GPSmyCity: Walks in 1K+ Cities for Positive User Reviews

Great for Multi-city TripI’ve used the app for cities in Europe, Israel, New Zealand, and Australia. It’s great for an overview of a city and especially an initial orientation. One advantage is having commonality of format across cities and much easier than guide books or city-specific formats..Version: 4.5.1

Great appGreat customer support. Informative app and very customizable to see what you want to see..Version: 4.7

Essential GuideGreat little app. Helps plan and offers routes to follow and it always knows where you are..Version: 4.5.1

Useful appI used this in Vienna, Budapest and London. It helped me plan my itinerary and the GPS aspect meant I got lost less often!.Version: 4.4.3

It’s greatIt’s great.Version: 4.7.3

Really useful! We relied extensively on GPSmyCity in Lisbon and Porto, using City Introduction and Historic Center walks in both. We also read What to See in Ponta Delgada. The app really improved our travel experiences dramatically by guiding us around the cities and bringing us to places we surely would have missed. The sight descriptions were very informative and provided just the right amount of info in a very accessible way while walking. We found the app easy to use and very intuitive..Version: 4.7.9

Très utileFonctionne parfaitement même sans connexion Wi-fi.Version: 3.3

Great App for overseas citiesThis is a great app for traveling, especially to overseas cities. Before you leave the US, you should put in your hotels, metro stops, etc. Then you are able to use this offline and it gives you great directions. At time when I was in the planning stages, I had issues with syncing and downloading, but I must say that the customer services was right on target. Combined with Google Maps, you will be able to travel with confidence. Thank you GPS My City..Version: 4.7.6

Useful assistant fir sightseeingOnce I got the hang of the app found it very helpful. Found places we didn’t know existed..Version: 4.5.1

Fantastic tours for the inquisitive travellerThis app is a fantastic addition to your travel collection. It allows you to download walking tours in locations around the world and see parts of a city you might otherwise miss. Unlike more conventional tours you get golden nuggets of information about bars, restaurants and other insider tips you might otherwise miss out on. For those on a budget it is also much better value than conventional tours and you get a workout to boot. What’s not to love.Version: 4.7.4

Wouldn’t be without this appThis app is so useful for finding the best things to see and do in a destination. I love that it uses your location to show what’s nearby. I’ve found some excellent recommendations using this app which comes with me on all my travels now we’re back exploring again.Version: 4.7

GPSmyCity: Walk in CitiesExcellent app to support your city walks! Makes it easy to design your own walking tour! Love it!.Version: 4.5.3

GPSmyCity AppGPSmyCity App is very helpful for folks who like to take self-guided walks. We recently used it in the UK and found the app to offer multiple walks that would meet anyone’s interests. There are city introduction walks, special interest walks (like Beatles or Harry Potter walks) Historic City Walks etc…The app provides maps with push pins to denote significant sites. It will even “Find me” on the map and track you as you walk if you are interested. I was. Best of all, the app provides written information on each of the sites listing historical and pertinent information just as if you had printed out a walking tour on your computer with multiple sheets to carry. All walking tours can be downloaded so you do not have to have an active internet connection. Perfect! We plan to use it again shortly on our tour of other European countries..Version: 4.7.9

Walk with ConfidenceI’m a “woman of a certain age” and love to travel solo or break away from the pack if I’m traveling with a group. This app allowed me to research travel articles, select sites I was most interested in, download maps ahead of time (anticipating the trip is the start of the trip for me), and then navigate with confidence. I particularly liked seeing where I was in relation to the route, as I often veered off-route when I saw something interesting. The descriptions of the sites added to my appreciation of them. This app will be part of all my future travels..Version: 4.8

Love it!This app takes the guesswork out of sightseeing since it lists major sites plus gives detail on all the sites. The walking tours are easy to follow and the direction works well in big cities!.Version: 4.7.9

Great content sometimes buggy interfaceThe detail and work that has gone into developing the content sourced globally really made our trip in Japan all the more rich. Discovering the country’s highlights on foot is one of our preferred pastimes so this app was a great fit. The interface would benefit from a refresh to a bit of the « buggy » feeling that you are flipping pages in a guidebook rather than an app. But if you come to it with the focus on content and the preservation of your data by being able to download everything in advance it’s a pretty useful travel tool..Version: 4.7.9

Excellent app!I took self-guided tours for Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sarajevo, Mostar using the GPSmyCity. I especially love the offline functionality, which guided me to all the attractions when I didn’t have data. It’s better than Google map because it even offers informative descriptions and pictures of the attractions, which I found very helpful to identify and learn about the places. I highly recommend this app!.Version: 4.8.1

Superb walking tours!Check out these amazing self directed tours and you will not regret it. Easy to use; follow the instructions; check out extras (restaurants etc). But please DO NOT FORGET YOUR EAR PHONES if you are in a busy, noisy city - the only real fault we found - and that was ours! Enjoy. You will certainly be downloading more places when on your travels. helen.Version: 4.7.6

Save yourself some cashOn our recent travels we noticed innumerable tour groups walking along side us in our GPS my city tour. Checking the cost of these trips, the app saves you a lot of money. We love this App. Upgrade to get the off line version, so you don’t lose signal.Version: 4.8.1

NO ADS PleaseIf I pay I don’t want to see ads especially ads relating to unethical products such as gambling. Please don’t allow these on your app. Thank you.Version: 4.6.8

