TalkingTime - talking clock for Positive User Reviews

Works GreatInitially thought it wasn’t working correctly. Developer reached out to me ASAP to fix—it was my error. App works great. I wish there was a way to adjust the volume independent of my phone’s volume but overall it does the job..Version: 4.4.1

Great appGreat app- especially for adhd and externalizing time. You do need to have the ringer on for it to work so I have forgotten to turn it on before but once I do I always appreciate it. I actualled shared this app on both the additude support group and then untapped brilliance support group. Thanks..Version: 3.1

Works wellWorks welll.Version: 5.1

I really like this appThis app is great.Version: 4.9.2

My favorite clock appI like talking time for it simplicity. I also like that it announces the time periodically when I wanted it to. If you are a blind iPhone user, you will find this app very useful! Thank you for developing talking time! I gave four stars because I believe an improvement can always be made somewhere such as the improvement to the voices that were just made in this release..Version: 3.0

Awesome app for those with ADHDYou are “time blind,” this is the app for you. Additionally, you can slow the speed to make sure you hear the time statement rather than ignore it. The custom messages with the timme are fabulous. Once in a while, Apple messes things up with an update, but it is quickly fixed by the developer. Thanks, Fortuisoft.Version: 6.2.1

I grew up with antiques clocks that would strike the hour.Talking time allows me to bring back the experience of having a striking clock in my pocket. It can be set to speak on the hour, half hour or quarter hour or a ounce the time with many different voices . Brings back memory of home long ago.. also when people near by hear it and ask about it starts a conversation..Version: 6.1.3

Extremely UsefulI have ADHD and use this app for time awareness. The only thing I could ask for would be an integrated alarm (check out their AWESOME Talking Alarm app) and the ability to set custom intervals, for instance, for those trips into the store for “five minutes” and it takes 15! I would love to be able to put it in “squirrel mode” haha (please steal that guys) and in my ear pod hear the time every 5 minutes to be aware of the difference between what amount of time I thought my stop would take (with family waiting in the car mind you!) versus what amount of time it is actually taking—and of course being able to reduce this time warp squirrel effect! Overall I love this app. Thanks guys..Version: 3.1

VoicesWould be cool to record your own voice, your girl friends sexy voice ...... I would seriously pay more for the APP.Version: 4.4.1

Does EXACTLY what you want“It’s Nine o’clock” said my phone just now. I have it starting at 7,730,800,830,900. It’s simple, it works. It’s worth it. REQUEST: can I get it to announce the x:15 intervals too please? Gets me out of bed in the morning.... please please please ;).Version: 3.0

I wish I had found a tool like this sooner in my lifeI have struggled my whole life with staying on task and being conscious of time. It is not that I am lazy or disorganized; it’s more that I tend to disappear into whatever I am doing, whether that is intricate policy research or peeling potatoes. Having a friendly voice remind me at regular intervals that time is passing hasn’t been annoying, as I originally feared. It has been a godsend. My family and work colleagues have both noticed the difference and are cheering me on; some have even purchased TalkingTime for themselves..Version: 5.1

Great.I was looking for an app like this. I love that I can add messages to read when announcing the time..Version: 4.8.1

Great app that works without draining your batteryI am a person who is blind. I tried out Talking Time because of reading about it on an email list. Some things were not working quite right with VoiceOver. I wrote the developer, and within 24 hours, he had the first build with some improvements. Now, about a week later, it is greatly improved, and with iOS 15.1 will be my go to app for regular time announcements. Great app with a responsive developer. You do not find that very often. Thank you Mark..Version: 4.9

Very accessibleThank you to the author. This app is very accessible when used with voice over. Nice attention to the details. Update: again thanks to the developer for the quick attention to the voiceover notification box issue caused by iOS..Version: 4.6

Simple and useful!Very basic app that is simple to set up and use. I’ve set time notifications to help keep me on track with morning and night time routines. It has been great, and I’ve come to appreciate it a lot more than I expected. When I remember to set it up beforehand, it’s also helpful to keep me focused when I’m in a rush to get ready. I only wish it was possible to set recurring notification schedules for each day of the week.Version: 6.1.3

Great little helper.Letting a day pass by happened frequently for me because I was so out of touch with the passage of time. This app helps quite a bit to at least be aware of the time, but doesn’t necessarily mean I’m going to do anything about it, but that is my fault not the app..Version: 4.9.2

Best Time Voice I’ve foundThere are many voices to choose from. When a time is announced, this app finds a way to fade out the current music, make the time announcement, and then return to the original stream without jarring your ears. No complicated menu to determine how often time is announced; the user chooses up to 64 times which are on a matrix waiting to be chosen or cleared..Version: 4.9.2

