Run 5k - couch to 5k program for Positive User Reviews

Buy this App!About three months ago, I was up above 270 and looking for a way to start getting back in shape. I figure $2.99 wasn't a lot to spend for an app - as long as it did its job. I was NOT disappointed! Having just completed Week 9 a few days ago, I have seen a big difference after using Couch to 5K. I'm now under 250, have had to buy some smaller shirts, and have been asked by numerous people if I've lost weight. Obviously, the app is only as good as the one who uses it. It won't magically get you in shape, but three-day-a-week workouts with a maximum of 30 minutes of running is a great strategy. I just turned on a podcast, started the app, and did what it told me to do. I still have a ways to go before I'm as fit as I hope to be, but Couch to 5K gave me a great start! My next goal is to run a marathon next year!.Version: 0

Zero to HeroHave done seven weeks and just run 25mins. Can't quite believe I have done it. Just updated though and it has changed all the runs. Back down to 15 mins. It has ruined my flow and I may have to look elsewhere to find my running coach..Version: 2.0

Great appThis is a great app. I've wanted to become a runner for a while now and have not had the stamina to. I'm on week 5 now and for the first time I felt the 'i could run forever' feeling. It's a great feeling. I couldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for this app. My goal is the 5k cancer run in July. Hopefully I'll have completed the program if my back and shin splints let me! Oh, and don't be afraid to repeat days or even weeks if you have to. I've done this a couple of times because of long recovery periods due to injury..Version: 0

Excellent app, really helped meI've been using this app for five weeks now, just finished week 5 day 1. I'm feeling much fitter and have lost over 6kg using this to help me run on the treadmill at my gym. You can select a playlist from within the app, or just start playing music fro the iPod app before starting it. I recommend that you stretch before and after the 5 minute warm-up and cool-down sessions as well. I'm hoping that I manage to make it to the end of week 9, day 3. I usually lock my iPhone screen whilst running and rely on the audio cues for walking and running to avoid accidentally touching the on screen controls. I've only got a 3G at the moment so I've not tried it in multi-tasking mode, but to be honest I'm too busy running to answer any calls or send any messages, etc. I've already recommended it to my gym partner who is going to try it out soon. I've found the Twitter & Facebook logging helpful and add my calculated calories and treadmill distance to the posts manually in the app..Version: 0

Just Completed and Loved itI was 140lbs over weight n never ran in my life. This app help me get moving when I never thought I could run. It was an awesome app and now I'm doing the couch to 10k. You will not be disappointed. I'm down 40lbs now thank you..Version: 2.0.1

Includes everything you needThis app is fab, has no nonsense audio cues and allows u to easily access ur music. Has a really good warm up and cool down stretch section. Also tells u during ur run what ur average speed is eg "ur currently running a 13min mile". All I wanted. Just remember to allow notifications otherwise the audio won't work as soon as ur phone goes on screen lock!.Version: 6.3

Really GoodThe intervals are perfect and with the added iTunes syncing it makes it easier to see what's playing. It also helps to start playlists..Version: 6.8

Love this appIt's perfect for running Couch to 5k and sticking to the program. Ticking off the runs on the app keeps me wanting to come back and do the next one. It's also got audio, visual, and vibrate cues to tell you when to switch from running to walking. Also had pause and continue for when you're tired. Amazing and good looking app that has changed my life!.Version: 1.4

AwesomeVery simple app but very useful. It's exactly what I was looking for to help me get out of the couch and run a 5K. The jog-walk intervals are effective in building up my stamina..Version: 0

Couch to 5kThis is excellent. I've tried alternating walking and running by timing or guessing....hopeless....this programme is great....just do what your told whilst listening to music or whatever. Half way through week three and going beautifully. I look forward to my next session...thanks for getting me off the couch !.Version: 0

Awesome!!This is a great app! I started using it last week and its great so far!! Only problem is... some of the intervals are a bit out - on W1D1, I had to run for 30 seconds and then walked for about 2 mins. Other than that... fantastic!!.Version: 0

Simply amazing results...if you are honest with yourselfI should of written this review months ago, but I guess I have been to busy running!!! <Grin> Hands down, this is the most amazing App that I have ever seen. As a 43 year old man who was never able to run more than a 50 yard dash before, this app has changed my life. After following the app religiously (NO CHEATING!!!), I was able to run my first 5k back in November. Now I run three 5k's a week and I have never felt better. If you are wondering if you can do this, or if this app is worth the 3 bucks let me tell you that YOU CAN!!!! and IT IS!!! Give it a shot. If you are honest with yourself and really do what the app tells you to do, you will be running before you know it. Have fun, and keep the faith!!!.Version: 0

Great motivatorExcellent app. Keeps you on track to reaching your goal..Version: 1.4

I'm a broken womanI've never done a run before so I'm using this to get ready for a 5k race in 9 weeks. Really helps you keep motivated, especially when your mates sponsor you so much you cant back out. Am discovering pain where i didnt know i had muscles, but i'm beginning to see why people say running is addictive. Already starting to think about 10k... Half marathon... Marathon... (you know... If the 5k doesnt kill me first!!) ;).Version: 0

LOVE ITAfter having 2 kids I felt very lazy and unfit. Never did any exercise. I thought I would give this a go and I love it. I am currently up to W5D2 and I am determined to finish it. I feel so mich better after every session..Version: 0

Amazing!Made a runner out of a lazy couch potato..Version: 6.8

Life ChangerI’ve used this app since 2011. It helped me lose 30 lbs that year. I continue to use it when I get out of my exercising habits. The intervals are wonderful! Best $ you will ever spend if you are a beginner..Version: 6.8

Never would have believed it.Never thought I would have been able to run but this app is fantastic at helping a scared non-runner get going. Easy to use and nice looking. Could add more features, like gps maps and pace, but that would just be icing on the cake. Brilliant - can't recommend it enough. Looking for a bridge to 10k app by Felt Tip Inc now..Version: 1.4

Couch to 5k Rocks!I was in such poor shape that I thought I would need twice as long to complete this program - I was wrong. It was as though this app was written for me: a 58-year-old, 312-pound couch potato. I followed the program religiously and on day one of week nine, I was running 30 minutes non-stop. No, I did not make it to 5k; however, my goal was 30 minutes of non-stop running. (4k is better than no k). I have enthusiastically recommended this app to several folks, one of whom dowloaded it before our conversation ended. The short video by the author on the website was inspirational and informative. I may be slow, but at least I am moving forward - one step at a time. Even if you have never run in your life, or quit running several years ago as I did, this app is for you! I am now a 295-pound jogger and will start the "bridge to 10k" app in a few hours..Version: 1.4

