✓ One of the reasons I cancelled StreamlinkUnlike other, possibly more docile reviewers, I was aware this app required a Streamlink membership to function. Although Coast to Coast can be a decent show, this app is absolutely atrocious. For example, shows will only play about 1/3 of the time - trying to get a show to play is an exercise in frustration. After FINALLY getting it to play, you'll notice with horror it cant play in the background, like every other normaI audio app. I can honestly say this is the most untested app I've had tried on my iPhone. Another example, when pressing Edit > Delete All Files it does nothing AT ALL, when it should delete all previous shows (the ones which actually loaded!). This app is one of the reasons I cancelled my Streamlink membership. Shame on you Coast to Coast and Premiere Networks!.Version: 1.0
✓ Fan with reservationsI like the radio broadcast sometimes. I listen to it every night, but sometimes I can’t get thru the first hour. George has a set of questions that are used over and over: a tarot reader gets the same questions as the previous tarot reader; an expert on Edgar Allan Poe gets the same questions as the last Poe scholar, etc. He seems unable to enter into an organic conversation that moves from reply to exploration of that reply. Also, his ultra conservative views, his ultra fundamentalist end times nonsense, and lack of non-Christian view points are a major turn off - I turn off the radio. Occasionally I enjoy the show, however. I especially enjoy certain guest hosts..Version: 6.5.1

Whilst there is no cost to download this app, it is a waste of time and data as you can not access it unless unless you pay a subscription fee. ✓ Love the show, not the app. It is a downgrade.The previous version of this app was extremely basic and really not appropriate for a paid service. The new app, which took a very long time to produce and get to customers, in some ways is better but in most ways is worse. There are more clicks to get to the specific topic you want on a show. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app because it stopped playing audio for all shows, even after rebooting my phone. And most recently two different show segments were playing at the same time. I really think, all things considered, that this app upgrade is a step backwards. It really doesn’t give me as a user anything new that I need, it puts more process between me and the content I want, and it clearly is very buggy. There are a few basic feature homeruns that could have been implemented. It’s like no one actually asked customers what would make their lives easier… They just had some company make a new app without input from heavy users. It looks good but it really doesn’t do anything useful. I have always been a big fan of coast to coast and a paid subscriber. As such, I feel entitled to say that I deserve a better app to consume this content, especially given the finances available to the show in order to produce it. Very disappointing..Version: 6.1

✓ Great show, mediocre appI love this show. Enough to deal with the app. Can’t have one without the other so, enjoy! 1. Can’t read the show summary in the app. I often have many new ones when I get to it, trying to choose is random. No way to know what they are talking about so you just pick and pray. 2. It isn’t the same as other audio apps. When you click pause and play with your headphone button, it doesn’t work! It also doesn’t automatically stop playing when you unplug the headphone. Often lose my spot assuming it’s stopped when it hasn’t. 3. Doesn’t hold your place. If you want to come back later, you have to FF to find where you left off. 4. The “play next” button is in a weird place so I’m always hitting it on accident. Which is a hassle because skipping back to your last spot doesn’t work- see #3. 5. They seem to have the same 2 health guys on all the time. And even though they say they are not selling, they really are. The pharmacist guy for sure is. Get some other health people please! 6. ✓ Horrible appI wish I could give it zero stars. I love the show but this is the worst app and website customer service I’ve ever seen. My account expired for what I can only guess is because I moved and didn’t update my address. I got no notification of it and I couldn’t find anywhere on the app where I could change it. I used the customer service section in the website and got nothing. Zero. The app was no help, either. I finally had to change my address on the website and signed up for 1 year. I forgot to click on which credit card I was using and the selection went back to one month renewal automatically and I didn’t see it. Now I can’t change it to a year. ✓ App needs major usability fixesSorry, but I agree with every one-star review here. My biggest pain points, other than the lack of intuitiveness: 1. You can’t download and listen to Art Bell offline. (Or at least I can’t. Tech support’s instructions don’t work.) And streaming next to your head is not good according to the shows guests. So no Art Bell without brain cancer? 2. You can’t easily play individual segments offline anymore without running thru the whole show. The last app let you set autoplay at a global level. Now you have to hit snooze button each time you click play—if you forget, the episodes just repeat endlessly in a loop all night. Looking forward to the next iteration—coming anytime soon? ✓ Reason for low ratingI have been a member for well over 25 years and I see a decrease of interesting information over the past few years from those who call in the program about subject matter. It is quite apparent that the same six or seven people are always voicing their opinion on the subject matter and percentage-wise new callers getting to voice their opinion is very low. With over 600 stations and millions of people reported to have been listening every night it would be nice to have more fresh opinions of the subject. ✓ What’s the point?Been listening forever and a Coast Insider from the beginning but they don’t seem to get it, I just need an app that allows me to listen to the show during the day. This new upgrade allows me to “save” shows but it only plays one hour at a time. Imagine if the radio just turned off every hour and you had to turn it on if you wanted to keep listening...really? I mean they at least figured out that I would want to listen to my oldest saved shows first...finally! ✓ Lost everything i had with last updateYep. one day, everything working great; downloaded a couple of shows i missed, and the next day, i went into the app so i could listen to one i missed to find everything had changed! i can’t even find my way around easily like before! Very disappointed. Haven’t been back in since then. I did not choose to update the latest version! It automatically updated, and thereby i lost everything i had saved! Had I been asked to update, I wouldn’t have, because this has happened before! Above review was some years ago. I still can’t get around as easy as i did 8-10 years ago, never found my downloaded episodes, still don’t have a clue as to how to do it now. ✓ V6.0 ProblemsBig Problems- 1. If you’re not connected to the Internet - the app hangs on startup. The circle turns and turns not letting you access anything. 2. Even though I downloaded multiple hours of shows, the only option I can find on the Saved tab is to listen to content that is streamed. I know this is streamed content because the network usage icon is turning on my iPhone and I hear the bumper music (the content saved in the phone does not have the bumper music) Not helpful for those who like to download content on WiFi and then listen this content saved on my iPhone and avoid data plan usage. ✓ The old version was betterRestarts or crashes when any alarm or phone call comes through. Half the time you wont get anything to load. I could go on. There is another app that is slightly better but unofficial. Avoid this if possible. UPDATE: 2022 Very marginal improvement, however, if you lose your network/ WiFi while using the app, it kicks you out half the time and if it doesn’t, you have no access to “downloaded” or “saved” shows. Best option for Insiders: use your PC/MAC, go to the website and download and save to hard drive, THEN load the show on your phone. More steps involved, but if you listen a lot, it’s the best way to avoid the obnoxious (wasn’t always like this) bumper music and continuously and for reasons unknown (paranormal, maybe?) getting booted from the all and having to login repeatedly. In conclusion: I miss Art Bell and the antiquated Streamlink service. At least that was more reliable..Version: 6.6.3

