Better Homes and Gardens for Positive User Reviews

Pretty goodI'm old fashioned and prefer the print version, but it’s nice to just carry the iPad on vacation. Also, the pictures are more saturated with color, and some of the instant connections with other sites are nice. I enjoy the different ways that I can see the content. I've had a few small problems with not being recognized that I'm up to date on my subscription, but I haven't needed to call customer service or tech support. I do wish landscape view was supported. I also wish this was included as part of my print subscription, as another magazine does. Overall, I'm satisfied with it..Version: 2.15

Great! This is really well done. The content has been formatted to take advantage of the iPad, it is not just a PDF of the printed magazine. I would have given it 5 stars if I could print or otherwise save recipes for later use. You can "share" them, but you have to sign up for an account, or sign in through Facebook or other account..Version: 2.0

Love itBeing away from the US, I had been wanting to get my hands on BGH US version for soooo long. Thank you for making this possible..Version: 2.0

Love the mag but ...I enjoy reading the magazine, but this month I am not able to download any new issues as I am expected to sign in, but the signing in process is only for the print customers and I have been a digital subscriber, I have no idea who to turn to for help. I have emailed BHG a few days ago but have not received an answer..Version: 2.12

Great app; print subscribers get free digital versionThis app is easy to use and digital mags look great. Print subscribers get free access to digital versions of app. You just need to log into the section for print subscribers and follow instructions. Then you can download the digital versions of the magazine you subscribed to. I think this is great because I don't have to scan all the articles/recipes I want to keep, plus you get to lounge and read the hard copy if your'e used to that, plus you can give it away..Version: 2.14

Had some issues, but....I had some issues with this app at first. I downloaded it a few weeks ago unsure if I wanted to subscribe. I came back to it a few weeks later ready to subscribe digitally only to run into all sorts of issues telling me I have to buy the app when I was IN the app, lol and that it couldn't connect to the App store and then just errors in general. I deleted the app from my ipad and reinstalled it and this fixed my issues and I was able to download my first issue. If you are having issues with his app, try deleting it and re-installing. I hope it works for you too!.Version: 2.0

One of the best apps I've had!I hardly ever review but I'm so impressed with how BHG have run with the concept of their mag on the iPad I just had to comment! It's the best one on the iPad so far that I've seen. They erased everything they knew about setting up their mag and started fresh with the iPad in mind. there are all sorts of buttons to play with and clever ideas working with the iPads abilities. Plus it's landscape oriented which I much prefer. Keep up the great work!!!.Version: 2.0

Best magazine app out thereThis was the first magazine (e-zine?) that I downloaded and that was dumb because every other magazine has been such a let down. Better Homes is by far the most interactive, well thought out app of it's kind that I have seen yet. This app really utilizes all the awsomeness that comes from having a tablet. The only two quirks I have found that drove me crazy was; 1: When I opened my September Issue for the first time it opened to a black page. I did not know this and thought the app froze or crashed and re-installed it 3 times before I figured out what was going on. Also you have to tap the very BOTTOM of the screen to get the tool bar to pop up, not just anywhere like other apps. 2: I'm still having problems signing in, and I subscribed through the app. I am guessing because this is a huge known issue that an update is coming soon. Overall I love it, and would love to see maybe a scrapbook tab similar to Pinterest where you can clip and save your favorite articles from different issues in one place. I also would LOVE a recipe box so I can save and flip through all the yummy recipes, or look for something specific. Also I saw the advertisement for BHG's Celebrate app and went ahead and got it. Best 99 cents I've spent since Angry birds:) I'm excited to see what else BHG will think of. I am hoping that some of the other developers are paying attention and will use this as a "standard" or "basic" model..Version: 1.4

Like itI enjoy using this app to view my paid Better Homes & Gardens subscription. Each month, there is at least one interactive portion of the on-line magazine that is associated with either a room ( you can change wall colour, drapery colour, pillow fabrics etc) or with a planting guide/pot where you have a selection of flowers/shrubbery that can be either identified or mixed and matched (I planted my summer pots using an interactive article this spring:) There is so much to enjoy including recipies and interviews with some clever DIYer. I find the on-line viewing to be convenient for home and travel and I haven't had any problems with crashing of the site. It makes sense for me..Version: 2.15