Great app for the walking city touristFantastic app to help you explore a new city and understand where all the key tourist sites are. We have found it invaluable to help prioritize what and where to see. Thoroughly recommend it..Version: 4.8.1

My absolute best sightseeing app - you owe t to yourself to give it a try!Dear Tobin, I have used GPSmyCity all over the world - it is the best app to use if you like charting your own way through destinations. Walk categories are arranged to appeal to those with varied interests and you can also set up custom routes. This is my must have app for my travel! I have used this app in over a dozen different travel destinations from Kuala Lumpur to Lucca to Copenhagen. I no longer travel without first looking to see if there is a city maps and walks edition for the city I am traveling to. The app provides so much flexibility to set your itinerary, allowing you to select only those things that you wish to see. The maps are accurate and the app will establish the most efficient walking route based on the points of interest selected. Try it once, you will love it..Version: 4.5.1

Great AppJust came back from 6 weeks traveling around Europe, not a fan of group tours but still like to site see so this app was perfect for that. We were able to check out the cities at our own pace and being able to add our own hotel in was a great feature as well..Version: 4.8

Great for work travelWhen you’ve got limited time in a new city, GPS MyCity is a one-stop quick tour guide to get you around the best parts of the city. Highly recommended.Version: 4.8.1

Great app for exploringI love this app and use it everywhere I go. It’s a great way to orientate yourself in a new city and marking as seen becomes addictive!.Version: 4.5.1

Loved this!We decided to take a trip into Philadelphia at the last minute. We weren’t sure what we wanted to see and being able to look at the options was so helpful. We mapped several routes before settling on one that worked for us. We ventured off of the route a couple of times but it was super easy to get back to the next stop. I can’t wait to try on our next adventure! The hardest part is deciding where we want to go next!.Version: 4.5.7

Great app for learning a new cityI’ve used GPSmyCity on three trips now: Sydney, México City and London. It’s been great! The variety of walks covers any number of things a tourist might want to see. The write ups for each destination along the walk are informative. Some of the walks have audio which is a feature I appreciated so I could look around while listening to the description. (There also can be a little hiccup with the audio where it may play twice or simultaneously, and they’re working on it.) On occasion the map directions indicated a sight was in the wrong side of the street, but they always include a photo so it can be located easily. One feature I especially liked was the ability to create my own walk, which the app then organized by site proximity and walked me through, step by step. It was great! Highly recommend this for your next adventure..Version: 4.7.6

Superb travel guideI visited Kraków Poland for the first time with my daughter. We thought it would be ideal to have a self-guide in an app to use so we could go on our own schedule to visit sites, and not be limited by the schedule of a regular local guide. I found the GPSmyCity city app and set up a tour in several parts of the city. It worked wonderfully and we had a great day. It really allowed us to go to the sites, learn about them from the description in the app, but also stop in any little shop we found along the way. It has made me think that it is much easier to get to know a city. I am going to use it for my own city of Boston. I highly recommend it even if someone is going to work with a local guide. And I thought the cost to purchase all the data for a city was very reasonable for just 4.99. I did not have any ads to worry about and the app just worked great..Version: 4.5.1

Love, love, love this app! This is a great travel app. I have used it in cities in France, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Switzerland, New Zealand and even my own home city of Sydney, Australia. The provided sightseeing maps and site details are very informative and you can even create your own walks by marking the things you want to see and leaving off those you don’t. The GPS directions are really clear and easy to follow. It is a cost effective way to tour a city at your own pace and you get to choose the places you want to see unlike the limitations of an organised tour. I might also add if you do have any problems with the app the developers are only an email away. They reply promptly, are very friendly and really go out of their way to help you . Cannot recommend it highly enough..Version: 4.5.3

Great travel articles to give context and historyI really enjoyed using the app to visit places in my home city (San Francisco) and learn more about their history without hiring a tour guide. I do wish however that there were more features, such as the ability to see all articles by an author I like, and filters when searching within a city. I hope the team will continue working on this unique app..Version: 4.7.3

The Only App I NeedCan't say enough about this app. It seems like the availability of resource is endless. Having relevant articles about the destinations and curated walks takes the effort out of planning. Loved the "stamp" feature - it made it fun. My only suggestion, would be to have a little bit more flexibility with the route map and guidance… With the ability to expand the map a little bit more. other than that, I don't plan to download any other resource in the future. This is the one to have..Version: 4.7.7

Ideal for independent travelers! This is the perfect app for independent travelers. We have stumbled all over Europe trying to piece together routes to what we wanted to see, & so often ended up exhausted & having missed something we walked a block away from. No more! GPSMyCity is unobtrusive, informative, & a real pleasure to use. We are leaving in a few minutes for a ‘custom walk’ we created in the App last night, to see more of the marvelous city of Prague. The app now knows our hotel location, everything we’d like to see, & has made us a route to follow. It’s the best!!.Version: 4.5.3

A great travel guideThis app allows you to download free travel articles and handy tips for hundreds of different places around the world. Pay a small fee to upgrade the app to get the guides to include GPS directions, enabling you to get around all the local attractions and also off the beaten track. Brilliant..Version: 4.2

Fantastic AppI had no idea such an app with the incredible ability to create Self Guide walking tours of major cities.Version: 4.7.1

