✓ DisappointingGreat mag. got a paper subscription but thought i'd get the app to get a few back issues. had trouble buying from the app. ended up ordering from the website but then, although I could see the issues on my phone, couldn't download to read them. restarted phone, deleted app, reinstalled it and then it worked. BUT, major flaw, the text isn't legible unless zooming right in (and even then it isn't sharp). waste of effort and money..Version: 4.1.7

✓ Hmmm...If you're a b/w photographer and don't know this magazine... SHAME ON YOU. If you do know this magazine, you know how good it is. This app is the magazine, on your iThing. On paper, it's a great mag. On an iPhone (which I use), not so great - difficult to read, slow to turn pages. On an iPad (which I don't have), it would at least be visible, can't speak for the speed. 5/5 for the content, 1/5 for the execution (mostly NOT BWs fault, I will admit - its a limitation of the platform I use). Maybe there's a possibility that the content could be formatted differently for iThing use? Until something changes, I won't be using it again..Version: 3.1.2

✓ Great to have access but...Really enjoy quick, easy and inexpensive access to this excellent magazine. However, the app version is just a PDF of the magazine with a few internal hyperlinks. Most external hyperlinks aren't active but, more to the point, no effort has been made to customize the magazine to the tablet. Particularly annoying in this regard is the fact that photos spread across two pages can't be seen as a whole - a break appearing between the pages which splits the photo in two. This is quite unfortunate when the pictures are the main attraction of the mag. It would also be nice to be able to read articles in a format better geared to the iPad, as most newspaper apps allow..Version: 4.1
✓ So-so appI'm glad it was only $2.99. The overall concept is fine; it feels like a magazine. The problem I have is the font...it's fuzzy when you make the page bigger. There's no way I'm going to read an article with small, fuzzy font. Also, and this is somewhat minor, but you can't do anything while an issue is downloading, it doesn't do it I the background, so you have to sit. And wait for a couple minutes while your issue downloads...if you try to do anything else the download is suspended. Fix the fuzzy font problem and I will consider a subscription..Version: 3.1.2

✓ Yup. It crashes.Works fine occasioally, then displays a black screen when you try to access a magazine. After the latest iOS update, it's all just black screens now. ✓ Worst interface I've ever seenI spend more time fighting the interface than reading. Scrolling from page to page works fine, for example, unless of course you zoom in to read something. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The home page is utterly useless; it doesn't even have orientation control! Half the time trying to select a magazine to read fails; you get whatever you had last time. Your "library" interface is so much trouble to find something you already have downloaded it's almost not worth it. Constant "downloading" progress bars abound, and of course, trying to find a page you were reading last time is worse than finding one in an actual magazine. ✓ Nice magazine... Expensive subscriptionThe content of the magazine is great. The app is average. Download time of each issue is heavy even on a fast connection; large file for each issue. Navigation is fine but not the best comparing to other magazines. And the subscription is just expensive for an online virtual magazine that will quickly fill your iPad memory.
