✓ Wrong changesUnnecessary changes to presentation rather than improving content which remains somewhat thin..Version: 10.0.3
✓ LameNot worth paying for. 1. Word of the Day is set up backwards. Instead of giving you a German word they give you an English word. Backwards from every other Word of the Day app I have used. 2. Bare minimum of a dictionary. For example, if you look up the word ‘boy’ in the app, it gives you only a one word translation, Junge, and absolutely nothing else. Correct, but what about the other 3 definitions and all the sample sentences that Collins’ full website has? Really - 1 word on the app vs 4 complete definitions and 7 samples on the full website. Overall, a very bare bones app - for the cost a full dictionary should be provided..Version: 10.0.11

✓ Basic documentation missingThere is no introduction explaining the abbreviations used in the dictionary. This is essential to it's usability, but I have not been able to find it after many attempts and navigation..Version: 8.2.2

✓ Good App but not quite thereI love the games in this app it is a great way to learn new words which is why I downloads the app, however in the help information in the app it states one can download the dictionary for use offline (but function not available), one can use camera and microphone functions to search for words (also not available) and that there is a speak function to hear the pronunciation of words (also not there). If is also extremely important to be able to see verb conjugations but this is also not available. Given the above I'm quite surprised at the cost of this application..Version: 8.1.3

✓ Good, but flawedWhile this is cheap for a proper dictionary (£12 being the norm for Collins) it has some problems. Most notably, it doesn't bring up the keyboard when you start the app. Instead, you have to tap the text entry space which has a bit of lag - and a couple of seconds of lag each launch is very tedious if you're checking lots of words every day. Bring the keyboard up by default and it'd be a lot better..Version: 0

✓ Seems to work now under iOS 4.Seems to work now under iOS 4. Thanks. One criticism: Saying in the app ad that it is now "Optimized for iOS 4" is a little silly. Old Review: Does not work under iOS 4. Crashes on startup under iOS 4. Was a nice (if a little pricey) program before so I hope they will update it to run under iOS 4. I hope they won't leave it broken hoping to sell the even pricier Pro version. That would be completely unethical..Version: 0
✓ Disappearing keyboard and duo!Why should we choose the language? Can’t the dictionary guess what language the word belongs to? And when we press “x” to erase the word we searched for last, why does the keyboard disappear? We will type again!! ✓ TerribleDoesn’t show conjugations of verbs. Doesn’t show plurals of most nouns. Translations seem to be largely brief and lack nuance compared to other dictionaries. I’m not sure why this is, since the Collins German online, and other Collins German dictionary apps, have long detailed translations and conjugations and plurals. I’m asking for my money back and choosing a different app. Avoid!.Version: 10.0.11

✓ Where's the book I payed for gone?In this version you can't just scroll through the book in either language. Now useless for me. It's not the book/app I paid for anymore. Please give us back this option..Version: 6.1.3
✓ MrThis app pesters me at least twice a week to give it a five star review. It is not a five star app (see below) and it is inappropriate and intrusive to nag and pressurise users to rate it as excellent. I use a French dictionary app based on Larousse and its search function (the core task of a dictionary) is *much faster* than this app. This is an average app with a tiresome tendency to invite you to tell everyone how brilliant it is (isn't)..Version: 8.5.4
