Final Cut Pro for iPad for Positive User Reviews

No External SSD SupportThere’s no external SSD support at launch which makes Final Cut Pro on the iPad pretty useless. Even if you have a 2gb iPad Pro, shooting and editing Pro Res Raw this is not enough memory. As soon as this is added it will be a great app..Version: 1.0

Editing At Your FingertipsNever thought I could edit in the front seat of a car. Thanks Apple. Brilliant stuff..Version: 1.0.1

ExportingI like the Final Cut Pro for iPad. But ….. how in the heck do you export a finished video project to another device … like an iPhone or Mac Book. I just can’t figure it out. HELP …...Version: 1.0.1

Couldn’t Stay Angry at FCP for IPI’m a commercial editor who can’t resist working on an occasional project on the iPad. Had high hopes for FCP/IP until I discovered editing from external drives and round-tripping with FCP/Mac wasn’t enabled. But I started playing with the app anyway. Despite it’s lack of features available on FCP/Mac, FPC/IP is a pleasure to use. When I need to include corporate artwork, e.g. lower third supers, I can create them in a vector app, e.g. Illustrator, Affinity Designer, saving as PNG, them import them to FCP. That’s a big deal. In the mean time, you CAN export your FCP/IP projects (Libraries) created on your iPad to an external drive — then delete the original off the iPad — and later, re-import your library to your iPad and keep working. The process is an extra step, but so far, it works well. In the mean time, here’s hoping Apple will continue to develop features for FCP/IP at a far, far faster rate than they did for FCP/Mac..Version: 1.0

Thank You Apple :):).Version: 1.0

A brilliant pro app for iPad ProNever got this on Mac, but so happy it has been finally released for iPad Pro. Yeah, a few bugs here and there, but overall it runs smoothly and is fantastic. Would recommend getting it..Version: 1.0

I’m really liking it so far!I’m really liking FCP on my iPad so far! I do wish it was easier to lengthen the “transitions” between clips. Ex: Transition “Flow” only lasts 0.00:12s ‘ and won’t go beyond that. Update: looks like it facts every transition for me.Version: 1.0

Pure funYes, there are features missing and the inability to edit on an external drive is frustrating but this is just version 1.0 and the subscription model gives Apple an incentive to update and improve. What is here is just a delight to use. It’s designed from the ground up for a touch-based interface and is fun and fast. I love Resolve for long, complicated projects but Final Cut is my now go-to for shorter edits with quick turnaround. It’s stable and intuitive and did I mention fun?.Version: 1.0.1

Great Release but Needs ImprovementApple has finally ventured into designing pro-level production apps for the iPad with the release of Final Cut Pro for iPad, which is a solid first software release. The overall performance and functionality are impressive and make it worth the investment. However, there is a glaring omission - the inability to record voiceovers directly within the app. As a workaround, I used Logic Pro for iPad to record voiceovers while playing the video on Final Cut Pro. This method is somewhat cumbersome and requires owning Logic Pro as well. Additionally, managing two applications simultaneously can be challenging, especially when most other video editing software options include built-in voiceover features. In conclusion, this first release is a good start, but the lack of voiceover capabilities prevents it from being perfect and fully suitable for professional use. Adding this feature would undoubtedly earn it a 5-star rating. Despite this shortcoming, I still recommend giving it a try..Version: 1.0

A good beginningFinal Cut Pro for the iPad at the beginning of its re Ease had people excited for the future of video editing on the iPad! It had my hopes up as well h til I went to edit a project, the lack of features like color grading and the tediousness in which you have to key frame. Over all the app needs help in the design department. But it’s a good start.Version: 1.0.1

Don’t like the subscriptionA one time payment would be a lot better !.Version: 1.0.1

A familiar platform, coming from the desktop version.I’ve been waiting for the development of apps that would suit my particular skill set and strengths, being that I’m a classical pianist, from my upbringing years - the point being is that I enjoy working with the concept of a multitouch interface for getting things done in audio and video, which is offered here, for Final Cut Pro. It’ll be exciting to learn about the features offered in this iPad version, and to do work in this app..Version: 1.0

Wow!I absolutely love it! The integration with FCP Mac is awesome..Version: 1.0

Great Features, Some Bugs.Love the features on this app and how it runs similar to Final Cut for the Mac, however I'm constantly asked to sign-in every time I want to edit a project. Hope they fix this before my free month is up, I’d love to renew and keep it longer..Version: 1.0

Is it free?I dont know about it.Version: 1.3

Now I have another choiceI’ve been using LumaFusion as my goto app for video production and therefore got good at it. Very user-friendly. I tried DaVinci then removed it because it was not as intuitive as I thought. Along comes Final Cut Pro and I gotta say I was reluctant at first because I was finding features were missing…until I found them. The one feature which is not in this first version is the Help icon in LumaFusion which, when you press and hold, brings up descriptive annotations for every function on the edit panel. But it looks like FCP/iPad will become my primary now..Version: 1.0.1

FinallyBeen waiting years for this moment.Version: 1.0

My iPad Pro is finally usefulI don’t know why apple dragged their feet for so long on this, being that the iPad with M1 & M2 chips have been more than capable of running Final Cut, but that being said, I can finally take my video edit workflows over to my iPad Pro and get some use out of it. I was really regretting the purchase when I realized there weren’t many apps (until recently) that really fit my needs and utilized the processing power of the iPad Pro. I’m so glad its finally here. The interface is familiar and intuitive. I haven’t found the ability to make compound clips yet, but maybe that’s not available or coming in a future update. Also, I’ve only been using it for about an hour — so maybe its there somewhere. But I’m really glad to see that I can easily make mulitcam clips, as that’s what I primarily use it for. I saw that LumaFusion added multi cam for an additional purchase, which I would have begun to use if this didn’t come out. Glad its here. Great work Apple!.Version: 1.0

ThisWe need a lifetime subscription, just saying.Version: 1.0

Missing featuresAt last Final Cut Pro for iPad. It’s much butter than DaVinci Resolve in touch interface and I liked how Apple implemented the jog wheel and how you can manipulate the time line. It still missing features like video stabilisation, advance 3 colour wheel, auto colour, animate effects, no 3D titles and the list goes on. Just to be clear, this is version 1.2 which Apple added more keyboard short cuts, enable/disable clip and iPhone 15 Pro support. Like Final Cut Pro X 1.0 it lack features which Apple eventually added when they released new updates. Hopefully they would do the same with iPad version of Final Cut Pro, if not then this is waste of paying subscription fee..Version: 1.2

LaPoo.Version: 1.0.1

Amazing startVery impressed with the amount of polish they have right off. Would love for the ability to edit footage from a SSD. I know it’s possible. Please add it..Version: 1.0

GreatThe IPad world is changing. “I can feel it in the water. I can feel it in the air.” It’s safe now, Adobe, to come out and play..Version: 1.0

Finally, it’s here, missing a few things.- Plugins, with Vendors ensuring their plugins work on mac using Apple Silicon Architecture, why are they not available on the iPad ? - Lack of Titles, Backgrounds etc that exist on the Mac not available on the iPad - Colour Grading, fine to get started on the iPad. Will need to move to the Mac for fine grained control - Trying to establish a workflow for moving from Mac to iPad and back for Final Cut Projects, hopefully this improves soon. - Works quite well on M1 iPad Pro… Early days yet though. Still, very very happy to have this working on the iPad for on the go work..Version: 1.0

Almost Nailed ItAdd ability to import LUTs and editing from an external SSD, and this will be a great addition to smaller projects..Version: 1.0

Really want a one time purchaseIt’s good but I want an outright purchase..Version: 1.0.1