Berlin WalksThis app has truly made my trip to Berlin - I have found the gps Find Me feature great and have loved the freedom of the self-pacing. The map is great too.Version: 1.4

Great app for city exploringGPSMyCity is my go-to app whenever I visit a new city (looking at the Venice walks just now…) It has a mixture of walks covering the main tourist sights and those that get a bit off the beaten track. The free version works well but I like the paid version so that I can get GPS navigation as I walk..Version: 4.6.8

Excellent travel appWe have used this app extensively in Europe, Iran and other countries. It is such a good option to carrying heavy guide books and also offers some different opinions..Version: 4.5.1

Great appUsed this app in over 5 Mediterranean cities and found it invaluable for the site descriptions and walking tours to see the “must see” sites..Version: 4.7.4

Excellent travel companionI downloaded this app just before going on a trip that included three cities in the South of the USA. Even without much time to familiarize with all the features offered, I could enjoy several aspects: proposed sightseeing walks, tracking my footsteps without wifi connectivity, relevant travel blog articles, pinning my own choice of sights on a city map. It represents an excellent guide for many cities in the world and I am eager to use it on all next opportunities..Version: 4.7.9

My go-to for self-guided tours around the worldGreat information on the maps, and they have many cities. Only issue is that the GPS often doesn’t track my location.Version: 4.5.3

Terrific Guide at your FingertipsI used the app on a recent trip to Italy for self-guided walks in Milan, Como and Rome. Much of the rest of my trip had live guides. The explanation of the sights to see on the app was as good as the live tour. It's a plus to be able to review the importance of the sights in advance and to see the route you will be following. Besides the map and the explanation of the sights there are a variety of travel articles that provide great additional background. Those articles were very helpful for our visit to Cinque Terre. We plan to go to Japan next year and I look forward to using the app again.Version: 4.8.1

A travellers most wanted companionExcellent app that covers many cities around the world. It has all the attractions listed and marked as must see or optional. It allows you to set your starting point and provides distance guide. It allows you to set a route plan which places you want to see, and set them in a custom walk. It opens up a map and gives you the guidance and walking instructions as you get to the destination. Absolutely wonderful..Version: 4.7.9

ParisA great app. It provides an excellent basis to start exploring lots of cities. Head off on a walk, be flexible, and you’ll have a great time..Version: 4.7.9

Best app for travel to get aroundI saw this app on the App Store cited to give it a try. I just got back from Italy and used it in bologna, Revenio, Assisi, and Rome. The description of what you are seeing fabulous. there, a concise, and to the point we’re u there, a concise, and to the point. The navigation directions walking and buy a car on Spot on. I discovered areas and buildings and much more I had never seen before in Rome and had been there many times before. I highly recommend this app to anyone that travels..Version: 4.7.9

Happy to have gps walk my city with me on my travelsBefore I left for Italy I was able to plan our days in a variety of cities - not all since some cities are not covered yet. I found the app hard to use at first - not intuitive at all - but keep trying because it has proved invaluable as we’ve weaved our way through the streets of Rome. I keep saying to my teen we used to have to carry a map and try and figure this out - now there is a voice telling me exactly when and where to turn (maybe a little too often with the voice going off every 10 meters) if you miss your turn off you do get rerouted quickly - might be nice to get an option “you missed your turn would you like to reroute?” With practice I am getting better at using the app. I’ve mostly used custom routes but have tried a few of the sightseeing routes and found them useful. Love that a small blurb is written about many sites so I’ve got more information about what I’m looking for and absolutely appreciate the comment at the bottom which summarizes why I would stop at this or that site. I’ve used a few of the travel articles and the “go there” link. My advice is practice with the app before you travel. Download everything you think you might need and want (wifi access seems so often unreliable) before you leave home. I can’t imagine travelling without the app and only wish it covered every place we are going to!.Version: 4.5.3

First timeI wish I had this app early. It is great for visiting new place and I rely on this for my entire travel week, with google map. The place I visited, does not provide any visitor information. I was desperate to look for guide, this app solved the problem. As software developer, it is easy to use, and good navigation, the feature to design your own tour is great. The only thing is to update the latest location place, to be fair that applies all apps. It is beneficial if this app to be integrated to a live gps map, it should not be difficult. Thank you for such good app that very useful tool. 👍👍👍.Version: 4.7.3

GPS my cityExcellent app…used for Europe, very much like Apple Maps. Best of all works offline! Not data or internet needed. You can customize your walking tours. Work getting. Recommend..Version: 4.7.6

My Go To App When Visiting A CityThe GPSMyCity app is my go to app when visiting new cities. It is so easy to download articles with excellent tips and places to visit offline and then hit the pavements and walk. I love to be able to explore on my own when I travel. I have paid for the Upgrades which has given me so much more information. Love this app!.Version: 4.6.8

Great AppUsed the walking maps while On Vietnam and was easy to use and gave great suggestions. Have even planned a walk in my home city based on one of the city walks. Would Highly recommend.Version: 4.8

This is an excellent app, easy to use and full of infoThis app is amazing, simple to use and makes visiting places so much more interesting. We used it first in Antwerp and followed the 'City Orientation Walk'. It was easy to use and we were guided around the City with ease. The travel articles are brilliant too. We visited Hamburg but my husband wanted to use a 'hop on hop off bus ' which didn't work out well ! I said we should have used the app!! Next stop will be Ghent and I have already looked at the walks and articles - can't wait!! Thank you to everyone who put this app together. It's worth every penny..Version: 4.5.2

