✓ Subscriped but still couldn’t access contentIt is rare that I review an app but I had to here! Unfortunately I paid for a subscription to have the unlimited pass but the app continued to say my pass was disabled. I have tried to contact Coach Guitar to fix the problem but I was never contacted. Finally I have had to cancel through Apple subscription. Has anyone else had this problem? Its a shame because I think the app could have been good if I had full access!!!.Version: 5.2.7
✓ Cancelled subscription 1st day of free trialNone of the videos worked at all. As soon as I started free trial zero part of this app worked. As well as the videos not playing the app just started freezing. Not spending £18 per month on that! ✓ Terrible Technical SupportWould NOT recommend. Started using this App when I received a guitar for my 55th Birthday. Purchased “Premium Access”. App started out well and enjoyed the lessons. Not sure if Apple Updates has caused instability, however I can say with certainty that support through this App is less than desirable. Very poor response time, one line emails. If the App worked the way it did I would give it 5/5. That being said the instability and the accompanying frustration results in a 1/5. ✓ Let us print the tab!!!!!It’s misleading to say guitar tab is included. You cannot print which renders the tab pretty much useless. I’m not busting out the iPad every time I go to play and even if I did would have to stop to scroll through the tab which is ANNOYING! We pay a good price to be here. Let the people print the the tab!!! Worried people are going to get a month subscription and print all the tabs for every song? Firstly, who cares, not the core value of your offering. But if this is the concern, put a limit - print up to 3 tabs a month. Just a thought. Recos- [1] ability to print the tab is #1 [2] ability to select multiple section and have the play consecutively [3] ability to slow down to .25 % for those solos [4] don’t show the “about lesson” Home Screen for each song by default. It just increases clicks to get get to the main content. Make it secondary for people who care to read it. ✓ The quality of lessons has significantly decreasedI have been an avid user of CoachGuitar for several years now, and I must say that I am deeply disappointed with the recent changes it has undergone. What used to be a fantastic tool for learning and improving Guitar skills has now transformed into something barely recognisable. However, the recent updates have completely altered the app’s core functionality and appeal. The lesson library, once a treasure trove of educational content, now feel stagnant and limited. It feels as though the app has regressed rather than evolved, as the quality of the lessons has also taken a noticeable hit. As it stands now, I can no longer recommend CoachGuitar..Version: 8.2.7
✓ Used to be FREE with ads, what happened?I’ve been using this app inconsistently for many years and at first you could pay for each song you wanted to learn and take your time learning it. I’m a slow learner i have dyslexia. Then they did the amazing change where you could open any lesson for any song for free if you watch an advertisement first. It was awesome I was learning several songs at once and when I would get frustrated from one I could easily switch to the next and then back. But now I need a subscription to open up all the saved lessons I have made progress on. WHY? Even the songs I had initially purchased back when you could pay per song are no longer available to me. Again I ask Why? I’m switching to Rocksmith because a subscription to me is just not worth it. This app was an amazing way to learn guitar but again I’m a slow learner and I can’t afford the subscription. At least Rocksmith let’s you pay per song..Version: 8.1.4
✓ Pretty Good but Could Be Better!I’m giving it 3 stars... The idea they have here is really good, kinda like ‘guitar hero’ but geared towards teaching instead of a game.. Shows the notes light up over the strings as the teacher plays. But the interface needs some tweaking... We as guitar players are used to reading TAB, but their fretboard is laid out the opposite direction... there should be an option to have the fretboard exactly like TAB... that’s my first complaint.. My second complaint is they number the fretboard with a mirrored number next to it... it makes it way more difficult to quickly read. They do this so they can flip the neck for lefthanders but they should just have one set of numbers per right hand and one set per left hand... Fix it Coach! ✓ Glitch (or whatever)This is quite a good app, really it is. But I have one small problem. I finished some of the beginner lessons and went on to play We Will Rock You. This is my problem. The app kept on saying I was playing the wrong note well before I even played it. It’s no big deal to me, but it was quite annoying and led to me getting a 25% on the lesson and the app saying I played 18 notes wrong. Anyways, I would be really grateful if you guys could patch this issue. (Edit: Still a good app, I feel like I have to say that. ✓ SongsThere are songs that are specifically designed for electric guitar playing but they display the lessons using acoustic guitar. Example in question is the song “Whole Lotta Love” By Led Zepplin. They displayed this whole song lesson on acoustic! This is a travasty considering paying a premuim level subscription. I have emailed support many times over the past years complaining about this and they always said they would correct it. Why are they using acoustic lessons on songs clearly was designed for electric guitar? Alot of artists are missing too. ✓ Great for Learning Sections of a Song.I have been using this app for a while now. I prefer this over a lot of the other apps out there for learning sections of songs I have been having difficulty with. The loop and slowdown function is very useful for that. The reason I am giving this app three stars is due to the fact that it is extremely difficult to play an entire song at one time. The full screen tablature view is too zoomed in, which would be alright if there was an auto scrolling function. The ability to print out tablature would also help..Version: 5.6.1

