It DOES work, but the uses are very limted, as the frame rate, and the jumpiness even in low quality make it of no real use except to create a video record one off viewing of something that really needs video. It does a job, but is NOT a substitute for even the lowest quality, most basic of digital cameras. At NZ$1.29, it's not a disaster, but if it had been a $10 app, I would have been gutted. ✓ Not great-very unimpressiveWe know with the 3g we don't have video like the 3gs, but this was presented as a bridge for that gap. The presentation is INACCURATE. This app takes continuous pictures and streams them together as a video. When you play the video back, it appears unbelievable choppy and distorted. It does not allow for zooming and the quality is terrible. I won't argue that you could find much better with a different app-face it, 3g doesn't do video. But this app is no bridge for the absence of video, so I would hold out for the time when someone much smarter than me or the developers of this app to come along with a real solution. In the mean time, just take continuous pictures and stream them together yourself. You could probably do a better job that this app does..Version: 0
✓ Records a few coins qualitySo I'm glad I can record video on my 3g but if you've ever seen one of those horrible quality unclear Internet videos that you turned off because it was so bad- that's the qualty you will get unless your filming flowers or in animate objects. I have no use for effects when the recording quality is on .99 worth. I've used it twice. Once to see how it worked and a second time to give it another chance. Sure it's .99 but that's all it's worth. My 6 year old Sony 5.1 pixel still camera records 1000x better quality video. Your call to spend the change but be warned you are getting video quality on worth a few coins..Version: 0
✓ Almost Good / Almost ThereTried using on a 1st Generation iPhone 16Gb. Works pretty well on the phone, considering that this is a first generation iPhone. However, for some reason when trying to view the video on my Mac (Snow Leopard), the audio is clear, but there is no video (file was imported into iPhoto, and played with Quicktime). Not sure if the issue is on my mac, or it is bug when the video was sent out of the first generation iPhone. File format is .mov. I also tried to email the file, but again no video, just audio (used Gmail service). This application is very promising. I think my 1st Generation iPhone still has some life in it! ✓ Amazing update. BUT.....Well done amazing update that puts you on a par with the “other" one..... really impressed with the effects BUT... The zoom while good is a pain because you have to cycle through all the xzooms to get back to normal... not great if you just wanted to record at just 1 zoom level and the lack of a timer showing the length of your recording is a major flaw. Fix this and your onto a winner and I would think to buy the add on effects But def not before.Version: 0

✓ Awesome - but needs to catch up with QikI've got to say, I was a little surprised to see this in the app store. Did not know that it would be possible to do this. I thought the video incapabilities of the iPhone were down to hardware, not software. As others have said, I'm surprised Apple are allowing it as it's a key feature on the 3GS. But anywho, I reckon the main issue is framerate - so I look forward to updates on that. Sure, larger image resolution would be awesome, but frame rate is much more important. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a video camera on the iPhone. 59p isn't much, it'll be improved, and it's much better than having no video camera at all. Great update too :) Look to see even more improvements in the future to the framerate and quality. Will be perfect soon :) effects are cool, but I'd rather time was spent on getting the framerate up - as that's the only bad thing about this app. (the quality 320x400, in my opinion, is fine).Version: 0
✓ Poor frame rate compared to QikOn my iPhone 3G I've been looking for a good video app. I bought this app and was disappointed with the slow fame rate. The other settings are good, bit Qik shoots far better video, and your videos are shared by http, not FTP, which is easier. Qik's framerate is also much better..Version: 0
✓ To be honest, averageI brought this on my old iPhone 2g a while back and it was great at first. Since then however, I have brought an iPhone 3gs, and I must say it's not that great on it. It needs a tap to focus option and some more decent themes, also framerate is poor compared to 'qik videocamera'. In conclusion, it needs some work still, but I do recomend it to 2g and 3g users. In my opinion qik videocamera has the edge for me and I would recomend buying that instead of this altogether but it's still worth a try at 59p.Version: 0
✓ Blue Hue After RecordingI would give this a higher 5 rating, but as others have mentioned there is a blue hue on the screen after recording on 4G iPod Touches and 4G iPhones. ✓ Three For ThreeI'm shocked to see this wash up on the app store shores. Never did I think a video recording app would see the light of day here. I was puzzled but at the same time excited when downloading this, as I didn't know what exactly to expect. My hopes were not high, and after some time I'm glad that they weren't. However, my future hopes for this app are bright, as there is plenty of potential for this app. The share feature is quite nice, and the overall "feel" for this app is well polished; squeeky clean. Even the icon is flawless! Hopefully this next update will spiffy up the quality of the recorded video as well as the recording length. Jailbroken video recording apps have pretty reasonable quality, and seeing how they run on my 3G I see NO reason as to why this app can't climb to that level. ✓ AlrightThe face detection box comes up during recording. Some of the recordings aren't sized properly and only show a part of the screen/video on other media players and apps. The video is of low quality and audio is NOT in sync. Eg. Talking doesn't match the person's lips, it's delayed. There needs to be an option to switch between cameras - photo, video, front and back cameras. MORE work is needed to improve this app. There hasn't bn an update in a very long time, but there's plenty of similar apps - produced by the same developer..Version: 1.5.2
✓ Good for starters but..I like to be honest in my reviews but at the same time give the guy who made this a pat on the back. For starters camera quality is very poor when saved but as it says that will fixed sooner or later and also you can only record for 1 minute but again fair enough for starters. If you put it against 3Gs camera however it is no match in any means and I still expected a bit more into this camera but for 59p and further updates coming I'm sure, it's certainly worth it than paying double for a 3Gs. ✓ False advertisingWell this app claims to allow you to upload videos to Facebook but it really doesn't. If you go to the app web page the creators claim to have a fix that they will send to your iphone if you send them a request but, I did and they didn't. They also claim to have a upgrade in the works but, based on the other clame about the patch I have little faith in the programers of this program. It records a quicktme video which is not compatable with Facebook so first you will need to change the video format, on your pc/mac, the upload it from your pc. I knwo only 99 cents but, how many 99 cents do you take from people before you have to live up to your claims?.Version: 0