OfflineI tended to use this to determine my location and a landmark that I wanted to get to. I pre downloaded the city I would be and I could navigate the city and find landmarks all offline. The only small issue was that the app would at times route me to the back of a building as opposed to the main entrance. Great App..Version: 4.7.3

Perfect for city breaksUsed in St Petersburg for a weekend away, found out so much information, I cannot wait to download some more tours both at home and away to find out more. Well worth the price!.Version: 4.6.1

Athens, Santorini and Tel AvivGPSmyCity is worth the upgrade. This is the best app so far for the adventurous, self-guided traveler. I am just discovering the apps full potential. We used the app for the first time on a two week vacation in Israel and Greece (Tel Aviv, Athens and Santorini). The city orientation walks and city walks were particularly useful. The walking apps work offline, unlike Google and Apple, and bring you through many local areas so you can start a tour from where you actually are. The text to audio narration made it possible to actually enjoy the attractions rather than having your nose buried on/in your phone. We visited The Bouzouki Shop in Athens and chatted with the owners. They were pleasantly surprised that they were included in the city orientation tour. A great vacation and experience..Version: 4.5

So Very Helpful!I find this really helpful as a way to get to know new places I’m visiting. The tours are in-depth and interesting - and varied. I go on a lot of cruises and these tours are great as also saves me buying a cruise line or independent excursion. I see there are quite a few negative reviews. I guess people not as happy : keen to pay for tours on the app. I find it is tiny price compared to doing an actual physical tour…!!.Version: 4.7.3

Really helpfulEasy to navigate. Informative enough for me. Cheaper than a walking tour. I like the app !.Version: 4.5.7

First Walking TourOur first attempt at using this app started a bit rocky until we started using the in app photos. The tour of Coimbra’s historical buildings was just as advertised. Unfortunately it wasn’t a loop so return to our car was a bit of a hike. However, the walk through the city took us to some amazing neighbourhoods we would not have ventured to otherwise. Well worth it!.Version: 4.7.6

Invaluable travel toolWe just finished a multi-city European trip and used GPSmyCity in every location. We found it invaluable, and more useful in many respects than Google Maps for just getting around. We found streets and sites off the beaten track, and found the photos and articles informative and just what we are needed. We are giving the app 5 stars - not because it is perfect but because it is the best of its kind that we have found, and we want to encourage users and its development team to keep improving the app. It made a great vacation even better..Version: 4.4.1

A must-have app for travelers!I am a frequent traveler and travel blogger and can't praise the GPSmyCity app enough. When I find myself in a new destination, unsure of what to see and do, this app is a life saver! It offers such a wide variety of destinations and highlights unique attractions that you won't find in any guide book. The upgrade feature that allows you to follow along travel articles in real time offline is awesome! It's like having a personal tour guide in the palm of your hand! I definitely recommend!.Version: 4.7

Great walking day tour of DubrovnikI’ve spent most of the day following the introductory walk around Dubrovnik. With the pavements full of people, this tour covers the great sites but includes several that don’t attract the big crowds - and I felt privileged to follow this excellent guide. The final step was the cable car which I did one way @ €15, then walked down - it’s a long way and quite gradual but rough and good shoes are needed. Note signage to show the start of the track down is pathetic. It begins behind the fort, but I failed to find it without advice..Version: 4.7.9

Great for travelersThis app is great for those going to multiple cities for travel. Already using it to plan my next trip to Dubai. The price is cheaper than paying for a walking tour, especially if you are in a group. You get info on the locations and directions which makes it easy to use. If you’re on a budget and want to learn the history without spending hours planning, this is a great app!.Version: 4.7.1

Amazing app could have done without itBrilliant what more is there to be said!.Version: 4.6

Well Worth the MoneyJust arrived in Edinburgh Really useful to find landmarks and find your way around Would recommend.Version: 4.5.3

Ideal for all travellersDelighted with this app which allows me to access high quality travel guides and city walks – to discover the highlights of places I am about to visit and to put together my own compilation of places I want to visit and restaurants I want to dine in. And it is all in one place – my iPhone. No bulky guide boots and bundles of leaflets and maps. A really efficient, easy way to plan my trips..Version: 4.6.8

Great escape within the city for such a cool experienceFirst time using GPSmyCity - what a great find!! Easy to use and takes us on our Miami adventure..Version: 4.6.8

A standing ovation for GPSmyCityWe were excited about our upcoming trip to Ireland, Scotland, France, and Portugal and for the first time in our travels we decided against renting a car and to see and explore the sights on foot. In doing the research to see if we could find an app to help us in exploring Dublin, Cork, Edinburgh, Inverness, Glasgow, Bordeaux, and Porto, we won the lotto when we found GPSmyCity! It was wonderful for not only providing walking routes with gps but the sites with text was like having our own tour guide. We also greatly enjoyed and appreciated being able to create our own custom walks. We had the best trip ever and for this we would like to give everyone at GPSmyCity a standing ovation for creating such a wonderful app!.Version: 4.7.9

Well worth it!Very useful application. You get what you pay for, as the expression goes and the upgraded version is definitely worth it. Have used in the offline mode in multiple cities. Helped avoiding getting hopelessly lost!.Version: 4.5.1

