✓ Terrible, but still good at what it does.This app had one job. I don't want to wait for it to load, I don't want to always accidentally go to the settings page. It should just display a white screen. It had a fairly simple job yet somehow managed to fail. However I have recently tried some of the other similar apps and this holds up. ✓ Surprisingly one of the best appsYou might say to yourself, "what's so great about a blank white screen?" well I'll tell ya what. This app is probably more effective than those 2 dollar flashlights you buy at wallmart. What makes it even sweeter is that it is a free app on the device you are most likely to have in your pocket. Say you just want to find something in the dark, but it's not a heavy duty job. Just wop out this app and you can see it clearly. Probably the most fun feature is the strobe light. To access this, simply hold your finger down on the screen for a little bit until the settings show up. Then just change the settings and turn strobe on. Emergency red white and blue will have you entertained forever (as long as you are not prone to epileptic seizures). So all in all don't hate, it does what it does and does it well..Version: 0

✓ Fantastic Idea!!!I had been using my iPhone's display as a light source when in dark areas such as trying to light my way along the driveway, unlocking the door of the house, and even when I needed just a little light to see when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. :P Now Flashlight gives me an easy to use way of obtaining a fully white screen by pushing one button - genius! The use of this app seems pretty straightforward to me, but some don't realize this app cannot adjust your iPhone or iPod DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS which is factory-set to a very low level. Go into settings yourself if you need more light before starting this app, just remember to set it back to the low level when done using Flashlight to preserve battery life and prolong the life of the likely unreplaceable backlight that illuminates your screen. ✓ Use it oftenWhen i first found this app, i was surprised to find a clock. I find that i use the clock and funky backgrounds more than the flashlight, although it is handy. ✓ UsefulI have a 3GS so i don't have the small flash light on the front of my iPhone. This app lights the screen up White. It doesn't sound like much but it's more than enough to light up my whole bedroom. Believe it or not I use this app on a daily basis, mostly as a bedside lamp. It's even proved handy when I've dropped my car keys in the dark, and with the quick and easy to select - extra colours it's the perfect app for making photography light trails! ✓ Does what it says!I can't believe people are complaining about such a simple, yet useful app rofl. Sure you could recreate its effects by just having a white jpg in your camera roll - or you could just download the free app and touch its icon once and have a nice white screen. It takes up a minute about of disk space so why are people whining? If yuu at a party yuu can use the different special effects which are really cool or if yuuve lost yuur keys yuu can just use the white screen to see in tge dark. ✓ Fantastic utilityThis isn't 'just a flashlight'. Its flashlight feature is easy to use and can dim, which is handy. The ability to use the screen as a light panel is great, as is the option to tint the colour (I use it to make the light less harsh). ✓ Works perfectlyI have the iPod touch 4g, which does not have the camera light on the back, so I though I was going to have to settle for what I could get. That was not the case. This app uses the screen as the light, not the camera flash. It is simple to use; when you open it, you get the brightest white light. It opens within 3 seconds every time. To change the brightness, simply swipe your finger up or down. There are so many screens to choose from including any color light and many cool screen savers. I often use it to change the brightness of the screen of the iPod, since the iPod remembers the brightness you were using unless you don't want it to (double tap home, then tap again) because opening settings to change the brightness actually takes longer. I highly recommend this app, especially to iPod users..Version: 6.0

✓ UsefulI have no problems with it. I only got it today and it seems recently on reviews it started to get better. The flashlight is LED is good and strobe gives you and your mates a laugh. It took me some time but I figured out how to get it to open the screen I want when I open the app. Finally. Then took more time to figure out how to get to the setting to keep the screen from closing and thus turning off the flashlight. Finally found that just about the time I was looking for a new flashlight app that worked. Not a fan of the stupid colors but the magnifying glass seeing is nice. REALLY not a fan of the strobe setting. As a health care provider, I really wouldn't recommend anyone with epilepsy or migraines use the app as it is to easy to accidentally trigger the screen while trying to adjust settings. Really, quite frankly, this app feels like a child worked on it due to all the silly settings. I'd take off a star for that too except it is doing what I ask of it. ✓ More updatesFirst, it is free ... keep that in mind. That being said, you should also keep in mind that this is a torch app that has a main job of displaying a white page to see by. Yes, it should when used show up a 100% illumination but sadly it can only do this within the confines of your preset maximum illumination settings in general settings, which is really silly when you think about it given that you have those settings lower to increase battery life but come on - this is a torch, it should max out the illumination automatically regardless of preset levels. This app has some cool little extras like a strobe and other tid bits but on the whole, this does what it is supposed to do. Bottom line is that all I want it to do is have light at the push of a button and this app would get 5 stars if it over rode the preset..Version: 4.1

✓ Not perfect, but probably the bestI have mixed feelings about this one--all I want from a flashlight app is for it to throw a white page and max out the screen brightness instantly when I start it and then return it to its previous brightness when I quit. This app has several annoyances, but none that really ruin it and I'd still say it's the best (btw, I'm an iPod user, so no LED for me). - There is a splash screen, but it's very short (about half a second). I don't know why he does this--surely it can't require a load time for a white screen. - There are a ton of (useless though somewhat fun if you're bored) non-white screens (flashing, chasing lights, holiday lights, etc). I deleted them. - It does indeed override the system brightness and crank it to full. As I understood, that was a no-no in iOS land, but somehow he's gotten away with it. - Unfortunately, as noted in the App description, it -leaves- the brightness at full when you quit. Locking and unlocking restores you to your previous setting. Conclusion: this one's the best but you have to use it right: fire it up, use it, then slide your finger down the screen to dim it to your desire just before quitting. Or just quit and lock. Not perfect, but better than the other flashlights which don't adjust system brightness and are therefore useless since usually, y'know, it's dark when you need a flashlight and so your system brightness is probably turned down..Version: 5.0.1

✓ Hey chech dis out!!Hey you guys do realize with the 2.0 update comes the ability to save whatever is on the screen to photo app?? So just start flashlight then find the color you want and press the sleep button and while holding it down, don't let go, press the home button quickly then let go of both at the same time the screen will flash white then go to normal so if you save the white one you only see the info button disapear. After saving the pic go to the pictures app, and there should be something called "saved", or something like that. Great for saving your score in games that don't save your score. There’s an interface for customised use of the camera flash torch, which is great, but this is the ONLY app that allows you to use the screen as a nightlight/much softer torch in a fully customisable way without fiddling with settings screens every time. Sometimes you just need enough light not to trip over things and don’t want the strikingly acute light of the flash. Great for the middle of the night, and you can leave your phone sitting face up. The app starts up instantly, and you can slight the brightness up and down with your thumb.. perfect. Recently found a small bug and had to email the developer.
