I give it 5 star rating because of all of that plus being able to see the MAC addresses if one cannot figure out which IP address is really yours. There are certain MAC addresses that belong to certain devices. We have several computers, iPods, iPhones and gaming consoles in our household and it's nice to be able to distinguish the ones that belong to our household versus some random creep on my network. ✓ Perfect network toolHave been using this app since version 1.0. This is a great tool for a comprehensive look at your network. I have used this for my home network but more importantly take it to clients homes to diagnose network issues while working in the field. This app has never failed me and I appreciate the work that has been put into it. I do have to comment on the other reviews though. Yes, some would say this is a complicated app to use but, for someone that is in the network business this app is extremely simple to utilize all the features. My conclusion, if your not a sysadmin or network technician, you shouldn't be using apps like this and especially not making negative reviews about the app because you dont understand the terminology and features and you don't understand the purpose of, or how they work. Worth it .....After trying the free ones which were spotty at best I was skeptical about paying for this but you get what you pay for and after 2 mins with this I was able to set up my WOL and boot up my pc using my iPhone and wake it from sleep mode. Works every time I’m so glad I found something I didn’t have to spend time troubleshooting. I actually prefer this app to many desktop applications that serve a similar function, and I've caught myself wishing my iPhone had an ethernet port so I could use it in places without wireless connectivity. I tried to think of any dislikes I had about this app, but the only thing I could come up with is that the user interface feels a little strange when you first use the app - things like figuring out the difference between the "+" and "++" icons. But, most of that fades pretty quickly. I read several reviews complaining about the choice of screen colors. I'll admit the green screen is a bit odd, but it reminds me of good old 1970's terminals I used in my youth. Overall, I'd say this is the very best $0.99 app I've yet purchased. I find it very comical that some purchasers of this application would actually go out of their way to give it anything but 5-stars because of their own lack of intelligence. It makes me steaming mad that some people have the audacity to give one star and say "Eh it's ok. Not sure how it's actually supposed to work" or, "Hard to understand. Confusing!" It's sad that these people would punish such a great developer. This is a tool, not a game. ✓ Wonderful customer service!I bought net scan today because I wanted a mobile port scanner, and i was also interested in Wake on LAN. After purchasing, I discovered that it couldn't do Wake on LAN via the internet (or I couldn't find it). I headed to the author's site and sent in a support request asking about this feature. He responded to me personally within the hour, apologizing that his software wouldn't have that feature available until the next revision. He was VERY understanding of my disappointment, and promised to get that revision through Apple as soon as he can (dependent upon their draconian review process). His response and attitude left me VERY happy with a product that was well-priced, attractive, functional, and soon to have every feature I need! I highly recommend any apps by Paully, as you just can't show enough support to companies with good customer service..Version: 0

✓ Very Good Troubleshooting ToolI really like the scanny app, and it works great long as you have wireless. It would become awesome if I could figure out a way to connect my phone with a LAN cable. I tried using this app at work, which is in an IT Department, but wireless is restricted with ACLs, and blocks every type of connection other than http & https. The only place I have got this to work is at home through my wifi. Hopefully Apple will start making apps and cables for iPhone LAN connection, so I can get full use of scanny and aps like it.Version: 1.9

✓ Great Tool but falls short testing AirPrint IssuseI purchased this tool to test network's ability to use Bonjour printer for iOS. It does list the Bonjour name but even on printers that do not support AirPrint. I have run into issues where a Router has a bug in Bonjour Protocol, and this tool won't help me identify where AirPrint fails. It displays Bonjour host name on a Brother 8840DN printer which is not AirPrint compatible, so it is misleading. I was hoping to to do an analysis on why AirPrint is failing. Also, I ran into a problem where a camera had the wrong gateway address setup in it's static IP, which prevented me from Port Forwarding Router to the camera. The camera worked fine on internal network but scan did not reveal any potential issue with camera setting. I would like to see an enhancement where more detail about how a host is configured. I like the Port Scan feature and Whois. But I still feel like I'm on the outside looking when I come in cold on a network that has been setup by somebody else, and there are problems. Other than these issues, it's the best iOS scanner out there!.Version: 1.9.3

✓ This is a truly great network scanner at a crazy low priceI've tried other network scanner apps but this one has far more features and it works much better than the others. It can discover the names of windows PCs as well as many other devices which is important if you have more than a dozen devices on your network. It's not much help to to be given a long list of IP addreses for PCs all made by IBM - I want to know what each machine is called. I found a couple of devices on our work network that we had forgotten about and the manufacturer ID of the MAC address helped us to identify them. Wake on LAN is also configurable as different manufactures use different ports for wake on LAN. I don't have to leave my desktop PC running all the time. I can wake it up over VPN, use rdp, and control my desktop at home. It works great for this. Features it needs: If you do a new scan, it tosses all the old information away. It would be nice to save off MAC and IP addresses. You can email the entire scan report, but it would be helpful to hold some of the info in the app. It should allow you to enter a MAC address manually for WoL. Lastly, native iPad would be cool. But what I'd like to see is something just like the program Cain and Abel from Oxid. Where you can select different Mac addresses on your LAN and "poison" them to pull web pages they visit and passwords and the such. Its a "password recovery program." In fact it works so well I even occasionally use it instead of my computer or laptop when needing to do network testing. I haven't had a single in-app crash, it's very intuitive and offers just about any feature you need. Really great ideas and practical design. I love how it can run ping sweeps or even do a port scan extremely fast across an entire network by sending high rates of packets per second which is also configurable. They thought of everything in this app! The interface colors as well as look and feel are very well thought out and make output extremely easy to read yet also gives you detailed information that can even be adjusted.
