✓ Wonderful AppI have used Collectorz for a long time without any problems. After buying an iPad my very large database is completely synced from the Cloud to my MacPro, MacBookPro, iPad and iPhone. All done seamlessly. I have tried others from App Store and they are less than useless. Over the years the online support has been fast and very helpful. It may be a little more expensive but "You get what you pay for" and don't waste time adding data only to lose it for no reason..Version: 2.5.2

✓ Customizable DatabaseI love this software. It is so easy to use. This program is as simple or as detailed as you want it to be. Being able to add my own tags to sort as well as the canned tags is a great feature. Sorting my collection is my fixation. Seeing how many Godzilla or John Wayne movies is a fun. ✓ Fantastic!I’ve been using IMBd for years to record my collection but it was terribly slow and made worse by its last update. Having tried CLZ l will not be going back! I have scanned all my movies in very quickly using the barcodes, or manually input them from their massive database. I’ve even changed some of the covers that I didn’t like for better ones and edited a couple of movie titles to suit myself! ✓ Best Upgraded App - EVERI've used both the Music and Movie versions since they first came out and also paid for the IOS products when I converted from Nokia to Apple. The previous app was great however having an iPhone and iPad to sync each time I added a movie was a pain as the devices had to be on the same subnet, I keep mobile and Windows devices on separate networks. Now with the new Movie App and Connect it will saves me hours of work, this really is the best upgrade ever. I can now add new movies from my PC, desktop, iPhone or iPad and sync with Connect to all devices. I can even view my collection online from any web browser. ✓ Superb app makes life even easierI have upgraded to the new app and what a superb difference it makes. With the older version it was just a means for see what you had at the time of you syncing your collection. But this new app has added the ability of syncing you new list from the connect and share service so you're never in danger of buying duplicates again. The killer feature for me has to be the addition of the scanner feature using the iPad camera. Instead of taking all my media to the main PC I walked round the house scanning the bar codes as I went along. ✓ CLZ MoviesI’ve been using this app for years now. It’s one of the best databases I’ve seen. Being able to list movies a variety of ways, so very useful. I do have a few suggestions if your developers are up for the challenge — 1st: being able to “highlight/favorite” actors & directors would be such a plus as well as listing their movies. 2nd: adding a filter would also be great, omitting certain movies in a list (such as filtering out movies that have been watched). Might also be cool if you could show the movie spines instead of the covers, just like on your physical shelf... then you could zoom in real far and swipe around the shelf. It may feel slightly cumbersome on a phone, but you'll more easily know where you are since it's identical to your shelf that you can compare to. But there is one thing on my wish list for the movie app. The app only shows one format on the list screen even if you also have it on another format. I know if you select a movie it will display all the formats of a selected movie but it would be nice to see the different formats of a particular movie on the main list screen. Secondly being able to scan the film in using the iPhone camera would be the icing on the cake. ✓ Love It!I am really enjoying this app. It is very easy to use. The ability to scan barcodes works great with my iPad camera. Adding by title works quite well also. A great feature is The Box collection which adds all of the individual tiles in a set automatically and the record indicates in which set the title is found. The folder search is incredibly detailed and easy to use. The ability to add Personal information such as location, price, and tags was the deciding factor for me. A previous product I tried didn’t have that ability and even though a title was in the database, I still had to search for it! Syncing to the cloud is fast and allows me to use the app on my phone also. The personal online webpage was a pleasant surprise. The support staff reached out by email within a day of me signing up to welcome me to the service and then responded quickly and efficiently to several questions. The answers to my questions were direct and specific not canned automatic replies. Very polite and respectful to me, the customer. I have had this app less than a week and have already added 592 titles! The embedded movie clips and plot summaries are a fun way to revisit titles not watched in a while and in some cases I even forgot I had. ✓ Brilliant Video Library DatabaseI was initially skeptical about this application. However after a couple of instant and excellent messages with the developer I am absolutely pleased with the program. The link to IMDb is the easiest way to add titles. Plus the information (and even trailers) provided for each movie is outstanding. But the silver lining is behind the scenes of the app, where you can customize pretty much anything to you liking (title sorting, custom genres, etc). I’m happy to pay for an application that WORKS and has great SUPPORT. Best of all, it syncs between your devices (iPhone, iPad) and you can see you collection on the web via their Cloud service. ✓ Still 5 starsI know people are going to 1 star just because there is a subscription now, while there is a subscription and it’s offered to anyone new users and previous purchasers, people who previously purchased this app lose nothing they still have access to everything the had before forever. If you want access to the few new features that you don’t then you have to pay a reasonable price for the sub, none of these new features are in any way required for app functionality. New users will have to pay the sub for full access to what you are grandfathered into and the new features. While I generally don’t like subscriptions I don’t mind them if they aren’t a money grab and the steady income is used to maintain servers/databases and constantly keep the app updated. I don’t think I need a subscription but since CLZ has been such a great resource for me for many many years I’m definitely going to try it for a month. I number each one and record the location in CLZ Movies which makes it easy to find any film after having searched. There are a host of features but I use just a few for my own purposes. As everyone will surely know, when having a large collection, sometimes it’s difficult to know what to watch. Too much choice syndrome! Not any longer, a shake of the phone whilst in the software and it chooses a random film from your collection. Don’t like the suggestion? Shake again and another choice is offered. Not only have they made a great program for the PC,they have made an exceptional application in the form of Clz Movies.I did have trouble getting the app to work and I was getting an error message after about 40% was exported. I got it to work after I downloaded the latest version of Bonjour for Windows 1.0.6. from the great Apple website. Now it works 100%. When you start using it you find it makes a great reference file as well. How many times have you had someone say to you? Do you remember that film - Whats his name was in it - You know, whats his name? Well now you do! I like the fact that you have got thumbnails of the front covers of your collection so you can show people what they look like. Wouldn't it be amazing " Alwin I hope your listening?" If Alwin's team could make it play the first 30sec of the movie sound track! So while you are viewing your collection you can hear the tile track of the film you are viewing. I think it was a miscommunication, in how the subscription service was addressed. When I say miscommunication I mean the wording lacked some clarity and definition as to what is going to happen. That and the quickness in its execution, and not have time to understand to whole picture of how the change is going to effect the future for grandfathered users. I started using their products from the very beginning, and although there have been a few ups and downs, I think this is a fantastic product. Finding my movies would be impossible with out it. CLZ discontinued support for that software and moved everything to a cloud based software. I quit using it and relied on other products to organize my movie collection. ✓ The only movie database worth usingI have a substantial number of movies on disc. For years I’ve made spreadsheets and printed out updates so that the family could find where the movies are in the cabinets. When I finally decided to make it a fully digital storage and search system, I tried most every app available. Most of them promised exactly what I was looking for. All of them seemed to fall incredibly short. When I had abandoned yet another app and got to CLZ, I was just as hopeful though a bit skeptical at that point. Disappointment was the only constant between the apps. CLZ changed that. The initial setup was clear and easy. The design and layout is attractive AND usable. The info you need and want is always right there; no hunting for what’s important. To make the app 100% functional IMO, you need to subscribe to CLZ cloud. The bulk import functions alone make that worthwhile. But then I can also share the list in a read-only mode for the family. ✓ Excellent Cataloging AppScan your disc’s barcode (or add by an online search or add manually) and the entry pops up with all the IMDB info automatically entered plus there’s a ton of other fields to get as detailed with the info as you’d like. There’s also a notes field if you need to add info that doesn’t have a field for it. Indicate whether you’ve watched the disc or not with a tap, search by a large number of choices (not just by title—actor, year, discs you haven’t watched yet so you only look at stuff you haven’t yet watched & many others). I’ve emailed the developer a few times since I started using this app a few years ago, and he’s always been responsive and very helpful.
