Angi Pro Leads for Negative User Reviews

Stop Advertising False Leads and ReviewsI’m totally disgusted with Home Advisors! In the beginning their were good leads and as time went by being with them for a couple of months I started receiving scam, false leads via text and email! Their ratings department is horrible even with valuable proof of a customer blatantly lying on a review they side with the customer and keep a false rating on your reviews because you didn’t provide a contract to them in their time like Professionals aren’t business as well. You pay for them to run your company how they want to run your company meaning if you request for a review to be taking off the battle you and tell you NO! What am I paying you for FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND TO TELL ME THAT I’M A LIAR ASA PROFESSIONAL AFTER GIVING SUBSTANTIAL PROOF OF A CUSTOMER LYING! To make a long story short a customer lied about her services on a review and ratings department told me because she didn’t tell the truth about asking for extra services they can not use that as proof because she didn’t write it in a review! If a company does an horrible job on your home, why will you contact the company again for extra services?! Due to the review being a lie because she wanted a refund! DO NOT PAY YOUR HARD OWN MONEY TO THIS GIMMICK COMPANY, THEIR FULL OF BS!!!!.Version: 3.28.0

I hope this review helps make a decisionOk let me explain what no one explains, i used to get calls all the time to join home advisor and they would call me daily until one day they were having a promotion where you pay $100 and they give you $300 worth in leads, now this leads you have to fight over with other companies they’re not only for you as they told me, their leads keep on coming in (pretty much every time you get a notification they’re charging you)and they keep taking money regardless of wether you talk to customer or not. Once your $300 in leads wears out ( 2 or 3 days) they keep sending you more and more and then they take hundreds out of your account without telling you or letting you know you’ve ran out of lead money so they’ll just keep billing you hundreds until you cancel your payments with the bank. I’ve tried reaching the guy that bothered me for months to join. I mean I would get calls on weekends and at all times and when I finally decided that I didn’t want this anymore no one answered, no one responded to my emails or my calls or my texts to cancel I even paused the leads and they still coming in. I would rather use thumbtack it’s the same thing but at least they tell you when you’re running out of money..Version: 3.64.0

Awful ResultsI've been with angi's for almost 3 months now and I'm afraid to even leave my leads on because I'm more likely to lose money than make money. Although my first couple weeks were good, it has been on a constant decline. I call the customers as soon as I receive the lead and still about 75% of the leads don't even answer the phone. I leave voicemails, email them and try to call a couple more times and get no answer. I know it may not be angi's fault and they do try to give me credit when possible, but these calls fall under the category of "customer isn't serious about the work" and then they claim there's nothing they can really do. It's unfortunate because I have been connected with great customers who leave reviews and have used my services again. Maybe it's the area I'm in and there's a lot of competition seperate from angi's, but I just don't see how it's possible to rely on this platform for work and stay profitable. Out of the 20 leads I've received so far I've only done 5 jobs through them. A couple were wrong tasks and the rest simply just didn't pick up the phone. I'm just at the point where it's not even worth using angi's anymore..Version: 3.144.1

Don’t do it!The service and app is a great idea too bad it’s ran by the wrong people. They lie to you and say it’s all customizable to your needs. That’s not the case, I was set to receive 2 leads a week due to being busy with some other jobs. They sent 2 leads and then followed that with 6 additional leads within the next 2 days. “Target spend limit” is more or less how much free money you want to give them. All the leads sent to me were bogus! You call and get no answer repeatedly, leave a voicemail, send a email but it doesn’t matter. Even better you call and they say they hired someone already and you can hear the actual work being done over the phone. But you just got the lead within the last 10 minutes. Also like others have stated, you call and it’s for a service or trade work that you do not provide. It’s ok Angi Leads has a credit system where they won’t charge you or give your money back. WRONG. It’s actually an in house credit system where they will send you “free” leads per credit. Also Angi Leads assigns a member to your account to help you start out. Not very helpful when they don’t answer or reply back or send your call straight to voicemail. It’s like they know you’ve caught on to what they’re doing. I hope you read this before moving forward to them. If you don’t believe these horror stories on this review just head over to ripoffreport there’s plenty of the same reviews there..Version: 3.137.0

Horrible for Service ProvidersThis company is a nightmare to deal with. They first contacted me posing as someone who “had several clients interested in getting home inspections in my area”. Once I spoke to them on the phone I should have hung up as soon as they mentioned they’re a lead sales company. They had me sign up for their service as a home inspector. I read the terms and conditions just a couple hours later the same day, before my account was even activated! I told my rep I wasn’t comfortable with the T&C and no longer wanted to activate my account. She said she’ll work on it the next day. Day 2, I get a membership charge statement and start getting bombarded with welcome emails. I’ve responded 3 times to cancel my account. They just give me an incident number saying they will respond “very soon” and they never actually do. STAY AWAY! These people want to take $300 from you for a membership and apparently will never give it back, even if you don’t even use the service. Horrible customer service. Learn from my bad experience. I’m hoping they have one decent person willing to help me. I’m getting laid off from a different job and don’t have $300 to just give away. If they don’t fix this I’m going to the BBB for a formal complaint..Version: 3.113