Perfect, just what I was looking forWell designed. Gives you the ability to choose which hour you get the time alert. Very pleased..Version: 4.9.2

Love this appI get so focussed on programming work that I can easily lose track of time, so having this app running nearby to make the awareness of “time is passing around you!” un-ignorable is essential for me. Probably has saved me from running after the last bus home from work many times..Version: 4.9.2

Excellent, best ever!Nothing stops this little app from telling you the time. It’s great. Plus you can add custom reminders that need attention at specific times. Thanks for staying on top of iOS updates. Makes my iPhone better!.Version: 6.1.3

Great appThe developer is very responsive to user a Feedback and has made the app VoiceOver accessible which is great for the blind community..Version: 4.9.2

I love this appThe only one that keeps me on track. Very good for adhd. Simple but good and always reliable..Version: 6.0

Good app. Straight to the pointJust a small remark . The voices offered are not clear enough. Even when the volume is high. But good app.Version: 6.1.3

Great organization toolI set up this app once in the morning to have a reminder to get up from my desk and take a break at regular intervals. There are other ways to accomplish the same goal but I like the set-it-and -forget-it feature of this app..Version: 4.4.1

LOVE the customization!I just discovered the ability to customize each announcement’s phrase. I set my hours and half hours to include motivational phrases, and gentle reminders to stay on task. This app is very plain but it helps tremendously with keeping me on task. And now encourages me with affirmations and challenges throughout the day..Version: 4.8.1

Love this TalkingTimeI have never been good at reading a clock now I don’t have to .. my phone just tells me what time it is .thank you for making such a great app .. I recommend it to anyone it’s so easy to use.Version: 4.9.3

Nicest app I’ve found for verbal time remindersI researched apps for my sister who is visually impaired. She owns an iPhone and after a recent system update, she no longer received hourly time announcements as she had been. She wanted to find an app that would announce the time every hour, with no intervention from her (i.e., asking Siri for the time). This app works better for her than any I found. It still has hiccups, so it’s not as good as what she used to have, but it’s better than anything I found..Version: 6.1.3

This is exactly what I wanted!I have a tendency to let days get away, especially on the weekend. It will be 10 am and ill have some plans to get done. In a blink, it will be 7 pm. This app helps a lot to remind me to get on with it. I would happily pay for an upgrade so i can play with different tones, etc. I recommend this app!.Version: 2.4

Easy to set upThis app works beautifully. The initial setup can be a tiny bit challenging, but they’ve provided very easy-to-understand instructions to get you going quickly. Love this app..Version: 4.9.3

Time Blindness Life SaverI cannot tell you how much this app helps me with my time blindness and productivity levels. I don’t think I can do without it now, I used to lose track of hours and was really bad at transitioning from one task to another, but having the time ready to me every fifteen minutes makes it easier for me to check in with myself and make conscious decisions about how to structure my time spending. Thank you for developing this app, it’s saving my life. Bless you!.Version: 4.9.2

Extremely Helpful for ADHDThis app has saved me many times by announcing the time. I love how I can choose different voices because it's good to change them up every now and then, so that your brain doesn't get used to hearing the same thing and ignore it. I especially love being able to customize the announcements with text. I created a happy morning wake-up announcement, a meditation reminder that I have do not disturb scheduled to go on for 30 minutes at that time in my iphone settings, "time for lunch, put away your work" and at 3 pm "it's 3 PM do you need water?" This helps me stay on course and take better care of myself. Really helpful for people who work remotely..Version: 4.9.3

Excellent app!Does exactly what I need it do. Plus, customer support was great when I was not seeing the obvious set-up instructions. Very easy to use once I got my head back on my shoulders. Would buy again!.Version: 4.9.3

Keeps me on trackI love this app because it’s easy to get lost in projects and forget what time it is. The audio reminders keep me connected to the clock so I can make regular decisions about productivity. I also like that I can set it to announce things like: “the time is 2:45; it's time to pick the kids up from school" or "the time is 9:30; it's time to take your insulin" or "the time is 5 o'clock; it's time to start making supper." It all really helps me to stay on track. Thanks so much for this talking time app!.Version: 6.1.3

