✓ My favorite app!!This is my favorite app and one of the best apps I know. This app works like a dictionary for so many kinds & types if wine I can find!! I have been learning a lot from this app with different types of grapes and regions, taste, style, and pronunciation of grapes etc etc. The description is nicely written, too. Also, the other helpful thing about this app is that every type of wine has suggestion of dishes / food. It helped me a lot when I was making dinner for my guests the other day. ✓ Great for newbies; handy for prosI've considered myself a wine expert for several years and I run a wine bar/restaurant with 300 wines available. While I've never needed it professionally, I'll be taking the level 1 Somalier test soon - more for personal gratification. While this app helps consolidating grapes and their regions it does nothing to, for instance, break down the 1855 Classified Growths of Bordeaux. Which is fine - that's allot to ask. I recommend this app for all my new waitstaff and it's great for me when I have a brainfart on the floor. My request is for more focus on the food-pairings..Version: 1.2

✓ Really solid appIt took me a while to make my first wine related paid app purchase. When I finally did purchase pocket wine I was not disappointed and the only drawbacks I saw were occasional crashes and the aesthetics. After last update I have not crashed once and the layout and changes are phenomenal. The content is more than I expected and the grape/food pairing areas are great. The locations could use an interactive map or at least some visuals in future update. I would definitely recommend this app for those either in the wine trade or are very interested in wine. Only negative remark I have for last update is that the app is permanently on landscape for iPad.Version: 3.1

✓ Well Done - JUST ONE THING...(To start with my "JUST ONE THING") It really annoys me that no one has noticed that the little lemon icon next to "Crisp" under the wine styles list is pixelated and needs to be corrected so that it is sharp like the rest of the icons so it looks nice on the retina display. That being said-This is a very nicely designed app. Easy on the eyes and fingers and pretty educational. My only disappointment was with the "my taste" feature. I was hoping that it would be able to give me a list of specific wines to try based on my palette. It gives you an idea of what style wines you should try, but to someone new to wines, that doesn't do much for them at all. I was expecting something more like a short list of wines to choose from based on my taste with a percentage of how well I would like them or something of that nature. From the start, you get asked some simple questions, to work out what wjote/red wines you will like. This is called 'My Taste' which builds a profile of your wine taste. It has an indepth guide of the variety of grapes all around the world, which tells you how it tastes and also a detailed description of the grape. Highly recommend this app. Updated review after a couple of years in use - This is a great wine app, especially if you want to record the wines you have tried and give them a score. It’s a good bit of software to refine wines you like and also to explore new wines going forward.