The absolute worst. Just stealing your moneyThis business is the worst. They just steal your money. When they first call to sign you up they call you constantly assure you they will be there every step of the way and once you pay your rep. Ignores you. When I told him that it’s not how he explain he just said I’ll pause the leads and you can call this number by literal text. I decided I wasn’t even going to try so on top of steal 300 something of initial fee they now sent us to collection for 5,000 and I never ever used the app nor did the rep pause the account. So they want us to pay 5,000 for a service we never used because they can’t properly work it. I also asked to speak to a supervisor multiple times and they just said we have to send a 24hr request and they will call you. Since I signed up back in October I believe I have not received one call, but an email from collections. You guys are scammers and please for the ones thinking of joining don’t do it they are just robbing you. It’s now up to me to take it up with our lawyers and our big social media platform to expose this business for what they truly are..Version: 3.149.0

Home advisor for PROs is a SCAM!!!!The app is good the company sucks.Version: 3.47.0

Rules of the GameHomeAdvisor is a great tool, but a poor customer service tool. Many times you may receive great leads, but majority of them will not be worth the money. Their rules to getting credit back for bad leads is ever changing, and is like pulling teeth. I have paid more money than I would like to count on leads which I begged to get money back it felt like knowing I was in the right. This is a good starter tool, but remember to turn your leads off and accept opportunities ONLY as they come. This will stop most of the financial bleeding. It has however helped me grow, but I am disappointed by how I have been treated in this short time with them. I pray this company can find a better way such as their competitor “Thumbtack”. I can at least see what I am getting into before I choose to fight for the lead, and only pay once the customer chooses me. There is no scrapping between contractors, because the lead will be just yours if chosen. Meaning I don’t pay for a lead I won’t get! HomeAdvisor......I hope you can fix your system, because the potential can be great, but also a NIGHTMARE for new businesses. Please do better by your loyal contractors like myself, and vet the customers needs better before giving them out to be fought over..Version: 3.33.1

Debt composed of Leads whose contact could not be successfulMy company Totally Fences LLC has been part of Angi List / Home Advisor since 2019, in recent months we have had many problems because many leads sent to us cannot be contacted since their phones never answer or Angi also send me non-existent addresses. When I ask for credit through the system in most cases it is never accepted even though Angi List has all the information in the system and clearly records unsuccessful call attempts. Owe a large debt to Angi List made up largely of Leads whose supposed clients could not be contacted after multiple attempts by us. I worked for many years in the Telecommunications area and I know that it is very easy to create mirror telephone numbers that do not actually exist, I would not like to think that this is the case. But it seems very curious that someone who supposedly chooses to connect with me does not answer my phone without even a minute having passed after he accept my company and this has happened to me many times. I would like some guidance to solve this problem or if it is necessary to hire a lawyer and file a lawsuit to solve this economic loss. Thank you.Version: 4.7.0

Home Advisor is HORRIBLE for contractors!!LISTEN TO ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! THEY ARE ALL TRUE!! If you are a consumer looking for work done in your house then I’m sure home advisor is a fantastic program to use because it’s free. However for the contractor, not so much! You get all these leads that cost you anywhere between $50-$80 a pop and most of the time nobody answers or nothing comes of it because the phone numbers are wrong or disconnected or nobody answers you back. And who gets stuck paying the bill for all of these bogus leads? The contractor! It’s absolutely terrible! We were getting billing statements for upwards of $200-$400 a month because of all of these leads we were getting and nothing came of them. So every month we were losing money because of home advisor. And of course they will not give you credit for a lead that that decides they don’t want to have their project done or that you can’t get through to. So any schmo can go onto HomeAdvisor and say they want something done just to see what contractors are available in the area but not follow through with their project. In the meantime that lead went to five or six contractors and they have to spend the money on that lead and nothing comes of it while HomeAdvisor takes in the dough! Home advisor is such a scam for contractors it’s ridiculous!!!.Version: 3.26.0

Terrible Service DO NOT USEI decided to give their service a try even based on the reviews it has. But working with them has been terrible. I repeatedly asked a question to the representative who was helping us at the time multiple times which she responded with the same answer each time. Keep in mind the response to this question was vital to if we were going to move forward with their services. After we joined charge after charge was applied even without use of the app even if you “pause” it. I called to cancel because we were lied to by the representative after asking multiples times about extra charges. They wouldn’t work with us on dropping the charges. And wouldn’t allow us to cancel their services unless the outstanding balance was paid. We didn’t want to deal with their terrible services anymore so we paid it. We were told that this payment was the FINAL payment. And that within 24 hours we would be receiving an email confirming the the cancellation with the final payment paid. So to our surprise now we’re being charged an extra $300 after they claim that the payment for the final payment was declined. No one communicated this to us at all, and our bank statements state otherwise as well as the statement on their webpage. I recommend that you don’t bother with this company it’s been a horrible experience and just a flat out head ache..Version: 3.70.0

