✓ Reading The Gazette on an iPadI used to be able to read articles every day, and now I am limited to two articles per day. I don’t understand. I am a lifelong Iowan who because of my age and chronic lung disease had to move to Illinois to be with my children, but I still like to follow what’s going on in Iowa..Version: 5.03.180061333
✓ Good, but lots of tech issues.The app is good for those of us living out of state who like to keep up on the Hawkeyes. However, there are LOTS of bugs and tech issues. The app frequently crashes, and the high school sports articles never load from the main sports headline page. And I think it is really poor judgment to put someone's face as the link from the main page to the obituary section. Very awkward situation..Version: 4.2.5
✓ Good appThis is a good place for information about the CR area. However the ads stay on the screen too long and sometimes you have to back completely out as though it is stuck..Version: 4.19.370021178
✓ Poor executionFirst, the app itself. Crashes frequently to the point of freezing and shutting down the ipad. Tech support suggested reinstalling. Didn't help the problem. Second, they may say this has "breaking news", but learning about an accident backing up morning traffic the day after is not breaking. The app is updated between 8am- 11 pm weekdays only. The news is rarely breaking news. On the weekends, the fluff pieces from the front page are posted here (except during football season). The articles on the app are full of broken links and captions for pictures that don't exist. It seems that things are just cut and paste between platforms without regard for the requirements of the platform..Version: 4.0.1

✓ Keeps refreshingI just started getting the online Gazette and the mobile app doesn’t work very well. It’s constantly refreshing, and then it goes back to the top and I have to scroll all the way back down to the bottom. ✓ Deleting AppThis app has started limiting the articles I can read, and now it is asking me to except the cookies for California Consumer Privacy Act. ✓ Was good until...The ads started popping up. It's annoying but, I understand, gotta pay the bills. However, the ad space for sale in the OBITUARIES section is completely disrespectful and tacky. ✓ Entry splash ads are obnoxious but app is otherwise okayAbout 2/3 of the time the app startup is slowed to a crawl while it serves up a full page "splash" ad that is never (to me) relevant. ✓ Great for Iowans who live out of state.I live away from Iowa now but use this app daily to keep up with what's going on in my home state, the Hawkeyes and Cyclones, and more. ✓ Seriously?I check the news maybe a couple times a month and now you want $15 a month to do that? I think not. I’m not going to read news daily so that much is absolutely outrageous. Learn how to add advertising to offset charging users who might only read a story or two a week. ✓ Daily disappointmentAs a means of keeping track of daily eastern Iowa news, the Gazette app is a dud. Some articles have been on the "front page" for weeks. ✓ FreezepopThis app freezes all the time, doesn't matter if you're in the middle of a story and scrolling down, or trying to pick a story to read. It's absolutely frustrating that you can't get through a story without having to restart because it froze. Just on a side note, the editing is terrible. Stories with wrong pictures, sentences without spaces; as an app it is definitely lacking. Hope they are able to update these issues, ones I never had on my Droid..Version: 2.0