Where has this app been all my life?!My new favourite app. I love the automation - I barely looked at the screen and just waited for the prompts to start walking / running. The halfway point prompt was a nice touch. Excellent work, and well worth the entry price..Version: 0

Life changingWhen I started this app I was having trouble with even the first few weeks even though I'm in my teens and very active. Slowly I began to lose interest as I found myself doubting I could run the first 20 min with out stopping. Then one day I decided I should might as well try. After the workout ended I kept going. I stopped once I got to 30 minutes. I laughed at myself for thin I couldn't even do twenty. Some may think I'm over reacting but it has changed my whole outlook and I am so much more confident in my everyday life. I will be running my first 5k race soon. It's the Man run for prostate cancer. I will be running to honor my grandfather, a survivor. Please get this app. It's the best and as soon as I run the 5k I will start training for a 10k..Version: 1.4

Worth the CashI've had this app for 7-months and am really enjoying it. I've pretty much kept to the program and am happy to report that I've lost 11 kilos on the Couch To 5K program. If you're serious about getting started I highly recommend this app for you. Good luck!.Version: 0

Incredible3 months ago I could barely run for more then a minute or two. Now i am running 5K straight and hope to reach 10k in time. I cant reccomend this app enough. Its amazing what you can do with a little discipline and structure. I've lost 25 lbs thanks to this app. Get it if you are serious about getting into running! You will not regret it..Version: 1.4

Great app for people who needs numbersI'm the type of guy who needs to see results in the form of numbers, etc. This app is great for that. Plus it's structured to get you into a running program easily. I like how it also allows music to play during your run, and also be able to use the Nike+ feature (also great if you don't already use it). The notifications are a bit loud, but you can adjust the volume of the beeps. Overall I'd say this app was worth the $2.99 and would recommend it to people who are trying to get into jogging/running for exercise..Version: 0

Fabulous. 11 kgs lighterI've just completed the program thanks to this app. I tried C25k without apps and without success. I had to repeat weeks 4 & 7 but I am 45. The stretches are important as I did them every time and had no muscle soreness. Yes the diagrams are a bit basic but you only need them for the first week or two. The only improvement would be a GPS addition..Version: 1.4

What a smashing little app!Just started using this app with my cross trainer as I don't like running on my own outside and it's great. Worked perfectly fine and really easy. Looking forward to getting more into it. And hopefully being able to run a bit further than up the stairs! Loving it!.Version: 0

ExcellentHad this app for a while and loved it, but the in app music made me write the review! It was the only little gripe I had, and now I have none!! The app works well and the 30 minute sessions are long enough to make u realise you've done something but short enough to fit in almost anytime - I love it.Version: 0

Top appI am about to start week 3 and have to say this may be the best £1.79 I have eve spent. I did nor run at all before getting it and have loved hitting the targets in the runs. Can't wait to follow it all the way through to week 9 as it had helped me start to feel fitter and healthier..Version: 1.4

I think I can call myself a runner nowThis app is awesome! I'm a heavy smoker and I've just finished the program, from barely being able to run a minute without stopping to completing my first ever 5k! Best money I've spent on the App Store as now I feel great and have lost just over a stone throughout using the program. I'm looking forward to continuing the training with the 10k app even considering giving up smoking!! big thanks to the people who developed this app!.Version: 4.3

Love this appI've tried this training program before, timing the intervals myself without any luck or progress until now! The voice prompts and on screen timer makes this so easy to follow. The stretches screen is also good reminder to make sure you do them. One of my favorite apps. Excellent..Version: 0

Keep coming backI keep looking for a better app, but there isn't one!.Version: 5.3

New runnerLove love love this app! No watching the clock, just set up a good running music mix and go!!! I even want to run a little longer..... Thanks for the app..Version: 1.4

Life ChangingThis app really works. I am astonished that I can now jog non-stop for 28 minutes around our local reservoir. I never imagined I would be able to do this. I have lost a stone in weight since starting and I'm up to week 8. Next week I begin training for a sprint triathlon - using another I-phone app! Thank you!.Version: 1.4

Great app that holds up to its hype...The couch to 5k program is great in general, but this app makes it so much easier. No more struggling with a stopwatch trying to make sure you time it out right... this app does it all for you with visual and audio cues for each interval. It does exactly what it is designed to do and has a stylish interface to boot. I really like that it gives you verbal cues at the halfway mark to give you a little motivation to keep going. I did not experience the issue on my iPod touch that an earlier reviewer mentioned with the music volume remaining low after the transitions. Nor did I experience the issue with the time clock not working properly, although I must admit that I keep my device unlocked on the treadmill ledge and watch the clock the whole workout. Maybe those errors were on an earlier version..Version: 1.3

From 5k to marathonerI started running when I saw my backside in a storefront window. I did a double...no wait...triple take and wondered what happened on the flip side. I purchased the app (first app purchased), and because I spent money, was going to see the entire program through. I got shin splints and was in pain. About week 6, things started feeling better. I completed the program and went onto run 2 marathons. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to start my running career!.Version: 2019.12.5

Great!!Love this app, I have knee problems and followed this, with no pain! Also love how it beeps, buy this if you really want to run a 5k.Version: 2.0.1

Great just a few flaws thoughThis programme has really helped me. I find it fantastic that by lesson 3 each week i am finding it easier than the lesson one of that week. The simplicity of it is what finally made me get off my bum and start doing something. One issue i have is that if the silent button gets put on by mistake then the commands dont come through, even though ipod music still does, and i find i have walked too far or run too far. Also, as there is no gps feature you cant know if you are doing a decent speed. Customisable alarms and volumes would also be good. All in all great though..Version: 0

Love itUse it everyday. No issue.Version: 6.0.4

Good App for beginnersI had never run more than 5 minutes at once but this app built my endurance and kept me going. I have since purchased the ‘ bundle’ which includes the 10 km and 20 km goals.Version: 7.0.1

