✓ Precision clockNot sure why you guys released a new app with the "precision clock" when every single time I try to turn it on, the app crashes. Every time. Good thing I don't need it..Version: 6.1
✓ SO Disappointed!This is the reason I don't like to update apps--someone gets the idea to "make it better", but screws it up instead! I don't need all the cutesy hearts and flowers or strobe lights. I downloaded this app to get the FLASHLIGHT... like the actual name of the app. I've been using this app for several years --it was practically the first app I ever downloaded with my first iPhone--and was very happy with its functionality. I use it mainly to light my path somewhere or to peer into dark recesses like small mailboxes (at night). I like having the safety of having my phone with me in dark areas and being able to see where I'm going, all without the burden of carrying two separate instruments. ✓ Neat design, but not a flashlightHas some neat screens and effects, but this is not a flashlight. The problem is that the screen dims in the dark on the iPhone. The unlock screen that comes with the iPhone is a better flashlight becuase the auto dim is not enabled when that is started..Version: 0

✓ Handy AppI use this every night. My light switches in my home are few and far between and this has been great when I am heading off to bed. I no longer walk down a long hallway looking for a light switch. It is certainly not a bright light but it is more than useful for walking around in the dark. Definitely recommend. ✓ What does a flashlight need to have?Turn off and on.....if you answer had more switches than off and on, you fail. Why does the whole GD screen need to slide to other colors? Fill the screen with buttons so when I try to light up something but ah ya its strobe time. No lock feature?! Only other acceptable switch would be a lock so I don’t strobe, color screen selection, or close the app if I lock my phone. ✓ Almost perfectI used to love this app, but I'm not sold on some of the new "features". I don't like that the settings page comes up mysteriously even when I'm pretty sure I didn't touch the screen. Just leave the pure white screen alone (I only use the white one normally). That said, I think the is one of the better flashlight apps out there. I don't usually use the LED so I won't comment on that, but I do use the bright white screen every might to navigate around all the kids' toys in the dark. It works for that and I prefer it over the other apps, but I hope the LED isn't going to be a default setting and I hope the screen will return to the pure white again instead of always opening to the "double clicked" screen (that annoys me enough to try other lights). Still, I'll stay loyal in hopes that it goes back to being simpler..Version: 0

If you set your iPhone to automatically adjust screen brightness this app is useless... because when you put it on in the dark (the point of the app) the screen dims and darkens due to the iPhone setting and cannot be over-done by the app settings! Now, it only works intermittently, has features only children would appreciate as opposed to those of us who are adults and wanted it for it’s advertised and intended purpose, a FLASHLIGHT! When turned on, there is an almost 2 second delay before the flashlight is engaged so that the ‘creator logo’ can be displayed on the view screen. Aside from that safety issue, (and yes I do consider it a safety issue; if I want and need a flashlight in the dark, I want it to come on IMMEDIATELY, without delay), it’s become too easy to initiate the strobe or other effects with a slip of the finger. ✓ Limited brightness; boo to Apple, not the developerCertain limitations in the iPhone SDK (Software Development Kit) are understandable. Others are not... like this one: one is not allowed to change the brightness of the screen for any reason. Well, yes, you may say it's for the battery's sake, but there should be exceptions and the best examnple is this (and other) flashlight type applications that have the sole purpose of making light. Well Apple, HELLO!!! LET THEM MAKE LIGHT!!! We all know that the iPhone has this wonderful light sensor that helps automatically adjust the screen brightness, which (obviously) is at its minimum when it's dark, which is exactly the situation one would use a flashlight application. I'm giving the app a 3-star rating, although it's not fair to ding the score for something that the developer has no control upon. I am personally using a full-featured (i.e. full-brightness) flashlight app, not available in the App Store. I can't discuss how to obtain it, you'd have to search the web for that ;-).Version: 0
✓ DisappointingYou cannot count on this app for many things, in fact most things. You can turn the light on, though you’d better not be in a hurry and you’d better not need it for long. You can use it as a flashlight but you’d better not be moving and you’ll need both hands to keep it lit and they’d better be steady. I don’t know about you, but I generally use a flashlight in an unusual situation and I want to pay attention to whatever needs illuminating, not keeping the flashlight lit. This is impossible with this app - it either reverts back to the company logo you see when it’s loading, which takes an inordinate amount of time, or a further step that I’ve never read beyond learning that it is of no use to me in trying to get a flashlight to stay lit. The app is so sensitive to touch and movement that you can’t hold your phone without paying attention to where you’re holding the phone so that you won’t lose the light. That place on the phone where it is safe to hold onto the device and not extinguish the flashlight is that thin area about a half millimeter around the perimeter of your device. Touching anything else will extinguish the light and take you to places within the app you couldn’t care less about in the moment that you most need the light. I could go on about the supposed bells and whistles (like a strobe function, as if that’s any different from trying to use the regular flashlight, since it won’t stay on). But the bottom line is that this is a flashlight - you only get flashes of light - and you’ll get more familiar with the company logo and the page to which the flashlight most often reverts instead of staying on if you move, or if you touch the face of your phone practically anywhere, and all of this dysfunction occurs especially when you need the light the most..Version: 8.0

It can be useful to see into dark places where lights can't reach, but just switching the iPod on gives enough light to see by so this is kinds pointless in that respect, however it does give a slightly brighter light than just a normal screen (only when on a white torch though. ✓ DisappointedJust updated my software on my Apple iPhone and now I can’t figure out how to make the Flashlight app be a Flashlight!?All these screen settings and stuff mean nothing: I can’t turn the light on the flashlight. I depended on this as an emergency light source or just a general flashlight when needed. It used to be an easy to access app and I would just press it to turn on the light Now when I press the icon, the screen brightrns but there’s no flashlight.