Great App. Very useful. You will not be disappointed.I’ve had an app like this for several years. After I recently upgraded to a new iPhone 12 Pro my old app was unavailable. I decided to give this one a try. To my surprise, this one works much better than my old one. After I downloaded the app I noticed that I was not getting voice announcements. All I would get is a ding sound at the times I selected for it to function. I reached out to the developers and got a quick response to my problem. I must say , I did not expect to hear from anyone to resolve my issue. Certainly not as fast as they responded. Anyway, I received an email from Mark, one of the developers who gave me a list of options to try to correct the issue. Nothing from the list worked. To make a long story short, Mark and I emailed each other back and forth until the issue was resolved. All in one day. Amazing. Once the issue was resolved, the app performs as described with no issue. I have enjoyed this app 100%. I do not wear a watch so this app is very useful for me during the day. Set up is very easy. It has options that you can pick and choose. Schedule your announcements, use voice or tone announce, choose the person who announces the time and has great technical support. Best app of 2021. Shout out to Mark who cared enough to make an old man happy. I wish there were more people in the world like you..Version: 4.4

This App is Awesome!I love this app. As a busy working mom of a toddler and infant, this app makes my morning routine run smoothly. Please add an option to announce the time every 15 minutes. I use the feature to hear dings at 15 min and 45 min past the hour; however, I would love to have the time announcements at shorter intervals. I would give this app 5 stars if it featured time announcements every 15 minutes..Version: 2.4

Love this appDoes exactly what I needed it to do. Easy to use, let’s you select the times you want it to tell you. Just be prepared to be startled when it suddenly speaks the time and you’re concentrating on something else..Version: 3.1

Keeps me going on timeLove the flexibility and quarterly time announcements. Also a great polite way to remind others of the time passing. Would recommend!.Version: 4.9.3

Awesome and seamlessIt’s great. Does what it’s supposed to do. Definitely keeps me more aware of time since I’m always so busy. One thing though, “midnight thirty” or “twelve noon” sound silly. Edit: I still live by this app. I’m very busy and this app is like having someone tell me what to do. I just set it up the night before..Version: 6.1.3

Works Great!Better than my watch for managing my Executive Function Disorder. I work on my own from home and this app is a lifesaver. The day can just slip away if I’m not careful and this keeps me on track because it makes my awareness of time external and consistent. If you have ADHD or another EFD, then this app is definitely worth a try..Version: 4.4.1

I love this appIt may not seem like this is an app you need, but having a constant way to be aware of time is valuable if you are really busy or you have adhd and suffer from time blindness. I have referred this app to many people to help with just that application. I recommend this app to anyone that needs a way to track time or be aware of its passing..Version: 6.1.3

This is the best app I have ever used in order to keep up with time.I love this app. I never write app reviews but this one is worth giving a shout out. It’s a little buggy but it is consistent and the fact that she can put personal messages when the time is announced is a great addition.Version: 5.1

Great for Adult ADHD & Time ManagementI rely on this app to help me keep track of time when I get so hyper-focused on something that I forget to look at a clock even if it’s right next to me! I struggle with time management but having this app has helped me learn my habits over time, like how long it actually takes me to get ready vs. how long I’d think it would/should take..Version: 5.1

It helps to keep me on trackI am a totally blind person. For years, I relied on the Chime app to tell me the time on the hour and half hour. That app stopped working when I updated to iOS 15. I searched for a replacement and tried many. They all had some kind of quark that I did not want to live with. When I found Talking Time, I really liked it right away. I have been using it ever since. The only issue that I noticed is that the speech volume is not controlled by the ringer volume on my device (iPhone SE 3rd gen). The speech volume is controlled by the general volume setting of the phone. I normally would keep my phone volume pretty low. But since figuring this issue out, I now keep the volume higher, so I can hear the time announcements. For anyone out there missing the old Chime app, this is a great replacement. I hope that the developer keeps supporting it..Version: 5.0

Great app & prompt response for developers if you need helpApp works great, great program, keeps me alert and oriented to time, great customer service provided by developers through prompt response. Developer help me tune the volume of the app to my preference. I use app regularly and the app has a tab to easily turn the app on/off. It’s very helpful. The voices are ok and do the job. This app does what it was meant to do, which is announcing time and it does it well. I can see this helping people who have ADHD and or “live in the moment” by helping them remember the time. The best investment I’ve made towards an app! The only thing I’d like added, is the option to have both the 30 minute and ding option for 15/45 mins selected. Right now, it says notification limitation by apple or something. But, I completely understand that it’s a restriction made by Apple and not you guys. Thank you once again!.Version: 2.4

If only it would workUpdate: I was able to figure it out and wanted my review to reflect that. This app is wonderfully designed and I’m glad it was made. Will add more to my review once I’ve used it a little. I read the section that provides a guide to troubleshooting and followed them on step at a time. The app seemed to work a few times when I swiped or pressed the home button. I even updated my ipad to the latest iOS and increased the volume of the voice once I did. I can’t seem to get the program to run properly and I’m really bummed out about it. If the developer could help that would be greatly appreciated <3.Version: 6.1.1

