Misrepresentation Two with a silver liningTo the beings that seem to be ok with any potential action which means your money in their pocket and you and me way over here.Where we have empty pockets.i would not be ready for my death if I treated mySelf and others in this way Why? Because I have to be ok with my death when it occurs, and such engagments was would meAn was a thief, liar, and manipulator. Silver lining?Folks will show u who they are long before any attempt to deny what that have aleady show everyone..Version: 2.0.4

Speechless 😵‍💫I was in a hurry today. My current iPad Pro apps won't let me do quite what I need to do, at least not quickly. It sounded like Affinity Publisher could. All I needed to do was slant a font that I'm using in a graphic that I made in Procreate, and then rasterize it. Procreate doesn't have a faux italics option. Affinity Publisher theoretically allows you to slant the font though which I really truly needed to do. On-line folks said to go to "View - Studio - Character". Since I couldn't find anything saying it was the "View" Menu, I asked about that and was told to go to "Preferences - Keyboard Shortcuts - View" good grief, this was ridiculously opaque and again unfindable. With time ticking down for me, I asked where "Preferences" was located and was told to go to "Tools - Preferences". KMN because "Tools" proved unfindable also. Eventually I stumbled across a character menu, and found the slant option. I selected my text and tapped the slant box up to 5 degrees, and..... nothing changed. Is it because it's a trial? Well, if so, the developers failed. If they ever decide to offer straightforward menu routes to get to specific places without being psychic, and if the features then work, I'll be first in line to pay. FWIW, I'm a decades-long Painter expert, Photoshop & Lightroom expert, and InDesign expert. But not planning on becoming an Affinity expert until they stop with the "cool" mysterious act - because wow does that get old fast. And yeah, missed my deadline 🤐.Version: 2.1.1

Good replacement for indesign if export was workingI cannot get it to export, it is driving me insane. One out of 200 times I might accidentally get to the export page but that‘s about it. Seriously guys, fix your bugs for ipad. You‘re the only thing we‘ve got ffs..Version: 2.2.0

As others wroteBought the program months ago and I am asked for an account I don't care about. Sign this, sign that, reload, unload, upload. Big thumbs down!.Version: 2.0.3

Precision is impossible; many bugsForced rounding still prevents any kind of precision. Constant bugs and poor design decisions sap productivity. Severe bugs were left unfixed from v1 to v2..Version: 2.0.4

I’m sure it will be great eventuallyBut for now I wish I could bill Affinity for the hours I spent redoing client work when the most random actions somehow corrupts the file and causes the app to crash and crash and crash.Version: 2.0.3

No Right-to-left text supportYou can't use this for Kurdish, Arabic, or Persian..Version: 2.0.1

I really want to use this but…I mainly use Affinity Publisher on desktop, on Windows and store my document and related images and PDFs on cloud drive. So, I was really excited about having Publisher available on the iPad. However, unless I am missing something , all links use an absolute path and there seems to be no way to set a relative path for the links - not in the iPad version nor the Desktop version. So, it’s not possible to continue editing between different devices unless the folder structure is exactly the same (e.g. Mac and iPad and files on iCloud). Serif Team, please add relative path option to resources..Version: 2.0.3

Unable to Print!Update: The app is still completely useless. Every attempt to print defaults to a 4x6 print size. And switching back to letter in the print pop-up ruins document formatting. Winter 2023: The well-documented printing bug remains unfixed since Affinity Publisher 2 launched in November 2022. Directly printing from the menu resizes the document uncontrollably every time. The only way to print remains: Export - Share - PDF - Print..Version: 2.3.1

CLUNKY TEXTNot enough intuitive design. Impossible to find the fill feature for text boxes and shapes. Text is clunky, very poor support for Bluetooth keyboard, constantly stops working in app (but works elsewhere). Overall not enough thought on the simple stuff. Very disappointed..Version: 2.0.4

Great app but …….It does not support the Arabic language even though there are a lot of Arab users and they use the Arabic language in 90% of their work by the way this problem was noted from v1 and still, the company doesn't have time to support the language! even though they released v2..Version: 2.1.1

