✓ Lingidy German trial: too little there!I’m still using the free trial for German. I’m disappointed that there is no feedback (a simple ding of affirmation) for my pronunciation. Also, I really would like further guidance in the form of grammar & usage. Maybe German usage has changed, but are the polite forms of the second person no longer used? What there is in the app is very good. But I don’t really feel a sense of mastery, or insight into usage with any of the content. I’m still trying it out, but it appears I’ll want a different learning program with greater variety & depth. My reasons for learning German include not only travel, but eventual reading knowledge and ultimately some fluency, as well. ✓ Lingidy is a keeper!I’ve downloaded heaps of apps for language learning like Duolingo, Babble and the whole purple gang. Thought I saw it all but Lingidy may has been a pleasant surprise. Some of the other feel like video games. I guess that’s ok for kids, this feels more like for adults. I don’t have to buy gems to play, haha. The lesson are just what I need for my travels on business and pleasure. Covers all the basics for travel, getting around, getting on in the Hotel and Hot Tub, hahaha. I like that it tracks your progress although maybe the chart could be a bit more visually appealing. And I like the Dolphin mascot although I’m expecting them to be a bit more energetic. ✓ Nice!This version has some nice improvements like different difficulty levels and hints for some of the exercises. On the last version if you got stuck trying to spell a word, it could bring you down. Now when you Check, it shows the letters in the wrong place in red..Version: 3.2.15

✓ Chat feature rocksI downloaded this app a few months ago to learn Spanish and I like the lessons a lot. I noticed the recent upgrade had a new chat feature so I gave it a whirl. I tried chatting with Pablo Picasso in Spanish about art. So fun and really useful because it will correct you if you ask it to. If you don’t know what to say in Spanish you can just say it in English, and see what the translation would be. Hoping they will add voice so I can practice my pronunciation like for the exercises. ✓ Excellent and efficient app to learn languageLingidy is an excellent language app to learn Spanish. I have taken continuing education classes for Spanish at high schools and college before. And I practice everyday and try to learn to speak better Spanish. Lingidy’s strong point and maybe the best part is it offers learning opportunities with so many different categories and situations you can choose from. So I can delve into my interest and specific need for which I can learn and improve my language skill. I was even intrigued by category of Swearing. Lingidy may be the only language learning app which can teach you how to swear. I admire the courage for that..Version: 1.19
✓ Amazing language appI was born in the US and raised in Argentina so I appreciate travel, culture and learning languages. I’m also a musician and Italian is the language of music. So I’ve been trying some apps to get a basic ability to converse. This app allows me to learn Italian from English and Spanish so I can understand some of the nuance and similarity of latin languages. And the exercises are fun. There are thousands of phrases to learn and if you can’t find one the app goes translator on you, so it’s pretty much unlimited..Version: 2.1.17

✓ Swedish Dolphins Rule 🐬🇸🇪I tried previous versions of this app a while back to maintain my Swedish and I liked it a lot. But this version is amazing because you can just have a chat conversation in Swedish, or German French Italian whatever language and the app will respond in that language, and in English translation too so you can compare. And you can chat and respond in Swedish, or English if your Swedish isn’t great and it will translate it in real time. I read that you can ask the tutor to pretend to be any celebrity so I asked it to Bridget Bardot, and it did 😂😂😂😂😂 Hej Bridget, hür må du? Haha So funny, and the tutor can talk about things that only BB would know. And it says that the next version will have real voices, can’t wait for that..Version: 3.1.11
✓ Effective way to learn a language!Lingidy is my newly discovered favorite language app. I travel a lottt. I’m half German half American and have lived in Italy. I’m now practically fluent in all languages but I really wish this app existed 5 years ago when I first moved to Italy! It provides the best methods to learn a language, for example practicing writing out a sentence after listening to it or reading it as well as other fun exercises that are new and unique and not just the basic writing out a sentence. But my favorite is definitely the pronunciation tool. You take the sentence you want to learn, let the app speak it out loud to you as many times as you need, and then you can practice the pronunciation into a microphone which will tell you if it was right or wrong. Since knowing three languages I can definitely say that pronunciation is a hugeee part of a language which unfortunately often goes overlooked, but not with this app. Moreover, the topics that you can learn from are very unique and differ a bit from the normal language apps. You can learn how to go about being in different circumstances and places like going out to a bar, being in a hot tub, going to the bank or clothing store, visiting a museum and much more. But it gets better. They have some really good humorous topics where you can learn to flirt, curse, make enemies, learn the slang and even break up with someone. Which you wouldn’t think would be important at first, however those topics are very underrated and you never know. Lastly, Lingidy is great for traveling. The app has a ton of heavily used languages to learn from and lots of topics related to travel for example traveling by train, subway, plane, cab, skateboard and even topics related to lodging like Hotels, Airbnbs, Hostels, and more. So there really is something for everyone. You probably could also technically use the app as a translator to a certain extent when you travel. For example if you want to ask a local where the bus stop is, you could play the sound of the sentence on the app asking where the bus stop is. I haven’t tried it out yet but I feel like that could work. I saw that the company that makes this app also has real translators so those will definitely do a better job, but still..Version: 1.18
✓ Walkabout companionI travel quite a bit for my work at my crypto startup, Bamboo, and for fun. Most people speak English but making the effort to learn languages makes travel more enriching. I've downloaded lot of apps over time and this one is a welcome addition. The app gets right to business, not a lot of time on limited use vocab or games. The lessons dive right in to topics like Transportation, Lodging, Getting Around, etc. But the app feels up contemporary, not just the typical lesson on getting by in a hotel, but also phrases to use at the hostel, Airbnb and camp grounds ⛺ Learned a few phrases to use in the Limo too, lol. Exercises are challenging and keep you engaged. Good app to have on your next trip.Version: 1.19