Maybe you’ll get a good lead/likely you’ll pay for many terrible leadsSo much to say. Anytime you call them for help, the people helping you have English as a second language. Which it self is fine but you can see where the company is cutting costs. Then they removed the ability to request lead credit for bad leads on the app. Now you have to call in for each credit request. They also won’t refund you if the homeowner never answers you! Or if the homeowner decides not to do the project, YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE LEAD! And what if it’s a $120 land clearing lead? Yeah you gotta pay for that, though the customer just picked land clearing prepare building site because it was the closest thing they could think to categorize it under, but they only want a 1’deepx10’long trench dug, so I can only charge them $250 but Angi’s charges me $120 for the lead. And they won’t refund that. Then 9/10 times the homeowner didn’t know they were signing up to have multiple contractors call them, so when if they do answer you, they’re usually upset and not looking for any bids. Angi’s needs to make 1000 improvements to help their contractors not waste money on leads, but contractors paying for bad leads is how Angi’s makes most of their money. Remember, they just had a lawsuit which they lost to the US Federal Trade Commission having to pay a measly $7.2million to who I don’t know, I didn’t see any of it, did you?.Version: 4.6.5

Took a massive diveI used Home Advisor for a few years. I was the top contractor in my area for my industry. Reviews. The whole nine yards. Once Angi List melted in to the mix. Absolutely every angle fell apart. The lead quality became a joke. I do mold. I would get leads asking to move a refrigerator. And customer service would deny the credit request. Customer service is non existent, and they ultimately get you on a phone with someone that says they aren’t liable for whatever issue you’re having. My last issue, 2 reps hung up the phone mid problem solving. 4 more said they would have a supervisor call me back. For 4 straight days. Nobody ever did. It’s a true shame. I remained as loyal as I could. But all you get is the “I completely understand” speech and no action to resolve your concerns. Even at the top of the food chain. When I closed my account. I got an email asking me to reactivate my and they would give me a whopping 3 free leads. Not to mention the years of low quality leads and credit request denial money essentially being robbed from my business account. When this was Home Advisor. It was amazing. Truly helpful and advantageous. Now with the Angi merger. You might as well look some place else. As I have had to do..Version: 3.145.0

Not a great product to start a business withStarted my electrical contractor company in November, chased every lead given from angis. Several jobs had wrong numbers attached, some just couldn’t get ahold of by either calling or emailing. The individual who was are initial contact promised I would only be charged for leads I can contact and after 30 days he was no longer available to contact, was given someone else who I probably spoke to twice and once was to inform me she was taking over, then after 30 days she was no longer attached to my account and I could only deal with a “supervisor “ any request for a credit was denied as I was told they were accurate leads, then after a while of calling and complaining I was told I was requesting in the wrong category and that not all leads pan out. But if I can’t contact the number given that’s not an actual lead. In my opinion I was scammed out of several thousand dollars over the course of keeping the account active as I tried getting my name out there. While I did get some jobs through this, I definitely wasted more time and energy trying to make this work and felt angis just gave me to many bogus leads and took alot of money from my company as a result. I would definitely stay away from using this if at all possible.Version: 24.14.0

Needs to improveHomeAdvisor started off good with giving leads and giving credit for customers that never answered. After a couple month with HomeAdvisor I started to notice they stopped giving credit where credit should be given... We have had multiple leads that NEVER answered their or returned our call. Also had customers who scheduled themselves for service and when we call to confirm appointments they wanted to know what was wrong or why their door failed without us going out to see. When we will tell customers have to see the door first they respond with “okay, I’ll call you back” and they instead cancel. When I bring up my concerns to HomeAdvisor they respond with “We don’t give credits for customers not answering or not returning calls”. They also do not give credit for customers who schedule a visit but then later on cancel. Some leads can be $13 for standard leads or $20 for a customer scheduling themselves. I see now how HomeAdvisor makes their money... I’ve talked to multiple door companies who also think HomeAdvisor needs to give credit where credit is due but HomeAdvisor will NEVER do that because they are not interested in helping contractors, they want to make money for themselves PERIOD. This is my reason for giving them a 2 star rating..Version: 3.4.0

Con artistsDon’t fall for their credit back services, it’s just credit to continue using their services for which they just keep charging you. And it becomes a second job to keep up on the credit and calls. Especially when they don’t answer or it goes straight to voicemail and they still charge you. Which the selections people make, example, a new install, but in reality it was a part swap, they still charged me for a full install and when asking for money back that they charged to my account they just credited me to continue the services but they take the money out of my account and I never see a return. I got ahold of 3 actual people in 5 months of service, the others were straight voicemail or said they never submitted an Angie’s lead. I spent over $1,600 in those months for two actual jobs that I lost money on because of how they charged me for the lead. Having to monitor and call so much to ensure it’s accurate becomes a second job I don’t have time for or can’t afford another body to be a desk jockey for calls and accounting for a service that should do it for you. They never give money back, it’s a cycle of robbing you..Version: 24.08.1