Big help for time blindnessI am so bad about losing track of time. This app is super helpful because it speaks the time on the hour. It can also be set to speak the time on quarter hours and with custom text. This is a especially helpful when I need to remember to do something outside my normal routine..Version: 6.2

My personal ADHD coachIf you’re time-blind when you're focused like me, this app simply reminds you to look at your watch and move on. It would be great if I could set other times than only 15 minute intervals, but I make it work for me. I love adding notes for my phone to say at specific times. My students think it’s funny when my phone gets bossy and starts and ends class. “Class is starting, let’s see who’s here” or “Class is ending, wrap it up”. I also love the interface. It’s not pretentiously over designed and has what you need. This app actually keeps me from looking at my phone and has made me more productive. Really there’s nothing bad about it..Version: 6.2.1

Truly an improvement to my lifeI love this app. I want the time announced in 15 minute intervals, this app is the only app that I e found that does this. It’s been a life saver many times I’ve had friends I’m with hear the announcements & ask for the app ❤️.Version: 6.0

Works great — best part is the support and helpProps to the developer of this app. I originally tried TalkingAlarm from the same developer and wrote a review about how it didn’t fit my use case; the developer got right back to me and recommended TalkingTime instead. They have made it super easy to navigate all the confusing Apple settings and even have a way to test it out immediately after fixing your settings. Must have taken lot of thought to make it so easy to use and understand. Five stars for responsiveness and design!!.Version: 5.1

Simple, Reliable, Excellent, and Needed!Incredibly helpful to remain on track for time. I have a massive issue with knowing how much time has passed. With this app, I actually get the help I needed for getting to events and appointments without being late. It actually surprises me every time for how much time elapsed. Lol! Seriously, if you have issues with keeping track of time, I’d consider downloading this app. It’s a slight challenge to understand the scheduling at first, but you should quickly figure it out and it’s totally worth it..Version: 6.1.3

Better than what I was looking forBest aspect is how many options there are to customise & quickly make tweaks as needed. I can even write my own time-sensitive reminders for it to announce. Excellent app & much better than what I was looking for & other talking clocks I’ve used for years..Version: 5.1

Pleased with AppVery pleased with this app Have not been able to fault it as yet Find it invaluable when unable to look at the time.Version: 5.1

Good for time blindnessI like different voice options and that it works during phone use or app use to remind me of time since I lack time awareness. Curious to know how to selectively turn it on when my phone is on silent or have it speak through silent or vibrate mode..Version: 5.1

Still loving this appI’ve been using this app for nearly 2 years now and it’s still as useful as the day I downloaded it. I’m completely time blind when I get into my projects sometimes and it’s such a lifesaver when I hear the spoken reminders I set for myself that day. I do wish I could link it up somehow to my Google calendars so it would speak my appointments though. That would be amazing and worth paying for!.Version: 5.1

Thank you for reminding me the time!!!This helps me to be aware what time it is. Prevents me from losing track of time, especially when surfing the web. Thank you!!.Version: 6.1.3

Best app ever!Love the app! Requires bug fix when it says 10:30 its sounds like 2:30. Also like option to just select all day say time.Version: 1.1

Really UsefulThis app is really useful for lots of purposes. The developer is also very helpful. I sent a suggestion for a new feature and it was implemented within days. I couldn’t be happier..Version: 6.2.1

Grateful for this appI’ve been using this app for about 2.5 years. I’ve tried a handful of similar apps and this one is the one for me. It’s had minor issues here and there but overall I love it and am thankful it exists..Version: 4.8.1

Polite reminders to take care of myselfAt work, when I’m busy working on a project, I will unknowingly work right thru lunch, break time… I forget to stop and take care of myself. This app provides a polite gently reminder to take a break..Version: 5.1

Great app to keep aware of the time!I was wanting a way to be notified of the time while streaming music over Bluetooth. I took a chance on TalkingTime. My streaming most often is to a BT speaker. The time announcements were flawless over headphones but ‘hit or miss’ with a speaker. I reached out to the app developer. Mark showed interest in my concern and through our exchange I am able to reliably able to get my spoken time checks. This is the perfect app if you’re working out or running and don’t want to look at your phone to check the time. It’s also exactly what I was looking for when we’re on the boat..Version: 4.4.2

Great Lil App!Reminds me to take my meds without having to dismiss it. Would love to see some new add ons and upgrades!!.Version: 4.4.1