Seriously changed my lifeI bought my first iPhone in 2010. This was a recommended app. I downloaded it and started using it on August 2nd 2010. It was a 9 week program and it took me 11 weeks to complete as I couldn’t get through a couple of the weeks completely at that time. Today (2019) I am in training for my 3rd half Ironman (September) and my 25th full marathon (November). Thank you. I picked the right app at the right time in my life for serious change..Version: 7.0.1

Love this app!!!I had been debating whether or not to buy this app for a while since I don't have a treadmill and running outside just wasn't an option all the time. So I waited till it finally warmed up and decided to purchase this app and boy, I am glad that I did. I've only just started (I'm on week 2) but I am loving it! I look forward to this workout. I love the simplicity of the app. It would be really nice if it had a calories burned function and the ability to shuffle your songs but other than that this app is awesome!! Definitely would recommend to someone that has been thinking about getting this. Thanks for getting me motivated!!!.Version: 1.4

True coach potatoBest workout app for the most out of shape individual possible!!! Literally took my ace of the couch and onto the tread and then out the door and now starting c210k!!! If I can do it then anybody can do this....Version: 1.4

Feeling motivated! Will be 40 next birthday and have been in denial for a long time about quite how unfit I had become, until I found myself out if breathe climbing the escalators on the underground! I've tried similar running programmes in the past but that required you to do the counting in your head, and I didn't persevere. This is so much better - you can relax and run to your favourite music until prompted to switch between running and walking, and posting status updates on Facebook are very motivating with all your mates watching!! Really well paced so far and highly recommended. Go for it!.Version: 1.4

Just What I Was Looking For!I hadn't run in quite a while (I hike a lot though) and wanted to do more cardio training. Distance was no problem, but not at any kind of running speed. I read an article about interval training, and I thought "that would make a great app." So I looked for one, and found Couchto5K. I'm 43 and had thought I could never get back to running (I had tried but ended up queasy and out of breath). I'm on week 4, and though I may have to go back and repeat this week, I am definitely making progress. Sweating? Yes. Constantly gasping for breath? No. The audio appears to be a bit too quiet on my iPod Touch 1G with any but very calm music. I may need to repeat the whole sequence with emphasis on increasing speed. User will need to find a starting pace that works for them on week one and then stick to that pace (focus on heartrate not speed). Could use some refinement, but this app may just be a life-changing experience for me..Version: 0

Love love LOVE this appI love the user interface, I love the lack of nauseous “inspirational” cliches, and I LOVE how good this app made me feel within 9 weeks. Thank you!.Version: 7.0.1

Great appGreat app for free. I miss some of the old features. When I first started this app many years ago I was able to easily shadow progress on social media. The app also tracked your gps path and had a map shown as part of your results. Both of these features are not present anymore. Also on last nights run it no longer reminded me when I was halfway. I always enjoyed this because I know when to turn back around and end up back home at the end of the work out. But overall if you struggle with endurance running, this is the app to use as long as you stay consistent..Version: 2019.10.2

Incredible!I've wanted to get fit for a while now, but for various reasons (most surrounding the fact I'm quite lazy) I haven't managed to do it. I downloaded this on a whim, and it is the best app I have bought. It's motivated me and kept my progress steady. I'm now on my last week of the course, ran for half an hour straight today! I'm sure some people scoff at such a thing, but for me it is a massive achievement! Just buy the app. There's not alot more to say than just buy it!.Version: 0

Excellent appThis app is great for doing the couch to 5K program without having to listen to the awful techno music that seems to be the mainstay of most running podcasts. It's also perfect for doing the program on a treadmill, as you get plenty of warning for when to adjust your speed. Watching the time elapse for each section is very motivating, and checking off each completed workout is great. The program itself works. If you follow the regimen, you will be a runner by the end. The only upgrade I'd love to see: a way for the program to keep running if you hit the home key to go to ipod and change your music choice. Or maybe an in-app access to the ipod? I sometimes found that a particular playlist or podcast wasn't working for me on a given run, and wanted to change to a different track. Doing this paused the time elapsed counter, and if I didn't pay attention to the treadmill clock, I ended up all off schedule. Not a huge problem, as the end result was I ran a little further on those days, but still, it would be a nice fix. Overall, a truly workable app that does exactly what it says it will, and makes it easy to do the C25K program..Version: 0

Couch to 5kGreat app - made me run which I never thought I could do!.Version: 0

GreatI love the simplicity and effectiveness of this app. Now I am using the apple watch version and there is a little annoying bug. The app comes back on by itself even after I close it, and I cant see the clock because it’s always on the screen..Version: 2020.5.12

Running again! This app is great! I am back on my feet again and this simple app has helped motivate me. I would love an integrated distance calculator or gps, calorie burnet etc but then it might just get complicated... Looking forward to any improvement that are made. Thank you!.Version: 1.5

Amazing results!I have never ever run 1km in my life, I entered into a fun run so I thought I'd give this app a go, I'm up to week 7 day 2, and I just kept on running, today was my first ever 5km run. It's amazing how quickly you improve!! I struggled to run 60 seconds in week 1 and now I'm running 5km. Seriously life changing!.Version: 1.4

Great AppNever thought an iPhone app could get me running, but it did. I'm just about to start week 4 and I'm actually enjoying the process. If you've always wanted to be a runner but couldn't get going, this app will do it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the fact that the music controls aren't very good (but you can start the music then the app, so it's not really a big deal)..Version: 1.4

LightLove this app! I jog at night and would give this 6 stars if somhow you could incorporate my phone's flashlight into the app; not so i can see where i'm running but so others can see me.Version: 4.0

Great for beginnersThis app is working for me, who has never done any running. Starting week 8 and the workouts are just right. This V1.1.1 now automatically lowers the music sound so you can hear the voice prompts better. Way to go guys! Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get off the couch and run! I use it with my 3GS without a hitch..Version: 0

I like it!I'm not an expert runner, just a beginner. I really liked this app because it's simple. You can use it with your music playing and the voice tells you when to run or walk. The only thing that is a bit of a downer is if you're really blasting the tunes and you're exercising outside.. you might not hear the voice. At the gym it's fine. For the price, it's definitely worth a try :).Version: 0

Life changingWhen I first started running, I could barely last for two minutes without panting and being short of breath and exhausted. By week seven ( two weeks ahead of schedule ) I was running 5K in 35 minutes without stopping once and still plenty of energy to spare. Nothing works as good as this app!.Version: 1.4

