Notes! - Learn To Read Music for Positive User Reviews

The perfect note memory appDoes exactly what it was designed to do. I use this app dozens of times everyday. If your serious about memorizing the notes on both staffs then don’t hesitate to get this!.Version: 3.7

Learn to read musicIts SIMPLE to use and it WORKS! Nuf said! Buy it!.Version: 1.7

Nice app for beginner musiciansA simple flash-card app to allow beginners to music to memorise the placement of notes. Allows you to learn across three variations of notes. No glitches..Version: 1.5

How to readIt is very helpful I really enjoy it to read my piano notes.Version: 3.7

Perfect for beginnersEasy to use!.Version: 1.6

Easy to useLearnt very quickly with no previous ability to read music..Version: 1.8

Lovely little app.Excellent little, very helpful!.Version: 1.1

Great appLove it.Version: 3.0

Good but needs a tweakSince this app is for beginners it would be nice if there was a write up of why the notes are named the way they are, why is there only seven notes, why does the scale start with C, what is a 3rd, a forth, a fifth? The screen should be able to go sideways and have a longer keyboard, you should be able to play it, you should be able to pick a few songs to play like Canon, or Moonlight Sonata, or Jesus Bleibet Meine Freude or even Chopsticks. As it is now The App is simply a random note and you chose what that note is with a few options. Very simple structure. I've seen way better with more options for the same price..Version: 1.8

Quite goodNot a bad app but very simple and will need another one to learn the notes with ledger lines..Version: 1.5

Great easy app to learnI really like this app. I am learning to sight read music for choir it is helping a lot and fast!.Version: 1.1

Awesome! This app is really useful to learn notes on the piano and the staff..Version: 2.0.5

My Students Love It!Having taught piano for more than 35 years I have to say that 5 minutes out of each lesson with this game has brought more improvement with note reading than those tired old cardboard flash cards! The sound of each note has improved their ear training and having it right on my phone couldn't be more convenient. What a wonderful tool for a small price! I have both beg. & int. versions. Thank you!!.Version: 3.0

Perfect Solution for Learning to Sight-Read MusicAn elegantly simple solution for learning to sight-read music. It's a straight forward approach. It's a bit like automated flash cards, see the note and press the correct piano key and you're rewarded with the note being played and a new note to try. I am an absolute novice and I've wanted to acquire at least basic music sight-reading skills prior to taking keyboard lessons. After just two twenty minute sessions, I could see that I was making some progress and began to automatically select the correct piano key for a few notes without having to even think about it. The program is suitable for children or adults - anyone that is interested in learning the basics of reading sheet music. Version 1.1 makes the program more useful to the student making progress. After working with the program a dozen times over two weeks, I found I was beginning to get reasonably good at knowing the notes, but I was not automatically associating them with the correct keys on the piano. With the version 1.1 update, I can now practice more efficiently with the app. It's a useful improvement and comes at just the right time for me as someone just learning the basics of sight-reading music..Version: 1.1

Great app!Instead of playing games I use this app to learn my notes on the go! I make a game of it! Very effective and motivating! Thanks for this app!! Love it!❤️.Version: 3.7

Love it ... Perfect for the piano noviceIt's a great little app!.Version: 1.8

Very goodIt's very good. Simple and does what it says on the tin. Only little niggle is having to sit through the demo every time i start it up. Bit annoying!!!.Version: 3.0

PerfectThis little app is perfect for anyone who plays an instrument but struggles with note name recognition (like me). It's pleasant, cheerful, non competitive and focused on one thing: note name recognition. In a couple hours I have greatly improved my reliability and speed of note name recognition in the bass clef.Version: 3.0

GreatGreat learning tool..Version: 2.0.5

Simple, easyIf you are looking for a basic app to teach the notes on treble and bass clefs, this is it. After only 2mins a day for three days I have improved significantly and feel confident I will have both mastered in a few weeks - so much faster for me than sitting at the piano and wading through sheet music. Thanks! Great, simple App!.Version: 1.9.1

Learning NotesHelps me learn the piano and helps me read music notes.Version: 3.7

Great AppI fire this app up whenever I'm waiting in line or have a few minutes. It has really helped me learn to read music. Kind of wish it were more of a game with levels thing- that it would speed up and you got points for number you get right. But for what it is, it's great!.Version: 1.7