Does not load/always in buffering, updatedThis app is terrific, with colorful articles and great resources to help you beautify your life, as well as your home! UPDATE: The fix came quickly and the app uploaded faster than it previously did. Thanks for listening to the users. We greatly appreciate it!.Version: 5.8.0

Love it!I haven't had any of the problems other reviewers have had. Set up my account no problem. I love the inter active features...videos, recipes and resources are so easy to navigate. To download additional issues you just open the magazine and use the menu to add more to your library. Once the magazine is downloaded to your library you don't have to have Internet access to read it anytime. I tried other Newstand magazines and they just don't look as nice and don't have interactive features. Best part is that I am a mail subscriber so the iPad issues are free!.Version: 2.0

LOVE!I have been using the digital version of this magazine since it first became available and I have LOVED it from the beginning. It is one of the best digital magazines I have seen. My husband still uses the print version but I haven't picked one up other than to give to him since this came out. It is easier and quicker to read the whole magazine and so much easier to store and organize things to remember. No more folders haphazardly stuffed from the pages ripped out! the interactive aspects are pretty cool, as well. I have nothing negative to say except that, as a gardener, I would always like more on gardening, ha!.Version: 2.1

Great IdeasLove the ideas! Thanks! Glad I can browse the mags without having to carry each of them...Version: 2.0

Convenient once you can log inI had trouble logging in like everyone else. I already have a subscription through the mail. After numerous failed attempts, I finally clicked on the "Account" button on the bottom of the screen. From there I clicked "Get Started" and entered my login info again, and it finally recognized me. I had to enter my account number to verify, but it worked! What I really like is that I have the option to download past issues. I look forward to having a few issues to flip through wherever I am!.Version: 2.11

Love itI'm Australian deaf mother, I love this magazine. I wish you will avoid too many advertising in this magazine that we don't need it as we see it all the time at the shops :).Version: 2.15

Awesome App!Much like the other reviews I kept trying to figure out why my magazine issues weren't displaying in my "Library". What I had initially did was downloaded the app and registered by only providing my name and email address. Not the way to go! I uninstalled and re-installed, setup a new account with my account number and then proceeded with my name, etc. Better instructions could have been provided for print subscribers looking to go digital. Truly a cool app though and love how I can view all of my previous issues as well!.Version: 2.0

BHGIt honestly doesn't bother me that this is the US magazine. My only complaint is that it took forever to download, section by section. Other mags I have downloaded were done in one go and then you could look at everything. This downloads as you go through the magazine which I found a bit annoying..Version: 2.0

GoodInteresting read every month with good use of interactivity. Not so many ads that they ruin the experience either.Version: 2.15

HOW TO GET THE DIGITAL ISSUESHERE IS HOW TO GET THE DIGITAL ISSUES 1) Delete the Better Homes and Gardens app This will temporarily delete the issues you may have already purchased but they will come back after you finish all the steps 2) Shut down your iPad Just holding down the top off button for a few seconds will suffice 3) Turn iPad back on and redownload the Better Homes and Gardens app 4) Open The app and go to the store 5) Double check that you are signed out first before the next steps 6) Click on the red button under current print subscribers 7) Don't type in your email here but but go above that to the underlined "tap here" 8) Fill in the first section of needed information (not the second) and click subscribe 9) After the screen comes up, click the red button 10) Now fill in your info and click the button to continue 11) Be patient!!! Don't immediately try to go to your library! (I made this mistake and had to start at step 1 again) 12) I'm not exactly sure what came up here but you should be able to figure it out by reading 13) Now go to your library and download any issue you want! Hope this helped! It may seem like a lot of steps but I can promise you it is worth it! Happy Home and Gardening!.Version: 2.0

