Great training appThis app has been fantastic. It's helped me actually learn to run. The interface is easy to learn and you get up and running really quickly. The only thing keeping it from being a 5 star app is the lack of GPS tracking. I'd be very interested to know my distance differences as well as my pace. Great app though. Well done. Maybe think about a bridge to 1/2 marathon or bridge to marathon apps. I'd definitely consider purchasing those as well..Version: 0

Excellent ap.I cannot recommend this programme enough. Am now at week 12 and have gone from a complete non runner to now being able to run 10k. Great, but a few things I'd like to see incorporated....First off...A PEDOMETER. How the heck do I know if I'm actually running a 10k? I'm assuming they are using a general figure and average for the amount of time spent running, but each person is different. I'd like to know what, at week 4, my progress is, how far I'm actually going. I don't know how this ultimately can be successful for anyone if they don't know if they are running a full 10k or not. I'd like more than just a 1/2 way verbalization. Something during each run portion maybe, like "doing great, 30 seconds left". Maybe a verbal 1/3 and 2/3 of the way through. A bit more motivational talk, so to speak during the trainings. Overall, this is a GREAT app. I'd like to really see a pedometer built in though. I love that I choose my 'just run' playlist and it's all upbeat stuff. I am repeating week 4 because I feel like my body is telling me to. Don't worry if you need to repeat a week or even a day. Just do what your body tells you. I also am using the program 4 days a week and just repeating day 1 of that week for the 4th day. Loving the app. Really motivates me. And where before I'd just quit before I reached my goal of say once around the track, now I run until I hear that voice say it's ok to walk. Great to have it..Version: 1.4

It really works!!!!Love it!! It's a great appl. I'm a 29 yrs old ex army female and I have been lazy for d past yr or so that I got out and this is awesome to restart on my running. It also let's u jump ahead if u feel it's too easy. I can run longer than 30 seconds soo I'm gonna try each workout once instead o 3 times each!! The only thing is that d alert it's really loud, there is no way you'll miss d instructions for each segment. Needs a map of your runOverall great app, used a different app to get to 5k and I’ve converted over so I can run 10k and build towards a half marathon. Brilliant app for beginnersI got this as I foolishly signed up for the 10k race for life with friends who run regulalry At the time I had a basic level of fitness but running has always proved difficult. I skipped the first few weeks as I could manage 2 mins already and was amazed at how quickly I was able to build up distance and the amount of time running. After 8 weeks I did the race and only finished a few minutes behind my friends. Next stop the great south run and maybe a marathon after that - an app for that would be brilliant. Love this App!I've used this app twice now and love it! I have tried several other c25k and c210k apps and they are either too complicated or too simple. This one has a very realistic running schedule for a true beginner. No quick jumps that will leave you exhausted, frustrated or injured with shin splints. Love this app! Perfect for training!My friend and I just started using this to train for a race in June. Without the earbuds in, the beeps let us know when the run. Great app - got me (also) off the couchThis app is a simple idea executed very well. So far it has got me off the couch, and I hope I can stay there. With the help of this app, I am confident I can. I would like to see a couple of extra features that to me would be added benefits, but not having them is certainly not a deal-breaker. - instead of the voice over 'coach' saying "start running now.", it could say something like "start running now. Run 4 of 9" and so on - in long walking periods - like the 4.5 mins that you start on - there could be 3 beeps to indicate 1.5 mins to go, 2 beeps at 1 min and 1 beep at 30 secs.Version: 1.3

Works as Advertised - Rock SolidThis app works exactly as advertised on my 3G. I wish I could listen to Pandora while using it but Apple won't allow two apps to run at the same time. I never thought I'd run again but I'm up to stage 3 now and intend to finish the program. The voice prompts are exactly what I need to keep me from cheating or overdoing it too soon. I've even used it with the speaker when my wife went with me last weekend and the loud setting was enough for both of us to hear. UPDATE: I finished the program and can now run 10k without stopping. Good progression, won’t get injuredI have used this program twice, 7 years apart. The progressions are realistic and slow (almost embarrassingly slow) but doing this you will not get injured. I have also used this running with my dog to increase his endurance and it has worked amazingly..Version: 7.0.1

Great Way to Train for a 10k.This app works! I have been using it for about six weeks. I started with Week 4, which has you doing 2 min running/3 min walking. It was a bit of a challenge. Great programs to run withI have been using these apps for at least 4 years. I appreciate the interval training and it builds moderately to the 5k and now I am trying the 10k. I have never entered a race, I just use these to get exercise and stay in shape for other activities. The stretches are also helpful and I never get too sore after I run. I even use them after cross country skiing. I just wish there was a maintenance app. Mostly I just go back and repeat weeks to vary the workouts..Version: 7.0.1

Great app to get into runningUsed the app to train for a 10k I had signed up for. I never enjoyed running much, but agreed with a colleague to take the challenge. The first few weeks weren't very enjoyable, but the app made me go out again. After a while I was looking forward to my workouts. Love itUpdate* I've completed the program and ran my 10k. It was the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta. My weight is at 240 now and my training runs are 5 miles. I've started a 20 week marathon training program and wish you guys had one. I'm on week 8 and I'm surprised that this program is working so well. I think back to when I started the program and how I could barely make the full 30 seconds of running. Following the program I had to push myself each week thinking there is no way I'm going to be able to run for x amount of time, but each week I've been able to complete the runs. I've completed one 5k and was able to run 3 miles with the special Olympic torch to raise money. My 10 k is coming up in July and I can't wait. I've only lost about 20 #'s over the last 8 weeks, but I'm losing inches on my waist. When I started the program I was over 280# with bad knees a resting heart rate of 89 and hypertension. My weight is down to 259 blood pressure is normal and my resting heart rate is 58. This program has turned my life around. My only complaint is the lack of GPS to track distance. I've been using Nike+ or Run Keeper to track distance..Version: 1.4