Simple Cmaj scale app with midi supportNice app which covers the Cmaj scale (no # or b). The midi interface works well with external piano. The scale range can be modified so it can work with small keyboards like the iON Piano Apprentice..Version: 3.0

GoodGood simple app. Works for the purpose. I wish there was an option when letters pop up next to the key when correct answer is selected. For people who are more visual it helps to memorize the names when you actually see them on the staff as opposed to just at the bottom of the screen..Version: 3.0

Love this appIt is a great learning tool.Version: 1.2

Love it!Just as good for adults learning music for the first time..Version: 1.5

MattPerfect.Version: 3.7

Great for children!Having looked at other notation apps, I found this one to be the most user friendly for children. My daughter (who is 6) is learning to play the piano and needs to brush up on sight reading. This is excellent!.Version: 3.0

PianoExcellent APP very helpful..Version: 1.7

BriliantJust what I was looking for.Version: 1.1

This is excellent learning toolThis app is worth buying it is definitely an excellent learning tool for the up and coming musician who wants to know music theory..Version: 3.7

Nice app for a noviceA good starter app for anyone wanting to learn to read music very basic but effective for a complete novice ! Would be nice if it worked more like a game and awarded points for speed and accuracy ..Version: 1.5

Perfect app to learn notesIf you are trying to learn notes by sight, this is the perfect app. I love it! It shows you a note on a staff, and you touch the key on the keyboard. I am not an expert pianist, but I enjoy playing for my own entertainment. I sometimes have trouble reading the notes on the bass clef--I have to do the Great Big Dog Fights Animals, All Cows Eat Grass method. I used this app to refresh my memory, and I played better almost instantly--simply because I new the notes by sight. I highly recommend this app..Version: 1.8

Love itI am 16 and just wanted something to help me learn the notes easily. It's been just under a month and this has helped me learn very quickly notes for treble and bass. Highly recommended for beginners.Version: 3.0

Just what my kids needed - and love it.Lovely.Version: 1.1

PerfectThis app was exactly what I was looking for to help my kids learn the notes..Version: 3.7

Good appLove the app. Wish only two things were different. 1. You can only do notes in treble OR bass clef, not randomly switching between both. Sometimes I want to do just a few notes in each with my daughter, but I can't switch between clefts in this app. 2. Wish there was also a flash card option, where a note appears on a card and they can choose it that way as well. This is my 3rd note app and for what I have been looking for, it's the best one. Just wish a few things could be added..Version: 3.0

EeeerttUtdudtiditstidti.Version: 3.7

A great tool!Have forgotten the notes since high school and this has helped me relearn them quickly and easily.Version: 1.5

Simple yet effectiveYou can't beat this simple app for its straightforward approach. It does what it sets out to do, namely drill the visual recognition of notes on the treble and bass staffs. There is a wealth of options for future features but for 99c, you can't beat the value..Version: 1.0

I'm getting better everyday !!!Good way to learn.Version: 1.8

PianoGreat app ! Can you track your score?.Version: 1.7

Great! This app is perfect for starting out, it didnt take me long to memorise the notes..Version: 1.8

PerfectThis app is just pure perfection. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. It’s simple and it works!.Version: 3.7

Five star game 🏆I give this a five star rating because I did not have to pay for the game even though I did not download it before 😄.I.Version: 3.7

ReviewI think its an awesome app for everyone to learn how to to read notes ; so just by playing the game you learn and the more and more you play it you get better and then when it comes to reading the notes on the piano it'll be easy all because of one app :) ilooveeit!.Version: 1.7

Awesome!!!Great game!🤩🤩👍🏽love it so much😄.Version: 3.7

Love some competitionThe look of this app is so nice and clean and I like what is there. What would be great and make it more fun is if it was more like a game, where you could compete against yourself to try and better your score. Perhaps give a traditional school score like "A" or "B" or "C" depending on the ratio of right and wrong answers. I think my daughter liked it but would maybe be more motivated to do it day after day if there was some way for her to evaluate her progress. In its current format, she is inclined to guess until she finds the right note..Version: 1.1