Fantastic app.I've used this app to get me kick started with exercising. I don't have a lot of free time and workouts are around 30 mins which is perfect. I'm about half way through the programme and it's going great! Once I've finished, I'll probably repeat it but try to run faster on the running parts and/or jogging on the walk parts. TL;DR - brilliant app. Well worth getting..Version: 0

Everybody needs this!I have NEVER run a 5k, or let's be honest, a mile. This app gets you motivated. I hate running and I can do this. The program is every other day and only half an hour. I'm moving through week three right now and am noticing more endurance from week one when running for one minute almost killed me. Each week is a new regimen; just when your comfortable and thinking that "this isn't that bad," you push the envelope a little bit more, but definitely not in a bad way. It's very motivating to use with Nike+ and hear that you beat your mile time (when it happens). My favorite part is knowing that the next time I can cut a few more seconds off my mile time. GREAT APP!!!! UPDATE: I'm on week six and loooving this app. Never in my life have I looked forward to the running days more! I'm always like 'i'll never make that," and when I do it's a great feeling! UBER UPDATE: Tonight was my last night of the program! I'm running a 5k this weekend. Not quite at a ten minute mile yet (11:30) but can run 3 straight miles now! It is also worth mentioning that i weigh 314.4 lbs. If i can do it, ANYBODY can!!!!.Version: 0

Def Worth itI will be the first to admit that I am not someone who likes to run. My motto used to be "dont run unless being chased." I purchased this app as something else i could not use but could say i gave it a try. Well you would not believe the motivation from just a voice saying "Run" or "Now walk". I used to run around the neighborhood giving it my all and always walked back home huffing and puffing. The first time I used this app I went farther than I ever had (granted it was not all running) but I felt better about myself after my first time. I am looking forward to completing my first 5K after completion of this app. WHAT AN AMAZING FEELING. All I ask is you guys come up with an app that precedes this app. Something to help keep us going beyond the couch to 5K..Version: 0

Very impressive so farIt's absolutely brilliant to be able to have the voice prompts tell you when to run and when to walk. I have already done the first day (yesterday) and found that I was easily able to do it without too much difficulty. I am pretty unfit so it was a big deal for me to be able to do that, and I am very confident that I will be able to see it through the 9 weeks and come out the other side a runner! The thing I love is being able to run my Nike+ AND my music in the background, you just need to get Nike+ running first then this app and it works really well. Totally recommend it - you wont be disappointed..Version: 0

Worked for me! Great training wheels. In january I was a sedentary computer programmer that couldn't run for 50m without panting and never in my life was able to keep doing the same exercise for too long. Today it's the middle of march and I just came back from an Adidas sponsored 5K race and feel very proud of myself, using no more than this app. This is a great app for beginners: all you have to do is put the headphones on and listen to the instructions. You can choose a playlist ,but since I like listening to podcasts, I simply used the itunes app and switched back to couchto5k: it lowers the volume, coaches you into running or walking and then sets the volume back (I had some bugs with the volume not coming back to full). My morning walk with the dog became a exercise for both of us! The app is not perfect: if you switch out of it it doesn't keep running, for example, and I would like to have more options for audio playing (I listen to the audio track of video podcasts and iTunes U lectures all the time), but I found a great tool for beginners. At the final weeks of the program, when it's mostly "walk for 5 minutes, run 28" I started using runKeeper, which has more options and tracks your gps – but I would recommend using this app as a training wheel before using runkeeper or the Nike one..Version: 1.4

Great!I’ve been running on and off for years, and this app is always great at helping me get back on track and work up my strength again. Recently got an Apple Watch and was thrilled that this app worked well with it out of the box, even when I leave my phone behind at home. Great stuff! Keep it up, Felt Tip! I appreciate you!.Version: 2020.5.12

Great app!I never thought I could be a runner but this app changed that. It showed me how to build my endurance gradually and in no time I'm running further than ever before. I would highly recommend this app!.Version: 1.4

Great app...I've tried this application out this morning and I really enjoyed it!! Put my music on first and then set the app running. I've downloaded the total workout albums from itunes and they are perfect to use with 'Couch to 5K'. Love that you don't have to 'clockwatch', this app does it all for you. A perfect 'Race 4 Life' training partner/tool....Version: 0

Really motivationalReally slick interface. Better than the other similar more expensive one. Truly worth it..Version: 0

Commit and it will happenI've done it. From not being a runner to running 5K, and I'm not even fit. The interval system works great, and this app works very well these days. The only thing I don't like in this version is you don't know how long upcoming intervals will be once you start. Get it, do it, save health care costs!.Version: 6.0.3

Great appHave used this app a couple of times now as I've taken up running again after a long break. The app is really easy to use and you can use it at the same time as the Nike+GPS app, so I can use all the Nike features (including the announcements) as well as get the announcements from this app, and play music from the iPod at the same time. The routines are realistic and push me enough to feel like I'm working, but not so hard that I feel it's unachievable. Does everything I need it to! Well done developers..Version: 0

MarathonI found this app 18months ago and loved it. I gradually built up my times and now, I am training for a marathon! This is exactly what i needed just to get me going! I even gave it to my mum an she loved it too, we are now regularly running 10kms together, amazing app!.Version: 1.4

Love itInterface is pleasant to look at and easy and use and I love that I can control my playlist thru the app. I far prefer using this app than keeping track of intervals myself. :).Version: 1.4

Simplicity but so awesome!I want to use my Touch when i work out, but I hate having to pull it out and look at the thing every few minutes. This program is based on a time that gives you audio cues to move you to the next step in the program.... It gives you four beeps and then tells you to run,Including a log, BM|I tracker, weight tracker, etc..Version: 0

ExcellentThis is an excellent app. I've just completed week 5.1 and feel really good. I'm a 44 year old locksmith and the only exercise I've done for the past fifteen years is carry a tool box backwards and forwards from my van. When I started this five weeks ago I weighed nearly eighteen and a half stone and now combined with a little sensible eating I'm down to sixteen seven. So thank you couch to 5k you have given me a new lease of life..Version: 1.4

One of the best exercise apps there is!Well worth the money. The first week I tried it I thought I was going to die, but once you get used to it you start to really crave the exercise! I run every weekend morning now. The energy it gives you is totally worth it. Plus I'm way fitter now than before! Get this app, seriously!.Version: 1.4