The pursuit of profit above customer experience seems to be the values this company holds dearly. I hope this is a bug on the new update! I sent customer service an email they reset it but it didn’t work. Sent several more emails and now they just keep telling me they can’t find my membership. ✓ Coach Guitar appPretty good way to learn songs of varying degrees of difficulty. It breaks each song down into sections for easier learning, you get the song, video and tabs. You should be able to print out the tabs, but you can’t which is a real problem if you want to follow along using the tabs. You can’t even read them on an IPhone because they are too small. They also don’t add very many new songs very quickly. I’ve been a monthly member for quite awhile now, I’ve made several song requests and not one of them have been added and they’re all populate songs by famous artists. You also can’t take advantage of the yearly membership specials without being on a computer. Kind of doesn’t make sense considering this is an iPhone app? I’ve asked specific questions regarding the membership specials and never had one email responded to? Guess they’d rather me be a monthly member, makes sense considering it’s more money for them in 12 months. I’d like to upgrade to premiere member for a year, but not without a special and not without the ability of doing it on my phone? Wonder if they read these? But when i am trying to learn a song, an ad pops up every other video, which in itself is inconvenient. but when i am on one video and i tap on another when an ad pops up, it won’t switch to the video i tapped on. So i have to watch 2 ads and wait for loading in between everything, so i loose 2 minutes trying to do that. Combine that with every single video i need to watch. ✓ Not quite thereThe app has a nice song catalogue and the video demonstrations of how to play the chords and pick / strum are great. The backing track is a nice touch too. The problem.. for me at least, is the tab that’s included doesn’t scroll, so you have to move it manually while trying to play. There’s no plug in / play to microphone option either. ✓ Subscriptions.I just gave this app the two stars because I downloaded it and saw the subscription and being a musician singer/ songwriter I don’t really want to pay that much. I will definitely not know some of the basics on Theory and maybe a few others. I’m like a Lot of very famous bands. A lot of them can’t read music or even write it. They know basic chords and scales and what all the notes are. They call it, “Playing by Ear.” I do read music but it’s hard for me to just look at a song and just start playing it, I would have to take a bit to read the notes. I would just play the roar notes or chords. I just wanted to know if you Have to pay to use the app? Can I start free and if I like it and it clicks then I can subscribe? If there is a free part , is it the bare basic and is it any good. I have also been charged for large subs I never wanted on apps and games. The games are Free and one I played didn’t even have in app purchases. But I was then subscribed to the “ premium.” Where I get rhins I didn’t really want or ask for. ✓ Too many adds!Nearly every time I open/ exit a new song I get an add come up, one that can not be exited too. Additionally, it always wants me to buy the premium pack, in the three minutes I got the app I got 3 ads and 2 premium pack requests, no matter how many times I clicked NO to the offer, it just came shooting back, which ruined the app for me, also it’s quite hard to follow and I wanted to learn jingle bells as it was near Christmas time, however the only jingle bell option turned out to be a different song completely! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Also, this should not be a 4+ as the amount of offers it gives you that include paying large amounts of money overall, a young child could accidentally accept..Version: 6.2.3

✓ DO NOT SUBSCRIBEMy card was accidentally charged for the ONE YEAR subscription for this app. I’ve sent over 4 emails to CoachGuitar explaining my situation and requesting a refund, as the application has been removed from my device already and I’ve never even launched the app. They’ve been giving me the run around, telling me to ask Apple for a refund. I’ve already spoken to Apple at length regarding this issue, and it is not a Apple problem. My card was used to pay for the subscription directly through CoachGuitar, not through Apple. For some reason they don’t see this as a legitimate reason and keep referring me to ask Apple for a refund. Save yourself the trouble. And please don’t contribute to this app or their developers who seem to only want your money and couldn’t give less care towards customer service..Version: 5.3.1
✓ No support and no reward for early supporters of coachguitarVery disappointed with the support team at coachguitar. I purchased about 8 songs from coachguitar before it moved to its subscription based app. I cannot access any of my purchased songs and the app keeps prompting me to become a premium member. I don’t want to become a subscriber, I just want my original songs I purchased. I’ve sent many emails to the support centre and response has been poor and sporadic. ✓ Used to be goodI liked the app before they forced a monthly subscription to get new music. I have a busy life and go through spurts of guitar practice. I enjoyed being able to purchase only the songs I wanted and having access to them permanently. I can still access my purchased lessons, but cannot add new ones without a sub. Unfortunately, that means I will not be adding any additional lessons. The subscription is just not worth it for me. In the end, they are losing money from me. I bought many lessons prior to this change. I cannot recommend..Version: 5.0