Stay Away!! You will lose your money!Whatever you do, stay away from anything related to Angi or homeadvisor. Especially if your a contractor like me. They took over 300$ of MY money that I earned through labor and refused to refund me after cancelling my membership because of their bogus leads. The whole system is a joke. The salesmen gave me the sweetheart sales pitch about how “we’re not seeing competitors in your area on here and there’s a demand for work but nobody to accept!” Yeah, sounds like a no nonsense for only 300$ a year right? WRONG, everything they say is a lie. I get fake clients that start yelling at me for calling them because I’m the 5th person to that day thinking they’re someone looking for my services but their information is just taken and put into Angis and created into a fake lead. It’s really despicable what they’re willing to do to small business owners like me. I’m 19, just started my own window cleaning business after moving across the country and they take pride in stealing the money I worked for. After all of that, they make cancelling extremely hard and refuse to give your money back. Please stay away, it isn’t worth it, let me be your example to save your money. Homeadvisor is an absolute joke the the American small business workforce 0/5 stars if I could..Version: 4.9.0

Great platform/ no integrityHome-advisor is a great platform, and we have no issue locking in jobs. The issue comes from getting fake/poor leads. It’s hit or miss, sometimes up to 80% of the leads can be poor leads meaning no one ever picks up or if they do they instantly hang up. You have to pay for the lead no matter what and you only get a allowance of one or two credits per week. I don’t think it’s the customer fault it’s the way the system is set up. Home advisor lures in customer by saying find out how much your project will cost, just fill out this information. So most people end up selling there information and start getting million calls from contractors because home advisor just sold there Information. They will sell the information $45-$130 plus dollar's to 3-4 other contractors. I think if they sold you genuine leads then the platform would be 100% worth it. Also it depends on demographics. I bet this system works better in some other demographics. The bad is home advisor doesn’t give a crap if it’s a fake lead or not, they will not credit you the money. At the end of the day the contractor has to charge more to the real paying customers..Version: 3.148.0

FailingExtremely disappointed with the last few years with this service and feel it continues to worsen. Currently exploring other options of advertisement and leads. Have been a contractor with homeadvisor/angie since 17’. Lead costs continue to increase and at average have at least tripled from when we started. These are still shared leads and most contractors simply cant afford $50-$60 for leads for jobs that only can turn $150 profit. Customers will not pay more for these simple tasks . The percentage of leads has increased significantly however the majority are garbage leads that dont answer or don’t actually need work performed. Angies app has become more difficult to use the phone numbers to contact leads have changed and include a comma in the middle of the phone number this prevents us from clicking on the number to automatically call and requires us to manually dial….this is an issue because when requesting credits you are immediately given a denial because lead has not been contacted. We were a strong believer in this system starting our business and credit them for success in our beginning years however i would no longer recommend this to any contractors its simply not affordable and no longer the same app it once was..Version: 24.12.1

Total Rip-off!We are a New Business Start-up and we were placed with “Angela,” who is supposed to be a 13yr HA Rep. Before we signed with HA, Angela called us relentlessly! We finally accepted and decided to give it a try. She told us we would only pay for the “Leads,” we accepted. What she didn’t say, was that every time we answered a HA call, that was “accepting” the lead!!! We gave over a 12 FREE estimates, that took our time and gas, and we never heard back from them, and then our bank account was charged $389 for one week of unfruitful leads!!! We called Angela to try and talk to her, and all of a sudden she was no where to be found. She went from calling us 4-5x’s per day, to us leaving voicemails everyday with no response. After 5 days of no contact, she finally called my husband back and told him I was lying and she never said we were going to get EVERY lead. By the amounts we have been charged, if we chose to stay with HA, we would have to charge $50 for estimates, plus add an additional $50 to our fee just to break even. We want to offer “reasonable prices,” and this would not allow us to do that. We are very disappointed and will NEVER use or recommend Home Advisor to anyone!.Version: 3.27.0

Not in CanadaThis app can only be used in the States..Version: 3.27.0

3.5The concept of Angi Leads is great, but the leads need to be cheaper. If price cannot be lowered on the leads, then we should be able to receive credit for all the bogus and meaningless leads we pay for without needing review. I have paid between $35-$45 for numerous leads that either: a) the customer doesn’t answer or reply at all. b) the customer is months and months away from needing my service. c) the customer is calling for repairs on work done by a previous contractor through Angi Leads d) customer is looking for a job worth around $2k with a budget of $800. 🤷🏻‍♂️. why should i have to pay for this lead when this customer is not prepared to spend the money required for my product? another thing i dont like is the app always fails even when i am on strong connections, so when a lead comes in and I use the link in the text message from Angi Leads to contact the customer it DOES NOT register as me calling the customer. so when the customer doesn’t answer or gives us a ridiculous question and we have to decline, we cannot get credit for this since Angi Leads doesn’t record this call. SO WHY PUT A LINK ON THE TEXT TO CALL?? Honestly the rating would be lower and I already have strongly considered canceling my account with Angi Leads, BUT i will say that their customer service representatives have always been considerate and professional in my opinion, so i really appreciate their help when I run into certain frustrations with the service..Version: 3.141.1