Excellent!!Wow this is fantastic! I've just used it for the first time and I've done more and pushed myself harder than just listening to my music alone. Well worth getting, I am a begginner at this running business and this is going to help me lots. Thankyou!.Version: 0

Love it!I think I had an older version that autoupdated at some point & I'm really glad it did! The old version had some weird volume issues but those are all sorted out - this version is really stable and I'm loving it. I look forward to when I will need to buy the 10k and the 21k!.Version: 6.0.3

FantasticGreat app. Works a treat for those needing motivation on the go to keep pushing yourself. Well done.Version: 1.3

BrilliantTotally fantastic app. Never thought I would make the end, but stuck it out and am now not only a lot trimmer, but a regular runner. Not many apps can change your life for the better, but this is one of them. I owe it a lot..Version: 0

Gotta love itJust finished the program and best of all injury free for a 51 year old. Would highly recommend!! Just purchased the 10k version to go the next stage..Version: 2.0.1

Great app but..Love this app, use it all the time. There has been one problem since the last update, where did the audio cues go?? It's a bit hard to look at the phone when it's strapped to my arm to know when I have to start running. Please fix!.Version: 2.0.1

Great stuffThis is a great app. Very motivating, I am addicted. The app works well, is simple to use, and is well worth the investment. C'mon princess, get moving off the couch!!.Version: 1.3

Worth every cent. This app has made the C25K challenge an absolute pleasure, rather than a battle. The audio cues make it so easy to forget about your watch, so that you can simply concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other. Hoping that future versions will actually do my workout on my behalf but otherwise this is a brilliant app!.Version: 0

Perfect! This app has everything you need to embark on the C25K program. Basically, it organises your workouts for you, telling you when to warm up (& showing you what stretches to do), and then tells you when to run & when to walk. You start whatever music you want to listen to & then fire up this app. The alerts (of when to run/walk) are loud, clear and a nice touch is the way the colour scheme changes to reflect whether you're on a run stage or walk stage. You're also notified when you're half way through your session, so that you can turn round and start heading for home. Nice app, obviously put together by someone who has followed the C25K program himself..Version: 0

Worth it!!This app was by far the best app I could have purchased. I found myself in a rut and had not done any form of exercise in months. I tried to start running again after months of no exercise and I came back from my 1 mile run feeling sick and utterly exhausted. This app has increased my endurance in a gradual manner. After my first time I came back sweating and feeling like I had a great workout; more importantly, I did not feel as though I was going to pass out and get sick from my run!! The only thing I would recommend to users is to focus on your speed and try not to maintain it so that you are not cheating yoursef (especially when it is time to "walk"...keep that heart rate up!!). Thanks for a fantastic app!! For the future, I hope that this app can have a map feature so that you can track how far you actually went...because in the end, if you are not running at an adequate pace, you are not going to make your 5k!.Version: 0

Love this app!I've been running on my tredmill everyday for the past week and it started to get boring so I got this app. It makes running so much funner! The fact you can listen to your own music aswell makes this app great! I would recomend this to anyone who wants to loose weight or just do some running..Version: 0

I highly recommend this appMy wife started on the C25K about a month ago and really loved the program. So much she talked me into doing it (err... Just Swim... and Run?). For her it was a pain keeping track what time interval she was on, etc., until she found a few Podcasts that covered beeped. I was not a fan of the offerings, so I went looking for an app and came across this one. I only have completed the second workout of the first week, but I am very happy. I play my playlist on the iPod, then kick off this app. I get audio cues, which are clearly heard over my music, and have no problems when the iPhone display locks (granted I can't glance at my time left until the next interval, but since I can hear the cue, there is little need). Once complete, the day is noted for future reference. This is not to say there isn't room for improvement. For example, a list of pre-run stretches can be brought up. I would love to see a configurable time for each strech where the current strech is displayed, with audio cue when it is time to change(so once I memorize them I don't need to look). This, however, doesn't interfere with the core purpose of the app. I am very happy with my purchase..Version: 0

Slick!!Easy to use. Love that it works with my own music. This app actually makes running fun!!.Version: 0

Terrific app!At 6'4" and 125kg, i've never been built for running. This app has really helped me keep motivated while running and after 2 weeks I am feeling fitter than ever. It's the only running app that works with Nike+. I am really determined to get to the 5k goal. I would like to see more features that would increase the longevity of the app such as longer distance programs, gps route tracking or sharing your route or training progress with friends..Version: 0

It worksThis concept really works! I started this in October 2010 and followed the slow and steady approach Earlier this month I completed my first Marathon in Melbourne. You can do it!.Version: 1.5

AmazingBefore I got this app I laughed "yeah right ME running for 20 minutes without stopping!" but 8 weeks later here I an running 28 min! One week away from the finish Only thing I wish there was a bridge to 10k offered by felt tip as this app left me wanting more and to train for my first 10k!!!.Version: 1.3

Done! Not only did I make the 8 weeks, I itch on the off running days to go out anyway!.Version: 2.0.1

Money well spentSome weeks are much harder than others an I've found myself repeating a few weeks because of my busy schedule BUT this has been my best app purchase. I went from no exercise/the occasional walk to being able to run longer and further than ever before. If you're looking for a helpful app to get you into shape, this is it. On top of that, it has a sleep design, music player works great, and the timer/vocal coach are handy..Version: 1.4

GreatHi I love it when your phone locks but it on sound then you can still hear what she is saying.Version: 2.0.1

This App works!I cannot believe how well this app has worked - 9 weeks ago I could hardly manage the 90 second run - now I am running 30 minutes non stop and loving it. Now need a 5k to 10k app to keep me going!.Version: 0

300lbs.This app has been the best investment in myself EVER! I started using it week 1 day one thinking "yeah right, I"M going to run for longer than sixty seconds and not fall over....SURE"! You see I was 353lbs when I started and what appealed to me was the incremental fasion of gradually pushing just a 'little bit' more each time. Well UPDATE is that I just finished week 5 which means that I just ran for 20 MINUTES without stopping!!! I NEVER would have thought I could do that 6 weeks ago when I made this commitment to myself! With little else but a reduced calorie diet I have lost 28lbs to date. Do the math..I ran for 20 minutes at 325lbs! You can too!!! This app would be worth it if were much more due to the value of life I have obtained through it!!! Thank you Couch to 5K!!!.Version: 0

