Affinity Publisher 2 for iPad for Positive User Reviews

Version: 2.2.0

Arabic support please 🌹Im waiting arabic support for along time thank you for all time spending to develop this app Al-Ani Yasir best wishes.Version: 2.3.0

One time feeThe idea you pay once and always updates is amazing next to using fcpx. There is a huge amount of content and templates supported by the company and 3rd party Plus one buy and works on all Apple products is amazing deal.Version: 2.0.3

Fantastic APPLove using it for the publications I have been working on. Affordable, and works well. No glitches. Worth getting!.Version: 2.4

A few small errorsI love it in a million different ways, but the double tap options are limited to publisher tools, which is useless in studio link. And, the saving function is wonky; I can only seem to get anything saved by saving a copy, otherwise the save copy is no where to be found. Other than that, it’s more or less everything we hoped it would be..Version: 2.0.1

The best iPad AppI bought this because Adobe’s embrace of the iPad is lacking to say the least. It takes a little getting used to, but this app—along with Designer and Photo—are just as good and in many cases better, than Adobe’s desktop apps..Version: 2.0.4

Beautifully Powerful, A Must have! It’s all about the tools. Apps are tools and my iPad, Mac are my hardware running those tools. I write, photo edit, design and there is nothing with the power to execute that on all devices and platforms for a few bucks. Affinity is the name. I haven’t used Adobe in years and saved a ton. They are very fair in their pricing and their software rocks big time! Thanks to the team over there, you deserve 5 stars!.Version: 2.0.3

I love itIt is an amazing and very powerful app. It is very fast and responsive. You can work on a same file with desktop and iPad version. The UI can be much better..Version: 2.1.1

Very closeThis is an overall excellent and comprehensive publishing package, with an excellent array of tools and customisations. It also translates well to the iPad display and makes it easy to produce lovely looking documents. Main problems are around using the app with the Magic Keyboard — many common keyboard shortcuts that work everywhere else (such as Cmd-Left/Cmd-Right to select to the beginning/end of the line, or Cmd-Z to undo) either behave erratically or don’t work at all. Pressing and holding the Cmd button also does not reveal keyboard shortcuts either. With the right attention paid to these issues, this really does have the potential to be a killer app..Version: 2.0.1

Great so farI was super excited to see Publisher has finally made it to iPad. I’ve had a flawless experience so far. Perhaps it’s in part due to my iPad Pro having an M1 chip & buckets of available memory. If you need right to left text, you should hold off on the purchase. While I have no need for that myself, I can see the value in making the app more multiculturally accessible. If you are a person that wants pre-made templates to get you started, this is also not the app for you. This is for creatives that want full creative control! Personally, I really hate apps with templates - especially when they are always visible on startup and you have to start with one. They just slow you down when you always want to do your own thing. As far as fraud goes, I don’t get it? Across all operating systems and platforms, apps are continually developed and improved. They are in progress until they are dead/no longer supported. We are fortunate that Serif isn’t gouging us like everyone with a subscription model. We get free updates from the time of purchase until the next major version release. At that time we can pay for the upgrade or choose to stick with what we have. This used to be standard everywhere. The old versions don’t stop working, they just don’t get the new features. Serif usually offers significant discounts whenever there’s a new release. Personally, I think this is pretty fair & wish more creative software worked this way. To end on a positive note, I can’t express how much I love how seamlessly it works switching into the Designer and Photo personas when working on a publication. It’s so, so nice!.Version: 2.0.2

Top valuePeople still moaning they felt hard done by because they felt this should have been free or something, need to get to grips with reality. The opposition costs way more on the other platforms, get behind this and support it. And the other nob saying you have to pay a fee to use it? Buy the suite and own it on every platform, it doesn’t get any better, seriously. Only criticism is getting fonts onto the iPad for projects you are using across other devices, but that’s a downside of the iPad really. Great job Serif..Version: 2.0.4