UsefulIt's a free app (don't bother upgrading) that gives you information and OFFLINE maps for cities that you download, free. I've been looking for something like this for a while, because I cant always get wifi on my iPod and I don't want to have to carry around a map. You can add custom markers to the map. The map isn't beautiful, but it's clear, zooms in/out well. There are a couple of annoying things but I don't mind so much..Version: 1.4

Great guide of RhodesI used the app in Rhodes. It was very informative and easy to use. Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of site information screens for the direction features. I have a old iPhone 6 with no data and it worked fine except the text to speech feature skipped words. Great value..Version: 4.8.1

Professional personal City tour guideWe tried this App in Chester. It worked very well, especially as the phone just had to be able to know the location. The content had been down loaded before with good web access.Version: 4.7.6

Great Travel tollI excellent tool to learn much about the city you are visiting. Great right ups on landmarks. Really enjoyed the themed walks such as food tours in some city’s..Version: 4.7.9

Very useful toolWhile it can be fun reading lots of reviews of sites and putting together a list of things to see when visiting a city, this App takes most of the legwork out of it. I recently visited Lisbon and found this to be an incredibly useful tool. You can use one of the existing suggested tours or build your own. In my case I started with one which included the most important sights, and added my hotel and other things I wanted to see to create a personalized tour from the hotel doorstep. As well as maps and integrated GPS each site has a brief description and photographs. This is a very useful tool for those who want to see the important stuff, all laid out on a map with GPS, but who don’t have a lot of time to delve through guidebooks and Google to put it together from scratch!.Version: 4.8.1

Excellent appI used this app in two Hawaii Islands and it changed our trip to the best experience..Version: 4.6

Really Wonderful AppWe are constant travelers and have used this app in so many cities around the world. It is more than worth the cost with great navigation, really insightful suggestions, and up to date information. Those whole claim that Google Maps is its equal are wrong. This is not just a navigation app; it is meant to give details about culture, history, architecture, bars, restaurants, and every other aspect of visiting a city. It is our “go to app” when we first arrive in a new city. The walks are complete and informative. You get way more than you pay for with this fabulous app. Don’t hesitate..Version: 4.5.2

Cheaper than a guided tourOkay, I see some negative reviews about the map and the clunky app, but I have to say for the price, and yes, including the new yearly subscription, it’s still very worth it. I have used 6 of the paid tours and a few free ones with GPSmyCity. I started with the free, but when I paid for the upgrades (less than $5 at the time), I was pleased. Because I travel at least once or twice a year, I’m willing to pay the subscription mainly to support the team. I just recently came back from Florence where my wife and I spent over $200 for a private guided walking tour that included a fantastic lunch. No complaints, the guide was great and we learned a lot, but it was only 4 hours long and we were at his mercy. For less than $20 using this app, we would’ve been able to map out the tour we wanted, read in advance, and take our time. Yes, you can use Google and Pocket Earth and other free tools, but come on - for $20 you can get a well organized and fun tour with a pretty decent offline map. Spending hundreds in flight and hotels, I don’t $20 for something that would cost 3 times or more for a true guided tour. Oh, and the support team has been awesome for times when I did have problems with the app. I’ve been using them for years and will continue to do so. Don’t let the few negative ads steer you away - give it a shot....Version: 4.5.1

Great app both in city and beforeFind the app really useful both when we are travelling as well as before we go. We check potential destinations for possible sites to visit and walks to take. Really recommend it..Version: 4.4.2

Nice to guide your walk around a cityWe enjoyed it. We got to visit some locations not mentioned in travel guides. I would like if the stamps appeared on the map as well. Also, it would be nice if the description specify if the location is to visit or just looked at. One location was misplaced for a couple of kilometres away! But thats the first time it happened. Normally it is accurate. Overall there is room for improvements but I think it is worth the money..Version: 4.7.6

Thank you!We are now in week 4 of a 7 week trip and have used GPS My City at every stop where city walks we’re available. The app has been an invaluable tool in planning our trip before departure and while on the road. Descriptions of sights are accurate and offer plenty of details to understand what you are looking at. I plan on using this app for future trips and highly recommend the purchase of the app to take full advantage of all the features. Happy travels!.Version: 4.7.9

Great appReally enjoyed this app, as did my kids. A great low cost alternative to a tour guide.Version: 4.5.1

Sightsee Like a Broadway StarWe first used the GPSmyCity app on our first (in 20years) trip to NYC! We wanted to see as much as possible in our 3 day trip! The app mapped out walking tours for us which kept us moving! The details of the sights made it easy to decide which stops we wanted to see and which ones we were willing to pass over. We plan to use the app again when we visit in next month, not to mention on other trips around our home and beyond!.Version: 4.7.2

Excellent self-guided tours and informationWe traveled through Spain and this app had comprehensive information and self-guided walking tours for the six cities/towns we visited. Easy to use with great information and insights which enhanced our trip..Version: 4.7.9

Excellent for navigating around a cityAbsolutely essential, especially for Venice where it is easy to get lost. Love the 'find me' facility and the way it shows the direction you are heading. Lots of useful info and ideas. So glad I have used it. Found that we followed suggestions and discovered places we would never have known about. The walk routes were brilliant. And it was fabulous to be able to enter an attraction and say 'show me the route from here to there.' Especially as it all worked offline. Perhaps a search for street names would be helpful. Don't think that is there but the map is excellent so can usually find what I want..Version: 4.1.4

