✓ Amazing App and Amazing SupportSo, I’ve had this app for multiple years. Completely recommend to everyone and I haven’t found another app that provides the same level of support and app creation. There are so many options for collectors and for casual book-lovers to personalize your catalogue. So, recently I had a issue with the app. My accounts weren’t syncing to the cloud. So i sent in a email support request at 8:28 am and received a reply at 8:41! I didn’t have to sit for hours worrying. They guided me through what I needed to do and have access on their end to see what the problem is. My issue had been solved at 10:00 am on the same day!! It has a companion app that allows isbn scanning which means adding and collating books is super quick. Changing the details stored to suit your particular needs is very easy and being able to store a cover image makes identification super easy. Support and updates is superb with the developers creating a homely and family vibe with their customers. If you have thousands or even just started on serious book ownership I would definitely recommend this. The flexibility of the program is so great that you can record your books in a fashion that highlights what is important to you. You are not pinned down to a specific method that some geek programer in a back room who never owned a book thinks you should use to record your collections. It has flexibility. Further and just as important or maybe more important is the customer service. I have had this product for 5-10 years and have consistently received the best customer service in the business. Every email is answered. First they understand your question and then they answer it. Other software customer service people do not understand the question, and then give you an answer from some script that the mother ship office directs them to use regardless of whether it answers the question or not. ✓ Great Easy App!I started with their comic book app and found it to be amazing for the great detail and easiness to use. After buying a few books and taking them home and then only after reading it for a bit and realizing that I have already purchased/read the book (but a new cover or just totally forgetting I had), I decided to try their app for tracking my books as well. Just like the comic version, I have no complaints and recommend it to everyone that reads a lot. Having used it for more than five years, I have been amazed at the frequent positive changes that have been made to enhance the depth of information which it holds. It is comprehensive but simple to use. My main use is to keep track of a prestige collection of around 300 books on one artist with publication dates starting in 1938 and continue until the present. I have a collection of of some 6500 books built up over forty years and the app has paid for itself several times over in ensuring that I do not purchase a duplicate copy of a book already in my library. Most of my books relate to railway, tram or bus subjects in the U.K. and I find that with this app I can add further notes where I wish to. It is simple to use just by typing in the isbn or book title if no isbn and a copy of the book cover can be added if one is not already in the Collectorz data base. I recently used it to document my 1500-book collection, and that process went quickly and efficiently. ✓ BrilliantI have always had a lot of books and for a while there my job had me moving from state to state a lot. Books were lost, baling books for a removal became harder as I got more and actually being able to say what they lost was a problem. When I got this app a few years back it was fantastic. Have 9800+ books (ebooks & paperbacks) on CLZ Books on my PC and 4800+ on CLZ Book Collector on my ipad ebooks only. I scanned the ISBN’s from the paper backs and manually entered ISBN’s for ebooks to download from the Collector’s database. If the ebook wasn’t in the data base, I manually entered the data. Now my books are indexed by author and have the series number all with no duplications and a wish list as well. Wonderfully easy to use and sync between devices. Support from the developer is fast, comprehensive and always satisfying. Frequent updates and enhancements. I'm using the app in a slightly unconventional way - not for a personal book collection, but for the school's PTO book collection. The cloud feature of the app allows me to upload all our books, for parents / students to view what's available, and the flexibility of the app allowed me to customize each record to allow for people to select books they wanted. Populating the app was very simple by scanning barcodes, and even when a barcode wasn't available, a manual entry was very easy to do. I did do some editing of records to ensure consistency across our database, but this too was very easy. I also edited a number of cover images by adding my own - again very simple a straightforward! I highly recommend this app. Not only is it comprehensive yet simple, it comes with a first class support team. On occasions when I have had questions, I have dealt with three different support analysts, and each has been highly responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. Most were okay, but they didn’t do everything I wanted, or they were too difficult to manoeuvre through, or just too expensive. Then one day, about 7 or 8 years ago, the one I was using just quit working. I couldn’t even get into it to export what I had already entered in. I went online and found out that it was done, no longer supported, and no questions would be answered. So I went online and started looking. It didn’t take long. I found a reference to Book Collector. This was an app that I could download and it looked like it would everything that I wanted. It was a reasonable price, and so I decided to give it a try. FABULOUS ! FABULOUS ! FABULOUS ! It does everything I need, and does it well, and smoothly, and with over 3500 books on my shelves, that’s important. Since then I have switched to their cloud service, CLZ Books. I no longer have to use my memory space. I just log in, make entries, deletions or changes and it’s done. The price is still very reasonable. This is the best book cataloguing service of any I have ever used. They also offer apps or cloud service for collectors of Movies, Music, Comics and Games. I have used this and the Movies version for about 10 years and the games app for almost 5. I am very happy. I keep all my inventory here. I love the layout especially. ✓ Best book cataloguing software I’ve used!I tried 3-4 other book cataloging apps before I found CLZ and it’s computer based sister Book Connect, but all those others had their limitations and seeming to be aimed at novels. I needed a serious app to catalogue my very late research and academic library and this was it. I now have over 3000 books catalogued and add every new book before putting it on my shelves. It does not take long to learn how to use this app and customer support is excellent with replies often coming back in minutes. I log all my books with Book Connect on my desktop and easily sync to CLZ on my mobile. Have you ever been in a nook shop and wondered if you had a particular title? You either buy it and get home to find it is a dupe or don’t buy it, get home and kick yourself because you didn’t have it. CLZ prevents this and if it stops you buying one dupe a year it has paid for itself. Shopping online for titles? Check if you have the title with Book Connect on your computer. ✓ Fantastic software for bookaholics - and clubsI have used the book cataloging software for many years to catalogue the many (many) books we have stored in numbered boxes and bags in our loft. I had also catalogued the books belonging to our local Embroidery group. We wanted to make full use of the group’s books during lockdown and with the superb help of the Collectorz support team, we set up a separate Library and included, on separate sheets, books belonging to members who were willing to loan them out. Until face-to-face meetings resume, we have an ad hoc doorstep delivery system in place, supported by the Loan facility within the software. The CLZ Barry scanner enables members to scan the barcodes of books they are willing to loan and email the ISBN numbers directly from the App to our Librarian for logging. Subject to Covid restrictions, we can work directly with any member who has as many books as me, to load the books directly. It is particularly helpful to be able to sort on technique, subject etc as well as author and title. The software works and the support team are easy to contact and really helpful. It’s very easy to add and edit on either platform (but using the app to scan barcodes is the easiest IMHO) and even easier to sync between them. It has taken us a couple of months but we have been able to entirely eliminate our physical card catalog. We still use, and probably always will, the physical envelope and cards in the books. People can sign the book out using the card and we check the book out in the app so that we can keep track of what books are borrowed. It is easy to enter each book into your database (most new books can be scanned in using your smartphone camera). You can devise a location system so you know exactly where each book is. If you loan a book out you can even log who has it. You can rate your books, log when you read it, where you purchased it and for how much, and so much more. ✓ This App has awesome support!I purchased the CLZ Book App a few months ago. I have to say that they helped me upload my collection when I was having problems with the CSV file. Their support has been so wonderful. Just recently the App started crashing on me on my phone when I tried to edit a new entry to place it in a collection. Before I could even try those suggestions out, I got an email saying that they had found the bug and were submitting their solution to Apple.