Disappointing Experience with Angi Leads: A Costly MistakeMy experience with Angi Leads has been exceptionally disappointing. During the initial sales call, I was aggressively pushed into prepaying $300 for lead credits, with promises of a substantial influx of high-quality leads. Regrettably, the reality fell far short of these expectations. As an operator in the sewer and drain cleaning industry within a bustling metropolis, I had anticipated a more fruitful outcome. In the span of a week, I received only three leads. The first inquiry pertained to descaling a pipe, for which I was charged $42. The second call was conducted in Spanish, rendering communication impossible, and yet again, I was billed $42. The third lead involved a customer seeking toilet unclogging services, who, when faced with my inability to offer a lower rate due to the exorbitant lead cost, opted to look elsewhere. It’s evident that Angi Leads oversells its services, providing low-quality leads. The practice of disseminating the same leads to multiple businesses creates frustration for customers and intense competition among service providers, making it challenging to secure profitable work. The rebranding of the company should have raised alarm bells. My experience with Angi Leads proved to be a costly mistake, and I strongly advise prospective users to steer clear of this service..Version: 4.7.0

Good and BadWhen I signed up I was told since I was an Angie’s List A Rated Contractor for the last 6 years they would merge all my reviews and promised a lot of things just to get me to sign up! I asked about the sales manager that I spoke to would always be there for me and my company if we ever needed her and trying to get her on the phone is almost impossible. As far as the leads go they are super expensive and we are constantly fighting to get a credit for the leads that are no good or even talk to a customer. Half of the calls we receive from the Home Advisor 800 number are dead (Pick the phone up and nobody is there and the call disconnected) if they fix those issues I would be a lot happier. I don’t like to have to spend money on leads that are no good and then pay my office manager to spend 2 hours a day trying to get us a credit! We are probably charged $500-$1000 more a month than what we should pay. Its been 6-8 months and still never had our reviews transferred as promised. We have went back and forth threw emails to where I was told that if I give her my login information and password to my Angie’s List account she would transfer the reviews and then the next day I received an email about how she has to have some IT guy take a look and that it might not work and now we will not get the reviews transferred if they can’t figure it out! Funny because they own Angie’s List. Just be ready to pay $1500-$2000 at minimum and you are on your own as far as the rest goes..Version: 3.28.0

Business Owner ReviewAngi’s List is really helpful sometimes. But more often than not they are charging me almost $50 per lead now and still sending my lead to other pros in my area. This is a problem because I am paying for leads to gain business, not more competition! I can hardly compete when there are +3 other pros at the same estimate, under cutting bids. So now not only am I competing even more than I should be, I am losing a lot of money and time. Some weeks Angi’s Lead racks up hundreds of dollars of lead fees that are simply unattainable because of every pro under bidding the next, just to break even. A lot of jobs Angi Leads are sending are also non profitable meaning; bo matter what it’s a $40 min lead fee… while alot of the leads they are sending are small jobs worth only $100-$150, meaning we break even at best. I would hope and pray Angis list cares about the pros that are keeping their company running and will hopefully do more to help us business owners not lose so much money with leads and not compete with each other when we use Angis List..Version: 3.124

Awful Business EthicI began using Angi in hopes it would bring in more leads but despite having my account set up correctly (and spending several hours trying to contact a competent person on customer service to ensure it was set up correctly) I found all I received were leads for services I don’t provide. These included pressure washing, roofing, electrical work, and cutting down trees. I am a grass care provider, I cut, fertilize, and aerate grass. Despite this Angie feels comfortable carving the full amount for the lead before confirming that the lead that they assign to you is feasible for you company to service. This has angered several homeowners and the best I was able to do is give them the customer service hotline for Angi or tell them to stay away from Angi at all costs. They make getting credits for leads a gamble at best so they are basically stealing from you every time it’s rejected (which is often). I also had several instances of Angi sending emails to customers that I was canceling appointments on them and upon calling Angi they just said it was a bug in their notifications system and provided no further help. Angi is one of those things that I wanted to work so bad and upon giving them every chance I could they just never fail to disappoint..Version: 3.141.1

