✓ The worst video app everThis app is so poorly designed. I can go pages over pages, but if I summarize all the complaints in one sentence: please allow users to choose how to play videos. I’ll share my 3 biggest cons on this app. 1. Audio is not playable on iPad or iPhone speakers WTH. Seriously. You have to listen with your earphones all the time. I mean, yes most of the time that’s how we do anyway, but WHAT ON EART IS THE POINT OF DISABLING iPhone/iPad SPEAKERS? I just don’t get it. 2. Comment on/off function is not working This app shows live comments from users over video (I personally do not understand the point of having this function, to be honest. It’s just distracting). Fortunately, they put a comment on/off button (Yay). Yet unfortunately, that button does not work on app on any devices. (Oh and also didn’t work on browser too). So you have to put up with bunch of random comments running over your video all the time. 2. This app redirects a user to web browser randomly First off, their website redirects me to App Store and forced me to download this awful app to watch just one news video. I downloaded it (and spent 30+mins to just purchase one news program), and as I tap the play button, it redirected me to my web browser. What!? It didn’t happen all the time. I couldn’t identify a trigger of redirection but don’t care at this point. It’s just so poorly designed..Version: 8.17

✓ No translationsVideo playback is otherwise fine, if you can read Japanese. Desktop browser has translation features and EN/JP comment options, your default is in English, but for the app, it's not? I'm a niconico translator and had hoped to translate some video descriptions on mobile but I was disappointed to discover that even the app configuration screen isn't fully translated. There is no option to set English community translations on or off. Please add this functionality..Version: 6.40

✓ Lack of English User Interface Part 3A new update with English notes yet the app still has a UI 98% in Japanese. The remaining 2% is wanting me to subscribe to Premium in English. For the people who want to watch videos only available on Niconico but can't navigate the Japanese interface, avoid this app at all costs. Use the web version. It has a relatively better interface since it has English. Still a terrible app for international users. Even if Niconico is primarily for Japanese audiences, it has catered to English speakers. ✓ FINALLY- it actually works nowNOTE: If you have an Apple TV, NicoNico does have a stripped down an app for it, but you need to grab it through iTunes Japan. Ironically, it’s easier to wrestle with than the unfriendly iPhone app. I've been trying for years to access my NicoNico account to view the live concerts I joined their premium service for, across both Kindle Fire (semi-Android/proprietary OS) and my iPhone, to no avail. Crash after crash the moment I launched content. That's finally fixed. I watched my first concert marathon broadcast on this app this morning. Excellent. Now only if they made finding the live broadcasts schedule and bookmarking them easier on mobile (notoriously difficult). And corrected the site and app international event time/date glitches (been happening since 2012). And optionally offered the form notices that users see often in English for non-fluent viewers out there. Well, at least the app finally works..Version: 6.76

Don't get me wrong I love Japanese and all that stuff but I just can't, Can't read kanji!! I want to post videos of my own but I can't even find out where I'm supposed to post them! It would be great if this app was translated so I can maneuver through the app with no problem.
