✓ If Moses had this, we wouldn"t have wandered for 40 years!I am in Israel as I write, staying in an apartment off the usual tourist route. iGo has been a godsend. It works quickly and accurately. This application has allowed us to travel widely in the country with confidence and without constantly refering to a map or a list of turns. Voice commands are clear. It works very well on my iPhone 4. We named ours "Shlomo" - as in "Shlomo says go left". Seriously, in the US I have been using NDrive for some time and it has been great. If I didn't already own that, I would not hesitate to purchase the US version of iGo. That said, entering destinations of Hebrew addresses can take some getting used to, but the spoken english directions are excellent..SDThumVersion: 0

✓ Works well as a sat nav but could do betterJust got back from a weeks driving holiday in Israel. The igo software got me most places I wanted to go, and it kept me off the pay to use route 6 as i had requested. The map was up to date enough for my needs, though the points of interest are severely lacking for me as a tourist. The keyboard doesn't remain in roman mode, rather it jumps back to Hebrew at every oportunity. The voice instructions are clear, and I heard a lot about being over the speed limit - for some reason it's not often signposted. You can use your iPod and igo software reduces the volume when giving an instruction (it also works through the dock connector). Though often times it reduced the music and didn't give an instruction at all. It's not as good as navigon is, but it was cheaper than renting a nav unit on my holiday, and works really well..U07chVersion: 0

✓ IGo for IsraelThis is a great piece of navigation software. It just navigated me through a maze of streets in Tel Aviv, and got me where I was supposed to be! ✓ Great iPhone SatnavBought this app for our pesach trip 2011. Worked brilliantly. Was much cheaper than renting a Satnav from the car rental company. Takes a bit of fiddling around to get used to the different screens and functions- I'd recommend you experiment for a bit using different screens and searches before you begin using it properly. Some points of interest are old- eg restaurants that have closed down etc. I agree that there are not good tourist poi - so do not try and use this as a tour guide. 1 huge drawback though- which is not specific to this Satnav- is overheating. On a +1hr drive in the heat to Jerusalem the iPhone got so hot it had to emergency shut down!! The combo of sun beating down on it and heat generated from intensive use is a big problem. We had to pull over to side of road just as we entered Jerusalem and wait for it to cool down. For shorter trips 45min this wasn't a problem. ✓ Best interface - works fine on iOS 5.01 and 5.1 (beta)Tried a few navigation apps for Europe and this has the best navigation interface by far. The Israel version is just as good, the local database is very detailed, leading to easy to follow navigation instructions. BUT... This app takes FOREVER to load, not to mention that it will very often crash while loading (say 8 times out of 10). To make things more "interesting" it sometimes slows down to point where it takes several seconds to respond to a button push... In short - great navigational capabilities rendered almost useless by a buggy first implementation (for Israel). Looking forward to the bug fixes… ------- Updated for 2.2.1 version on iPhone 4S --------- All the above cons were fixed by NGG (or irrelevant on 4S) so I'm a happy camper now :-) Addition of Traffic status, speed camera alerts and satellite view FREE :-)).GiobattaVersion: 2.2.1

✓ Works great - almost flawless. Works with tom-tom car kit and iPhone 3GWorked like a charm while on vacation in Israel. I used this application with: - iPhone 3G (not 3G S) - TomTom car kit (GPS signal receiver) Conclusion: The essential tool for a foreigner to safely navigate the streets of Israel. (thankfully available on US iTunes store unlike the Orange Israel app). Much better than the rental car company's no-name GPS. Only problem: Bit slow to startup - sometimes the application is too slow and the application exists (this is an iPhone feature). Note to NNG: make it launch really quick. Persistence prevails and the application does launch (albeit slowly) most of the time. Everything else is a great user experience.
