✓ New version 8.1This new iPad version is almost as good as the first version 5.0 and is vastly better than the previous version. The only criticism I have is the Aa icon should be replaced by the History/Recent icon. I never, and most users, will change the font size; however, I frequently use history/recent especially when studying vocabulary or working my way through a novel. ✓ The games?Seems like quite a good dictionary. But for £6.99, surely tere must be some plan in the pipeline to translate the games into Irish, no? If so, they would represent a really engaging way of consolidating Irish vocabulary. ✓ Good reference - needs pronounciationPlease developers, add pronunciation to the Irish dictionary! This language needs help and hearing how the word sounds by different native accents/dialects would be a great addition. Is it hard to take subtitles and video and pull out the words or a sentence and stick that with the definition - where the audio is the word used in some random sentence. Would be hard to get clean data but I’m sure you could pay for a pronunciation database or something....Version: 10.0.11

✓ Good dictionary, bad gamesGood Irish dictionary. This app loses one star because the "games" aren't very useful. The words in the games only appear in English and there does not appear to be a way to change them use Irish which makes the games useless for trying to improve your Irish..Version: 5.0.11

✓ Free iPad upgrade!When a lot of companies are making you buy the iPad app separate from the iPhone app, it's nice that this dictionary had a free upgrade! It seems like a very simple app, but the more I use it, the more I like it. It's not obvious at first, but you can tap on any word in the definition and it will go to *its* definition. Very handy for narrowing down exact meanings for subtly different words. It gives parts of speech, which is necessary ("gift" and "bat" can be a verb or a noun; the translation may be different depending on its part of speech). Good selection of words; you don't have to have a live Internet connection for it to work. That's handy..Version: 0