✓ Great app for travelingThis app is nothing like I've ever seen on the market. I've tried many language learning apps and Lingidy seems to be very straight forward with the possibility to re-listen the sentences over and over. I can easily imagine using it in foreign countries as a way to communicate with locals. You can learn the basics very easily and if you're stuck with a sentence, just open your Lingidy app and listen to it again. The app is also easy to use and it's very user friendly. ✓ So clever!Not only is this app simple to use by dividing everything up into useful sections that you can use while travelling, but you can learn a new language from more than one other one! I speak English and a bit of Hindi and this app allows me to learn Italian from either of them which has improved both my Hindi and Italian! ✓ Good language appI tutor students online for a living, and a bunch of other things too so I appreciate good learning tools when I see them. Ligidy is a good app for several reason but I would say the best is that the lessons throw you some curveballs every so often to keep your attention. You can only hear « What is your name », « my name is » so many times, but what other app teaches you to say « Are you pregnant🤰🏽?» as part of a lesson called Making Enemies, which comes right after Making Friends. Lol The new chat feature is a fun way for student to learn a language and about other subjects of interest at the same time. This is the way to the future for language apps..Version: 3.1.11
✓ Effective learningLove this new app, I’ve been a member of Rosetta Stone for decades and still haven’t retained much of anything. I’m currently living abroad and a second or third language is a must! Using this app and it’s conversation starter along with some slang has been key to meeting new people. I’ve become more confident entering into the unknown. As stated below in these reviews, learning apple for the hundredth time isn’t doing it. ✓ Languages GaloreI’m a college student and I’ve tried apps from this developer before. This one is similar to Learn Spanish which I use in Mexico. But Lingidy gives you a bunch of languages in one app, so I’m covered for Spanish and French, but also Portuguese and a bunch more I would like to dabble in if I ever go to Brazil, Japan, India, Sweden… My favorite lessons are Airports, Trains and Planes and yeah I’m too cheap to get the Plus upgrade for now. But I tried the one week trial and I got a good laugh of the lessons on pick-up lines and rejections, lol. If you do the trial, make sure and cancel it right away so you don’t forget in iOS Settings, if you don’t want to pay. Best exercise is pronunciations. I’m doing CS and voice recon isn’t trivial but this app does a decent job. The word jumble exercise got better because now you have extra words not in the phrase to mess you up. So yeah, def worth the download and let’s hope there are some promos on the upgrade, listening devs? 🙉 😅.Version: 1.19

✓ Travel app par excellence!Getting solid use out of this app thanks to the simple navigation structure and quality of lessons. Feels like the app was designed with people heading out on a holiday because the lessons follow the chronology of a typical trip, going to the airport, passing through customs, on a plane, etc. Also feels like the app was designed for adults because it's not as video-game like as some others. There are 4 or 5 exercises per phrase. You can even say a phrase and the app will tell you how accurate your pronunciation is. There is a screen for tracking progress which could be better. But apart from that I really appreciate this app..Version: 1.19
✓ Great app to advance my Spanish!What a great app! It’s helped me to learn Spanish so easily and improve rapidly. There are heaps of lessons to get you through all the trials of traveling abroad like finding a place to sleep, finding transportation or a way of communicating. ✓ One of the betterI’ve been using this app to learn Spanish, and I really appreciate how this app base it’s learning in phrases and not just a laundry list of words. I love that I can save favorite phrases; that way I can easily find back to the ones I want to practice more, or know I’ll use more. I like how everything is organized in categories. It makes it easy to navigate. And I really appreciate the simplistic design - especially with the lessons/exercises. I’m giving it one less star because I wish more categories are open on the free version. And I don’t like ads. I’d rather pay a little upfront and upgrade as I go..Version: 1.19