Brilliant appGreat app and best way to find up to date reviews by people who have recently been there and found best places to eat and visit..Version: 4.6.8

Useful for independent travellersI have used a couple of city walk type downloads from GPSmyCity so far and they were just what I was looking for. I could utilise someone else’s research and insight, while exploring destinations independently. Saves me time and enriches my experience of the city..Version: 4.7.2

Great app for travelingI have been a user of this app for years and have used it around the world. Prior to buying the subscription I purchased individual maps. Much less than paying a tour guide and you can use it at your own pace. My wife and I love walking around new international cities and learning about places to see and visit. The maps are detailed and will track you around the city. You can also create your own custom walks. GPSmyCity is the first app we open in a new city for an orientation walk..Version: 4.5.4

Great appWorks really well with excellent background commentary..Version: 4.7.3

Adore this app!I downloaded this app a few days ago, and started using it to plan a multi- city trip to Europe. Wow! I love this app - it makes planning super easy. I’ve been traveling far and wide, both professionally and personally, for years. I’ve planned complex trips, and know how overwhelming it can get. So many places to see in so little time, and so sometimes tough to determine which sights to see, and the best route to take when sights to visit are scattered all over a city. Well, this app makes all of this easy, and fun! Great descriptions and photos of all sights, which ones are “must see sights”, ability to add your own sights (like your hotel). The app determines the best route and how long it will take you. There are tons of wonderful canned walks based on categories like “city overview,” “ museums,” “architecture,” etc. and the ability to create customized walks. If you love to travel, this tool will become an addiction. I tried the free version and then decided to upgrade to the full version because the route creation aspect is fantastic..Version: 4.5.7

City sightseeing made easyI used this APP in Italy. It loaded easily, had some handy articles on the place I was visiting (Lucca- wonderful!) and made seeing the sites so easy. Of an age to have wandered the world with a Lonely Planet Guide in my pack this APP replaced it brilliantly!.Version: 4.8.1

Thank you - FantasticSo I just got back from 3 days in Krakow . I used this great app every day . Before going I had a list of suggested places from friends and city Facebook sights and I added everything I wanted to see into the app map. I then made 3 custom walks for each of the days there. It’s was absolutely brilliant giving me time to explore at my own pace. I will be recommending far and wide !.Version: 4.7.6

Not working after updatingAfter updating to ver 4.5.9 the app stopped working. I sent a email to cust service within a couple of hours i received an answer that informed me that they where aware of the situation and a way to bypass the problem, and info on the next upgrade availability.Thank you Jim,great service. I have used this app since 2013 ,and it great to plan a trip and to use at destination and it does not need any cell signal to work only need gps to be on..Version: 4.7.6

I really like this app - something differentA really good app for travellers It is something a bit different and very pleasant When you go somewhere it has curated articles about that city and then for some places various different walking routes. I have used it for holidays (LA, Romania, Spain) where it is obviously nice - makes being a tourist that much nicer But I also use it on business trips: those free hours when you get into a city and want to do something it is really nice to have a guide like this Highly recommended.Version: 4.7.7

Great way to explore without using dataI used this app for exploring Lisbon, Dublin, Florence, Porto, and Seville. Having maps available without using data was wonderful! I had my phone on airplane mode and did not have a European SIM card. So, this app was terrific! I could click on any attraction, and it would guide me from my current location. I also used it to read about places and makes plans for what we wanted to see (based on proximity to other attractions and articles/descriptions provided in the app)..Version: 4.7.6

Five starPerfect app - easy to follow and all the main sights seen in a timely manner .Descriptions of attractions great too ..Version: 4.6.4

Excellent for a free app! AAAAI have used this app in at least 10 european cities now, it's great for learning a bit about the places I've been seeing. Like the ability to sort attractions by distance from you too. Recommended!.Version: 2.4

Saved the day for last minute site seeingMy husband and I just came back from 7 weeks traveling in Europe. As lots of the trip was business related and it was all booked last minute, we had planned free time in some cities but had not planned what to do in those, and didn’t know what there was to see in a lot of them. I found GPSmyCity while googling “must sees n Milan” and it saved the day. I didn’t have to print out a list or google the location of things. It came with all of that and suggested walking tracks. Sometimes we followed the trail exactly and sometimes, limited by time, we just used a portion. I loved being able to click into the map for a walking trail and have the GPS show me which way I was facing so that we would walk in the right direction. It had all the cities we were visiting and they weren’t always the largest city. Actually there were two smaller towns that it didn’t have a walking trail for, but there was a good travel article on each place which gave us an idea what to do. One of these was my favorite place on the entire trip, and it was the suggestion on the article that made it awesome (Tromsø in Northern Norway)..Version: 4.7.6

Vanetta walking tourFabulous tour… very easy to follow… recommended to other travelers today.Version: 4.8.1

A great travel resource!Whether you’re planning a trip, or on the go, I’ve always found GPSmyCity to be a great resource. There’s lots of free content, but for a small fee you can also get an offline version for those times that you can’t access WiFi. I like the fact that you can customise your own itinerary and use user-generated suggestions to plan the best city break!.Version: 4.7.3