Replacement for PagePlusDisappointed as now no facility now to produce calendars easily. Will have to go back to PagePlus which is now rather out of date and no longer supported. I had looked forward to this version as can be used on the iPad pro. as well..Version: 2.0.1

Promising but Frequently crashingAn app with many functions however it crashes too often only after a few simple edits and loses all my work. Also when inserting an image from photo library, it doesn’t recognize the edit done in the apple’s photo app..Version: 2.0.2

AgainSaw it. Downloaded it. Tried it. For an hour. Deleted it as i did with all affinity products..Version: 2.3.0

BUG - NON FEATUREConstant harassment to create an account that I DO NOT NEED OR WANT!!!! Every-time I open the app, I PAID FOR. Please remove this NON FEATURE. People purchased your apps, some have iCloud+ and do not require another account with a 3rd party! This annoying NON FEATURE was not in ver 1.0..Version: 2.0.3

BuggyDoesn’t work well on iPad when using stage manger , it crashes every time when trying to use two open applications at the same time..Version: 2.4

R2LStill R2L (Hebrew, Arabic, Persian) is not supported 😑😑😑😑.Version: 2.0.3

Very disappointed! No templates are included, with the exception of 10 samples. Meaning I need to start from scratch, meaning I have no clue! Most online templates cost money; in addition, I don’t know how to install them into the app. Just confirms what I’ve known all along—nothing is easy with Affinity apps. PLEASE, developers, provide us with templates! Then I will up my rating to 5 stars..Version: 2.0.1

Too many bugs right nowI love the Affinity suite. Went all in on V1 and immediately upgraded to V2—especially excited for Publisher on iPad. Unfortunately, there are too many bugs to get real work done on the iPad. Frequent crashing, loss of basic fonts, long load times, long save times, crashing during saves, having to close the document in order to access the option to save your work…a slew of problems that make the app feel utterly unreliable. And worse, support has been slow to respond to bug reports, which is the biggest disappointment of all. I’ll be working with the desktop apps until these issues are resolved..Version: 2.0.2

BugWhen using an external keyboard, it will automatically crash, please solve this problem..Version: 2.0.4

Full of bugsThe app feels like a beta version with lot of functionalities not working. Pulled in a svg image in publisher that was created in designer and it keeps on disappearing. PDF export keeps on hanging and doe not work. Others should wait for serif to update to 2.1 or future version.Version: 2.0.1

Amazing app, only one issueLove the app, but it crashes on iPad 2020.Version: 2.4.2

BruhhhhhhI was absolutely loving EVERYTHING about this app…the functionality, the mobility to create a book on the go, and the simplicity of the UI until this afternoon when all of a sudden, about 60 of my linked images all changed to ONE duplicated image that couldn’t be undone even by cycling through the history. On top of that, when manually replacing one linked image to its original pic, the app clearly bugged out and a lot of the backgrounds changed to that newly replaced image as well. But before you ask, no, it wasn’t an image placed on a master page by accident. Please, please, please get this fixed because I abandoned Adobe for Serif products because I fell in love with this company but the levels of stress I’ve endured by trying to find a way to get my book back have been unfathomable. And the endless crashing is insane..Version: 2.0.4

Faulty UpgradeNormally when I upgrade an app the new version replaces the old version whilst importing or making available all my old projects to the new version. Not so with Affinity. Now I have two versions on my iPad sucking up space, and it isn’t clear how I get all of my old projects into the new version so I can delete the old version. I do not want two versions. It’s inefficient. If there isn’t a simple fix forthcoming I will be asking for a refund and just sticking to the old version..Version: 2.0.3

ClunkyFor some reason the option to save a jpg to photos instead of files isn’t working and it’s flipping infuriating. I’ve looked it up and it seems like some weird, clunky “feature” and very confusing to fix/work around… why? Why are such simple things so complicated? This is a basic function..Version: 2.4.1

With love..I want to love this part of the suite as much as I do Designer and Photo..but honestly Affinity Publisher is CONSTANTLY crashing! I’m running on an ipad pro M1 so it clearly isn’t a performance issue. I am writing this review to help another avoid starting a project with this app before it becomes stable. I hope there will be an update soon. Features are always appreciated but a solid base is always essential. (Suggestion : at least put a short cut save option other than having to exit the doc. It would be appreciated on all the three apps.).Version: 2.3.1