Not yet there, Mouse support! As much as i love the idea of this on the ipad, it has got its flaws in regards to mouse support, i own a third party mouse that works fine on most apps but seems not be able to scroll and move on the pages, the only thing it works for is general cursor movement and clicking but lacks the full connectivity to make it feel like a desktop app. hope this gets added or fixed.Version: 2.0.4

Zoom mode on iPadCan’t use zoom mode in iPad to make tools bigger. It is fine on affinity version 1. In zoom mode in iPad new document does not function properly, it expands on right side only. I am sure the next update will fix all problems..Version: 2.0.1

Simply no equal in the Tablet world!Affinity Publisher completes my essential software to make my IPAD the only one device to use on a daily basis..Version: 2.1

Absolutely amazingFinally, Publisher on an iPad. The ability to access Photo and Designer feature sets within the Publisher app (what Affinity call Studio Link) is just amazing! A perfect workflow solution. Loving the all new user interface too. It’s so much easier to see and a lot more intuitive..Version: 2.0.1

Thank you.Thank you for bringing this to iPad. I could not be more grateful..Version: 2.0.3

Please fix Korean charactor input error. Please fix Korean charactor input error. It goes like '아르ㅁ다우ㄴ' where it should be '아름다운'.. There are tons of designers and professionals here, willing to replace Adobe apps to Affinity apps. I have purchased V2 version, understanding how it can be a game changer in tablet publishing work. Thanks for the product..Version: 2.0.2

Universal license discount?…I forgot to buy the first introductory universal license. Do you guys think you will ever have that for $100 again? Or anything for the nearly broke?.Version: 2.0.4

My most valued app for design work on the iPadLike many users of the first versions of Affinity Designer and Photo I was eager to get Publisher. And the wait was worth it! In the first five months since it's release I've used it on flyers, annual reports, brochures and newsletters. It's been a pleasure to use. Where Publisher really shines is in multi page documents and it has not disappointed in that role. One of the great features, StudioLink, allows me to open up an image in Photo or a vector graphic in Designer without actually leaving the Publisher app. It's amazing. I make my adjustments and then tap back to Publisher mode to return to page layout. One note for NEW users, while the usual tools one expects to have with this kind of app are on the left toolbar it's important to remember that with the touch optimized iPad design, the various tool options are all found on the right side context toolbar. So, when you're working in text you'll see lots of options when you click to text context toolbar button. A powerful app like this can take some time to learn so give yourself time to learn and remember all of the options and be patient. The built in help is also available on the web and it can be useful to have that open if you're new to the app. Having the web help open allows you to bounce back and forth between the app and the help. In addition to the help Serif has also published a lot of tutorial videos on their YouTube channel and these are worth checking out! As some have noted, it's not perfect, there are some bugs. But that's to be expected with a major new-to-iPad release. Serif has an excellent track record with fixing bugs so I have no doubt they're working on the fixes. Even with the bugs I've had no problem completing my projects for delivery to clients..Version: 2.0.4

Great app with one problem!I bought affinity photo and design ver 1 for ipad, both of them are fantastic and I will update to new version. I had a passion for publisher and I installed trial version. after work with them I think it’s a fantastic app. it’s great we can design and publish long content like books and magazine with ipad, it’s grate. app feature and format support is fantastic. but any apps of the serif affinity don’t support RTL text! I use mirror online web site for import RTL text in designer and photo. but in publisher we have a big problem for this app because our texts are to long and we can’t use mirror tools for them. I don’t think after ending trial version time I buy this app only for this problem! Because I need your app support RTL text. I’m sure very people will be waiting for RTL text support. your software is fantastic and economy for middle east and north Africa market. Please adding this feature. Thanks..Version: 2.0.1

Small problemIpados “…” stage manager* blocks the top center affinity menu. Easy fix i hope :).Version: 2.0.1

Well advanced…I never expected the iPad apps to be so unlimited and so feature rich. It’s not any compromise to work on the iPad with this app..Version: 2.4

BrilliantI have been waiting for this for 2 years. Absolutely love it, works flawlessly and smooth and has everything I need. The link solution is amazing and so handy..Version: 2.0.1