Good for freeDecent for anyone looking to learn on the go..Version: 1.8

Great little piano app!!I wasn't sure about which app would be best for my son to practice his note recognition on. I made what I thought was the best choice. It turned out to be wonderful. I love how you can block out the notes that you don't want to practice and add them as he progresses. As well as the bottom answers being in un-labelled notes, labelled noted and just letters. This will help him a ton..Version: 3.0

Love it!As an adult returning to the piano, I am struggling with reading the staff. This simple app is bringing back those long ago memories and reinforcing previously learnt lessons. The portability given using it on my iPad, makes it convenient to practice anywhere I am. Simple and effective - excellent..Version: 1.7

Wonderful Way To Learn To Read Notes!“Notes! – Learn To Read Music” is a wonderful way for children to learn to read notes on the treble and bass clefs because: - it’s fun; - it’s easy to use; (Press a labeled key to name a note. Press the double arrows to change from treble to bass clef.) - it’s both visual and auditory; - its error message is subtle; - it celebrates (and thereby reinforces) correct answers. A bonus feature of “Notes!” is that it also helps children begin to learn the names of the white keys on the piano..Version: 1.0

Great AppThis is a great little app, as a learner at 44yrs I found this app is very easy to use and very straight forward does exactly what it says. If you want to learn to read music this is the one to get, Great Job!.Version: 3.0

Needs a record trackerThis is a good app, but it really needs to track progress in some way. I have my kids use it but, I don't sit with them all the time so I don't always know how well they're actually doing. This would help hold the user accountable to getting the notes right rather than just guessing..Version: 3.0

Helps me a lotI is helping me a lot! I wasn't able to tell which key to press but that was a lot of help! It would be worth it even if it was 100 dollars! I have bean interested in music for a while, but now I can't go to lessons 😢 it will be a while till I go!.Version: 3.0

Great way to quickly learn the notes!Good app to help you learn the notes quickly.Version: 1.5

CvedtHelpful..Version: 1.9.1

Music Theory GameIT'S AWESOME! Best music theory app i've ever seen! i don't think many music theory games r as cool as this 1. (don't get me wrong, it is gr8!) Five-star. From the gr8 and wonderful, Sophia da FOX!!.Version: 1.6

Straightforward, effective app.Well, it's not super exciting, but it's straight to the point. I've put in two 20 minute sessions so far, and I'm definitely getting faster and committing the notes and keyboard positions memorized. For the iPad version it should be a horizontal orientation and give you two octaves, to make for a deeper memory connection with whe the corresponding keyboard keys. Otherwise, it comes as advertised, and is the best tool I've found so far for memorizing notes..Version: 1.1

Very helpfulAs an adult learning to play piano, I find this app useful during idle moments, such as while waiting. Its clear visuals make understanding and using the app simple. The fact that it functions in landscape as well as portrait mode is particularly gratifying; that allows me to hear each note as it would actually sound on a piano (e.g., striking the middle C produces a lower sound than striking the C an octave above), so there's valuable ear training going on at the same time. Learning from this app to recognize the individual notes on the treble and bass clefs is a huge aid for when I sit down at the piano to learn a new piece of music..Version: 3.6

Just what I was hoping for! With a million apps out there that help you waste your time, this is anything but... What an excellent way to learn /refresh your music reading skills. Just what I was looking for. Excellent little app that delivers big results!!!.Version: 3.0

Really good!Worth every penny.Version: 1.7

Simple and effectiveThis is a wonderfully simple app that really does the job. I am an adult music student and in the short time I have been using the app I have found a big improvement in my music reading skills. Thanks! Nice price too!.Version: 1.7

When you are wrong, the app will keep going back to reinforce correctionThis is helpful to me. Other apps just randomly move on. ‘’It takes 15 times to make something a habit”.Version: 3.7

Great app!!Simple and easy to learn both clef!!!.Version: 1.8

Great app for beginnersThis app does just what it says it does. Works well on iPad 2. Quick to load. If they added MIDI to it, I would pay extra as an in-app purchase. Thanks..Version: 2.0.5

Great!I bought this app so my 5 year old could learn his notes...I'm having fun with it too! I like that you can hear the notes when you get them right! Very simple, but exactly what I was looking for..Version: 1.7