Great tool if you like to walk and explore citiesWe used GPSmycity on a European vacation recently and it was great! It gave use walking tours overlaid with maps and pointed out interesting things along the way. It is super easy and it’s directional map makes finding your way super easy. I think the best is to download the maps of interest in your WiFi at home or in the hotel and you have everyday your fingertips - even in spotty reception. I am really looking forward to watching this App grow and add more cities and places!.Version: 4.8.1

Good program thanks for all the stuffHappy for the program is great.Version: 4.5.3

Must Download for any TravellerThis app makes it so much easier to see the things you want to see efficiently . When you are travelling you are usually on a time schedule and this truly allows you to maximize your trip by organizing the places you want to see. Easy to use and great customer support!.Version: 4.7.3

ExcellentJust what is needed when going on holiday, perfect.Version: 1.4

Handy little app!Helpful app to navigate an unfamiliar area. Interesting info on all points of interest, loved the ability to customise your own walking route and great preset city routes to take in the major tourist must sees ..Version: 4.7.6

Great App - RecommendUsed the app recently during a Mediterranean Cruise and it was perfect to use at each port, GPS map helps navigate from the port to all the key sites in each city - easy to use with quality information..Version: 4.8.1

GPSmyCityFound this to be a really helpful tool for do it yourself touring. Highly recommended!.Version: 4.8.1

Essential travel companionWe find this app takes the guesswork out of visiting a new location. By combining local’s travel tips with mapping features, articles and great visuals..Version: 4.7.2

Best App AvailableMy wife and I recently went on a trip to Paris and Rome. This app was the perfect tool we needed to navigate around the city in a timely manner. I was amazed at how easily you can navigate through the app, and the benefit provided for us was we were able to see more of each city than we ever would have been able to without it. I highly suggest using this app when visiting Europe or honestly any city that is available on the app..Version: 4.7.6

Great app - fantastic supportHave used this app on multiple trips - and is great. Even better still is the support, any problems and they help you straight way - always friendly..Version: 4.5.1

Love it!Have I phone x - bought upgrade and price well worth it - easy to use and able to independently explore cities with no guide books - has been great!.Version: 4.5.3

Great little app!Love this ! So simple to use, covers interesting sights & info - read about the walk BEFORE doing it - many sights have additional tours possible! Great value!.Version: 4.7.6

Great App for visiting and exploring citiesMy husband and I used this app in Scandinavia recently. We walked the suggested city walk in Helsinki and it led us to all types of wonderful sites. The map shows our position and the direction to the next site. In Taillin, Estonia, it helped us tract down a very old pharmacy. I always knew where I was and how to get back to the port where our ship was docked. The only problem might be if there are tall buildings the GPS, can get confused and you just have to keep walking till it picks up your location…it never took too long to do that. I would definitely recommend this app, it has so much information on it. Barbara.Version: 4.7.5

Good intro to citiesThis app is great for learning my way around cities and just exploring by foot, which I always prefer to organized tours, buses, etc. The few extra dollars to unlock the real-time maps and tours is well worth it too. The map function is very reliable; I use it over even google maps for figuring out directions. This is also good for getting an preview of cities I might want to visit and explore, to see how close the sights are to each other, where might be some convenient locations to get a hotel in, etc. I’m glad I found this app, highly recommend! I do wish the app wouldn’t reload itself after a little idle time tho, makes me have to re-navigate back into my tour every time. But that’s the only thing I would change..Version: 4.5.3

Pretty greatI spent hours trying to map out a plan for a certain city and wished that there was some sort of app that would let you select the sites you wished to see and then would organize it into the most logical order along with a map and directions for walking. Ask and ye shall receive. Someone pointed me to this app and it’s exactly what I needed. I love the custom walks and the flexibility within them to add in personal locations as starting points such as a hotel or train station and the also the ability to reorder the locations of the automated order could be improved. A++.Version: 4.6

ChinatownIt is a bit difficult for me the be objective, as I am a local who is very familiar with San Francisco Chinatown. That being said, I think this is a very good tour for a first-timer, and I especially liked the articles that accompany each stop. Even I learned a thing or two! As for the app, it seems easy to navigate, so there was no problem there. The only criticism I have is with the navigation prompts. Hearing “turn left in 40 meters” repeat four times with each stop is unnecessary and rather unnerving. Would it be possible to change the prompts to just two times? Thank you for listening and keep up the good work! Sharon.Version: 4.6.1

Very usefulI’ve been using GPSmyCity for over three years and I loved it! I use this app not only to plan my trips, but also to discover new places to explore in my own city. It’s very helpful and I highly recommend it..Version: 4.7.1

Helpful to Plan your tripI’ve been using this app to plan sites to see in various cities and find it very useful. The descriptions are accurate and gives a good overview of the places..Version: 4.7.6

Very helpfulI’ve used this app in several cities - some I visited for the first time, some I knew reasonably well. It showed me things I hadn’t seen before and perhaps would not have discovered on my own. Of course, to make the most of the app, you need to be prepared - choose your destination and download the map and tours while you have internet access. well worth the $26 it cost!.Version: 4.6.1

Useful and fantastic appI have been using GPSmyCity for years now in different cities and it is very useful when it’s your first time in a city or when you want to have a predetermined walk that won’t take you all day. Sites you visit are well described , gps function is cool, and it’s easy to use . I recommend that app..Version: 4.7.6

Looks very good but…Text article content is very good but there is a problem with the display of the articles - contrast. The text is presented in light gray on a white background providing low contrast making it difficult to read..Version: 4.7.9