For Anyone Serious About Productivity On iPad….Get This!I have been a big fan of Affinity for quite some time. I also went through a stretch using an iPad as my only portable productivity device, using it as my main laptop. This was only possible due apps top tier apps like LumaFusion and the Affinity Suite, etc. Apps like Affinity Publisher are what make the iPad what it is! I believe every serious creative professional with an iPad should have this app downloaded!.Version: 2.0.4

Released too early but now becoming great!Promised to update my review if and when basic missing features were added (ie. import PDFs without breaking paragraphs of text into hundreds of individual text boxes, etc). Happily, Affinity is now adding the basic features users expect of a top publishing app and it’s starting to deserve a seat alongside Affinity Photo and Designer. In all the apps there remain a list of unintuitive oddities that logic alone will not solve, requiring you to keep having to hit the astonishingly poor range of practical help and support videos. Support documentation is so terrible that you’re forced to search for third party solutions, ALL of which seem to be horrible! It’s also the ONLY app I know which places your work at risk (1990s style) by NOT SAVING what you’ve created (‘live’ seems to mean ‘unsaved’), forcing you to manually keep saving, and it keeps asking if you want to overwrite previous versions or ‘save as…’, leaving you confused and unsure if your work is safe. It’s another illogical, confusing workflow, but I know the team trying to simplifying things. Affinity publisher 2 gets 4 stars from me because it’s obvious that the developers are working hard to create - what will undoubtedly become - the No.1 publishing/design/photo apps in the world, and that effort absolutely deserves our patience and support!.Version: 2.2.0

Huge HUGE App. Amazing valuePublishing. Proper publishing is very complex. Affinity’s wonderful software is truly remarkable that such an elaborate and fiddly process has been translated to a touch interface. The sheer volume of features available is astounding. The scope- enormous. How people can be so snarky about something so enormous and fully featured, and for such a small amount of money is beyond me. I’ve published using Pages before now, but I am determined to translate my working methods to Affinity so I can make alterations quicker and easier than I could before, lightening my workload considerably. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube so I have been brought up to speed fairly quickly, and I’ve already converted some Pages documents over to the new system with relative ease. Admittedly, there is work involved in this crossover which does take some time- not Affinity’s fault- it’s the nature of swapping systems, but not all the work is lost, and once you get a rhythm going, it’s doable. So glad I now have this on my ipad. It’s made my life so much easier..Version: 2.0.3

Great app, desktop level designEverything is pro level.Version: 2.0.1

ImpressiveI’m a fan of feature set and it being non-subscription, but 1) You must log in to validate license (to be fair I can see why) 2) Unless I can find a way to hide paid stock services I will regret having bought it.Version: 2.0.2

Best of 2023Affinity is the new Adobe. Try it yourself and find out why. I already switched. It’s that good..Version: 2.0.3

Happy to have this in ipad, but really need improvementFirst of all, I bought the ver 1.0 and I love it, that’s why this time you guys have the 2.0 I immediately buy all of them. I’ve been waiting for something that available for editing long text and poster and only need to pay for once. So affinity definitely do the job. However, there’s still rooms to improve. First, it has bug. I was trying to fill the background w/ picture, and it didn’t pop up the window allow me to choose the bitmap like the designer or photo. This really need to fix, I do can use other app to finish this job, but as a app function, it should be working. And then it’s the improvement part, sometimes I need to edit a really long text, like a book or something that more than one page. I expect that the app will at least directly create a new page in the same setting to show my outflow text. And maybe just I still learning the app, but I would love to have first line indent function. Last time I try to do it, I only available to find indent the entire paragraph which is not what I need it. And I hate to do it manually specially if I am looking for editing for a book. But overall, I’m so happy that affinity do listen and bring this software to the iPad. I do happy about it..Version: 2.0.3

External display support on iPad not fullscreenExternal display support working with tools now but the app does not take advantage of the full screen.Version: 2.1

RTL text supportPlease add the RTL text support!!.Version: 2.0.2