Love this appThis app is wonderful. I've been using it for years and always come back to it when I need to restart my running routines after injuries, etc. or need a well structured interval practice. My only wish list item for the app would be to have a way to isolate the running pace during the running intervals. Right now it just gives an overall pace average over the whole session and the walking breaks can prevent us from getting a good sense of our running speeds. Thanks!!.Version: 2019.12.5

Simple and effectiveI have just started running and this app really helps me get into it. The instructions are clear and I love being able to track my progress..Version: 0

Brilliant App!Just getting back into the gym after a lazy spell of about 5 months so needed an app to get my cardio fitness back up and this is it! I'm only just on Week 2 but i love it already. It works on an interval scheme - Week 1, for example, has you running (or jog as it terms it) for 60 secs then walking for 90 secs. Great for improving stamina and the interval aspect is great for burning fat! Each week has three sessions each with the jogging time steadily increasing with each week. You can post your completion status to Facebook or twitter (which has helped me keep motivated) I do all of my running on a treadmill and the app works there as well - i'll try and stick to two speeds; one for walking and one for jogging and go back and forth between the two - that way, this app has great potential to be re-used - i'll go from the start but just up either the treadmill incline or my fixed running/jogging speed! If you're an outdoor runner, i'm lead to believe it'll work with your GPS-based run trackers! It works perfectly with the iPhone iPod as it dims the volume of a track slightly to give you the "Walk Now!", "Jog Now!" verbal prompts before turning it back up. I'm thrilled with this app and it's well worth the money - no reason why it could be used for other gym cardio machines (i'm eyeing the cross-trainer as we speak) so it'll pay for itself over and over again! Next stop: the "Couch to 10k" app! Well done, Felt Tip Inc..Version: 1.4

GreatI love this app. I usually give up so easily but this helps me stay motivated. I am part way through week 3, and am determined to stick to it. Thank you so much for a brilliant app!.Version: 1.4

Great appI finished the 5k program yesterday, it took me a year and a half, I had real trouble getting past week 5 mainly due to talking myself out of it. Once I got determined and made a point of doing it every second day and not repeating days, it good easier and easier, when i first started i could hardly run 30 seconds now I can run 30mins and sing along to my itunes. I like the audio cues, the count down timer for intervals and that the dates are logged, would like to be able to sms or email workout complete as don't use twitter or facebook. BTW i have lost 54kilos using this app :-) and eating sensibly. yes 54..Version: 3.0

Go for itThis is an achievable way to 5k. All you have to do is stick to the three times a week and put some tunes on first then you are set. If you are struggling or can't do it for a bit just repeat the week where you left off. No dramas.Version: 0

Worked!Sure enough - worked my way up to 5K a unbelievable! Even after completing my goal, I now use the stretching warm up and cool down daily. Simple & effective, thanks..Version: 7.0.1

5k to 10k to 21kLOVE this app...I have several wife and friends using it now and we share & support one another our progress. We have also been repeating weeks if necessary. I’m finishing up the 5k and recently purchased the bundle of 10k & 21k. Q: As I finish up an app and transition to the next do I start over with that app or is there a recommend week in the 10k and then the 21k (when complete 10k)?.Version: 2019.10.2

Getting in shapeThis program was suggested by a friend. I don't run and had no plans to. I needed to increase my workouts to the next level and other family members run triathlons, so I guess it is my turn to try running. I promised myself that if I bought an iPhone, I would get this app and complete this program. This app makes it sooo much easier to comply with the program. I am on day 2.3 (my sixth workout). I can listen to my own music during workouts. I can see my progress and take each step at a time and the app helps me to not give up. Even if I have trouble progressing all through this work out series, I can at least follow week one and week two over and over again for better work outs. On my way to workout 2.3 right now. Wish me luck! Get this app if you are NOT a runner, want to get in shape, and need a lot of support and a slow gradual process to become a runner..Version: 0

Great app, definitely recommendI'm just over half way through the 8 week program and am amazing myself with how well I'm doing and how much I enjoy it. I'm 48 years old, ex smoker, have never been a runner or keep fit type before, and I have found some of the runs challenging - but the app really has helped to build my strength and stamina and is wonderfully easy to use and follow. Highly recommend..Version: 2.0.1

Great App!I use this together with my Garmin 405 watch and I'm now on my fourth week of running and loving it thanks to C25K. At first I was terrible, struggling to run 60 seconds at a time and now just 4 weeks on am happily running 5 minutes at a time with minimal breaks between 5 min sets. Also, the stats from the Garmin show my fitness is increasing dramatically. I'm certain most if not all people out there could follow this and get a very good level of fitness, there's not much to the app but it's perfect for it's function. I'm out for a run in a bit, laters! :).Version: 0

Very impressedI've never run in my life (I'm 34). Every time I've ever tried I've given up after a few days. This app has helped me get moving, and I now look forward to my treadmill time..Version: 1.4

Slick app!Any plans for adding a calendar/reminder integration? At the end of a workout it could ask you to write a motivating phrase for your next workout. Also would be nice if the music selection was fleshed out a bit more. Keep it coming!.Version: 0

AwesomeNever was a runner , never thought I would be, and I'm well on my way great ap, only complaint is the buttons to move minute timer back and fourth shouldn't be on main running screen , hit it a few times by mistake.Version: 2.0.1

I can't believe it!When I started this program, I really didn't think I would be able to complete it - heavens I could barely do the first day without feeling like I was going to die, but with their graduated steps and a little determination, here I am starting week 6 with no fears that I won't be able to finish the program! I'm even looking forward beyond completion of this and working toward marathon training! Boy do I feel good! If this app can help me, a 55 year old, find rejuvenation and better fitness/health, then it can for anyone!.Version: 2.0.1

Best Best Best !Best app I have on my iPod. It really works. Would recomend to anyone..Version: 0

Great appI got this app last year and before that I had never enjoyed running, I had always struggled and gave up after a few days, I stuck with this app and it really helped me, I have kept up the running and I am running 5 to 6 miles most days now, I am probably the fittest I have been in years and I have lost a lot of weight, I don't use the app anymore but I really do think that I would have given up on running again if I hadn't used this app so thanks and I will be sure to recommend this app to anyone I can..Version: 0

Great running appLove this app. Appreciate the 5k and 10K are not identical..Version: 2020.5.12

Great app!!Great app, been going really well but since the last update she's stopped speaking to me when the screen is off-have tried all the advice in the FAQ section but still won't work, any ideas??.Version: 2.0