So practical!I love how practical this app is, and how I get to access so many ways to see a city. Typical guide books are bulky or online sites can get so complicated. This is easy and has such unique experiences from people who have been. The maps are so useful, too! At first I thought it wasn’t worth paying for the app, but it has turned out to be a valuable resource and given me ideas and options in one place, rather than searching all over. It’s especially worth it when I think about how expensive walking tours can be. Highly recommended!.Version: 4.7.3

Excellent product, highly recommendWe downloaded the product the night before pulling into Valencia. The subscription fee is very reasonable for a year of service, as we compared the $18 subscription fee to guided tours for which we would pay otherwise. The map and location function worked perfectly, you download city maps to your phone before, so no need for internet connection while touring, the GPS function works well. Great descriptions of all the highlights, and easy programming to create your own city tour. We highly recommend this app..Version: 4.7.3

Perfect for my short SF stayI had a one night stay over in SF and this was exactly what I needed!.Version: 1.4

Save money and tour at your own pace...Great app with fantastic support. As a long term user I have used it in numerous cities and avoided costly tours that don’t let you do what you want to do. Offline data also reduces the burden. Just contacting the developer has always resolved any issues..Version: 4.5.1

GPS Mc cityI used this app recently in the Alsace region of France and Paris and London. It is a great app. They have sightseeing routes already in the app, plus you were able to make your own sightseeing route! They have a majority of all the sites you may want to see in a particular area, and information regarding each one of these places. The information on each of the sightseeing locations as well written and highly informative. It is definitely worth the money. I was pleasantly surprised with white the app had to offer!.Version: 4.7.3

GPSed my cities!I have been using GPS My City for several years during my travels. I always check there once I've picked my destinations. We have saved a lot of money designing own city tours. Definitely geared to our needs! If I had only one travel app, this would be it! I'm very happy to have seen continued improvement over the years. A big upgrade was being able to fully download for international travel In the days of little or $$$ fees. The apps are now awesome! Full versions definitely rock! Way to go!!.Version: 4.5.3

Fantastic AppThis easy to use app makes navigating around cities easy and fun. The information provided gives you plenty of background and the city tours seem to take in all the main attractions. The apps ability to navigate offline is a real bonus. Looking forward to getting back out there and using it again. Cheers. Annette..Version: 4.7.3

Best Travel App Available! My husband and I have been traveling for over a year and have been to 36 different countries. GPSmyCity has been our personal tour guide during a lot of our trip. It has been fantastic to tour different cities at our own pace and without the cost of hiring a tour guide. With the built-in walking maps with audio that can be downloaded and used without WiFi, it's easy to get around any city. I also love the different articles to find out about things to do before we arrive to a new destination. Can't imagine traveling without this app and have recommended it to many of my friends and people we meet along our travels..Version: 4.5.1

Very good appThis app is brilliant!! I downloaded it and was surprised to find that they had a walk available for where I was visiting (Funchal). When this was downloaded- it was available without wifi or data, so I was completely free to walk about. The directions were accurate. The suggested walk (Introduction to the city) was not straining and showed the most beautiful landmarks, all of which were accessed for free. There were also other attractions that you could go to and it had some information about. The texts were informative and detailed- just as good as a tour guide, if not better, since it allowed us to walk at our own pace and take breaks for lunch and drinks. I will definitely be using this again! 👍.Version: 4.7.3

An Excellent guide for city travelVery close to 5 star for me as an easy companion for all the cities I visited in Europe over the past 7 weeks. Terrific sightseeing walks with maps and notes that work off line. Excellent travel information about places to see, things to do. Very useful and heaps better than lugging around a heavy book travel guide. Thank you GPS mycity!.Version: 4.8.1

Kevin in BarcelonaGreat addition very explanatory and easy to use audio a real bonus.Version: 4.7.6

Great for planning out tripsWas able to use this app on a couple of recent trips and thoroughly enjoyed having it with me. Was able to download tours ahead of time, research destinations with in-depth travel articles, and learn more about the places I was visiting. While it doesn’t have step by step directions to destinations, it’s still easy enough to navigate to the next point of interest. Whether you like to make a meticulous plan or just sort of wander, this definitely can be of use..Version: 4.7.7

Indispensable!During my trip to Copenhagen, I used the paid version of GPS my city for getting around. It was easy to find attractions and to also save other places I wanted to visit. Probably the best feature, since it was made mainly for walking, is that there is a cone showing what direction you’re going. That way it was easy to tell if I started out the right way. The suggested walking tours were OK. Overall, it made my life easier and my trip pleasant!.Version: 4.5.3

Mark GeorgeA really useful app that made moving around Madrid easy and time efficient..Version: 4.7.6

An amazing guide to your favourite cities!!I have used this guide app to take my wife and I on historic walking trips all over the world! From Lyon to Venice to Shanghai - I absolutely love the detailed descriptions of the different historical sites you can check out along the way and my wife loves the shopping trips - it really is a welcome companion on our trips!.Version: 4.7.6

Very Useful AppI purchased GPSmyCity for one year for use when visiting cities whilst on a cruise holiday. I’ve found it really helpful in exploring cities in live time and also even where there isn’t a downloadable map I’ve always found interesting tips and information on places to visit - saves paying for a walking tour! Definitely recommend..Version: 4.5.3