Can’t insert images?I noticed upon making a document, I can only insert a number of images before it won’t let me anymore. Then I will make a new document and it’s totally random on if it lets me insert them or not. I bought this app with the promise of inserting images. I’d appreciate a refund or some help with this problem or some insight at all.Version: 2.4.1

Needs polishRight now there’s a bug that is preventing the app from connecting to my account. It simply won’t continue. There’s another issue where linking two text frames causes the app to crash. This then causes the app to restart and require me to sign in (bringing me back to issue 1). I love the idea of using my iPad as a book editor. These issues, however, are getting in the way of that..Version: 2.0.3

IPad Version is NOT worth it!I use Affinity designer a lot love it! Thought this one would live up to Affinity designer quality but nope! Can not make files when adding own photos in program crashes, and loses all saved progress. Because you have to leave the file to save the file, (that should be updated and should be in the file menu to save within the file) to help at least keep progress with all the crashes… As well the file save PDF file is not working! Keep saving as an error document. Very frustrating! The app version is not good at all. Stick to the computer one. Not worth spending the money. I have tried many routes since July 2023 (2 months) to get my book to work and has not with the save problems and continual crashes. Which has left me to now having to restart the entire thing book from scratch. Definitely not impressed..Version: 2.2.0

Beware of V2The description states this app has full integration with other Affinity apps, but that is not the case. You cannot utilise studio link with V1 of either Photo or Designer, you have to have v2 of both of them also. Raised this with Serif direct and asked for a refund for this app so I could look at purchasing the entire V2 suite. I was basically told to ‘push off’.Version: 2.0.1

TrashApp description says “No data collected” but it connects to various Serif servers and who knows what it uploads! This is unacceptable. Also if you purchase the app directly from the App Store, the app prompts you to create a Serif account, every, single, app launch!! Absolutely unacceptable. Feels like a scummy garbage app now. Clearly it was taken over “marketing and growth optimizer” so it’s natural that if now feels like cancer. Stay from this. Version 1 was great. This is pure garbage..Version: 2.0.3

Glitchy, Glitchy, GlitchyI hate to post a negative review, but this software is so infuriating to use. It crashes or glitches frequently, and randomly, has poor/no documentation, and “support” is attrocious due to their insistence on using forums, rather than a proper ticketing system. The Good: You can transfer files between desktop and iPad to work on them how and as you need. You pay once for the whole fricking suite. The Bad: Did you want palm rejection or gesture control settings? Tough. The system is set to work in one way and tough luck if you need to disable or change anything. Did you want to draw without the colour picker popping up? Tough. There are no settings for it, so it sucks to be you. Did you want to draw a vector line using a brush? Go for it. Then go back and pick the brush again because the software refuses to let you actually draw using anything other than a plain, round vector brush, so you have to then pick the brush afterwards. Again. What’s that? You changed the stroke width before choosing the brush you just changed to? Well, you’ll have to change the stroke weight again because every brush has a different default stroke weight and ignores the current setting. Did you want to add a gradient to an object or shape? Go to the FX section and set it up exactly how you want. What’s that? You want to change the direction of the gradient, maybe to make it vertical instead of horizontal? Tough. That setting doesn’t exist. Did you want to change the colour you’ve selected? Well, go wild … up until it glitches and decides to snap back to the previous colour every. single. time. (The only work around I’ve found is closing the document and going back into it, which is great up until it starts doing it again 20 seconds later. Lather, rinse, repeat.) Did you want to know how something works? Go to their website and look through the wonderful, text-based documentation. What’s that? You want to actually have images to go along with the “step-by-step” instructions? Sucks to be you. Did you want to know how something works specifically on the iPad? Fat chance of that happening. If it ain’t on the quick guide, you’re up a creek. Nevermind that the interface is quite different, you’re on your own. Did you want to duplicate a layer? Try tapping on the later to bring up the menu … oh, you wanted things like copy/paste, clear layer and duplicate layer there? HA! It’s hidden in a squirrely menu at the top of the screen, because that makes sense and is intuitive. Supposedly. For someone. Somewhere. Did you need support? Well, good luck. Support happens exclusively through their forum, which has mainly old information not pertaining to v2. Did you want to know how to identify new content that’s applicable to the current software version? Well, good luck. You’ll have to look at the post date and hope they’re talking about what you have. While companies like to defend the lack of support by saying how people will get quicker answers through a forum, it’s a cop out. The answers you find there are (a) not from the devs so not necessarily correct and (b) often require so much back and forth it’s not worth the effort. This program, however, NEEDS proper ticketing because it is SO. BLEEDING. GLITCHY! I wish I could use this daily without pulling my hair out or feeling like throwing my iPad against the wall. Procreate has some quirks, but at least it works pretty reliably. Can’t wait for the day when they release an alternative to Publisher. If you’re looking for something that’s reliable enough to use daily in a production environment, this is NOT IT..Version: 2.1.1