Learn notesThis is the best application I have seen for learning music. Fantastic, definitely 5 star.Version: 1.5

As advertised - perfectConcise, fast and simple app...see a note on staff and select the corresponding note on keyboard below. Bass and treble clef. Would like to see a "learning tool" wherein u actually learn acronyms etc to help u memorize the notes in each clef..Version: 1.0

RecommendedGreat app.Version: 1.5

Convenient appA very convenient app, you can practice just any where and time, love it.Version: 3.7

WONDERFULI could play simple songs just by listening to the tune but found it difficult to read notes. This is an amazing app for me..Version: 1.8

Very goodVery good could be cheaper.Version: 3.0

GreatVery simple but effective. Perfect for the job..Version: 1.1

GoodUseful for all age.Version: 3.0

To the point app. This app has no flashy graphics, I'd call it utilitarian. It does exactly what you want it to do, helps you to learn the notes in an un-fussy, no messing about, straight forward way..Version: 3.0

Learn Notes!Very handy little app.Version: 2.0.5

Easy to useDoes what it says..Version: 1.5

Utile :)Bien utile pour un débutant...faite vos gammes ;).Version: 1.8

Great flashcard type learning toolIt lets you practice your memory against a labeled and unlabeled keyboard. Wyou can ban notes you've memorized or aren't ready for. The inly thing I would add is a config to disable animations, but it's still faster than paging through flashcards and way more fun and interactive!.Version: 3.7

Simple. Clean. GoodI like this app a lot. The choice of note names, piano keys, or both is helpful to target the level of difficulty or focus you are going for. I like the bouncy and uncluttered interface, makes it easy and painless to use whenever you are waiting around for something during the day. I would pay another 99c for a version with every key or at least the accidentals!.Version: 1.1

Just what I needCould maybe add a feature to practice scales that would be cool.Version: 1.1

Love itExcellent app that helps with memory of learning to read music.Version: 1.6

Very simple but worked for meNeeded a simple way to learn the notes quickly with constant repetition. It worked!.Version: 1.7

UsefulI am an adult who recently started taking piano lessons. I am using this app to help me learn to read music and I feel that it is helping me make progress. I would love to see it come with some statistics so I could monitor my progress or have an option to quiz treble clef and bass clef at the same time, but the lack of these things doesn't diminish it's value..Version: 1.7

Sight reading.Thank you I always wanted to read music, now with your help I'm getting there..Version: 1.8

Great appGreat app- really helping my 7 year old learn to read music in a fun way..Version: 1.7

Excellent appIs is absolutely great, both my daughter and I were struggling with memory of notes and where they were on the piano itself, have learnt so much in 10 mins. Get this app..Version: 1.7

Piano appGreat beginner app fun creating music..Version: 1.7

Perfect!!!!Don't change a thing! Better than any flash cards could provide. If you are learning music you need this app. My only suggestion is to add major and minor chords. And also to provide to read the awesome black keys... Also different key signatures would be helpful..Version: 1.7

PerfectThis is just the app I needed glad you can find great Apps like this for educational purposes. Thanks!!!!!!!!.Version: 1.6

Great appSimple to use and has helped me greatly..Version: 1.5

Simple and effectiveMakes lessons more interesting.Version: 3.6

Great app for learners of grand staffI think this is great and is really helping my kiddo with her piano. I would suggest adding staged learning starting around middle c and then expanding to all of grand staff. The built in learning stages are great though..Version: 1.5

Great, couple of touches would be nice..Generally this is an excellent little app, and does exactly as the advert describes. Somewhat irritating though, it takes several seconds for the next note to be selected, so practice can never be fast, it would be good to see that made configurable. There is also a tiny bug: pressing the correct note very soon again after getting it right will actually cause the next note to be played, and 'won'. Very good for practice, and worth the money..Version: 1.5

TutorialSimple but brilliant. Reinforces learning and enjoyable. I will use it a lot, learning to read music has been a nightmare for me, up until now. So glad I found it..Version: 1.7