SuperiorThis magazine application is a nice addition for those who subscribe to the paper subscription because of the added features and direct links to other websites. I don't subscribe to the paper version but was glad to see available this application. I appreciate the book marker feature, so one can save pages for future reference. The price of the annual subscription is really cheap, plus you get 2 free issues (total of 14). I just download March magazine and so far I'm pleased with the beauty of the magazine, quality of the product and the features it has to offer. K. Skinner.Version: 2.1

Difficulty paying with PayPalHad issue with PayPal but developers responded right away, good customer support..Version: 5.7.0

YeahFinally! Thank you BHG. I had trouble getting it to load also but finally figured it out. I ignored the subscription questions and looked to the right at the sign in. It would not let me use the already a customer so I signed in as a new customer to digital subscription. You have the option of using your name and address if you dont have your account number. It didn't look like it did anything but then I noticed at the top it said sign out so I touched the library button at bottom and it finally showed several grayed out magazine covers and I touched one and it started to download it. It took a very long time to download ( that might have been my wifi but I dont think so) and if I got out of the app for about five or so minutes a screen would pop up saying it was canceling download. Just hit continue and it will take you back in the app and continue. You can get back out again. I hope this helps the people who couldn't get it to work. Good luck!.Version: 1.4

Totally Enjoyed it - Version 2.0 with iOS5 on iPad2I purchased the year subscription and got the November issue. Everything worked like it should except for one little glitch where text would not scroll down after listening to an audio clip, but flipping back to the previous page and flipping forward again fixed it. I really enjoyed that the digital version is very interactive through audio clips, step by step video of recipes, paint color ideas, links to products, etc. I have purchased other magazines that were just a digital version of the print copy....such a rip-off. This one is so much more..Version: 2.0

Updating my Old ReviewI would like to update my review. BH&G has now allowed for print subcribers to download digital for free. Thank you so much for listening to us. I had no problems logging on and downloading the latest issue and am very impressed with the digital edition. Thanks BH&G As a current subscriber I was very, VERY, disappointed that the digital edition had to be purchased separately - and for a higher price than the printed edition. I contacted BH&G and they responded that they would each have to be purchased individually and that the printed subscription could not be transferred to the iPad edition. Shame on BH&G! Even People will let you view the digital edition if you already subscribe..Version: 1.4

AWESOMEI don't understand all the complaints and all the one star reviews. My wife receives the print version and I just entered all the information to read the digital version. IT WORKS! And the layout is great, colors are awesome, very well done! Some other magazines I have via Zinio are just a PDF of the pages, very substandard! This digital version even has the recipes, etc. Adding to the review. I don't understand what problem people are having logging in and starting the digital version. JUST FOLLOW THE QUESTIONS. Yes I did make some mistakes and had to do the logging in a couple of times because I was jumping ahead and not reading the entries properly. All my fault. Just went to view my "wife's magazine" again, and the layout and proper usage of the iPad format is really AWESOME. All magazines should this. Great job. Now my wife is saying tha it is time I get my own iPad. She also has become an avid internet Scrable player, so I "loose" the iPad on a regular basis..Version: 2.0

Amazing...once I figured it outIgnore the post below, she actually does have trouble logging in...but it is not her fault. It took me some time to get it right and to this day, I'm not sure how to articulate how I got registered and made it work. It just suddenly worked. BHG needs to seriously work on that, even if they say they have. NOW that I can use this app, it is amazing. I have every issue since I subscribed to the print edition available on my ipad. And it really is the whole magazine...not an abridged piece of crap version. I love it..Version: 2.0

Great AppThis is a fantastic magazine. They gave done a great job on this application..Version: 1.3

Easy process but must follow directionsI was concerned about using this app after reading the other reviews. It took me only 5 minutes to download the app and start reading. Just make sure you sign in under the print subscribers if you already get the magazine. Also you will need to Create your account. I had already done that part but forgot my password which I had emailed to me. Really cool digital version. I would recommend trying it. Good luck..Version: 2.14
