version: 1.21750.4

Results very good - it took patienceI went from 1-bar to 4-bars, ground floor condo in Naples FL. Cell signal & WiFi assist had given very poor results. You must have a) GPS signal that pinpoints your location b) port on your router c) ATT login account & patience. The GPS antenna stuck on the window is necessary for setup - and then can be stored. The GPS identified that the device location matched my account location; and then an hour later everything was working very well. The back office work was done with no input from me. I am super happy with it and very pleased that I went to the effort..Version: 1.23136.1(1)