It has delivered! This App got me running, so now I just really enjoy it. I've dropped over 20kg in 7mths. I weighed 115kg (I'm 6'2 male), now I'm 93kg and shrinking. Thank goodness for this App!.Version: 1.5

Almost perfectThe only feature that would make this app better is a lock feature for the screen. I notice I'm skipping intervals or replaying intervals when i'm outdoors and holding my iPhone. I accidently touch the buttons. But when I'm on the treadmill it's great. Never knew I could be able to run 20 mins straight in 5 weeks! Thanks.Version: 1.3

Fashion BloggerI just ran my last run today with 5k app and I made it! It was easier than I ever thought, thanks to the app. I highly recommend for anyone looking to get their 5k done quick and easy. Sometimes it was challenging, but always rewarding. I like the music feature and the prompts. Can we get an actual measure of distance and speed for each run? That would help a lot. Be careful not to press pause while running lol!.Version: 2.0.1

All doneJust comp. Today ! Took me from lying on the couch, and being breathless a the top of the stairs, to running 5K in 30 mins in Just 9 weeks. Hard going but well worth it, great app, even tells you when your half way so you can turn around and head home :) going on to 10K now.Version: 1.5

I did it!This app taught me how to run. I first tried when I was getting married, and I completed the 5k but never did actually a race. Now 8 years later I came back to train for my first 5k. It it’s a great help for a non runner, couldn’t be happier. Gracias!.Version: 7.0.1

Super easy to useThe app is user friendly and very easy to use. There is no excuse to get up and get it done!.Version: 2019.12.5

Thank You!When I purchased this application I was highly skeptical. I never liked to run, I was also never good at it. I usually had side pains after 1 minute, was out of breath after 2 and ended up limping for a month every time I gave it a try. I bought this in desperation, to get fit and loose weight after 2 pregnancies. It worked! It was not even painful. I finished the whole program a month ago and keep running. I feel great and I lost 6 kg (12 pounds). My only regret is that there is no 5 to 10k application. Thank you!!!.Version: 0

Worth every penny and then someI did the Couch to 5K program about five years ago using slips of paper and a stopwatch. I wanted to do the program again, only now I have an iPod Touch. I thought: I wonder if anyone has automated this program? Not only has Felt Tip done so, they have done it perfectly. The difficulties I had with doing the Couch to 5K the old fashioned way was my concentration often broke every time I checked the time, I was unpleasantly obsessed with the amount of time I had left to run, and it was a hassle to run at night because I constantly had to press the light button on my watch. The beauty of this app is you simply press the START button, and that is it. It seamlessly works with any playlists, the interface is exceedingly user friendly and simple, and not looking at my iPod every two seconds forces me to be more zen in my running. I simply breathe into the running, knowing the program will tell me when to stop and walk. It is hard to explain exactly, but my running is much more enjoyable and peaceful (I am NOT a natural runner!). My only very small critique is that when the voice says -Halfway- and it is too close to the next voice command, the music volume stays low and does not return to normal until the next voice command is given. A bit annoying. A million A pluses!.Version: 1.3

You owe it to your heart!!Just wanted to let you all know who are thinking about buying this app that IT WORKs!!!! When I first started this app I couldn't run 40 seconds strait without stopping...we finished the app in time for the Terry Fox 5k and I have never been prouder of myself! My family was there to cheer me on and We raised some good money for the foundation! I have started couch to 10 K today and am sooooo thrilled I had to come home and let everyone know what an amazing app this is!!!! Trust me if I can do it...you can too!!!!!.Version: 0

Good AppGood app, no problems. Would recommend to others..Version: 2.0.1

Excellent AppAfter using this for 3 weeks now, I am very pleased with this app. It has helped me get started running again after many years of being a couch potato, and I like the structure of it, because I tend to overdo workouts in the beginning and eventually get hurt or quit. I like the way it prompts you while you listen to music, so it keeps me energized with my workout music while getting me to keep working out. I've had no real problems at all with the app, and I appreciate the stretching diagrams, although they could be a bit bigger or integrated into the voice prompts (this is a very minor quibble, not even that important). All in all, great job. My request? Build a similar app that takes up where this leaves off, perhaps leading to 10K runs..Version: 0

Truly impressedCan't believe it...I did it! For anyone out there who considers themselves a couch potato wishing to be in shape, or like me, someone who sporadically tried to find time in a hectic life to exercise enough to matter to their health, this program is for you! It's very simple to do, almost seems psychic at times in how it pushes you just hard enough to make you feel tired in the middle but usually energized by the end. The checklist that tracks your finished workouts is very motivating. So is running your own invigorating playlist in the background (and I chose the simple beeps, rather than the voices). It's great that it tracks time, not distance, so you run at your own pace. I have tried to "become a runner" a few times in years past, but because I had no clue how to begin to alternate running and walking properly (too busy/embarrassed to get a trainer!) I ended up frustrated and occasionally with aches and pains that discouraged me enough to quit. With this program, I have not had a single injury that kept me from doing the next workout! Another great thing is that although the program is designed for 9 weeks, you can space the workouts any way you like; I had a few weeks where I couldn't manage all three workouts, and sometimes went back and repeated some if I thought I wasn't ready for the next level. I think the few cents I paid for this app has been undoubtedly the best health insurance expenditure ever!!!.Version: 0

Got me to my mileageWonderful app! Got me to running my 5K!.Version: 2020.5.12

Great App!I have tried running in the past but didn't keep training as I lost interest after a while. One of my new year resolutions was to get fit and so to try running again. This App is great as its works you up gently to longer distances and i feel the 30 workouts are achievable and i look forward to being able to run 5K, something ive never done before! It keeps me motivated as it accesses your itunes library and the voice prompts simply play over your music, it also tells you when you're half way! I've had no problems in terms of functionality, so would recommend this app - i will be sticking to my new year resolution with its help!.Version: 1.3

Just need GPS mapping trackerPerfect for runners who want to start running again or beginners. My only suggestion would be, to add the GPS mapping that will track how far I ran. I find that for the same time distance may vary so the ability to track that would make this app 5star. Can't wait to progress to 10k!!.Version: 1.5