A couple of updates ago, now reset me to the most recent show leaving me to scrub through the list just to pick up where I left off!?!? Why does it get worse and worse? I can simply use the site to read the news stories and get insight on the guests. Could we please get a separate “light” version of the app with the old functionality that actually remembers my login info and picks up on my archived shows where I left off? ✓ Still a horrible app.Update: the latest update not only moved everything around so it’ll completely frustrating to use, but it wiped out two years’ worth of downloaded episodes. Many of them are no longer available. Way to god-take a bad app and make it worse. Wish I could give negative stars!! Old review: The latest app update fixed some things and broke others. They fixed the autorotation problem in iOS by eliminating it (I guess that’s one way to fix a broken feature—just deactivate it). But they broke the feature that would automatically play the next episode after the current episode finished. This was a very useful feature, as they break each night’s show into separate hour segments. Now, the app stops after each hour’s segment, and you have to manually start the next segment. There is a setting for this in the app, but whether the setting is on or off, the feature doesn’t work. It’s a mystery to me how such a great radio program can continue to offer us one of the worst iOS apps ever. Wish I could give it zero stars. ✓ Version 6 update stunk up the live streamAnymore, if you are an insider like I am, you wonder why you get three minute ads for stem cell crap in the show you paid for. You will also wonder why they don’t turn on the live stream nightly as the used to. Now, many times, they forget to turn the live stream on even after the show started so you miss the open. It used to be easy for me to click the listen live button around 12:40, go sit down and relax and they’d have some chill out music playing until the show started. It was nice. And if I dozed off a little, the show open would wake me up. Now, they make you wait. So you can’t relax and enjoy it. It has been four weeks without access to the app and therefore the subscription that I paid for. Tech support just keeps asking the same questions over and over again with no help. The only reason the rating is so low is due to the app being parred down over the past 7 years in its scope, convenience and functionality in lieu of the fortification of the website. The app is the REAL workhorse here as it is in your hand or alongside you 24 hrs. Also a new phone acquisition means all saved data and shows are ALL erased!! ✓ Still has a way to go.Don’t get me wrong, I love this show. I have memories of listening to it when I was in high school and college back in the late 90s to the early 2000s. The app brings the show and older shows to be iPhone which is great but they really new to update the app with more features. On the website you can search episodes via host and episode subjects, the app does not have that feature. So if I want to find shoes by Art Bell I have to go one by one through all the shows till I find one and then hope it’s a show about a subject I am interested in. Now I am sure you are asking “well why doesn’t he just play the episodes from their website?”. The issue lies in the fact that some of their episodes use their coast to coast player (which works with iOS) but some shows use Windows Media Player (which doesn’t). So that leaves two options for Coast 2 Coast... allow for better searching on the app OR make it to where all shows on their website use the Coast 2 Coast built in player so people can just use the site to search and play ALL the episodes..Version: 5.4.16

✓ Downloading shows is a problemThe new app looks nice but downloading shows is a real problem, on numerous occasions the shows do not appear in my audio folder. This is a real issue because I know many insiders can only listen to the downloaded shows. Please take a look at this problem folks.Version: 4.0.56
✓ REALLY STUPID APPNearly all radio apps are free this one wants to charge you but doesn’t tell you. It does not prompt you to open an account but you have to have one and pay subscription. Don’t bother paying get the Parsnormal Radio App Devs this is idiotic.Version: 6.3

Perhaps you should update the app more than once very couple of years. Last update was two years ago. Since that time, both iOS 12 and iOS 13 have both been released. ✓ Update to enable multitaskingIt's a pointless app, far easier to go to the website where you can listen as well multi-task. Could be so much better and should be for the amount you pay each month. Great show though.Version: 1.0

✓ Will you fix this!This app is worse now. The old version looked dated but it worked. No complaints with that. Now I can’t play shows I’ve downloaded to my app from before January. I don’t have time to listen all the time and I download what I want to listen to later. So now I might as well just delete the app and use the website to listen to back shows because that only goes back to January and we’re in April now so the app is only going back as far as the website does for listening. Whereas before I could keep a good 6 months worth to listen to on the old app. This is pure crap and I’m a coast insider I pay to be able to listen back. Might as well cancel the direct debit cos I’m not having time to catch up and you won’t let me download to listen later!.Version: 6.1