LeadsStill experiencing the same issue we've had for a year now. The majority of the leads do not respond even when we do the direct connect, several have inaccurate information ranging from bad contact number to the location not being in the area we service, we had requests for services not by the homeowner, and a few have been requesting services we do not offer. All customers who we are unable to reach, are called multiple times, sent multiple emails, as well as multiple text messages. When we address this issue we’re told to request a credit. However, when we request the credit, we are treated as we're being unreasonable and the majority have to be reviewed before being denied. If these leads were accurate and the customer would respond, paying would not be an issue. As a contractor, if the customer is not responding, how do we know this lead is actually a lead and not a test lead? In all fairness, contractors should only pay for the leads that respond. If the contractor is not actively pursuing the customer, it would be understandable to deny the requested credit..Version: 3.121

Honest ReviewI have only been using the app for a few weeks. There is great potential, but, there are currently huge problems. Every professional that gets the lead has to pay. Regardless if you get the job or if the home owner changes their mind. Even if they don’t answer their phone. Most leads go out to three professionals. That is not right. Angis Leads is making up to $148 per lead and 2 professionals are losing up to $48 on every lead. This is not right. Also, many of the leads do not specify what the work is, so if you accept the lead and the job is not a service you provide, you still have to pay. This adds up quickly at about $47 per lead. I had to turn my leads off to stop racking up the out of pocket cost on bad leads. I have been working with managers for a week to resolve the issue and have been getting little to no resolution on the issue. I was told someone would get back to me twice and nothing. I was also told two times that Angi Leads used to credit all leads that didn’t result in work, but they changed it because professionals were taking advantage. Their solution seems to be for them to take advantage of small business owners. It’s a shame because this could be great. I hope I get this figured out with them. Haven’t given up yet. Bogus Leads. I didn’t tap a star because there isn’t a symbol that expresses my opinionI have received a countless # of bogus leads leads that were out of my coverage area, leads outside the scope of the services that we provide, leads where the customer has no clue what I’m referring to , wrong #’s leads where no one answers the call, respond to a text or even an email and best of all the wrong contact information. And whenever I try to get a credit the answer is always the same, HomeAdvisor will send to the review team and I should receive an email with an answer to my request. I’m sure all of us have been thought the same process and have received the same email stating that they have reviewed all the information and can not at this time give you a credit, and that not all leads are perfect I was mislead rite from the beginning when I set up and signed on with H.A. I was told and I requested that I would cover an area of my choosing and customers that have already purchased all materials required to complete their project, and that all I had to do is provide my installation services, needless to say I’m yet to receive not 1 lead that fits that description. On an average 200$-400$ Per week H.A. Has quietly themselves my partner. And actually are doing better on their gross return then we are..Version: 3.26.0

Clients can’t make correct contractor selection!I’m getting tired of paying for leads that I don’t serve. I am specifically a “Geothermal HVAC” installer. I get leads for boilers, swimming pool heaters, no one returns the followup call (or e-mail), or people who don’t really want an installation they just have questions, etc... I’m getting fed up with the unfriendly way Home Advisor deals with lead credit requests! First of all- you can’t find where to go to ask for it. Then it is an automated process that does not allow for selections that apply and get instantly rejected. If I need a person to talk to who can review and is authorized to make a decision. Typically the response is no credit is forthcoming because it’s a valid lead... when the client themselves apologize for costing me $23-$92 and they know they aren’t a lead or worse yet... HmAdv says they takes to the customer when we couldn’t get a response and so we still need to pay. I have 5 in the past couple months. Because of the unfriendly methods for credit request I’m not getting my refunds. As the business owner I am becoming increasingly angry with Home Advisor processes and am at the verge of abandoning the service after a long relationship that has never been better than moderately happy to more often feeling taken advantage of every month or two. Terrible service. As others have said this is terrible 4/10 posts are duds. They send the customer to many different companies and half the time they’re just price shopping and it’s a headache requesting credits back for fake posts. $30 a lead is a ripoff. They’ll also sell your info to third parties. I have been getting calls non stop from scammers trying to set me up for other services I never requested half the time they don’t even know half my info. This happened after signing up. Don’t do it. Lawsuit pending on these effers. Called to cancel and they downgraded my account to free opportunity only. They still charge you $30 something when you say you’re interested in an opportunity but I just get the general location and drop off door hangers all over the neighborhood. Stop being lazy and giving this greedy company your money. I’d like to reiterate years later I keep getting spam calls and people trying to “get me more customers for my business”. Home advisors/ angis is the only app I’ve used that’s like this. They take your info and they sell it. They partner up with very scammy companies. They themselves might be somewhat legit but their partners don’t seem to be. Don’t do it..Version: 3.136.0

