NASA for Negative User Reviews

Great app but won’t openI have used this app for many many years and love it dearly. I remember I used to wake up sometimes at 4 in the morning just to open this app and watch live rocket launches. I think it’s a great resource and it breaks my heart that because of the new update it won’t work. Every time I open the app it shows the home page for a split second and then crashes. I even tried checking for a new update and then even uninstalled and reinstalled it and nothing worked it still won’t stay open. Hopefully this gets fixed but if not I guess I can always switch to the actual website even though I prefer the app on mobile..Version: 4.0.40

Very basicA very basic App with no search button that I can see. Hard to find what I am looking for without having to search through everywhere. I normally give up and search google. Informative but not user friendly, I would expect more from nasa..Version: 4.0.40

APOD widget?Could use a widget for APOD only..Version: 4.0.41

Does not work, and no supportI have been using this app for years without problems. But since the latest iOS release the app launches and crashes right away. Tried to report the problem through the App Store and the App Store says reporting is not allowed. Went to the developer website listed on the App Store, and the page doesn’t have a link to report an issue. Hopefully they can see this review..Version: 4.0.44

Glitch in appThough I used to enjoy this app but it’s been a while you can’t watch sky view. It has a sensor issue. I tried reinstalling app on my iPhone it it didn’t work. So if you are planing to install for Skyview, I recommend trying some other app..Version: 4.0.41

Please! Bring Back AR Skyview Space Object IdentifierPlease make a button on the Home Screen to quickly navigate to the Augmented Reality (AR) SkyView iOS module. It seems to have disappeared with the latest major app upgrade. When I used it previously, I was floored at the level of detail and usefulness of that incredible feature in a prior version of the app. I was able to share with kids and neighbors where planets in our solar system were located in the night sky, which made me seem much smarter and interesting than I am! And it instantaneously helped many other space fans achieve a higher understanding of the amazing network of a vast, spectacular array of heavenly bodies right before our eyes… in real time! The NASA app is still my go-to when first waking up to set the tone for my day by putting life’s challenges in perspective. And I love seeing super high res images of our Earth and majesty of the universe..Version: 5.0.5

Keeps crashingApp won’t open, will just crash on start up.Version: 4.0.44

Sightings not workingSince the last bug fix on this app I now can no longer get information on when there are sightings in my area. All I get now is the wheel going endless round unable to find when next sightings will happen. I now also dont get the notifications for a sighting coming up. So disappointing asI have spent lots of evenings previously watching the ISS. Hope they will develop a bug fix to fix the bug fix..Version: 4.0.23

ERROR 1202The app I loved but now won’t work on my iPhone SE. Me sad..Version: 4.0.44

Best app everI am a kid but it is so fun because I love learning so if you like space or nasa try it and try to make it fun.Version: 4.0.26

What? No Nasa TV?Really nice interface, and this would be a 4-5 star if they hadn't omitted Nasa TV functionality. I would have thought it would be obvious to include this, as other Nasa news-gathering apps have included it..Version: 0

No longer worksI’ve had this app on my iPad Air for a long time (and my original iPad before that) and loved it! Within the last couple of updates, however, the app has stopped working on my device. I noticed that the App Store page now shows that it requires iOS 13.0 or higher (the “Works on this iPad” section of the page still says “Yes”). I’ve had to uninstall it, because it just doesn’t run at all. I’m not sure whether to blame Apple for the lack of backward compatibility or NASA for using non-backward-compatible iOS features. Either way, I’m a little miffed..Version: 4.0.29

App not openingJust recently it stopped allowing me to open the app.Version: 4.0.44

Spoon fed infoMore of irrelevant and mind control program, rather than being productive..Version: 5.0.5

Lots of cool info, confusing layoutGenerally I like this NASA app (I’ve always thought space is awesome), but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired. It’s difficult to navigate the app to get to the info you want - it needs to be better organised, to make it easier to find things. I was really hoping that this app would include maps of the planets and moons with surface features marked and labelled, but I couldn’t find that anywhere… I hope that feature is added in future. Or if it’s there already, I hope the app is reconfigured so I can actually find it..Version: 4.0.41

