✓ Why did you change it?????Ugh! I’m so incredibly frustrated right now! WavePad used to be so easy to use. I used this app to edit songs to shorter lengths for dance competitions. All I had to do was get the right time signature, click on it and drag the section I wanted cut out. Every time I put my finger on the section, a different window pops up. ✓ Make sure to save plenty of copies!I recorded a three hour podcast today, and it was auto-saved on my iPad. Closed my device and took it home to edit. When I unlocked my iPad, the entire file was empty. The file name, date, and time are still visible, but the 3 hour recording is nowhere to be found. Checked on the recording several times throughout the podcast, and it was recording fine. Definitely considering making the switch to something that doesn’t require the extra steps to protect my content..Version: 9.61
✓ Doesn't work for mp3 filesI have been starting to turn my old LP records into mp3 files and was hoping to use this app to edit them on the go. I have the files saved locally to my iPad, but the app won't recognize it as an audio file, even though the VLC app will play it no problem. This app opens the file and then tells me there's no audio data in the file. I tried moving the file to different folder locations including iCloud, but it still won't work. Guess I'm back to using Audacity on the PC. UPDATE: I have now also tried the desktop version of this app and although the interface is nice to use, the cost of this software is ridiculously expensive for my humble purposes of splitting mp3 recordings from Vinyl records. ✓ Upset that I bought thisI’ve used WavePad on an old phone of mine for years. And I’ve loved it that entire time. Now I have a new device that’s using a different Apple ID, so I had to buy it a second time. It simply REFUSES to open my M4A files. And meanwhile, I try the exact same file on WavePad on my old phone, and it loads it perfectly no problem (it runs SwiftConverter and then loads the file. No issues). I’m using an older version of WavePad on the old device — maybe they broke something with an update. Really frustrated that I just dropped $10 on this app (for the second time), and it simply does not work. It loads some other formats fine, but not the M4A files I need. CLEARLY it supports these files, because it works on the older phone. Found nothing in the help pages to fix this. Might have to get a refund somehow. ✓ File lostThis is a decent audio app. I liked it so much I even paid the $10 for all the features (although they all seemed to work anyway). Recently I was editing and audio file ( about 45 minutes in length) and as soon as I went to save it, the app crashed. I opened the app and the file was gone. Completely and totally annihilated. Nowhere to be found. I had spent several hours creating and editing that file for nothing. Now I have to start over. I could understand if the file didn't save or even if it had become corrupted due to the crash, but for it to disappear completely?? Where did it go??.Version: 9.65
✓ Good but syncing is flawedThis has been handy when I need to edit away from home, however sometimes I’ll be editing a recording and suddenly the audio will not be in sync with the sound waves which makes it impossible to edit. When I’m working from 3 files it means I have to save everything, exit the app, and then reopen all files again, and find the positions I was previously in. Makes it so much more laborious and I don’t know why it keeps happening on any file regardless if I import or record straight onto WavePad..Version: 12.07
✓ Importing from iTunes into iPhone Low QualityI just started testing WavePad by importing several iTunes and CD song files onto my iPhone 8. I immediately noticed the audio conversion to monophonic and low bit-rate audio quality. I searched Google and the NCH website numerous times for the option to import higher bit-rate and stereo to no avail. I could also not find any reviews discussing this issue or if upgrading would solve the problem. Very odd because the WavePad features offered are pretty much top of the line. ✓ Great but chews up ipad storageThis is a great editor with one major flaw: you CANNOT delete the cache. That means it will take up A LOT of ipad storage space. After 6-7 uses, it’s often taking up around 60GB of my storage. Your only solution is to delete the app and reinstall it. You will lose any settings you’ve created, but that will clear the cache. ✓ Good on PC, Bad on PhoneI wanted the phone version to work on projects while I didn’t have access to a computer, and quickly found out that you can’t even export a file. Even the demo on computer was at least able to convert to a project file, why can’t I even do the most simple thing on the app? At