This app works!I walk every day for exercise but do not run. I have a personal goal of running a 5K. A year ago I downloaded the app and followed it faithfully. And it worked! I can now run 3 miles, albeit not very quickly! I run 3-4 times a week now. The pace of the program is great. I have not been able to run an actual 5K yet due to pandemic, but I will. Best money I have ever spent on an app..Version: 2020.5.12

Getting toned!Just over halfway now with this app and my fitness has really improved. Complete amateur to start with and have managed to complete and enjoy each workout! definitely worth it if you want to start out running..Version: 2.0.1

Worked for me!When I started this app, the first day, week, two weeks, three weeks, etc. were all horrible! But I did what the app told me - I ran slow, stretched, didn't run (or should I say jog?) more than three times a week. This week I completed my first 5K! Yes, it took longer than 30 minutes but it was easier than any of my previous weeks' workouts! My recommendation is to find a 5K in your area that will end right when the 8 weeks is up so you are motivated to complete the training. I hated running before but now I actually enjoy it! If you are a person who believes you are not and will never be a runner - this app is for you! (But you also need to change your mindset because you CAN do it!!!) On to Run 10K! Thanks Felt Tip, Inc.!.Version: 2.0.1

AmazingI'm 35, a good 50+ pounds overweight and never been a runner. I've just started week 6, and can already run 20 minutes at a good pace no problem. Can't wait to hit the 5k mark. Thanks for the app!.Version: 1.4

AngelbabyHalfway through an loving it. Great app. Just what I was looking for..Version: 0

App is GreatThis app is fantastic for easing you into a good work out. I like to use it every spring/summer. Getting it out again now that the weather is getting warmer. One of the most useful apps for the touch..Version: 2.0.1

It Works!!!A truly awesome app. I literally was doing ZERO exercise and this app got me running 5K in 8 weeks. It was fun, never boring. Thank you!!!.Version: 0

Great updatesJust started using this app again and I love the updates. The guided stretches and gps mileage tracking are great!.Version: 4.1

Bon choixDe la première semaine où les poumons me brûlaient à la fin de la 9e semaine où je courrais mon 5 km sans efforts, cette application a été mon compagnon dans ma mise en forme. Voilà quelques dollars bien investis !.Version: 0

Really good App - day 2 of the programLooked at other apps but thought this was the best, really glad I got it. Have been out twice using it on the schedule and it made it quite easy (really not fit at the mo and don't like running). Hope they provide a next level app cause I would buy it..Version: 0

Thanks for this app. Changing my life!. Really pleased this app exists, it has made it easier to get off my couch that is for sure. Suggestions: I would like to have a setting to put it in airplane mode during my run. I would also like to be able to skip the warm up without losing seconds. I do stretches and then walk to my start point and so often warm up for more than 5mins but don't want to keep checking the timer. So when I forward it I want it to go to the actual run start not 60secs regardless. !.Version: 0

Awesome!I have only been using this for two days and I've really enjoyed it. I can tell that it is going to help me lose the weight that I have to!.Version: 0

Awesome appI really like this aap, it really helps me get motivation and keep running... please don’t stop innovating it, hoe you keep updating it with more and new and better features. Thanks again..Version: 7.0.1

Brilliantly simple!Just completed the program this morning having never run before, and never thought I could run before! This app is super simple to use with a nice clear interface that is not cluttered with 1001 features you'll never use. Highly recommended..Version: 2.0.1

FantasticI've been off and on the running bandwagon, and this time around, I'm actually sticking with it because of this app. I love the help with the interval training. It would be great if there was a mapping feature as well..Version: 1.4

Great motivational toolFound this app incredibly useful. I am into week 8 of 9 in the program. After not having exercised after two children and 10 years, the chance finding of this great motivational resource was welcome. I would recommend it as a starting point For beginners like myself. I have lost 9.5kgs in the time I have been using it, and rediscovered my confidence in my own ability to achieve my goals. Thanks.Version: 1.4

Great apps to get you off your backside and to start doing some excercise. This is a great app for anyone having difficulty getting motivated to start running..Version: 0

FantasticAbsolutely love this app! I've never been much of a jogger let alone running, but I'm on week 4 now and I keep getting the urge to go out for a jog down the river on the off days. I feel much better than i ever have before, thanks! I will definitely be picking up 10k once im done with 5..Version: 0

Great App!!I had been meaning to take up running again in order to get fit, but hadn't quite got around to it! My wife had heard of this app so I gave it a try. I'm only in week two but it really is a fantastic app and makes the task in hand so much easier. I'm an 'all or nothing' guy, so the disciple of following this excellent programme has been great. Well done guys!.Version: 1.4

ExcellentOf all the "run 5k" apps, this one is the best..Version: 6.0.4

ExcellentVery simple. 5/5.Version: 2020.5.12

Amazing AppI can't believe that I'm writing this but I've just finished the Couch to 5k and have just uploaded it's big brother. Listen up folks. I couldn't run the length of myself three months ago so if your reading this and your not sure if you can do this believe me you really can! This app will help get you through without actually realising it. What have you got to lose? A few pence- big deal. Think what you will gains. No contest. GO FOR IT.Version: 1.4

Sounds awesome!Purchased this as a friend was raving about it. I was told it would be able to be downloaded to the IPOD. I see now that I cant. HELP anyone know if its possible to get this on an ipod or anything like it. It would really be helpful when running!.Version: 2.0.1

By far the best 5k appI've tried pretty much every 5k and running app out there and what sets this one apart is that it includes a warmup, cool down and stretching session that automatically tells and shows you what to do and when to do it. Amazingly, most apps don't bother with a warmup or cool down or stretching so it's one more thing to have to think about. This app makes it effortless to learn how to run without injury. I love the 1 minute till you're done announcement - I pick up my speed and go for it. Again, no other app seems to do this - why?? So try this app and i promise you'll love it..Version: 5.4

Worth every penny!I'm on week 5 of this programme and loving it! Every week I'm amazed and how far I've progressed and dare I say I'm beginning to love running (something I never thought I'd say as I was the girl who used to walk the school cross country runs). The app is so easy to use and follow - buy it, you won't regret it!.Version: 0

LOVE!I have had no problems with audio cues or phone lock from using this recently - I made sure my notifications were all set to on for this app in iphone's settings just in case. I used this app a year ago to get me to 5k and it was brilliant. I have just started using it again. I love the app for its simplicity - the other apps built on the c25k program seem too complicated, or 'busy' in their design. The problem once finishing the program is what to do after.
