✓ Useless ApplicationDownloaded the App to move photos from iPad storage to Lightroom in bulk. Firstly the app being free here is misguiding as the moment I opened the installed app I was forced to subscribe to use it. After doing so the app did not function whatsoever, being unable to access anything on the iPad. I’d recommend just avoiding this download all together..Version: 16.0

✓ It’s great when it worksI use this to transfer files from my OneDrive to my local network drive. It constantly disconnects from my network drive and I have to restart the app which doesn’t always solve the problem. Very time consuming and found a wonderful alternative called FE File Explorer. ✓ FRUSTRATING!!I don’t often rate apps but I need to with this lite edition. You are constantly stopped from evaluating the software by popups bugging you to upgrade. While this I can appreciate, but there’s a stupid countdown timer that won’t allow you to continue what you were doing until it’s elapsed. ✓ Connects for what purpose?Unlike the other two file browsers I've tried today, it can actually connect and authenticate to a local SMB server. I can't rate it any higher because the app is ruthless nagware that will constantly beg you (once every 3-5 clicks) with full screen ads to purchase the premium version and all the author's other software, preventing you from continuing with timers. It also bugged out and did not allow me to continue into any sub folders as it did not believe I'd had suffered the full advertisement experience. It's crippled to the point of worthlessness and obviously quite old and out of date with modern app design approaches. Don't download, don't buy, look elsewhere. ✓ Could just be me, but..Reads like a good product but I can't get it to connect to my local network disk. Got a stand alone Ethernet iomega net disk, pcs connect to it no problem and show the shared drives. No password or user name required for the disk access, but this app brings up a screen for user name and password which must be completed putting in the admin credentials doesn't give access. 30 mins trying, now deleted the app..Version: 0

✓ Photo library support seems brokenWorks ok as a way to explore NAS and remote servers, but trying to explore your ipad photo library seems to be broken. Nearly every album just shows binary files with a generic icon instead of a thumbnail preview, and attempting to open it says unknown file type. I can only preview the 3 or 4 images i have in Camera Roll. I thought this might be an IOS limitation, but it is not, since FE File Explorer is able to thumbnail and preview all albums and directories in Photo Album..Version: 20.27

Getting around this lite version is frustrating with 5-10 second delays (repeated adverts) every time I push a button. ✓ Major drawbacksThis is a very nice and very full featured file manager, yet with all the features it has, it has a couple major drawbacks/problems. The main one is that the view/sort settings (i.e. list or grid, and sort/display order) apply to all folders and devices. In other words, if you want to view your photos as a grid (screen full of thumbnails) sorted by most recently taken, yet you want to view your files on dropbox or anywhere as a list of files sorted by name, you can’t, you can only have one setting that applies to everything. Unbelievable and extremely inconvenient having to constantly change these settings, even though they put a button for it in the menu bar on each screen. They also talk about photos having no need to take up space on your phone/ipad, yet unlike every single other similar app I’ve looked at, even including apps like DropBox, this app has no facility to automatically upload new photos to another location, you have to remember which you have transferred and then manually select and transfer them. Again a serious lacking feature. Other than that, the interface needs a bit of work, with things like most screens having a down arrow in upper left corner as well as a home button in lower right, which both do exactly the same thing, and some screen having a big close button instead of a down arrow, not a very consistent interface. The app does have a great many features that other apps do not, but for me, the most important aspect must be a good quality file manager/browser, and the inability to set the view/sort for different devices (let alone different folders on a device) makes it just too awkward and unpleasant to use. Add to that no auto photo/vid upload (like all other apps have), and this app get dropped from my list of suitable basic file managers/browsers..Version: 7.5

As others have noted, there's an upgrade ad after almost every action, and some actions have countdown timers to deliberately slow things down. Vidoes aren't played in full--they're just sampled. And some functionality (e.g., showing files in iCloud) are disabled. Using the app on a day to day basis would be very frustrating, but for purposes of seeing what kinds of things FileBrowser can do and what it would be like to use it, it's acceptable. I'm giving the app three stars, because it let me do what I wanted to do: see what it would be like to use FileBrowser. As a standalone app, however, it's really more like one star..Version: 8.2

✓ Very frustratingI followed the advice and downloaded the lite version to see how it connects, etc. After EVERY attempt to do anything to test this thing it prompts you to buy the full version with a countdown clock before you can proceed. I'm no expert so it was trail and error for me to find my Mac (which I gave up on). They need to stop with the buy me prompts every time you try something. This may be a great program but I'll never know because I'm not going to wait 10 seconds every time I try something! ✓ Worthless trial-wareIt claims to be a trial, and if you interpret “trial” as: “a source of vexation or annoyance”, — it would be correct.
