✓ Collins Greek DictionaryAlthough this dictionary is expensive, it is in a different league from the others I have tried. It works well in both English-Greek and Greek-English versions. (Note that you will need to go into Settings and add the Greek keyboard from among the many available there). ✓ IndispensableThis is a fantastic and indispensable tool for any English speakers learning Greek or travelling in Greece, no matter what their level of knowledge. It is easy to use and extremely fast. It works equally well on my iPhone and iPad. OK, so it doesn't serve as a thesaurus or a grammar text book and for conjugations of verbs and declension of nous it should be used in conjunction with a good grammar text book. ✓ Adding missing words not possibleI'll start by saying that this is a solid dictionary and it serves well The Greek language which spans over 25 centuries of creativity, starting perhaps with Homer. I use this dictionary often in a Conversational Greek class, recommend it to students and have found it overall invaluable. However there is one glaring omission: It doesn't contain a way where one can add words that are missing. Maybe it's not in its scope, but since it serves a living language, this addition should probably be considered. An example of a missing word would be the word ανακούρκουδα which means squatting. Enrich this dictionary, by allowing the addition of words you might have missed that could be then incorporated after a review, in the next version of the dictionary. Thank you..Version: 8.1.3

✓ I like it very much. Takes some getting used to.I’d like it even better of the navigation were a bit smoother, and there were more words included in definitions traceable through the dictionary. Would be good, too, to have verb tenses and moods included for verbs listed. What I’ve had to get used to is what seems to me to be a bit eccentric when it comes to language dictionaries: the meaning and use of words in English are presented in Greek, and vice versa. As I am learning Greek, I would, of course, prefer a primarily English-based presentation of the Greek meanings and uses of English words. Having said that, I have found that some of this enforced Greek has advanced my learning of the language. Still, I am finding this well worth the money ( I like the daily ‘new word’, though these are often weirdly esoteric, and the date of each new word doesn’t update correctly.).Version: 10.0.11

Generally very good, and a real boon that you can dictate the word rather than having to spell it out (using micro on Greek keyboard). I like the fact that I can touch a word and switch to the entry for that specific word (sometimes). Unfortunately it often fails to find an entry. ✓ Very pleasedI'm very pleased with this app. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, i.e be a greek/ english or vice versa dictionary. Its very quick on my 32 S, not sure how fast on other phones. Its quicker than a paper dictionary. I had to add, within iphone settings, the greek keyboard and you then have to manually switch keyboards. It would be nice in later upgrades to have the one keypress switch from 'gr-eng' or 'eng-gr' include a keyboard switch. It is very expensive but as a greek language student, I was prepared to pay the price.Version: 0