This is a great appI'm in my late 30's, a good 20lb overweight, and used to think 400m was a long distance run when I was at school. Now I'm in week 4 of this programme, and I have already managed a 5k - something I never imagined I'd do even a month ago. Fantastic programThis is just what I've been looking for. It is almost exactly like "The Beginning Runner's Handbook" walk/run program by The Sport Medicine Council of B.C.but this is so fantastic because it tells you when to walk and run instead of trying to hear the beep on your programmed wristwatch. Big Plus is using my own music. I have done the Podcast for Runners by Robert Ullrey which is also great but the techno music is not for everyone. When's my next run?I've been using this app to get back into running shape and at week five, when the intervals start to increase, I'm actually loving it! Overall I feel stronger and generally so much better. I did workout two days in a row (busy week) and man did the second day hurt. Suggest trying to space out the days if you can. A small glitch I found is I can't seem to skip a song using the smaller controller on my headphone wire. I have the earbuds specific for an iPhone. Great app!!In a sea of running apps available I like this one most. It's interface and training program are superior to the others in my opinion. It seems to get better with each update. I'd like to see some improvement to the watch app though. It needs more stand alone features. I stopped running with my phone when I upgraded to the 6plus. It is just way to big to run with. Changed my lifeI was not a runner, barely a walker, and didn't really even stand that much. I really did start from the couch and I am now running 50 minutes and it feels amazing. Can't believe it. Still have 2 weeks left in the program but felt it was time for a review to say THIS APP WORKS! I have asthma and I was overweight and in horrible shape. Never believed I could run for an hour. But with this app and eating much better (due to my wife joining Weight Watchers) I have lost 40 lbs over the past 5 months. I think the program is set up perfectly where it pushes you just enough to improve each week but not so difficult it discourages you into quitting. I like that the first day of the week is hardest day, then the second is the easier day, then the third pushes you a little bit to prepare for the next week. I struggled a little bit in week 8 (that 1 minute break is short!) but that was it. Great, great app if you want to be a runner. Highly recommend. Changed my life..Version: 1.3

Pretty goodI’ve used this app for two couch-to-10k journeys running and one on an elliptical. It does the job and even has support for Workouts/Fitness with the Apple Watch. The only nit I’d pick is that the time on the watch doesn’t count properly during the workout. It seems to only count when the watch display is showing, so it’s way off by the middle of the workout..Version: 2020.5.12

AmazingThis application is amazing. I started with the Couch to 5k program and literally huff'ed and puff'ed through the 60 second interval runs. It has helped push me a little bit more everyday and in 4 months I've gone from running 0.2 miles to 6.5 miles and it feels amazing!! I'm training for a half marathon and I don't know where to go from here!! Anyone can do it using this program!!.Version: 0

Fun and challenging way to work out!I recently got back into running after a hip injury kept me sidelined for over 2 years. My doctor said to ease back into running... and this app allows me to do just that. I am doing it a little more slowly (repeating workouts) because of my hip, but I am on Week 7 and can definitely feel a difference in how long I'm able to run! It is definitely a motivator... cannot wait to check off that little box at the end of each workout! A few things that would make it even better... - you can listen to playlists, but can't randomize songs (or at least I haven't figured out how!) - there are random check marks in weeks that I haven't tried yet... kind of odd... doesn't affect the way you use the program that day though - I have to exit out of the program and re-enter it each time I finish a workout in order to press the "End Workout" button. Kind of annoying and unnecessary. Other than these small gripes, I really enjoy using this app. It also doesn't seem to eat up my battery life, even though I keep it on the entire time and don't let the screen go black. Give it a try... for $3, it's cheaper than a personal trainer/running coach, and extremely effective!.Version: 0

Must Buy Running ProgramLast summer I ran along to the Couch to 5K app... and ran my way through 12 5K races! Over the winter, I did the Couch to 10K app.... and just ran my first 10K race! This is an excellent program to get you off the couch and running all over the place. I have never been a fan of running, but through the 13 week program, I am now able to run a 10K without stopping! Finally a way to enjoy running!Ever since I was a teenager I've hated running - loved it in concept, hated it whenever I tried to start up. I'd always run too fast or too far before my body was used to it. Plus I'd get really bored which didn't help. Now, 30 years later, with this app I'm actually sticking to this interval training program and enjoying both the process of each workout, and the way I feel afterwards. I'm actually looking forward to each workout! That alone is amazing. I agree with the previous reviewer that it would be great if there were integration with a web site to track my progress & a display of mileage. It would also be good if the main screen showed which interval you are on during a workout. But overall I'm thrilled that this thing is helping me get and, more importantly, STAY running! Very niceI'm on week 11 now and I can run 10k without much problem. I even skip walking quite often now because I just feel like running and because I can. At the begining I could barely run 500m non stop. I lost 15 pounds and still going strong, thank you for this amazing app !.Version: 1.4

Minor issuesI bought this app during a much earlier version, and I was disappointed. For example, it had no GPS tie-in! Now, the app is much, much better. The only qualms I have with it are minor. For example, the screen layout is not very well thought out. While running, there is a countdown of time remaining for each interval, and that is fine. But, there is a lot of wasted space while mid-workout, yet the font for other info is so small that you can't possibly read it while running..Version: 4.3

Off the couchJust bought this app not long ago, have been wanting to get my a** off the couch for a while now and have been dreading doing it! I used this app for the first time last week and I must say it has really helped me believe I can do this. It has a very "ease you into it" approach which I love! Also the way the app has been designed is so simple to use and the voice that comes on and tells you when to walk and when to run is awesome..