least the features and everything works. It’s just pretty annoying that it even shows the screen, let’s you change the audio settings, but doesn’t export to files. Pretty sure that even exporting should be a thing for demos. ✓ Bait & Switch!I want my 99 cents back! Upon first opening the app it presents me with the Normalize function. Wonderful, that’s exactly what I need and it works well. Ok, I’ll pay the 99 cents to remove the adds. Then when I try to open another file I’m again presented with the Normalize function, but now I must pay a monthly subscription to use it! Not cool, very sneaky and underhanded. I will never use this app or any other from this developer ever again. ✓ CAN’T GET WAVEPAD TO RECORD TO MY IPADJuly 9, 2023 I have the latest version of Wavepad on my late version iPad, it’s own software fully updated, so that cannot be a factor. I have been trying to make a sound recording to a Wavepad new “file”, with the sound coming from home audio speakers and with the iPad’s built-in microphone as the input source for the music going to the Wavepad recording. Notwithstanding multiple attempts over a period of an hour there I’d no success. Further, Wavepad has no real active “help” station, only a FAQ list that pops up and has very sketchy information to a minimal number of “questions”. The “Description” of what the app is actually capable of is also rather abbreviated and does not make clear if Wavepad is mainly a “playback” instrument, versus a full record AND playback software. Hope this will help others, and perhaps motivate the developer to address this important subject..Version: 17.53

✓ Problems restoring purchasesWhile WavePad is an ok audio recording app, BUT I have have had unresolved problems in trying to restore in app purchases when installing it on my iPhone. When I installed WavePad on my iPad over a year ago, I bought an in-app purchase to be able to choose the audio format for recording (e.g. MP3) because the default recording format is the somewhat bulky WAV format. It works as it should on the iPad but when I installed WavePad on my iPhone, it was asking me to buy this feature for which I had already paid in the iPad version. I tried the 'restore purchases' feature in the program and it told me that 'restore purchases' had been successful. The only problem is that the feature I am trying to restore (i.e. choose audio recording format) has NOT BEEN RESTORED. I've wasted hours trying to restore the purchase but, no luck. WavePad's help desk was hopeless!!! They gave me unclear instructions as to how to solve the problem and when I told them this didn't work, they went totally silent. If you intend to purchase features in WavePad for use across your devices, I would urge you to think twice and look at alternative recording apps in the market. I will rate this only 1 star not really in respect to the app itself but because of the poor after sales support..Version: 6.14

The phone has plenty of power to run this program, however, it freezes after basically any action. Example: open file, select portion of track to trim and then it freezes before you can trim. ✓ Good but a few things.Love how easy this is to use. It’s taken over from my other audio editors. I hate that hitting Stop takes you back to the start of the file. When I’m editing 2 hours files this is so counter productive. Pause does whats it’s supposed to, but with both side by side its so easy to hit the wrong one. Why is my app taking up 7.5GB of space? There are no files loaded so where is this space going? The only way i can get this down seems to be to delete and reload the app. Hardly the correct way to work. ✓ Buggy before the update, now the app won’t open at all.Before the update I would have rated the app 3 stars, minus 2 stars because each and every time I export the audio file to iCloud the app shuts down immediately upon the accessing the iOS files app, it has taken at least two attempts each time to successfully export and save audio file to iCloud files app. I gave this app a really good go before rating it, I would not recommend buying the monthly subscription, I bought 1 month previously, hoping it would deliver better performance but even the paid app was far too buggy for me to justify the recurring monthly expense. If you’re looking for a portable alternative to audacity keep looking. This app has potential, but having tested it for 6 months I can tell you that this app will eat away at your time and productivity if you try to persevere with it. ✓ Fade out and Fade in Randomly reduce selection to silenceI paid for the full version and the most important basic function for me, fade in and fade out, randomly will cause the selection to be reduced completely to zero, and undo also randomly doesn’t work.