Thieves, Liars, Very Poor Customer ServiceEverything sounds great that they tell you but don’t believe any of it. I received my initial call from Kyle Brodsky and he did poor job listening and I had to tell him about 5 times the correct spelling for my business. He also said he would be with me every step of the way but I never heard from him again and he would not return any of my calls. I called customer service to see what was taking so long for my profile to be active and was transferred 3 times before being told I was being transferred again but was hung up on instead. I haven’t received not a single lead but they want to charge me $300 a month and a $150 annual fee. Don’t let them scam you like they have to many others I’m sure. In response to Angi specialists you know you’re Full of you know what and you’re only pretending to be professional to set the example for the SCAM artists you are! My contact info for my business name is SuKmYD. Please look it up and get back to me to let me know what you can do for me. Everyone please read the 1 star rating reviews before purchasing with this company that’s out to rip off small businesses..Version: 3.132.1

Awful.Biggest problem is there is no “quality control” of leads or opportunities. For instance, a homeowner can select “handyman” service for anything, and the lead will be sent to “handymen.” But let’s say that service is installing a new outlet and wiring it into the breaker box. This is not legal to do unless you are a licensed electrician. Yet you will still be charged a “lead fee” and could also potentially waste time in your day figuring out this person actually needs an electrician. Sure they will refund you on 2 of these each month but I’ve already had 5 in one month. The truth is most homeowners don’t understand the types of licenses and permits needed to do simple tasks so Angis list needs to have someone that filters through these homeowners requests and actually get them sent where they need to be sent. Or some lawsuits will happen when a handyman goes and performs a major electrical job and gets seriously injured or dies because of it. Also feels like a scam when most of the leads don’t ever reply to you at all. Don’t sign up awful app will not be adding any account funds after running out my current amount, would rate 0 stars if possible.Version: 3.124

Contractors...Get ready to payThis service is much needed & a good way to reach a larger customer base. However, it is way too front loaded with fees for it to be practical to use. There is the initial membership fee of $287 which you get nothing for except your membership. & the fees mount from there. I was immediately charged a lead fee just for looking at my own page as a potential customer. When I spoke with customer service (which took a long time) I was told that fee would be refunded. That was nearly 3 weeks ago & still no refund. I hadn’t even had the opportunity to build my profile or get reviews from customers or get any real leads on work & I was already in to Home Advisor for over $300. This app might be very useful for homeowners looking for pro contractors but as a contractor it’s a scam. Online help is polite & friendly but not very effective. I’ve been given a runaround about charges to my account. I’m sure this service would have found me some work but I simply can’t afford to be dishing out nearly $40 every time a potential customer even checks out my profile. The fee system needs an overhaul. I don’t mind paying a referral fee but to be charged solely on the potential of work is a rip off..Version: 3.38.0

Bad leads are the norm and not the exceptionIn all fairness I have gotten some good jobs through Home Advisor but the biggest problem is that Home advisor very obviously tracks people’s google searches etc and then sells it as a legitimate lead when they haven’t even specifically requested a service. In the last two months out of approximately 15 leads I was only able to get in contact with less than a handful and 6-8 I never was able to get in contact with them whatsoever and 3-4 of them never intended it to be a job request. Getting credit for bad leads should be simple but its not. Home Advisor has a low allowance for requesting refunds and they’ll turn it down or the reps come up with flimsy excuses of why it’s somehow still a legitimate lead in spite of evidence to the contrary. For a small business it is expensive and I have gotten charged $124 for a small bathroom remodel and most leads are in $80-90 range. It’s simply not sustainable for me with Home Advisor fraudulently selling leads. I’m pretty well done with Home Advisor but beings I paid for a yearly membership already I’ll leave my profile on there for now..Version: 3.58.0

Gimmicky / Poor Customer ServiceAngi Pro Leads as a service provider has been a horrible experience. Ever since they acquired Home Advisor, things have gone downhill in a hurry. Their customer service is a joke and the majority of leads they send you (and immediately charge your payment method on file) are rarely accurate to the services scope you select in your profile. For example, we are a large remodeling company. Our services scope on Angi Pro Leads is limited to "Major Home Renovation - Multiple Rooms" but we are sent - and charged for - leads where someone needs a window caulked or a door hung because they're too heavy to lift. We request a credit for these leads because they are completly unrelated to our lead scope selected in our profile; however instead of Angi acknowledging they are sending us bad leads and not vetting them prior to sending them to us (and charging us for them), they argue with you and say your "ineligible for a credit." It's deeply fustrating to say the least. If Angi continues to operate in such a manner, they're setting themselves up for a nice Class Action Lawsuit. I'm sure we're not the only company that's beyond frustrated..Version: 3.158.0

Need to make customers add more descriptionsPlease make customers add descriptions for the work they are looking to get, make it understood to customers that contractors pay less fees so please don’t ignore when it’s time to get called by a company, also please indicate in the lawn care section that one time service shouldn’t even be an option Too many times I run into scenarios where customers accept my invitation to connect and then never answer me, not sure why that is, and one time service lawn care is very redundant , $36 lead fee, cut a house $50-$55 one time, imagine if it’s long because usually that’s the case, customers will say “my machine broke, just needed you this one time” Just feel like overall angi leads needs to make it obligatory to add a thorough description of their work wanted, another example of an unclear situation is the “deliver mulch, stone, etc.” As a landscaper one might think they want their mulch done, sometimes you’ll call and it’ll literally mean to deliver the materials itself, the customer doesn’t need a landscaper for that, they need to call a landscape material place.Version: 3.161.1