Great toolGreat piece of software highly recommended thanks.Version: 1.1

Perfect for an old manJust what I needed to learn the basics..Version: 3.7

Exactly what I neededThis app is a great learning tool. I purchased it to help me practice learning the notes on the piano and staff. It's been 30 years since I last read music. In no time at all, using this app, I am remembering to the point of not having to think about it anymore. Love the easy steps it provides to making your learning successful. Am going to use it with my grandchildren as well!.Version: 2.0.5

Excellent app for beginnersThis blue app is excellent for beginners. It has great explanations on how to use. It is easy to use. It allows for endless practice and doesn’t time out which is nice. Very effective! Since there is a sister app that is outlined in red - this blue one should be labeled “beginner” and the red one “advanced” to help us know which one to get..Version: 3.7

Flash Cards WorkThis app really helps you to practice your sight reading skills. You obviously need to know the basics as this app is not designed to teach you how to read from the ground up, it is a drilling tool..Version: 1.5

Tweek requestGreat app for my 7 year old. Hey, if the developer is reading, it would be great if you could remove the note names under the keyboard. My daughter relies on the letter rather than learning the keyboard note..Version: 1.8

Great AppThank you!.Version: 1.5

Music TeacherI'm a middle school music teacher and have been using this in my classroom attached to my projector. The kids love it! I wish it could have a game component to it where you could "level up" or have some statistic tracking for correct/incorrect answers, this would make the kids even more competitive. I also would love to see alto clef integration in the next version. Is this possible? Thank you!.Version: 1.7

UsefulBut why are the Bs Bbs?.Version: 2.0.5

ExcellentThis app is really helping me to learn my notes and to sight read faster. Being new to piano lessons this is very helpful to me at the moment. I use the app every day!.Version: 3.0

Great little appI'm just learning to read music and think that the best way is just by rote and repetition. This app is simple, yet exactly what you need. That's all you need to know. Now a boring train journey turns into a great learning time, and I'm ready to try out my site reading on the piano when I get home :).Version: 1.7

Good little appHelps me with sight reading.Version: 1.1

GoodDoes the job. Way better then reading a magazine when your "reading a magazine".Version: 1.1

Great appI love that I can customize which notes to review..Version: 3.7

GoodIt's a good app for learning to read music. Coming from no reading skill , I can do a few hundred with no mistakes. To get a better rating it could use a few simple features. Speed of note change Increase the range a little more.Version: 1.7

I love itDoes what it says on the tin and has made a world of difference for me who really struggles to read music.Version: 1.8

Great Beginner App - Needs Small Enhancements1st: Well worth the $. It's teaching me to know & relate note-names, staff positions, & keyboard keys; that's what I bought it for. Needs timer & hit/miss counter, to compute a score based on speed & accuracy, so I have a way to track progress, and a target for improvement. Would be cool if it had a way to work the whole Grand Staff (bass & treble) at once. Also, small bug in switching from portrait to landscape - I have to rotate it twice before the app catches on. Despite these quibbles, Highly Recommended..Version: 3.0

Good for beginnersI'm a piano teacher and this app is good for helping beginners with note recognition. In the settings you can indicate which notes you want to be tested on. It only uses white key notes which is perfect for those who are new to learning. My only comment to the app developer is that it would be even better if in the bass clef the C was above the B on the piano as this can be confusing for beginners and young learners..Version: 3.0

Simple, perfectJust what I was looking for. The perfect way to practice..Version: 1.7

Simply brilliant!Just that -brilliant and simple. Would that more apps followed this example..Version: 1.1

FantasticIt's hard to teach an old dog new tricks... I was having a hard time being an adult learner learning notes, this app is simple, fun, and I'm actually learning!.Version: 1.7

Does the jobSimple concept. Works exactly as it is designed..Version: 1.1

Great app for beginners like me!Great!.Version: 1.8

I would recommend this applicationThis app taught me how to read notes in 3 days and it also teaches you the keys. Just 15 20 minutes a day. Just keep with it..Version: 3.7

Awesome appLove this app. Makes the learning process less intimating..Version: 1.7

Good at what it does, but it could do moreI found this useful for getting me to recognize notes on a staff more quickly. I was a bit disappointed to find that, having completed the treble staff and bass staff, I found no grand staff to move on to. That would have been a nice way to further my skills. Perhaps in the next version?.Version: 3.6