✓ Decent update, but Facebook brokeWas happy to hear facebook link was fixed only to find out it's not fixed at all. I have a 3G 16gig and still can't get videos to facebook through this app. BUT I figured out a workaround until they do fix it. Facebook now gives users their own personal email address to post straight to their wall using only email. I used this app to send video via email to that address and worked fine. But wish the app worked as described. Needs higher framerate for sure, would jump to a 5-star for me if they could just fix the facebook issue and increase framerate. Other than that nice app, no crashing issues here..Version: 0
✓ Syncing to Windows needs to change...I have my PC set up so when I plug my iPhone in, it automatically saves the photos from my iPhone onto my PC. This always works ok, as only the new photos are saved to my PC. However the videos taken using this app automatically get saved into the camera roll on the iPhone, but each time I plug my phone into my PC the videos get copied over again. And again... AND AGAIN... Now I have to keep on deleting the same video from my computer each time I plug my phone into it, and it's getting annoying. The app itself is great and probably the best that can be done with the camera hardware they have to work with on the 3G, but the syncing issue is unacceptable for a paid app in my view. If this gets sorted out I think it is worth 5 stars, for doing all it can with the tools it's got..Version: 0

✓ Well done! Revised needs updateGives the main thing missing from 3g. Latest updates vast improvement, in standard mode is now better than my nokia 2mp phone for video. Lower quality is giving far better fps, I like the twit & FB uploads. All round great revision & has now made it usable as video camera. Well done! Update 25th feb 2010 Just did test of 3gvideo apps & got interesting results 1st & best Qik,2nd video genius,3rd ivideocamera,4th ividcam. This has slipped into 3 place & i now dont use. ✓ Video JunkieI love this idea!! Since I only had a 3g phone I got this right away! Only problems are frame rate (but hey, it's still better than what all of us with the 3g had.. no vid at all!) My only gripe is that 1 minute record time is promised, but I was only able to record for ten seconds when it says 'recording limit reached'. I've got plenty of space, and even after a full phone restart it still gave less then 10 sec. Not worth your time (or 99 cents) until this issue is fixed - take my advice and check the reviews and wait for the update before you buy, or you'll be waiting with an app you can't use.. til then I'm stuck waiting for the update.Version: 0
✓ Doesn't work with iPhone 4IVideo worked just fine with 3GS but with iPhone 4 you'll get all your videos rendered with a blue tint. I have written to iVideo customer support but have yet to hear back from them. iVideo developers have failed to inform we, the purchasing public, that their app doesn't accommodate the iPhone 4. It seems iVideo customer services have their hands too full to respond to such queries. It is only common sense that if Lann Labs fails to release such a simple statement, their long-term business relationships can only suffer. iVideo developers certainly have a in-box stuffed with these same complaints. Until Lann Labs comes clean, I remain put-off by their arrogance and will simply avoid their products. Stay away. They have demonstrated that they simply don't care to take the high road of honesty and respectfully inform their prospective clients that–if it is a fact that Lann Labs is indeed working on a revision–they owe we, their customers, a modicum of honest disclosure. ✓ Updating my last reviewWow, can't believe how much this app has improved after the update!!! Keep doing what your doing!! A steal at 59p!!! If you keep increasing the fps to be the same or more than the 3gs and maybe add some effects like black and white and sepia then eveyone will buy this, even 3gs users!!! ✓ Better than nothing..2 stars because iPhone (non 3GS) doesn't have video, obviously until now. The quality however reminds me of crap mobile phone video when it first happened in about 2002. Lastly, despite other claims, you get about 10 secs of video recording before auto cut off. It the takes about another minute to save the clip before you can playback. ✓ Needs an updateQuality is good for a phone that doesn't normaly record video . It's a huge shame they advertise the link to upload videos to facebook as this is impossible due to a faulty link with no way to put in your facebook details the screen overlaps the previous screen when clicking link and I have to exit app to get back to videos . ✓ Doesn't record as long as advertisedThe description says it records video for about 1 minute. I was only able to get 10 seconds before it reached its size limit. This discrepancy is unacceptable. If the description says "1 minute" it needs to at least...at the very least hit the 40 second mark. At 3-5 frames per second... 10 seconds is not much better than simply recording some audio and playing it back while staring at a static photo. While I am glad that there is some hope of getting video recording on the 3G, this application in it's current state is not the solution. ✓ Not badConsidering not everyone uses the iphone 3gs and is able to record movies at decent quality this app is good for it's money. It's not the best quality video but if you just need a short recording of something then it does the trick. Don't expect some kind of hd quality video when you purchase this but expect something that is decent enough to do a quick video. I have an iphone 3g and this app is deffinitley worth having considering my phone doesn't record videos. With a few updates on the frame rate this could be a great app for non iphone 3gs users. ✓ Worth $0.99 for iPhone 2GMaybe my expectations are low. I spend $3+ on a hot drink that's gone in 15 minutes at the local Starbucks a couple times a week. I spent $0.99 on this app - the first ever to offer video capture for iPhone 2G (original). Yes, the frame rate is low, yes the app should store and organize like Photo does for pictures. I was able to record about 23-25 seconds before it stopped. The main disappoint I have is as Novice4 noted, once the video is exported to iPhoto (haven't tried other options), the video doesn't play but the audio does. Playback on the iPhone is OK. Need to be able to save and reply on another device - hope it's fixed in next version..Version: 0