AVOIDThis is pretty poor. It won’t even allow me to import documents from Drive or Dropbox or even from my files on iPad. It just doesn’t react to anything selected. Such a waste of time EDIT: I’m not sure why the developer has posted the generic “We’re sorry to hear about your bad experience. Please contact us” message. I contacted them multiple times before leaving this review and they basically told me to push off. Once they’ve got your money, they don’t care at all. Definitely avoid this App!!.Version: 2.1

Incredibly frustratingThis clearly wasn’t designed to actually be functional on an iPad. This is one of the most frustrating, nonfunctional apps I’ve ever dealt with. I seriously regret my purchase..Version: 2.3.0

ReviewIt’s nice, and great for publishing designs, but to use it you need to pay a monthly fee. Other then that, the editing factors are great!.Version: 2.0.3

Not easy to start, poor manuals and tutorials, No templates. One problem after another, I cannot get a booklet started. Inserting page numbers problematic. Facing page display hit and miss No templates included Keeps freezing Help system is useless Manuals are worst I have ever come across Do I need to go on? EDIT I do need to go on, 4 months for the response to be posted. The PC app works well, I simply do not use the iPad app now..Version: 2.0.4

Still finding its feet as an app, & £90.00…08 Sep 23: Update: So, finally, after many months, & an update of criticism, finally, but; “and what?” The upgrade path does not answer the question: ‘Loyal Users’ who got you off your feet to where you are! 01 Sep 23: NO response received on any sort of decent pricing structure for loyal users (from V.1.0) who helped you grow, make the apps what they are, then? Shame: It tells people everything they need to know for when Version 3.0 arrives in the future (although, I imagine by that time, it’ll be closer to £299.99 for the package). The reviews at this price point are quite frankly, shocking! I’m looking for alternatives (not CreativeCloud etc.) ORIGINAL REVIEW: … is more about what I’d pay as a V. 1.0 ‘Upgrader’. It’s still relatively young in its version 2.0 cycle, so, understandably there’ll be issues, for a while. (I’m not sure if/what the beta programme was, but you’d think they’d iron out a lot of issues, no?) Now, see; I’m not criticising the app suite, I’m simply giving an opinion. So, team, no need to jump in with any comments, I’m convinced it’ll get there, and I’ll be on board. Final comment: Version 1.0 Users have been there from the start. They’ve helped to shape the scenery and the nomenclature of the apps. Therefore; by all means - new users - £169.99 ☑ Loyal users - £89.99 Max 👍🏻.Version: 2.1.1

FRAUD by selling incomplete products in order to force you to purchase AGAIN! That’s FRAUD!So Affinity thinks it can get away with making a bunch of people buy their suit/products, ONLY to then come out with a part 2 (thus rendering part 1 useless and no longer useable) which means they sold an incomplete product, this is a VIOLATION OF LAW lets start a lawsuit. THE RIPPED ME OFF TWICE as I bought the 3 set suite for iPad and then my Mac as well NOW NONE OF my purchases work and they want to force us to buy it all over again but according to the comments on it, ITS 100X’s WORSE WITH LESS ABILITIES AND a terrible unusable interface. Looking for lawyer to take them to court..Version: 2.0.2