OwnerThe system needs to have better questions to the consumers. Angi needs to make the consumer’s more aware of pricing and also make aware that a contractor is busy and can’t get them in got a job in the next two days. A ton of these people have that expectation that a contractor can get them scheduled and job done in 2 days of the lead. While there expectations is insane that lead cost me $90 and two outs of my limited time! Majority of these people are just tire kickers and putting looking for a quote but not really looking to spend the money, but all that does is waste my time and my money. The leads cost way too much money for tire kickers. All sizzle but the waiter dropped my steak on the floor stepped on it spit on it to wash it off then served it to me. This is how I feel I am being done as your client for the leads your sourcing to me. And the phone calls the contractor needs a direct number to call the client. This lead number is awful. It comes up scam likely on most people phone and they won’t answer now because of your system it cost me a $100 in a lost lead. You make money while I get robbed. Also when I try to call off the app the number won’t even connect..Version: 3.102

Won’t let me make a account.Make a account. Ok... enter postal/zip code. Yet there’s only numbers... no letters for postal code..Version: 3.24.0

You live and you learnI wanted to give this zero stars, but I had to give it one to post this .This application needs improvement, but they failed to do it. You start off with paying $300 for a membership, then you have to pay for a lead right off the start instead of giving you a courtesy five leads to get you used to the system. instead, they swindle you in with saying if you don’t close any deals on your first 10 Leads you get your money back for the membership only. The leads range from $30-$60 even up to 80 so those 10 leads will add up quickly costing you more than the membership. I asked that they simply update the application with allowing me to turn my lead off until I want to turn them back on, but they don’t want to do it. Instead, you can select 14 days to pause your leads, and they recommend set yourself a Reminders to pause them again. They can simply update the application to allow me to turn them on whenever I want. I had to guess you were my leads turned on at midnight and I got two leads over night, that I did not win. it is what it is you live and you learn..Version: 4.1.0

No regard for the providerHome advisor could not be more of a scam then it is. Do not use this app or platform if you want to make money or be appreciated. Home advisor will charge you for every last lead they give you. Regardless if you made money on the lead or not. The customer service people do nothing to help you with leads that you have already paid for if they end up being dead ends. Especially when the lead does not answer their phone. I have bought countless leads where the phone number given is not working or wrong and I still do not get money back from home advisor for those leads. Here’s the worst part. The credit system for leads is not based on what’s logically like if you made money on a lead or had the opportunity to make money versus not it’s based on how many leads you been charged versus how many leads you have requested to be credited. All that to say as long as home advisor makes a certain amount of money off you via leads then they will give you some credits, but only a certain amount. After that certain amount they will start to label all your requested credits as ineligible whether they are legit or not. But once you have bought enough leads from home advisor again they will start allowing you a handful credits whether they are legit or not. DO NOT USE HOME ADVISOR!!!.Version: 3.75.0

Love/Hate relationshipVery much agreed with other reviews about the high percentage of expensive bogus leads. As a business trying to get established in a new state we have not worked before, the good leads have been helpful enough to keep paying for them for the moment. However, there is a high percentage of expensive leads that are legitimately due credit. HomeAdvisor customer service is nonexistent once they hook you in to the membership. Its a constant, almost daily, arm wrestling match to simply get credit for leads that you can never get hold of after multiple attempts, people request a service that you don’t perform, etc. If you have pay $100-$150 to simply get a phone number, is it too much to ask that you should at least get to speak to the people?!? They change the goal post on you constantly when it comes to trying to get credit. I’m more than willing to pay for good leads, and not looking to game the system. They are just very unreasonable when it comes to reasonable requests for credit. Beware! Expect a high maintenance service that you have to keep your eye on constantly. And yes, I will ditch them as soon as my business is established..Version: 3.83

So many bugsThis app crashes all the time and deletes your log in info. It has happened twice now that a lead comes in and when I click on the link to have it open in the app, the app does not know who I am. Not very convenient when you are trying to contact someone before other people get to It first. The app also recently started displaying EVERY lead, even ones that have been closed. Why would I want to see leads that I lost from 2 months ago in my “active leads”. From a user interface POV, it is laid out pretty well, except for the constant menu that pops up from the bottom every time I go into a lead detail. All I need is to find an email address, well hold on…don’t you want to call them, set a reminder or follow up, etc…. Please get rid of the box opening up by itself! If I want to access a menu I will click on the menu. I do not need you to shove it in my face like I’m an idiot. I have found the service very beneficial to my business (despite a couple disagreements about what an actual lead is), but this app needs to be fixed. An app is supposed to make the process more streamlined, not make me pull my hair out..Version: 3.108.1