Love the app but now…It doesn't open anymore. Open/instant crash, every time….Version: 4.0.44

Crash when they dont want u to see something!Crash when they dont want u to see something!.Version: 4.0.31

Can’t find ISS!I’ve been using this app for 3 years now and loved it! My dad and I would check to see when ISS was going over and then running outside to see it. After my dad passed away I still used it to find ISS and would love the memories. Now with the new update I can’t find ISS as easily. You took away the sky view to know which direction to it would be coming and going. I no longer get alerts 15 minutes before ISS goes over. The dimensional views are hard to figure out hard to know what is what. I’ve tried pressing on labels, and nothing happens. Very unhappy with this update..Version: 5.0.3

Nasa tvWhat’s happened to the NASA TV live can no longer find it on this latest app Rather disappointing.Version: 5.0.5

Not such a good app refreshThe recent change to the app maybe looks glitzy but I now don’t find the information as easily as before to the point where I am no longer using the app much. Maybe it will get better with time. I’ll check back in next year….Version: 5.0.3

Ahh! So there are others reporting it’s crashingHad you upgraded your iOS between the last time it worked and it not working? Worked fine on my wife’s phone until she upgraded to 16.5. I upgraded the next day and the same thing happened. Removing and reinstalling the app doesn’t correct the problem so there must be an incompatibility in the api between iOS 16.5 and the app, or the new security patches in the upgrade won’t let the app use whatever protocols it had been using..Version: 4.0.44

A push by the EmpireActivate bluetooth activate location shouldn’t..Version: 4.0.31

Glitches on openingApp glitches upon opening. Happening for my daughter as well. A shame as we were both enjoying it!.Version: 4.0.44

TrashThis app has nothing images, I downloaded it because I thought we could watch planets in 3d models and spot them. All you can do is watch the news and read long texts talking of one boring particularity of the planet, I would like to read about the possible life there and the future missions. Not the geography, even tho it is all that scientists find interesting. So decided to delete the app 10s later..Version: 4.0.44

Gives notification but with blank screenToo slow resulting in no data other than a blank screen after 5 minutes.Version: 4.0.30

Latest version slow and poorI’ve enjoyed this app for a few years. Only just took the latest update and now it’s hopeless. Images take forever to load, usually I will give up. Today I persevered, then wanted the info, but the old method to just click is gone. And then it is presented as an overlay, rather than a caption. Lastly, I can’t find half the other stuff I used to enjoy (not too sure what though)..Version: 5.0.4

Sky view crash the appI never had problem with the NASA app but now I cannot access sky view anymore it crash at every occasion and never load!.Version: 4.0.44

Please bring back the old format!I miss my APOD photo widget! It was so nice being able to see a cool space picture on my home screen without having to open the app. I also miss the ability to like/favorite images, I had tons of photos in that folder and now they’re all gone. The ability to filter images is gone now too, so I can’t even search for images with specific tags of keywords. :(.Version: 5.0.2

Hu?I love the nasa app but somethings happened lately. It will not open for more than two seconds! At first I thought it needed an update but after I updated it, it still won’t work! Can you fix it?.Version: 4.0.7

“Autoplay” feature is sorely missedI loved this app on my apple TV because it would just cycle through randomly selected videos and play continuously. It was so easy to learn new things without having to search and dig. Now I can only view one video at a time. Since most are short-format, this means a lot of fiddling with the apple remote (difficult to use with my arthritis) and constantly having to parse through menus to find something new to watch. I might just stop using the app now… Please bring back autoplay! “Add to playlist” (that we can’t see or interact with) is not a suitable substitute that was the old NASA TV..Version: 5.0.5

CrashedLoved to try the app but crashes on my iPhone 12 😐.Version: 4.0.31

No new video content on Apple TVHave not seen any videos like This Week @NASA updates since Jan 7. Yet they seem to be available on other platforms like mobile and web..Version: 4.0.38
